Now we see why commander codpiece wanted him on the
    team… I mean court.

  2. Flamethrower says:

So I’m guessing all this “rule of law” talk from Republicans, is, uh, null and void?

Yeah, they want to gang-bang the Constitution, and force us to watch.

Hello, I’m George W. Bush with another of my 98 reasons why you should trust me to safeguard your liberties.

Reason #12: when you hear the words roving wiretap, it means we have to get a court order first and get a warrant.

And I’m Henry Block with another of my 42 reasons why you should trust H&R Block to prepare your tax return.

Reason #18: our specially trained surgeons will come to your home and remove your corneas, entitling you to receive further benefits as a blind person.

  5. Andrew C White says:

James Madison argued that while there were necessary powers to be vested in the federal government those powers were to be checked in order to prevent abuse.

Further, he argued that there were those who “may inflame the passions of the unthinking, and may confirm the prejudices of the misthinking” in their arguments against The Constitution. He thought such people to be less than candid and not helpful to the “good sense of the people of America.”

Eccch, typos. I was having too much fun. ;->

  7. Marie says:

It’s bad enough for an ignorant, stupid, presidential f**k-up to trample the Constitution he swore to uphold, but when he has attorneys and judges who can twist it and pervert it with impunity, we are all in very serious trouble. Those who say they have nothing to hide, so what — should be forced to give up television for a week in order to read the history of America and the founding of the Constitution, followed by a crash course in the rise of fascism and Nazism in Germany.

  8. hardass says:

So much more to discover of this UNconstitutional lawyer .
If nominated , who will protect the constitution ,and all of us from this neo-Mussolini.Yale put out some doozees .
Damn! another reason to put another nail on the coffin of his nomination,

  9. NutWrench says:

The Attorney General should read the 4th Amendment of the Constitution. It’s only one sentence long, not the friggin Encyclopedia Brittanica. If he were upholding the Constitution in the first place, then he wouldn’t have to worry about getting sued.

sounds like more of that crock’a'bull liberal claptrap about them damn freedoms thingie. damn hippies, whadda they expect from me? sheeeuut, it’s mi familia after all you peckerwoods, stop expectin’ me to do anything to rile up my mob bosses, waddya think I spew, the truth?

  11. Susan says:

Alito won’t be confirmed. He supports illegal wire tapping, hates women and is a closet gay who’s about to come out.

  12. lickspittle says:

The more I hear about Alito, the less I want him on the Court. If Bush and Cheney are for him, I am against him. Correspondence is finally starting to come out, and now we can clearly see his agenda. Bushites would have our women going to the back alleys and have no say over their own bodies.

  13. kindness says:

I’m really glad that we’ve started looking at more than his views on abortion.

And look at what he said. He said not to give the AG & Executive Branch sweeping powers right away, but a little at a time, because that was politically do-able.

No wonder dumbya wants him so bad. He’d definitatly vote to cover bushco’s ass on any issue.

    Merry Christmas all.

  14. Marie says:

Of course Alito defends the AG and anyone who would break the law — united they stand; divided they fall. That’s why Bush&Co wants to stack the Court with his followers.
