It’s a family affair.

It’s a family affair.

“Jack Abramoff’s parents, brother and sister-in-law gave at least $8,000 to President Bush’s second campaign—all on the same day in June 2003.”

  1. laddie says:

Is he giving that money back. Or does that not count as Abramoff-related donations either. Jerks.

  2. Robert says:

    Dear Abramoff family members,

Here’s a gift for $10,000 for each of you. I hope you have BUSHels of fun with it.

    Yours,

    Jack

  3. For Truth says:

This was likely just a way of diffusing who gave what to whom. Jack gave the money to the relatives, then they gave it to the campaign. Another sign of how the money was “laundered”

  4. Mark says:

Hmmm, I wonder if there were transerfers of $8,000 from Jack to his family memembers fairly close to the same day.

  5. Pete Bogs says:

this is sounding like DeLay’s family affair…

  6. cynical ex-hippie says:

When this is all over, Bush won’t recall meeting anyone, ever.

  7. WaltTheMan says:

It seems that Jack suffers from a paucity of relatives.

  8. Granite State Destroyer says:

George W. Bush: “Who’s Dick Cheney? I can’t think of ever meeting some guy named Frist. Hastert, who dat? Rove, doesn’t ring a bell”.

No morals at all. He is supposed to be Mr. Honest and straight shooter…..Nope, never met Ken Lay either, even though he was the biggest donor to Bush’s campaign back in 2000.

I have seen whorehouses with more dignity.

  9. Granite State Destroyer says:

Oh yeah, and also: “Jack doesn’t know Dick”

I was wondering the same thing, myself.

  11. progressive and proud says:

Wonder who they stole that from. You know, even if Diebold were on the level (I know but stop laughing for just a sec) they stole everything they have.

Whenever I was a kid and cheated when my friend went to the bathroom, I felt bad. What happened to these folks? Is it just bad breeding or do we liken them to serial killers who have no conscience?

  12. Louis says:

Were they all living at the time?

Morality and ethics is something that parents teach to their children. The fact that you have a conscience speaks well of your upbringing and your parent(s)’ morals. Every now and then someone is just born with “bad” wiring, or to be more accurate, a sociopath. In Jack’s case, without knowing his family, it’s hard to figure out, either way.

What I’m worried about is what you were cheating at while your friend was in the bathroom. That sounds kinda’ weird… ;)

  14. WaltTheMan says:

Where do they all live? I found four Abramoffs in CA through anywho.com Don’t know if they are related, but one is on the same street as my brother.

    #13,
I think that PaP is referring to a pee break during a game of Monopoly or Scrabble or the like.

I kinda figured (hoped) it was something like that.

  17. Hardy Haberman says:

Gosh, if the press will finally start a feeding frenzy on all this tasty scandal, can impeachment be far away?

DUHbya’s dream will come true when they throw him in solitary at Leavenworth. Then he can truly say “For the last ten years I have met nobody other than my guardian Angels sent by the Intelligent designer.

  19. Lisa says:

I wonder if Bush is going to pull the same thing Reagan did during the Iran/Contra hearings: “I can’t remember”. Of course, I think Reagan was probably already in the throws of Alzheimer’s. What’s Bush’s excuse gonna be? “I blacked out at the time; too many highballs”.

  20. WaltTheMan says:

If W does Highballs, he substitutes Vodka for the water and uses those non-melting plastic “ice cubes”.

  21. big papa says:

    $8,000 my a*s…

    Keep digging, there’s more…

    I’m sure of it!

  22. Evil Spaniard aka kharma says:

You mean family or “famiglia”? Is spooky how Abramoff looks like the “consigliere” Robert Duvall in the “Il Padrino” movies…

  23. Democrat Soldier says:

Still haven’t been able to find a Democrat name to whom money was donated by Jack Abramoff . . . .

Anyone have any links that show that info? Anyone? (Please, no links to NewsMax or other radical right web site.)
