Nver confuse facts with repluglicans ability to continually lie about them. What is it 40% of the public thinks Iraq was involved in 9-11 and a simalur percentage still thinks Ira has WMDs? As long as the ‘repuglican talking heads” lie about and the mainsteam media doesn’t have the balls to point out their lies you’ll see simalur percentages thinking Abramof gave to democrats just as much as repuglicans…Dean shut Wolf (i work for bushco)Blitzer up the other day, but do you really think he’ll ever question the veracity of any other guess that elludes to this as a “congressional scandal” and not one of the repuglican party? The mainstream media cerainly seems hell bent on pushing this as “business as usual”
I read this too. Remember the Republicans are supposed to be the “truth tellers” and the “honest” party. Yet, on an issue as simple and clear cut as this scandal where ALL of the players are Republicans and Democrats are only tangentially invloved they can’t be honest.
Just like Judge Alito. Judge, be honest about being a very conservative Judge. Don’t couch and hide your beliefs. Be proud that you will over turn Roe v. Wade.
It’s about time that the lies are exposed for what they are. Either something is true or it isn’t. Dean almost made Blitzer pee his pants when he refused to allow disinformation. Here’s a transcript courtesy of :
BLITZER: Should Democrats who took money from Jack Abramoff, who’s now pleaded guilty to bribery charges among other charges, a Republican lobbyist in Washington — should the Democrats who took money from him give that money to charity or give it back?
DEAN: There are no Democrats who took money from Jack Abramoff. Not one. Not one single Democrat. Every person named in this scandal is a Republican, every person under investigation is a Republican, every person indicted is a Republican. This is a Republican finance scandal. There is no evidence that Jack Abramoff ever gave any Democrat any money, and we’ve looked through all those FEC reports to make sure that’s true.
BLITZER: [Stammering] But through various Abramoff-related organizations, and outfits, a bunch of Democrats did take money that presumably originated with Jack Abramoff.
DEAN: That’s not true either. There’s no evidence for that either, there’s no evidence…
BLITZER: What about Senator, what about, what about, what about Senator Byron Dorgan?
DEAN: Senator Byron Dorgan and some others took money from Indian tribes. They’re not agents of Jack Abramoff. There’s no evidence that I’ve seen that Jack Abramoff directed any contributions to Democrats. I know the Republican National Committee would like to get the Democrats involved in this. They’re scared. They should be scared. They haven’t told the truth, and they have misled the American people, and now it appears they’re stealing from Indian tribes. The Democrats are not involved in this.
BLITZER: [Long pause, apparently getting direction in his earpiece] [Sigh] Unfortunately, we, uh, Mr. Chairman, we’ve got to leave it right there.
Talk radio (at least the local guy here) played that portion of the show and followed on by characterizing Wolf’s reaction as if Dean had told such a whooper even Wolf couldn’t believe it.
Perspective is a difficult thing, you take from it what you want.
#12 – I don’t miss the mindless chatter of the ‘trolls’ repeating the talking-points they hear from Rush, Fox News, and other radical-right mouthpieces.
I do miss the level headed Republicans who voice opinions that are different from what they’ve been told to think. While they are in short supply, they do provide opinions that are more than just “Rush told me to say ‘ditto’ and that you’re all going to hell! It was all Clintons fault!!!” ;-)
Maybe it’s because the yahoo’s calling themselves conservatives…..aren’t. Seems that anyone who favored limited government, financial restraint & responsibility, integrity wouldn’t be supporting bushco. Now the peanut gallery….Sure, they’ll support the new fuehrer and still call themselves conservative.
I agree. These are facists not conservatives. A “president” who thinks he is a king. This war criminal did better when he was sniffing and drinking. I thought Nixon was the worst, but Bush makes him look like a choirboy. He needs to be impeached with Cheney and the rest of the cabal. The religious right needs to wake up and see that they are being used. How dare Bush call himself a Christian? It’s double bad for me who is a social liberal and fiscal conservative.

January 10th, 2006 at 1:54 pmBush: All Hat. No Cattle.
Abramoff: All Boat. No Paddle.

I hope the Democrats get their voice back, and start to tell the truth about Abramoff: We didn’t get money from Abramoff, Republicans were the ones!
“The hottest places in Hell are reserved for those who in time of great moral crises maintain their neutrality.” — Aleghieri Dante (1265 – 1321)
I guess Pres. Bush was correct on one thing: you’re either against the corrupt people who took money from corrupt Abramoff, or you’re for them!

But noooo. Duck, dodge and hide.
Talk about the real moral cowards.
