I knew you couldn’t resist! Just like Pavlov’s dog! Too funny. Actually my comments about justified defense were intelligent and reasonable. So was my observation that you leaped to erroneous conclusions about me. The bit about a less interesting country was intelligent. The mini-sermon about progressives being a losing minority was intelligent though rather obvious. The bit about stolen elections was both intelligent and rather witty. The line about monikers wasn’t particularly intelligent. Actually it was rather snide but quite truthful. As for waiting for your response, not terribly mature of me but I did have a lot of fun with it.
The closest comment of yours to intelligence was the “over your heads” although, as you see, it was too easy to parry. Now that I think about it, your moniker line wasn’t too bad so I give you half-credit. Isn’t this fun? An intelligent person (me) and a self-styled progressive (you) excercising our right to free speech. By the way, why didn’t you respond to post #48 by Bobbytoo who introduced threats of violence and vigilantism into your peaceful, progressive blog (snicker). I always enjoy listening to progs praise the intelligence and judicial temperment of “swing” Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. Just as long as she swings their way on the liberal bedrocks of abortion, affirmative action etc. she is a centrist. I get it. The outcome and NOT the law is the most important. When convenient Catholic, (and aptly named) Dick Durbin, deemed it necessary to wear his heart on his sleeve, it was too funny having Alito quietly lecture the august Senator from Illinois that he was merely following the law PASSED BY CONGRESS (and might be changed by Congress) regarding search and seizures (in the oft touted outrage about ’strip searches’ of 10 year olds.) As Alito noted, drug dealers MIGHT tend to hide their drugs on minors. Who knew??

Why is it that Alito feels that he shouldn’t comment on his PERSONAL beliefs about Roe v. Wade, saying that it wouldn’t be right, because the issue could come before him on the S.C.? Too funny! The Senator says that he thinks there are those who have decided to vote against the nominee and you call him a liar?! Come on, just try to convince anybody with a pulse that Kennedy, Schumer, Durbin and a handful of other liberals didn’t have their mind made up before the nominee’s name was even announced! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Clearly some Senators intended to vote for him and others against him before they even knew who “he” was. We can only hope that at least some Senators will make an effort to form a real decision of their own. Alito will be confirmed. The only question is how much squirming, whining and posturing various politicians do before that.
