(Hair not included.) The Hill newspaper is keeping tabs on the race here. And if their tally is to be believed, your next Majority Leader will be Roy Blunt. The election is set for February 2nd so there’s time yet for Smokin’ John Boehner to gain some ground. (Also, dark horse John Shadegg threw his hat into the ring today.)
They are all crooks, so it doesn’t really matter to me.

January 13th, 2006 at 11:25 amNow we know where Bill got the idea of the cigar. At least he had the sense to take it out of his nose.
January 13th, 2006 at 11:37 amso, will we end up with a Boehner, or will we be smoking a Blunt?
January 13th, 2006 at 11:38 amRoy Blunt will get the job.
But whoever wins will still be more competant than Nancy Pelosi.
Pelosi appoints corrupt Democrats to “clean up the house” (as she did yesterday by appointing Abramoff-linked members and House Bank check bouncers to that commission)
Pelosi also goes down to Jamaica for five days on a junket while decrying the trip to Scotland.

January 13th, 2006 at 11:55 amI find it surprising that the GOP wouldn’t use TAM to rid themselves of DeLay’s lieutenants, and still think that my happen.
On the other hand, as a partisan, keeping tainted Rs in positions of power works just fine for me. As TAM unfolds let Blunt serve the public as a constant reminder.
January 13th, 2006 at 11:55 amMeet the new boss, same as the old boss.
January 13th, 2006 at 11:59 amThe fact is that the Abramoff Scandal has produced no negative effect against the GOP.
The public recognizes that a few Democrats and Republicans were involved with Abramoff. People like Ney, Harry Reid, Byron Dorgan, and 2 others or so.
Speaker Hastert has the solutions which will reform the house and show that the GOP is the party of reform.

January 13th, 2006 at 12:10 pmThe GOP is the party of country clubs and boardrooms. Tax cuts for the rich and powerful, modern day oligarchs. Praise the lord, and pass the ammunition!!

January 13th, 2006 at 12:14 pm#6 – Nope, the worst is Newt Gingrich conducting “ethics” courses for the GOP. How ethical is it to impeach Pres. Clinton when you’re screwing around on your wife with a staffer? Or serving your wife divorce papers while she’s recuperating from surgery?
Nobody can beat out the Republicans for un-ethical behavior.
January 13th, 2006 at 12:16 pm#10 – Give it time. Once the public can get past the spinning by the radical righties, the truth will smack the GOP upside the head.
There is still not one Democrat listed as having taken money from Abramoff, no matter what the spinners try to state. The facts are still the facts.

Yeah, nothing negative other than the public wants the Senate and House majority party gone. That’s not negative I guess.
