Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO) now claims he has enough votes to win the race for House Majority Leader.
This morning on Fox, Blunt was asked about the fact that his political action committees have paid $485,000 to the Alexander Strategy Group, the lobbying firm at the heart of the DeLay-Abramoff corruption scandals. Blunt responded, “I’m pretty sure that…figure is absolutely not accurate.”
Actually, it’s precisely accurate. From a Public Citizen report released Friday:
Ten of Blunt’s biggest contributors have hired ASG as their lobbying firm. Blunt’s committees paid ASG $485,485 since 1999 for fundraising and consulting services. ASG’s clients, meanwhile, have funneled $581,866 into Blunt’s committees.
Blunt spokeswoman Burson Taylor was asked to respond to the report by the Washington Post. She dismissed the findings as “a rehash of old charges,” but apparently did not challenge their accuracy.
Some characterize it as evading the truth; others call it lying. In either case, it rolls off his tongue with the ease of familiarity.
January 15th, 2006 at 11:30 amIf I were Blunt’s mama I would wash his mouth out with soap for lying like that.
January 15th, 2006 at 11:34 amThey still won’t defend “Pay to Play”. They’ve been doing “K-street” all these years and not one of them will defend the “pay for access” philosophy. Not one.
January 15th, 2006 at 11:39 amRoy Blunt is one of the most corrupt members of Congress.
*******
Legislative Assistance for Philip Morris
In 2003, Rep. Blunt divorced his wife of 31 years to marry Philip Morris (now Altria) lobbyist Abigail Perlman. Before it was known publicly that Rep. Blunt and Ms. Perlman were dating — and only hours after Rep. Blunt assumed the role of Majority Whip — he tried to secretly insert a provision into Homeland Security legislation that would have benefitted Philip Morris, at the expense of competitors.
In addition, Rep. Blunt’s son Andrew lobbies on behalf of Philip Morris, a major client he picked up only four years out of law school. Notably, Altria is Rep. BluntÃs largest campaign contributor, having donated more than $270,000 to political committees tied to him.
Legislative Assistance for United Parcel Service, Inc. and FedEx Corp.
In 2003, Rep. Blunt also helped his lobbyist son Andrew by inserting a provision into the $79 billion emergency appropriation for the war in Iraq to benefit U.S. shippers like United Parcel Service, Inc. and FedEx Corp. The provision required that military cargo be carried only by companies with no more than 25% foreign ownership. UPS and FedEx were seeking to block the expansion of a foreign-owned rivalÃs U.S. operations. Andrew Blunt lobbies on behalf of UPS in Missouri, and UPS and FedEx have contributed at least $58,000 to Rep. Blunt since 2001.
Members of the House are prohibited from “taking any official actions for the prospect of personal gain for themselves or anyone else.” 5 CFR ßsect;2635.702(a). By pushing for legislation that would benefit Philip Morris and UPS, and, as a consequence, his then-girlfriend and his son, Rep. Blunt may have violated this provision.
Federal law also prohibits public officials from directly or indirectly demanding, seeking, receiving, accepting or agreeing to receive or accept anything of value in return for being influenced in the performance of an official act. If Rep. Blunt accepted campaign contributions from Philip Morris, FedEx or UPS in exchange for legislative assistance, he may have violated the bribery statute.

January 15th, 2006 at 11:40 amEthics and integrity, not to mention morality, are not prerequisites for Republican Senator. In fact, the lack of those qualities is required.
January 15th, 2006 at 11:48 amBlunt is among the worst of them.
Remember the Duke? Blunt is his brother.

I’m going to love having him in power for a few days.
January 15th, 2006 at 12:01 pmIt sounds like he’s a perfect replacement for the Bugman.
January 15th, 2006 at 12:02 pmWhere are the rest of the indictment’s we have been waiting for.? Why isnt this scumbag looter being arrested along with the many others.? The legal process is taking so long it is unbelievable. Any non politician law breaker would of been arrested, gone to trial and be serving time already. Our local papers would of put the ordinary bad guy on trial daily, front page, these guy’s get away with murder and not even a line on the back page. Geeeeeees.
January 15th, 2006 at 12:03 pmjust more business as usual with the republicans
indict one criminal, another pops up to take his place
it’s like whack a mole
apparently, we need more mallets, tho
January 15th, 2006 at 12:06 pmEthics and integrity, not to mention morality, are not prerequisites for Republican Senator. In fact, the lack of those qualities is required.

Marie,
All one need do to see the proof of your statement above is read the posts of republiscum inbreds I-Right-I, Gary Ruppert, and Real American on this issue…
They really do vote their Party before country, ethics, and “real” morality…
January 15th, 2006 at 12:12 pmCheck out I-RIGHT-I from the Iran is the New Iraq thread. This pussy has been called out by numerous people including me and he continues to make these empty threats. These people, just like George Bush are tough talking pussy that hide behind their momma skirt.
January 15th, 2006 at 12:28 pmWe are going to replace one corrupt with another corrupt. This does not make any sense. Why are the Republican having a secret vote? We need to know who they are going to vote for. Is it only the Republican that get to vote on the House Majority leader?
January 15th, 2006 at 12:34 pmTime for a little humor:
His wife, Abigail Blunt, used to lobby for tobacco giant Philip Morris lobbyist and now does so for a sister company, Kraft Foods. The congressman’s daughter, Amy Blunt, is a registered lobbyist in Washington, and his son, Andrew, represents a host of businesses in Jefferson City, Mo.
January 15th, 2006 at 12:37 pmThe congressman has said his wife and children don’t lobby him and he denies any impropriety.
Let’s see, the Contract for America called for taking illegal money, getting in bed with lobbyists and then when caught, start whining about being a victim.
Mission accomplished.

January 15th, 2006 at 12:38 pmThis Blunt guy is an obvious Klingon. Shadegg looks like a head-on DNA collision between Limbaugh and Gingrich. The third guy didn’t even register with me — which makes him either a vampire, an android or a death-walker straight from the 7th Bardo.
Do the Corrupticons have ANY potential candidates for HML who aren’t just pure, extruded, industrial-strength evil?
January 15th, 2006 at 12:42 pmBlunt responded, “I’m pretty sure that…figure is absolutely not accurate.â€
Typical Greasy Lawyer doubletalk.
Im Pretty sure, but im not, that, figure is , but isnt, absolutley, but not/is absolutely accurate/inaccurate.
Sounds like something IRI or Wwallce would Say…

How come you don’t delete comments anymore. I’m tired of John Doe’s SPAM. Block his IP
January 15th, 2006 at 12:48 pmNico,
A note of trivia:
Blount is from Missouri (MO) not Michigan (MI).
Some Troll from Missouri or fan from Michigan might complain.
Now you know somebody is awake on Sunday morning.
Thanks for the good work.
January 15th, 2006 at 12:49 pmRepubs are running scared, they are trying to PASS as much of their legislation as possible. Bush has signed, or basically nullified every Bill. Most of what congress has done, thru signings, to me, comes to naught. Im not a lawyer, So i expect to be slightly wong here. Please Correct me If I am. Thx
January 15th, 2006 at 12:51 pmHey you know that guy looks like Bones on Star Trek
Beam Me up Scotty, theres no Intelligence here in Congress!
January 15th, 2006 at 12:53 pmRep. Blunt must RESIGN from the House of Representatives!
January 15th, 2006 at 12:55 pmThe corruption in DC must come to an end immediately!
HAIRY THRUST,
I am thinking that he looks more like Eric the Midget from the Howard STern Whack Pack.

Forgot what Pundit said that.
Perhaps she was speaking of the Corrupt ones..those THAT are killing US are ‘Corrupt Congressman’
January 15th, 2006 at 1:00 pmlol Spudge.
January 15th, 2006 at 1:00 pmMary Poppin – Well, yes this is an internal vote only for Republicans. No one else has a say. The majority gets to decide the Speaker/Majority Leader/Whip, what comes up to vote in the House, etc.
January 15th, 2006 at 1:14 pmOh yeah, I forgot.
YEA!!!!! BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!
And my secondary team:
Yea!!!! SEAHAWKS!!!!!
That’ll make a great:

January 15th, 2006 at 1:21 pmAll in the family:
Texas prosecutors recently subpoenaed records of a series of financial transactions in 2000 between DeLay and Blunt that were highlighted in a recent AP story.
DeLay raised more money than he needed to throw parties at the 2000 Republican National Convention and sent some of the excess to Blunt through a series of donations that benefited the causes of both men.
After transfers between political organizations, some of the money went to the campaign of Blunt’s son, Matt, in his successful 2000 campaign for secretary of state. Now the Republican governor of Missouri, Matt Blunt eventually received more than $160,000 in 2000.

Comment by Don #14
Don,
I believe Sly and the Family Stone predicted this scenario in the ’70’s…
“It’s a family affaaaaiir…”
January 15th, 2006 at 2:14 pmBlunt says “I’m pretty sure that…figure is absolutely not accurate.†What that probably means is $485,000 is a matter of public record, and there’s probably triple that figure we don’t know about. Thus Blunt can truthfully say that $485,000 isn’t accurate. That’s the way these sleezeballs comfort themselves that they’re telling the truth.
January 15th, 2006 at 2:16 pmIsn’t “Falsely denies” a double negative? If you’re reading this literally. “Falsely states” would be more appropriate.
January 15th, 2006 at 2:32 pmout with one crook, in with another with a long line of more.
January 15th, 2006 at 2:54 pmImpeach the republican pary may be what it will take to get the crooks out. Some dems. are in the mix too,so we have a very corrupt gov. Now we’re left picking the lessor of two evils when we vote. Our leaders vote they way they want to, never mind what the American people want. Sad because of how the founding fathers set it up to protect us from this very thing.
You mean Fox got something right?
January 15th, 2006 at 3:07 pmthis is why the “culture of corruption,” is such a fitting slogan for the GOP.
January 15th, 2006 at 3:11 pmIf Blunt is involved in the republican/abramhoff scandal, he won’t be the House Majority Leader for long.
January 15th, 2006 at 3:53 pmWouldn’t it be great to have a second House Majority Leader go down in the matter of a few months. That would really expose the Culture of Corruption.
January 15th, 2006 at 4:51 pmFOr the person who pointed out that the disgusting sentator Blunt (R-MO) is from Missouri and not from Michigan (MI), I thank you.
Both Michigan senators are Democrats (thank God) and though Michigan has it’s share of creepy Republicans, such as Blunt (R-MO), I do not believe the people of the state of Michigan would send such a person to represent us in the senate.
I believe it is the fresh, crisp air from Canada that keeps are minds active and alert against such evil, corrupt Republicanism.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!
January 15th, 2006 at 6:15 pmNow that the middle class has been sold out and as more and more of us move into the unemployment lines and welfare roles, the government, who forced this, sell off of the American dream has also turned it’s back on it’s citizens. You know, the ones who can’t afford their medications, the one’s who can no longer pay the amount of taxes we used to support this country with, the ones who are thrown into the gutter as an expendable worthless commodity. “WE THE PEOPLE” We who are called unpatriotic for standing up for our Inaliable rights as guaranteed by our constitution , can not idly standby as the laws and institutions that have been set in place to ward off such evil plans and devices are shredded before our eyes in the name of the Almighty Fascist camp of George W. Bush and fueled by fear and deceit . When in fact we the people now live in fear of the government and how it will crush its citizens next. Any, government that, allows it’s own policies to deny it’s elderly access to life saving medications as the new Medicaid/Medicare have done in the latest attempt to kill off those who remember what it means to have civil rights and will not live thru this so called transition period before being allowed access to those medications that they where promised just last month. Just like our freedoms and liberties where here yesterday and gone when Alito is confirmed. These crooked bastards make Don Corleone wet himself with glee and approval. Except Vito had class and looked after the people.
January 15th, 2006 at 6:32 pmShaggydogg on Fox says:
“I’m poison, but not as poisonous as “Blunt” and “Bombmaker”…
“I’ll restore confidence in the House’s integrity even if I have to bribe every member to do it!”
hahahahahahahaha
January 15th, 2006 at 6:45 pmThis is a government that is hell bent on us all being sold off to the highest bidder.
“What do you mean China just called in its note?
January 15th, 2006 at 6:58 pmThis is a government that is hell bent on us all being sold off to the highest bidder.
“What do you mean China just called in its note?
As I understand We have been getting loans from China to pay our debts.
January 15th, 2006 at 7:05 pmSince the United States –— once the “managerial-capitalist” mass production (”Fordist”) king of the manufacturing world –— doesn’t really make that much stuff anymore, it has now run up a yearly trade deficit of $700 billion. It has considerable trade deficits with just about everyone, including a $170 billion deficit with “Communist†China (Longworth, 2005).
January 15th, 2006 at 7:06 pmMore up to date figure;
May 24th, 2005
The United States currently owes China over $650 BILLION in debt. That number is expected to grow to over $1 Trillion during the next 2 years.
How is this possible?
In order to pay for its two recent wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Bush administration has been forced to loan money from, you guessed it, China.
Meanwhile the US Economy is slipping, and small wonder why. They are currently locked into a $162 billion/year trade deficit with China. The Chinese keep manufacturing products that Americans NEED and Americans keep on buying them. The problem is that the United States isn’t manufacturing much in return and sending it back to China. In fact, they’re manufacturing very little these days.
January 15th, 2006 at 7:09 pmGo Bushco.
You really know how to ‘SELL’ America.
Except it wont be the Neo-Kooks whom ‘OWN’ It..
January 15th, 2006 at 7:11 pmUnless IRI is Chinese.
Not only that but the College grads under Bush dont look good either.
As we all know he who holds the note owns the property. Now that we as a country can no longer pay our bills and the ones we do pay are done so with monies LOANED to us by a government who’s standards of human decency is a bullet in the head, YES CHINA, that great communist country who’s soul goal is to smash and loot this country is now the new owner of the land we walk on (from the inside out as outlined in the communists strategy)
As he who holds the note owns the property.
January 15th, 2006 at 7:16 pmINJUSTICE FOR ALL
After we have thrown our lives and bodies into the machine, they turn their backs though we can no longer straighten ours. The men who dedicated a lifetime to building the factories and machines and operate the presses and the assembly workers are now thrown away. While the fat cats find a new less demanding work force a work force that has no concept of a good standard of living, as anything that is better than a mud hole is acceptable. People who would and do sell their children into labor in order afford some cardboard to cover the mud hole. America is and has been being sold off piece by piece as they did to the factories in the 80’s demolished and scraped out as junk. We haven’t many left and the ones that are now demand that we as American citizens lower our standards of living as God forbid they might show a loss. A loss that is derived by projecting what they (the Fat Cats) think they should make this year and anything less than that is considered a loss. NOT Income less overhead = profit but anything less than a made up number.
Now that the middle class has been sold out and as more and more of us move into the unemployment lines and welfare roles, the government, who forced this, sell off of the American dream has also turned it’s back on it’s citizens. You know, the ones who can’t afford their medications, the one’s who can no longer pay the amount of taxes we used to support this country with, the ones who are thrown into the gutter as an expendable worthless commodity.
As he who holds the note owns the property .
Our Civil rights are almost all gone, *for the first time in the history of this nation, federal agents and police officers have the right to conduct black-bag “sneak-and-peek†searches of homes and offices without first notifying you of their intent or without you even being present. Government officials can detain permanent residents indefinitely without charging them with a crime, almost on a whim or a mere suspicion. Moreover, law enforcement investigators can use roving wiretaps to listen in on your phone conversations. * Does this sound familiar something they do somewhere else, like China! We are told it’s for our own good as we are led to the slaughter, the slaughter of the middle class, the slaughter of any stable economic base, like, technology and manufacturing. Unless you consider a stable economic base as being defined as huge stores who show huge profits by selling goods made by mud hut dwelling children for 10 cents a month in China, and then tell us we must lower our standards of living in order to compete and be an equal worker.
So the next time you demand your rights as a taxpayer remember that, that money is owed to a country who would crush us and we, the American citizens, are the collateral and pay the price with our lives, homes and freedom.
AND THAT’S JUSTICE ????!!!!
January 15th, 2006 at 7:18 pmOh come on Roy. It will be just perfect to have you indicted while you are House Majority Leader. After all, you represent the majority party of the most corrupt government ever to rule America. The party of big business and fear. W is their king. You’ll look good in horizonal stripes. Maybe you and Duke can share a room and talk about the good old days.
January 15th, 2006 at 8:21 pmA Former Republican
That was some excellent financial nightmare but it is an illusion. There is no collateral for the debt that China is buying. They buy US Treasury notes with the cash that Wal-Mart gives them but they could just as easily buy Euros and sell the $s in the market. There are ramifications to their holding the debt but not as described here.
January 15th, 2006 at 9:03 pmRep. Blunt is a thug > just look at his face, he is smug
January 15th, 2006 at 9:46 pmand defiant! He would sell his grandmother into slavery for money! The GOP is filled with corruption!!!
“Rep. Blunt is a thug > just look at his face, he is smug and defiant!”
January 15th, 2006 at 10:12 pmI’m sure that photo was chosen to illicit that exact response.
Be grateful that you dont live in Misery. We also have a Blunt for Gov. This state is one of the most backwards in the nation. STL and KC are fairly normal , but surrounded by hillbillies and rednecks. Only dumb ass rednecks would elect a Blunt for Gov. and Congress. How embarassing.
January 16th, 2006 at 12:25 amI hope we can take him down and put him out of our Misery.
[...] Roy Blunt, the heir apparent to former House Majority Leader, Tom Delay, lied on Fox News Sunday (Fair and Balanced? The network should be called RNC Spin) about his connection to Abramoff. No big surprise there but it says a lot about the GOP’s [lack of] committment to REAL reform given that they are replacing the corrupt Delay with the almost equally-corrupt Blunt. [...]
January 16th, 2006 at 10:16 amThey all look like crooks and liars.
January 16th, 2006 at 1:44 pm[...] (via thinkprogress.org) Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MI) now claims he has enough votes to win the race for House Majority Leader. [...]
January 16th, 2006 at 2:03 pmThere are many reasons to reject Roy Blunt’s bid to become the House Majority Leader. This is one more reason to do so. Actually, given his ineffectiveness as Tom DeLay’s interim replacement, the Left should shut up and let the GOP make its own mistake on this one, like they did with Harriet Miers.
However, in a manner reminiscent of the Miers nomination, there are conservatives out there who are pushing for a thorough “house cleaning” (pun intended). See, for example, the questionnaire composed by Hugh Hewitt for completion by all leadership applicants (posted at http://www.hughhewitt.com on January 15, 2006, at 07:48 AM PST):

[END EXCERPT]
This is humor with a purpose. As you can see, the right side of the blogosphere holds conservative politicians to a much higher ethical standard, compared with the standards imposed on liberal politicians by the bloggers on the Left. Exhibit A: not one liberal has demanded that Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) return his Abramoff-tainted money – which he publicly has refused to do. Exhibit B: the demands of Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA) to be paid for his support of a telecommuniations deal.
Reid and Jefferson should be held to the same standard as any other politician, yet their partisan allies continue to defend them. Democrats are about to shoot themselves in the foot again on this issue. Just wait and see.
January 16th, 2006 at 2:11 pmHere’s a suggestion (I know it might be a foreign concept for many “brave” bash-BOTS here, but…)
A.) Let’s do AWAY with ALL lobbying and “bundling” – including, but not exclusively, Emily’s List, defense contractors, environmentalists, pharmaceutical companies, labour unions, tobacco companies, NRA, Christian PAC’s, Jewish PAC’s, importers, exporters, farmers, manufacturers, welfare mom’s, ACLU, ABA, SCLC, NAACP, etc, etc,
B.) ONLY individual contributions (raise the limit to $10,000.-) to a candidate or party
C.) Individuals may only contribute to races in which they are a constituent. (i.e. No Progs from CA donating to Hillary’s Senate campaign, No Conservatives from San Diego contributing to Jeb Bush’s gubnatorial campaign.)
Now I know the left loves “free speech” (sometimes!) and they often note that “money is not speech” so let EVERYONE welcome this stance to rid our system of ALL “special interest” money!!!
OK, now I ready to be called a mysoginist b#t$h by those who CANNOT argue an issue…
January 16th, 2006 at 2:31 pmFun things to know and tell about ethics…for $23,000,000.00 this had better be good. It better name the people responsible for killing JFK for instance. Or prove the existence of God, or teach me how to make a baking powder biscuit that rises. The problem with this is the fact that somebody screwed around, had a great time and spent $23,000,000.00 telling us what we already knew, that Bill and Henry are scumbags. Spending $23,000,000.00 of MY money on an investigation is itself an act of criminal negligence. I say hang all the bastards and start over.
Last Independent Counsel Report Set For ‘Release’; Focus On Clinton Administration
Sun Jan 15 2006 19:35:32 2006
In Monday’s edition of the NEW YORK SUN, reporter Brian McGuire and contributor R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr., break the first look at the long-anticipated report from Independent Counsel David Barrett, whose investigation lasted 10 year and cost taxpayers $23 million.
The SUN outlines the report’s details surrounding the alleged illicit activity and cover up that involving former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Henry Cisneros before and during his time in the Clinton Administration.
The Sun reveals that the Barrett report connects the dots that allege that senior officials of the Clinton Administration hindered investigations by the IRS in both Texas and Washington, as well as the investigations of a grand jury examining the independent counsel’s evidence.
The full report, more than 400 pages line, with more than 100 pages of redacted material, hits the street on Thursday morning at 9 am.
Democrats in the House and Senate have been fighting for months to block the release of the report and keep the 100 pages of highly damaging redacted material from ever seeing the light of day.

January 16th, 2006 at 2:48 pm#59 Blue State Red,
BSR babbled on a bit: “Exhibit A: not one liberal has demanded that Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) return his Abramoff-tainted money – which he publicly has refused to do.” — Once again you claim that Reid accepted tainted money from Abramoff, yet it is quite clear that Abramoff, personally, didn’t donate money to Reid, nor did the client’s of Abramoff’s lobbying firm have any type of quid-pro-quo agreement exchanging bribes for votes or legislation. If, in the course of the investigation of Abramoff, something to the contrary comes out, I will be the first to yell for Reid’s indictment. But as it currently stands, Reid is not guilty of anything other than being a Democrat, and as such, he is now a target of yet another right-wing smear campaign.
BSR blabbed some more: “Exhibit B: the demands of Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA) to be paid for his support of a telecommuniations deal.” — If, indeed William Jefferson accepted bribes, then he should be indicted. As it currently stands, it is a former aide of Jefferson, Brett Pfeffer, who is awaiting trial on bribery charges. As stated above in regards to Reid, if evidence comes to light that Jefferson accepted bribes or broke the law, then he should be indicted and brought to justice.
BSR succumbing to swamp fever, blabbed some more: “Reid and Jefferson should be held to the same standard as any other politician, yet their partisan allies continue to defend them.†— Agreed, neither have been indicted for a crime. Any citizen, with just a bit of common sense and love for America, would agree that a politician who commits criminal acts, regardless of political party affiliation, is a danger to this country and our freedoms, and as such, he or she should be removed from office and be brought to justice.
It’s unfortunate that you continue to make broad-based claims and assumptions that are not founded in facts. Take for instance your statement: “As you can see, the right side of the blogosphere holds conservative politicians to a much higher ethical standard, compared with the standards imposed on liberal politicians by the bloggers on the Left.” How does a single Hugh Hewitt “humorous” questionnaire prove that conservative politicians and right-leaning blogs hold the current crop of Republicans to a higher standard? You are making quite a large leap of logic in making such a statement.
Take a moment to walk around that “Blue†state you live in and you will find that your prejudices are quite possibly unjustified, as most people don’t resemble the extreme caricatures you paint them to be. I, for one, could care less about these labels and arbitrary political distinctions you use as a basis for you assumptions and arguments. You already have made your decision on matters and only look to find facts that support your views, whereas a rational person forms their views from the facts. This extreme bias you hold is affecting your ability to see things objectively. You should really quit hanging out in this “fever swamp,†it’s affecting your mental faculties.

January 16th, 2006 at 3:15 pmThis is a rare occurance, indeed, but I agree with you (at least in regard to this last post).

Nonsense. All one really needs to know about “Blue” states is that they habitually vote in liberal Democrats. One should conclude from this fact alone that those voters who hold the majority in that state are morally corrupt, ignorant lemmings and are willing accomplices of the radical Left and their demented programs for this country.
January 16th, 2006 at 3:41 pmIRI has no answers for you – just more bull to try to cover the truth. IRI you aren’t arguing or even discussing a point. Read what you just wrote. Now, isn’t that stupid?

I’gnorant-R’odent-I’mbecile,
For inbreds like yourself “knowing” that “Blue” states are more populous, more productive, and have more educated populations would be pretty upsetting facts…
January 16th, 2006 at 7:46 pmThe posted article lists Blunt as a congressman from MI. That’s the abbreviation for Michigan, not Missouri.
Please don’t give him to us. I know the good progressives of Missouri don’t want him, but we Michiganians won’t take him off your hands.

January 17th, 2006 at 12:14 amQuestion
Why is Democratic Strategist Steve McMahon saying on Hardball that the Abramoff scandal is not that bad, and that it’s really only a handful of people?
Why is a Democratic Strategist downplaying the importance and seriousness of the Abramoff scandal?
The only answer I can assume, is he is really a double agent, or the Democrats are gluttons for punishment, and just want to keep on losing.
Why is this guy still talking on Harball? Why was’nt he fired after he got everything wrong in 04?
Steve McMahon is the Democrats version of Mike Brown.
Steve, you’re doing a heckuva job….

January 17th, 2006 at 8:59 am#58 Yes, The New York Sun would be the first place I’d go for late breaking news from the Repulsive Rule Book play #2, ALWAYS blame Clinton. It’s wearing a bit thin after 5 plus years. You know we now have a uniter as President with “political capital”, which he needs to start spending. I think he might be overdrawn soon and need some more wars to help his popularity.
Get your head out of the dirt. It’s not about Clinton it’s about spying King George II. Gosh, just think how many, many more places that money could have been spent to help people with no health insurance because of the policies of this corrupt administration or other causes. Causes such as child care for foster care for babies no Repulsives will adopt. Let alone I’m sure there are still some millionaires that need some more tax relief which that money could go to. Heck, W could just write them a check.
It’s so easy to talk the talk: No Child left behind, Family values, ad nausem…… Not even King George can connect all the dots he has left in his quest to be the most corrupt leader in our nation’s history.
W you’re doing a heck of a job. IMPEACH BUSH
