Impeach Bush yourself! That's right. This is much more than just a petition.

There's a little known and rarely used clause of the in the rules for
the House of Representatives which sets forth the various ways in
which a president can be impeached. Only the House Judiciary
Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that
happens, someone has to initiate the process.

That's where we come in. One of the ways to get impeachment going is
for individual citizens like you and me to submit a memorial.
ImpeachforPeace.org has created a new memorial based on one which was
successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find
it on their website as a PDF.

You can initiate the impeachment process yourself by downloading the
memorial, filling in the relevant information in the blanks (your
name, state, etc.), and sending it in.

http://ImpeachForPeace.org/ImpeachNow.html

More information on the precedent for submitting an impeachment
memorial, and the House Rules on this procedure, can also be found at
the above address.

If you have any doubts that Bush has committed crimes warranting
impeachment, read this page: http://ImpeachForPeace.org/evidence/

If you're concerned that impeachment might not be the best strategy
at this point, read the
bottom of this page: http://ImpeachForPeace.org/

It just takes a minute to save our democracy.

[...] Part of this administration’s problem is incompetence, but beneath that incompetence are attitudes and policies that aren’t going to work no matter who implements them. Notice how the administration is all too happy to claim it has the right to violate FISA law, but feels compelled to respect agreements made with Iran. The Deeply Ironic administration at work. Will Fourth Year Bring Civil War or Peace in Iraq? After three years at war, Iraq is at what many people believe to be a crossroads: There have been both tentative steps toward a stable democratic government and menacing moves toward civil war. The ones who are worried about this are not freinds of this country. The other ones squaking about this have their own agendas and are trying to sieze a weak opportunity

[...] Meanwhile, in an interview with George Stephanopoulos, Alren Spector (R-PA) - who has stated that he will hold hearings on the constitutionality of Bush’s warrantless domestic spying program - said that if it is determined that Bush did indeed break the law, both impeachment and criminal prosecution are legitimate remedies: STEPHANOPOULOS: You know, if the president did break the law or circumvent the law, what’s the remedy? SPECTER: Well, the remedy could be a variety of things. A president — and I’m not suggesting remotely that there’s any basis, but you’re asking, really, theory, what’s the remedy? Impeachment is a remedy.
America generally tend to dislike the idea of impeachment, and most American voters will tend to reject candidates who call for impeachment. So this is a lose/lose issue for Democrats. I hope MSM and the fever swamp Left keep pushing it.

I too agree on impeachment. I have a different angle though. If the NSA knowingly violated their charter by listing without warrents and did not obtain legal opinion, why can't they be disassembled by an act of congress? I mean just because the president says do this because I said so, I cannot believe they didn't bounce it off some lawyer or policy wonk. If they didn't, maybe some swift and severe sanctions toward the NSA would get them in line the next time we have a boy king in power.

-Sure it’s speculation, but I just don’t think we’d be in this Iraq mess if Bush hadn’t stolen the first election

Comment by unbelievable #48

No doubt…

----
Of the possible/probable outcomes of the 'honest' interpretation of the 2000 election is that Gore would be President, and the bush guy would have gone back to Tejas where he would have continued to sign death warrents on the condemned prisoners-the numbers of which may at this time be at the 2000 level. Ironically, near the same as 'our' dead in Iraq. Too slow for the bush but not as near the 'hard work'.

My question is: What happens when the supply of frogs meets the demand of firecrackers?

I'm new as far as posting to this site goes -- seems like there are an awful lot of Right Wing trolls around here. The thread is tough to follow with all the garbage they keep throwing into the mix.

Am I correct on this?

I hope the MSM keeps bringing up the fever swamp Left's favorite topic: the impeachmnent of George w. Bush. That will enable every Republican congressional candidate to demand a clear statement of his/her Democratic opponent's position on impeachment.

Numerous polls show that Americans understand and appreciate the President's national security goals, and that they support his decision to intercept internation communications involvong known or supected terrorists. The same polls indicate that they tend to give the President - not Congress - the benfit of the doubt in this area.

Raising the imeachment issue will only hurt Democrats and help Republicans in the 2006 elections. America generally tend to dislike the idea of impeachment, and most American voters will tend to reject candidates who call for impeachment. So this is a lose/lose issue for Democrats. I hope MSM and the fever swamp Left keep pushing it.

A vote against Alito by Feinstein is just a token gesture to help for her re-election bid.

If they don't have the votes, what does it matter who votes against him? It's just a token.

A filibuster would show they mean business. Anything less is just smoke and mirrors.

On Feinstein: We NEED a Patriot LIKE Paul Hackett, Military Veteran, to RUN AGAINST Ms. Feinstein in the California Democratic Primary.

Feinstein and Lieberman need OPPONENTS. Both have severely compromised OUR USA Civil/Political and International Options by their hedgey and questionable MOTIVES and ACTIONS..

As one who worked on Feinstein's Election, I MUST in Good Conscience to my Country ... CRY SHAME! SHAME DIANNE! SHAME! SHAME DIANNE FEINSTEIN...

Do You? Like Judy Miller, at the Vaunted NY Times betray US? Upon Completion? Will You Pray as Abramoff Did to his God as a Final Act of Forgiveness... absolving yourself?

SHAME DIANNE FEINSTEIN... CALIFORNIA and A NATION's Worth of Diverse CITIZENS... ANNOINTED YOU... and THIS.. is WHAT YOU PROVIDE? Are the WAR PROFITEER RUMORS and OTHERS sooo TRUE? SHAME DIANNE FEINSTEIN!

A filibuster must happen this week, but mealy-mouthed Feinstein warns against it. She’s supposedly voting against Alito (I’ll believe that when I see it) but she’s so impressed with Alito’s “even demeanor,” she says.

Has this woman Feinstein never heard of acting abilities and a candidate being well rehearsed for a comfirmation hearing and rehearsed to have an “even demeanor?

Mike,

She will realize alito's "acting abilities" when he brings back the ovens...
