    Traitors ,swift boat ‘em
    sarcasm off.

  2. dopey rethuglican says:

Yea but, what about the 1 in 1,000,000,000 case where they only have hours to go before a suspected attack and they have to make the suspected terrorist talk. That example should apply ALWAYS.

  3. Zookeeper says:

The Boy King will ignore them. What do they know anyway? Presidentin’ is hard work.

  4. WaltTheMan says:

  5. lilmadguy says:

Geez, like these people know anything about being Commander in Chief! Don’t they know Bu$h was protecting the Gulf of Mexico from communism in an outdated jet, while they were off playing soldier?

  6. Gus, OBGYN, Gigolo, Lover says:

Won’t be long and we’ll be hearing “We don’t negotiate with terrorists” coming from the other side…

  7. Lyle says:

I’m with the Generals and McCain. The administration needs to capitulate on this issue.

  8. Mark says:

You know until you torture a guy you really have no idea how powerful it makes you feel. Ummm, wait, that’s not whayt we torture. Until you torture a guy you really have no idea how good it feels, I mean you never really know what information he does nto know. WHoops, does know. Yes, that’s why we do it!

Anyone notice the hypocracy on trial? The president says we never torture. Then he says whatever we do is legal, implying that no crimes are ever being committed, yet we have sent several soldiers to prison because they tortured, but we don’t torture because everything we do is legal. If it’s all legal whay are they in prison? The only reason I can think of is that they embarrassed the WHite House.

  9. Gus, OBGYN, Gigolo, Lover says:

    Lyle,
Even when you side with the good guys you still sound like a man with small hands.

  10. Democrat Soldier says:

#9 – Don’t condemn Lyle just yet. It takes time to throw off the mental constraints that the Republican Party requires of their members.

Lyle, I’m glad you’re not saying “ditto!” to everything that comes from the radical-right. Torture, in any form, debases what True Americans stand for. This is the first step: realize that you may have been lied by the Republican party and their mouth-pieces.

The next steps come easier, but you have to think for yourself and investigate the claims. In fact, investigate the claims that come from BOTH sides, and the ones that come from elsewhere! You’ll soon find that the so-called Republicans are not quite as ‘conservative’ as they paint themselves to be.

  11. David says:

    #2- Call Jack Bauer.

  12. Chris Matthews says:

Why did they retire? They can’t handle the military life? They ‘fraid of bin Laden?

They’ll probably all fat like Michael Moore. They’re probably gonna go see Fudgepacker Mountain together adn go to Orvis and buy pup tents.

    HA HA HA !!!!!!!!

I am tough. And so is my hero, Commander in Chief “Codpeice” Bush – he’s a real man.

  13. catalyst says:

    #4 HAHAHA is that actionscript?

  14. catalyst says:

#12 are you joking or retarded?

  15. Evil Spaniard says:

#13 I fear the script in #4 wouldn’t work in Bush’s “processor”, 8086 can’t handle so complicated sentences.

  16. WaltTheMan says:

    #13,
    No, it’s gibberish.

  17. Zookeeper says:

#14 – Chris Matthews made an ass out of himself (again) comparing Osama Bin Laden to Michael Moore. Check DKos, by DarkSyde.

  18. cynical ex-hippie says:

If McCain’s amendment actually gets enforced, the next episode of 24 will be very boring. Can you imagine Jack Baur running breathlessly to make it to the FISA courty by the 72 hour deadline? People, don’t tie his hands like that!

  19. Pete Bogs says:

what’s unfortunate is that people only get this bold once they’re out of office and powerless to offer anything of value but criticism…

  20. Clyde the Ripper says:

It’s a good thing the Officers are retired or they would have been immediately. As it is the VA will find some reason to withdraw their retirement. Either play ball with King George the Dumb or the court jester will shove the bat up your ass.

  21. Keith H. says:

    Just waterboard junior already.

  22. dano347 says:

“Won’t be long and we’ll be hearing “We don’t negotiate with terrorists” coming from the other side…”

I think Scotty already used it, Gus. So going by historical precedent, we must be selling them weapons!

  23. Jesus says:

Once FREEDOM Has Been Given(Think about this for a Moment),
It Can NEVER Be Taken away.
Give Iraq, Afganistan Freedom. They Need It.
(Listen to your Pres. Bush, If you Dare).
    Sarcasm off.

  24. RemoveBush says:

#23 – Are you sure about that? Look at whats happening to our FREEDOM.

  25. Gerald Gibson says:

#17 .. I wonder if MSNBC knows how many people have stoped watching MSNBC purely because of Chris Matthews… I used to watch Chris every night. Now I wont even turn to that channel. I guess when Donnahue disappeared right after being critical of Bushes call for the Iraq war Chris found out that he could be next unless he learned to love Bush.

  26. Jane E. Schneider says:

Gerald, even if you skip Chris Matthews (and I don’t blame you in the least), stick with Keith Olbermann and Countdown. That’s the only thing worth watching on MSNBC. But make sure you switch the channel quickly after Keith is done, ’cause that Rita Cosby is a total waste of time. She is the worst interviewer that I’ve ever seen!

  27. cynical ex-hippie says:

#23 Yes, I’m sure if you look in any history book you will find no example ever in the history of humanity where freedom has been taken away. Is that your assertion?

Or is this more fake patriot Republican circle jerk?

  28. cynical ex-hippie says:

    oops, faulty sarcasm detector here

  29. Jesus says:

#24. I am Positive about that.
Big Brother cannot force freedom on you.

  30. Jesus says:

#27. Yes, That is Exactly what I mean.

  31. Jesus says:

You Do NOT Have to Worship “FALSE IDOLS”
You do NOT HAVE TO worship Freedumb.

  32. Jesus says:

#27. Except for Criminals that break the Law.

  33. Jesus says:

To compare Freedom with God is like comparing Bush to Kerry.

  34. Mark says:

    1 4 star
5 three stars (or Navy Equivalents)
9 two Stars (or Navy Equivalents)
    7 One Stars

Hoar is a biggie on the list. All of these people are the equivalent of fortune 500 CEO’s, but Hoar is way way up the ladder.

  35. Jesus says:

I was Crucified because of Sin. Sin Is free. I am Not.
    I can Only Forgive You.

  36. Zookeeper says:

#26 – I second that. Don’t miss Countdown, Gerald, Keith is smart and a gentleman. Chris Matthews (aka Tweety) has gone around the bend. I’ve noticed a definite slur in his voice, maybe he’s hitting the sauce? Rita Cosby — don’t get me started. *head bob*

  37. Democrat Soldier says:

#33 – So Freedom got his daddy to get him a select place in the Air National guard where he had his flight status revoked because he refused to take a physical (probably because when he was young and irresponsible, he was young and irresponsibly snorting the white happy powder), while God was swiftly-boated by people who never served with him during war and never spokw with people who served directly with him.

Wow, what an interesting concept! ;-)

  38. mr ho says:

In egypt the base of Judeo-christian religion, is the the name on the emerald tablet thoht? and thoht says? Elohim?
is this ir is this not correct?
The was Socrates Eloquent, for he was a Husband man. Socrate states that the flood was 9000 years ago?
    Physics goes even further back..

  40. Chris in AZ says:

mr ho…did you used to say “freedom is not free”

  41. Marie says:

    #25, Gerald,
Add my endorsement of Keith Olbermann’s Countdown on MSNBC. There isn’t much else worth watching on that channel, so I don’t blame you for never tuning in – who’d want to see Scarborough, or Carlson, or Cosby, or that twit Monica Crowley. Matthews used to be better than he has shown us in recent months, and I have grown to despise him. Olbermann is smart, funny, and not a Bush lover.
    #37 Zookeeper,
He used to be an alcoholic, but I understand he’s been dry about ten years.

  42. Marie says:

For clarification: Matthews used to be an alcoholic.

  43. Zookeeper says:

    #43 – Thanks, Marie. Matthews/wagon, hmmm.

  44. pellinore says:

    quote (post #14):

#12 are you joking or retarded?

If #12 really is Chris Matthews, then go with your second answer

  45. Blue State Red says:

These retired officers believe that it will be good for American troops, now and in the future, if the McCain amendment on treatment of detainees in U.S. custody is effectively and forcefully implemented. However they haven’t repudiated anything.

Bob Scales is one of the signatories to this letter. He’s a Fox news military analyst who agrees that there are times when extraordinary interrogation methods may be necessary to save lives. Heck, even McCain agrees with that. So the support for the McCain amendment, for many military experts, includes a wink and a nod to some of the more unpleasant necessities of war.

In that sense, they are in complete agreement with the President’s signing statement. The McCain amendment is mainly a propaganda tool that says we will try really hard to be nice, but we still will do whatever it takes to secure battlefied intelligence.

  46. Spudge_Boy says:

“Torture is wrong, and that’s why it was used by Bush as a JUSTIFICATION for overthrowing Saddam.”

Ding ding ding ding ding ding. Give that man a prize.

RightPunch, right on the nose again.

We overthrew Saddam because he was kidanpping people (rendition), putting them into prison forever (Gitmo), and torturing them (CIA).

Why do republicans want for America to be like Saddam’s Iraq?

  47. WaltTheMan says:

    #48 – Spudge_Boy ,
Egad, you can put logical thoughts together! Did you ever think about a career in Comp Sci?

  48. USA Patriot says:

    “22 high-level retired military leaders”

Hmmm, 22 is what percentage of the total number of retired military leaders?

    LOL

  49. USA Patriot says:

Spudge, no decent patriotic American would compare America to Iraq under Saddam Hussein.

  50. WaltTheMan says:

    #51 – USA Patriot,
Spudge_Boy is not comparing America to Iraq under Saddam Hussein. He is linking America under W to Iraq in total ciaos.

  51. USA Patriot says:

Walt, your inability to read is noted.

  52. WaltTheMan says:

    #53 – USA Patriot,
If you are insinuating that I am not a soothsayer, you are correct. However, I have read Goethe in the original German and Chaucer in Middle English. I have also read the Bible (King James Version) and the Quran (English translation).

  53. ElectricBassPlayer says:

    #51.

No decent American would countenance the overt human rights abuses, the systematic violations of international law, of military codes of conduct, of twisting and bending the meaning of Constitutional guarantees to the point of meaninglessness, either.

And yet here we are. Where are we going, is the question. I would not be so quick to condemn someone who warns we could be headed for a Saddam-style dictatorship. That person could be a canary in a coal mine.

  54. WaltTheMan says:

    Judd,
Note the time stamps on 49 – 55. Has EBP engineered a time machine?

  55. smedley says:

I say ban torture it has been for 500 years in Europe

The same torture could be used for torturing american troop captured by the insurgents as they are legallly fighting a battle of occupation… Yes the insurgents have the right to waterboard Americans who could give information to save inncocent Iraqi lives… Although I dissagree with the American Goverment doing the same …

Remember we all incuding Buddhist monks can resort to terrorism when a child of ours has been raped and murdered by a next door neighbour that remains Free …I can bet you anyone would terrorise that next door neighbour
