I was thinking today that a normal man would have buckled under all the scandal and illegal and unethical behavior and simply would have had a mental break. But Bush keeps chugging along. He’s a true sick f*ck.
No supprise Bush thinks he is above the law. He has had his Daddy pulling him out of the fire for years before being elected. When he was governer of
Texas, he violated the law trying to keep protestors away from the gov’s mansion ( sound familiar? Judge ruled against him, saying he was violating 1st amendment )
Why bother having courts or congress at all? If Bush is now the law because republicans pretend we’re in a generational war – then isn’t he already dictator/king/judge/jury? Why do these guys even pretend we have a democracy anymore if this imperial view is at the basis of their beliefs?
It’s so sad to see americans so fearful of a few petty thugs, that they’d throw out their constitution and american values to feel ‘protected’. How sad, how cowardly and how unamerican. If nuclear threats from the soviets didn’t deter us from protecting american civil liberties, then a few petty thugs doing so is a disgrace on republicans and their supposed ‘effectiveness’. Clearly that’s as much of a myth as the Abramoff donates to democrats myth.
The whole terrorist threat thing is mind control, like that stupid terror alert color thing. I agree with previous statements that we will never see the thing in green or blue, so why even have those colors. Just like why even have congress or judiciary, the Admin gets what they want, and are above the law.
And because fear is a basic human emotion, too many people have bought into it. It’s funny, rural America is the most fearful, and least likely to be attacked.
Bush may think he has complete and utter control of the citizens of this formerly fine country. He may feel that he’s somehow above all this (afterall, God talks to him, or some such blather). He may have been absent from history class when they taught such things, but he’s learned nothing about the collective power of an angry populace.
The Repukes in Congress better shape up and quick. Their jobs are on the line. So they’d better get their Boy Bush under control before the next election.
I’d like to see them grow some balls for a change and impeach the Bastard Boy King. They have every right, all the proof needed, and a huge obligation to do so!
And now Bush is saying the history of why they bungled Katrina so badly is “priveledged” information.
NPR right after Katrina had very good news segments proving the WH were in on meetings showing Katrina would flood New Orleans.
Dear Wiretapper, I’m off to make a phone call to the middle east in a few. I plan to discuss a lot of things regarding this war on terra and super secret stuff. Just thought I’d let you know however, that you have time enough to grab you a donut and a coffee because I need to go to the bathroom first. Ok. Bye bye.
Abramoff is successfully blackmailing the bush administration.
Bush has nominated the Abramoff prosecutor for a federal bench jobbie in New Jersey. RawStory has the details. The prosecutor has already resigned.
This could delay the Abramoff investigation. It could have all sorts of implications. Things could stall. Things could get lost or stolen. Oh my oh my.

Come on now, that Dubya is a reel smart guy! I mean, fighting a foreign war of occupation with borrowed money? That’s never been attempted in all of history! And if it has, I’m sure it worked out just fine.
Why not just eliminate the congress and the judiciary; with Bush in the White House, we have all we need. Just ask him.
He is supreme ruler, king of the realm, final arbiter of crime and punishment — not only did Jesus tell him so, but so did the ghost of Nixon.
Well, in the 90’s RETRO was in.
And out of that, we ellected a RETRO ADMINISRTATION.
WHATS OLD IS NEW AGAIN ~ Illegitimate war ~ Miltary abuse of civilians and detainees ~ Hostages held in the Middle East ~ Financial/GOP corruptions ~ Wire Taps in the guise of National Security ~ Looming Oil Embargo from the Middle East ~ The only thing that is missing is “The Draft”
13- Speaking of judicial shenanigans, saw that the judge who imposed the gag order on Sibel Edmonds, just coincidentally, is the same judge hearing Scooter’s trial.
On Olbermann tonight, they showed Bush using the “but Clinton” defense. That is a blatant contradiction of his previous justification that it is justified because 9/11 happened. If Bush can do this rapidly without a warrant because we’re at war, then previous presidents couldn’t have done it legally and thus their actions cannot be used to justify Bush’s actions.
Of course, both justifications are false anyway. There is no formal declaration of war, and the surveillance isn’t protecting us anyway unless it is restricted to people who we have evidence to get a warrant with and actually act on the evidence. Also, previous presidents used warrants so that comparison doesn’t apply either.
Time to turn off Murdoch fascist TV
and watch him go ARBUSTO.
No wonder the Network heads are moving around to FOX etc..Same SPIN.
The news of UPN and the WB merging into a single network to be renamed CW was big news but has quickly been eclipsed by an even bigger merger.
Media kingpin Rupert Murdoch has bought CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, CNN, CSPAN 1, 2, and 3, MSNBC and a host of smaller networks and will merge them with FOX News. In order to avoid an anti-trust lawsuit by the Federal Trade Commission, Murdoch held off from buying a controlling share of FSTV (Free Speech TV) , an independent progressive liberal channel with an annual operating budget of $229.67. The Murdoch merger cost $2,100,000,000,000.
“This way, mate,†said the Aussie billionaire, “no one can smear the conservatives by saying that they dominate the airways. You don’t like the content of the national network? Wait for the moon to enter in the second house, when Jupiter collides with Mars, wait until the satellite gets in that magical two degree latitudinal window, climb on your roof, cover your satellite dish with the same Reynolds wrap that you use to make your hats and then watch FSTV. So don’t complain to me about a monopoly.â€
No checks and balances, yeah thats the ticket.
