Gosh, that is SO tragic! The poor bastige has clearly lost his already tenuous hold on reality. Sigh. Well I can’t say I’m surprised. His constant changes to try to be whatever he thought people wanted him to be, just got to be too much. Ah well. No great loss, to either party. But my personal favorite bumper sticker reads, “Jesus is coming, look busy!” It still slays me!!

And I wonder, how many more Douglas Barbers are there out there right now.

As a military vet with many friends that are vets, I feel really bad for these patriots. These guys and gals signed up to defend our country and instead are being used as cannon fodder.

I will admit that I did not see half of what the troops are seeing in this “war.” Operation Desert Storm was nothing compared to this thing we are tied up in. Don’t get me wrong, war is hell and I do not demean anybody from Desert Storm. What I do mean is that this “war” is much worse. I seriously feel ill at what our people are going through. We need to protect our soldiers, from here as much as they will protect us when we need them. But, this Iraq thing is not going well and needs to end.

How many of our troops are going to come back with missing arms and legs? How many will have serious mental issues? How many will have depression to such a degree that they do not want to live with their memories, like Douglas Barber?

On my old car I had a great bumper sticker, tried to get it off when I donated it but no go. It showed a man with a circle and line through. the quote said I still miss my x but my aim is improving.. Need to get a simaler one for Bull S*** Bush to go with the impeach Bush. The present one of yes I am a witch deal with it is lonely…..Blessings

No spudge, a real republican is figuring how to maximise profits based upon the new investment environment the change in the defense posture is going to cause in the defence industry as shown in the stock prices, I mean with all the time spent with his portfolio adviser, banker, and listening to CNBC, how can we all expect him to take time out of this unique investment opportunity and miss out on the bull market spending time in some location he has no intention of ever vacationing in, besides aren’t there some people who can’t afford to pay for college or find a minimum wage job so they would like a chance of earning a military wage.

Bumper stickers? Why buy bumper stickers -they “could possibly damage the paint or finish on your vehicle”.

Better buy a magnet. That’s right. You can now support the troops (and possibly Santorum himself) but not damage the paint on your car. You don’t want to be that supportive.

It’s too late for Douglas Barber to put on a bumper sticker.

By his own admission Douglas Barber, a former army reservist, was struggling. For two years since returning from the chaos and violence of Iraq, the 35-year-old had battled with his memories and his demons, the things he had seen and the fear he had experienced. Recently, it seemed he had turned a corner, securing medical help and counselling.

But last week, at his home in south-eastern Alabama, the National Guardsman e-mailed some friends and then changed the message on his answering machine. His new message told callers: “If you’re looking for Doug, I’m checking out of this world. I’ll see you on the other side.” Mr Barber dialled the police, stepped on to the porch with his shotgun and – after a brief stand-off with officers – shot himself in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bumper stickers. I made one myself that has one of those flagged W’s and the statement “Like a rock, only dumber”. Seems to get at those gene starved squinty eyed dead heads here in Florida. I also have the “Darn Good Liar” – but I purchased that one.
