“Our government is not corrupt, lobbyists are not bribing people, and members of Congress are not being bought for campaign contributions,” says Paul Miller, head of the American League of Lobbyists. Well that pretty much settles it.
This is from Scanlonemail about the Neo-con, Delay, Abramoffs lobbyist Modus Operandi
“The wackos get their information through the Christian right, Christian radio, mail, the internet and telephone trees,†Scanlon wrote in the memo, which was read into the public record at a hearing of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee. “Simply put, we want to bring out the wackos to vote against something and make sure the rest of the public lets the whole thing slip past them.â€
You read it here Bush Supporters, Americans, those that paid money to Falwell or Pat blow you up Robertson this is what the Republican Neokooks and lobbyists, and the Bork Judges think of you.
And that YOU can see by Bushcos record and the other Lies of Delay Robertsons “Faith” based Lies to rip off decent Americans
Phew. I’m glad we don’t have to worry about that anymore.
Also, the economy rocks, Arabs love us, and education is way over-funded. With these things out of the way, we can finally get back to banning abortion.

If you remove the word “not” three times from Mr. Miller’s quote, it makes perfect sense.
It’s amazing how power and money give people the feeling of invincibility. Next they’ll be telling us we invaded Iraq to spread freedom and democracy, our government had no idea that terrorists would consider crashing airplanes into buildings and the Bushies were unaware that the levee walls surrounding NOLA were vulnerable. What, they already made those foolish assertions? Sorry, must not have been paying attention.
I mock you people. The left is really pathetic. If this is the best you have for the mid terms, looks like another two years of unfettered GOP domination.
Gary – you’re a moron. Shouldn’t you be meeting with Oliver Stone or soemthing?
Jay – quit blaming the levees on Bush. Maybe Gov. Blank-o and her chocolate mayor could have shown up for work, too. Stop being a moronic partisan – it gets you nowhere.
Incompetence and lies have nothing to do with partisanship. As the saying goes, you’re entitled to your own opinions but you are not entitled to your own facts. BTW, shouldn’t you be lubing yourself up for Rush Limbaugh’s daily truth fornication about now? Run along little wingnut.

The Big Lie is alive and well; what’s more, its in daily use in the land were, just a few years ago, we were so proud to be better-run and better-led (not to mention nicer people) than anyone else. Now we have grown to have a high tolerance to lies, dissembling, disinformation, spying, spinning, polarizing, plagiarizing and torturing; all thanks to those same folks who worked so hard to convince us that they were making a “contract with America” to fix everything. I think put out a contract, all right – on us. I’d go somewhere else but I, for some dumb reason, still love this country.
That’s the standard denial before the apologize, it seems. Didn’t Cunningham deny everything too, and then in an apologize said he was too weak to face the truth.
imho, we would be a much better Nation, and better government, if there were zero lobbyists, and our Representatives actually worked at their jobs by holding hearings, talking to experts, and the people. Our government is suppose to be us, and how can it be us, represent us, if the lobbyists hand over sweaty wads of cash all the time and luxury trips, and expensive gifts. If it doesn’t pass the smell test, it probably is rotten.
You hit the nail on the head. Thanks for a good laugh.
Folks, don’t waste your energy fighting with an ingnorant troll who, frankly, breaks my heart when I read their posts. As a mom I am heartsick at the level of pain and the need for attention that they have. I want to comfort and soothe but that is because I am a bleeding heart liberal who cannot stand lost souls. I really want them to know that I believe we are all one and that I believe they are motivated by the same thing I am motivated by: the yearning for a just world.
When someone prints such hate as an i-right-i or innocent lite I pity them and feel for their pain. But in the end I ignore them because I know even thought I would help them if they were drowning but they would be sure to hold my head underwater.
#40 on paper or in our rhetoric that sounds fine. WHat lobbiests are supposed to be is where we get to petition the government. Or at least that is the theory. In reality we have got a system whereby the highest bidder to the lobbiest with the best connections who also plays the highest bidder role with our government, is the voice that gets heard.
Unfortunately until a system for petitioning the government can be emplced without the influence of $$ we will be stuck with some sembelence of what we already have.
Very simple- no person may lobby congress, except in person by the people who are represented by the particular elected official. I’ve had to go to my congressmans office when a beaurocrat didn’t understand the federal regulation that told him how to do his job, my congressman got it straightened out with out a moneyary payment from me.
Your sentiment is good and honest and decent, typically liberal. However, I truly believe that there comes a time, a pivotal moment in history’s course, when the more destrcutive and threatening elements in a society need to be confronted fiercely and without relent if the greater good of a nation is to be maintained (I’m sure all of us can think of pertinent examples of this NOT happening). This is one of those times. I may stand alone here, but sympathy, understanding and $1.25 will get you a small coffee in our current political climate. We’ve all got to have the stomach to fight hard for the truth and justice and unfortunately for them, these wingutty trolls are the enemy. Fellow American or not, they started this fight and we’re going to have to finish it.
Afterall, it is his job he is talking about. Do you actually believe the man has any notion to support the disassembly of the money machine up on that there Hill?
If we don’t stop extending our troops all around the world in nation-building missions, we’re going to have a serious problem coming down the road.

“Oh, life is a joyous and wonderful song, a medley of extemporanea, and love is a dream that can never go wrong, and I am the Queen of Rumania”
Apparently irony is a nuance they just don’t understand.
January 27th, 2006 at 12:22 pmI feel so much better, now that the Head of the American League of Lobbyists says they aren’t busing congressmen.
How about the head of the Columbian Cartels telling us they aren’t sending drugs across the border?
Or how about Osama bin Laden telling us he’s not conducting terrorist activities?
Or even Hilter telling us he’s not gassing and burning Jews?
Or even Pres. Bush telling us he’s not spying on Americans? Oh, wait, he’s tried that one already. . . . .
