    Bomb.

Oops! Am i on the watchlist now?

  2. Zookeeper says:

All the easier to spy on you, my pretty!

  3. Jane E. Schneider says:

Ben, we’re probably ALL on the watchlist already! This is supposed to be a ‘massive data storage facility’? Then we’re definitely all on the watchlist, and they’ll have plenty of room for more names.

  4. Don says:

NSA is centralizing its domestic spying operation with NORTHCOM in Colorado, instead of with Homeland Security in Washington, so that it will come under the military umbrella as a presidential wartime imperative. Who can argue with that?

In the hands of the people this is a good thing. In the hands of military contractors that make billions with each war this is the end of Americas freedom. The big brother science fiction isnt science fiction anymore. Security is becoming more important than freedom and willpower. Ever see that show “The Dark Crystal” as a kid? When everyone KNOWS they are being watched at all times then everyones willpower is drained. There seems to be no point in fighting it, because it cant be stoped.

I for one will accept some crime in life if that is the trade off for freedom. I will accept some terrorism (even 9/11 terrorism) if the trade off is to give up freedom. How far off is it before the street lights will have “MRI scanners” built in so they can read the thoughts of people driving by or that live near by.

It is sort of like the problem with spyware on the internet. I would rather have to deal with popup blockers and firewalls and anti-spyware applications than to totally lock down my PC so I can only use it the way “THEY” say I can so that I am “protected” from the viruses and spyware.

Who ever said life had to be totally secure. Life is a struggle. If you cant deal with the facts of life you should be seeking help from a professional that can teach you to cope with it…you should NOT be getting elected as a leader of America.

Look at the tyranny of party–at what is called party allegiance, party loyalty–a snare invented by designing men for selfish purposes–and which turns voters into chattles, slaves, rabbits, and all the while their masters, and they themselves are shouting rubbish about liberty, independence, freedom of opinion, freedom of speech, honestly unconscious of the fantastic contradiction; and forgetting or ignoring that their fathers and the churches shouted the same blasphemies a generation earlier when they were closing their doors against the hunted slave, beating his handful of humane defenders with Bible texts and billies, and pocketing the insults and licking the shoes of his Southern master.

    Great quote–I saved it.

  9. Jesus Christ God of WAR says:

Good bye, America. You were once a great country.

Now all you can do is spread fear and hate… and turn around and spy on yourselves… just like East Germany did with it’s Stazi…

If President bush had only gotten warrants within three days AFTER he initiated wiretaps, then this wouldn’t be such a big deal!

The rubber-stamp FISA court was more than happy to say “Sure! Spy on whomever you like!”, but Pres. Bush couldn’t even follow the established laws and do that!

The ultra-radical’s try to claim the laws aren’t fast enough to respond, but when you look at the facts, it was the administration that wasn’t even trying to follow the laws. They could have said “Oh, three days ago, we started wire-tapping . Please, approve what we’ve done”, but even that mush was too much for them to do. In other words, the so called “rule of law” the Republicans had conniptions over with Pres. Clinton doesn’t apply to President Bush.

The argument is that simple, but the ’spinning’ from the administration uses straw-man arguments and red herrings to obfuscate the issue.

    Hypocrisy, thy party is Republican!

Absolutely, Dem Soldier. This is the arrogance of GWB. When I worked for the county prosecutor a few years ago, cops used to call the office and say, ‘this is what I did, can we make it legal?’ The answer was always no, silly rabbit. GWB has the power to ‘make it legal,’ and yet chose not to do it, probably continues to do it to this day. That’s why he has to go.

  13. rudgrl says:

10 & 12- Bush actually has 15 days not 3 days. More RNC memes don’t fall for it. Bush says we’re at war, that he’s a war time president therefor he has 15 days to retroactively go back to FISA.

  14. Gerald Gibson says:

Ya the neo cons got it all figured out… and the christians believe them!

Wait until Nero the Mad (the gay, black, jew, citizen from san francisco that got elected as president because he was a big time movie star) gets into the White House and decides to turn the NSA (and the patriot act) onto the christians… and they thought waco was bad …you aint seen nothin yet.

  15. rudgrl says:

More reading pleasure – whenever a Bushie opens his mouth remind him that Sen. Mike DeWine (R-OH) attempted to amend FISA to include a lower standard (what BushCo now claims as inherent powers) from probable cause to reasonable suspicion. Jim Baker, acting on behalf of the Bushies, argued against it at the same time they were doing it. Legally speaking – what the F***!!!

  16. Hardy Haberman says:

And as most dictators, Bush is trying to gain unprecidented amounts of information to blackmail and manipulate people to his will. I seem to remember another despot that did the same kind of thing, except he had a squad of goons that strong-armed people he didn’t like. Called them “Brown Shirts” I believe. But later saw fit to replace them with a more highly skilled force called the “SS”.

Can we expect the sound of jackboots soon? Watch FOX new for details.

For any one who’s interested this little gem is a keeper. Remember to print it so when it disapears later you won’t be shaking your head in disbelief.

  20. Sharon Cox says:

Max1, thank’s for the info. In my state. Oh well, more crap for a dreadful Monday. As the old song said, Monday’s never were any good any way. After all my hard work sending letters, making phone calls and counting on my senators, my use to be favorite, blew it on the Alito deal. She did vote no but turned around and voted lock step with the repugs for cloture. So sent her a letter, I helped put her in office, now I am keeping my word and working to get her out. I will vote for the jolly green giant before I will vote for a soft Dem ever again. ….Blessings to all from the mad witch…

    #20 Sharon Cox

Did you pick out the glaring simile that needs to be made?

Because the Earth is curved, intercepting satellite communications takes teamwork. The result is Echelon and its network of listening posts. The biggest is thought to be at Menwith Hill north of London.

Because the earth is curved we need a warped theory.

  24. Sharon Cox says:

Max1, I have a good warped theory. Boot all the representatives out. All, and start over. ..Blessings
