EXCLUSIVE: Abramoff Photos of President Bush, First Lady ‘Just Sitting In His Office’

In an interview yesterday, Washingtonian editor Kim Eisler confirmed to ThinkProgress that he has viewed several photographs of President Bush with Jack Abramoff. Eisler, who authored a book on tribal politics and is an associate of Abramoff’s, says he saw the photos during a visit to Abramoff’s house where they were “just sitting in his office.”

The White House has continually refused to release photos of President Bush with Jack Abramoff. Moreover, Press Secretary Scott McClellan has said that if photos of the two together exist, they are shots taken at “widely attended” Hanukkah receptions in 2001 and 2002. But according to Eisler, none of the photos in Abramoff’s office were taken at Hanukkah receptions.

One photo at Abramoff’s home depicts Bush shaking hands with Abramoff in the Old Executive Office Building, which is adjacent to the West Wing of the White House. Another photograph shows Bush with Abramoff at what appears to be the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington. A third photo, which previously has not been disclosed, is of Abramoff’s wife with Laura Bush.

This was first reported in our morning newsletter The Progress Report (sign up in the box to the right). Check ThinkProgress later today for more new details on the Abramoff scandal.

    Am I missing something?

I cannot find the pictures. Are they posted?

  2. stephanois says:

unless they are naked and getting it on the public doesnt care

  3. fastneataverage says:

Me thinks the snakes are beginning to turn on each other.

  4. TerrytheTurtle says:

Last night a Mr Thomas DePaine posted this at the back of one of the older Abramoff threads…..

I believe that here are pictures of Bush with Abramoff in the White House on 12/22/2003.

    http://server3.pictiger.com/img/161731/picture-hosting/colage-2.php

These were grabbed off archive.org the night that the story broke about Reflections Photo pulling Abramoff photos. It wasn’t too hard to figure out where these would be found on the internet archive…so I grabbed them.

  5. Leonard Smith says:

    Nice list.

I need to add some of those to http://www.errantgovernment.com

  6. Prissy Patriot says:

    Nancy,

I love that you had paid such close attention-it shows.

I would like to post your post-it’s great!

  7. Godfry Daniel says:

Hey just cuz he’s been photographed shaking hands and talking with him doesn’t mean he met him.

  8. Patricj J. Fitzgerald says:

That is some stinky cheese! I am willing to wager that Bush would prefer a picture of him kissing Ru Paul over one or two posing with Jack.
    http://patrickjfitzgerald.blogspot.com

  9. progressive and proud says:

Oh Godfry, I REALLY want to say something totally inappropriate, but, alas, my southern sensibilities will not allow it. However, I think you guys are clever enough to take Godfry’s metaphor to a new low.

    Poke out my eyes, please.

  10. Tim Forsberg says:

I really hope Abramoff isn’t “suicided” one of these days, where the “burglars” take no $ but certain pictures can no longer be found.

  11. Democrat Soldier says:

#7 – LOL!! Thanks for the laugh! Well, other than laughing at the elected Republicans trying to distance themselves from Abramoff.

That sounds suspiciously like Republi-logic: “Just because I said it doesn’t mean I MEANT what I said!”

  12. RightPunch says:

“Hey just cuz he’s been photographed shaking hands and talking with him doesn’t mean he met him.
    Comment by Godfry Daniel — February 9, 2006 @ 12:10 pm”

And sweetie, just because a republican partisan can retype a talking point doesn’t mean they can think for themselves. But I forgive you pumpkin.

  13. For Truth says:

I think Godfrey is being sarcastic. If not, lets ask, now how dumb is that. Anyone who gets to be photographed in the executive offics with the President, likley exchanged some types of words, which qualifies as meeting them.

  14. Democrat Soldier says:

#10 – Isn’t that listed as “suicide by lead poisoning”? You know, double-tap to the back of the head?

  15. Tim Forsberg says:

    typo_-

should read, “or killed in a burglary attempt”

  16. progressive and proud says:

I think it says a lot that it hard to tell a republican poster from an obvious joke.

  17. Tim Forsberg says:

#14 — you’re right, “suicide by lead poisoning,” perfect!

    Be careful there, Jacko!

  18. Godfry Daniel says:

#12: I was just giving you a preview of Scotty’s response. And I am not a pumpkin, yet.

  19. For Truth says:

    Thanks Godfrey,
    I knew it was sarcastic.

  20. Democrat Soldier says:

    #16 – You’re SO right!

Republi-troll: exaggerations and calumny to support Pres. Bush’s mendacity.

Joke: exaggerations and calumny to expose Pres. Bush’s mendacity.

What’s sad is that the Republi-trolls don’t get it. Picture the look on a puppy dogs face if you moved his food dish.

Nope, that’s a bad analogy. The puppy dog would still be cute, and the Republi-trolls would still look confused.

  21. Zookeeper says:

If Abramoff hasn’t yet found a buyer for those photos, why is he holding them? GWB is trying to throw him under the bus, which he probably deserves, but why not allow the pictures to be published? It would take the heat of Abramoff and put it directly on Georgie.

  22. RemoveBush says:

Zookeeper – Abramhoff is using them for leverage. If he sells them, then he loses some of his leverage. If he keeps them then he still has a item to leverage with.

I think in the end, the pictures will come out.

  23. Tim Forsberg says:

#21 — Abramoff’s still laboring under some misguided sense of loyalty to dubya, just like Powell, McCain, Lieberman, et al. He needs to get those pics out pronto.

  24. Evil Spaniard says:

    What a bunch of mafiosi.

    “Help me or else…”

  25. Godfry Daniel says:

The republi-troll puppy would start chewing his own leg off so he could blame it on you.

  26. progressive and proud says:

#22 I agree, you can’t keep the dogs at bay too long. Just like they said to Clinton, better fess up now than take the shot later. They are taking the shot later and it will it a poor judgment.

Also, RawStory reports that Brownie is willing to sing like a pigeon and alludes to much communication with the WH during Katrina. He says if he doesn’t receive counsel paid for the American people, he will release the valve. Brownie has some cards to play and just like Abramoff, there are no secrets — ultimately.

And, of course, republicans are in some crazy game of Risk and don’t pander to reality.

  27. Zookeeper says:

#22 & #26 – I thought Abramoff had already whittled his possible sentence down to around 10 years by cooperating. Is he going to be able to do much more with that? Sorry if I’m being dense. Headache, too busy at work…

  28. RemoveBush says:

#27 – If he pisses off Bush, then he can kiss his pardon bye bye. I believe that he has let Bush know that he is willing to do what he needs to in order to save his butt.

I believe that this is just a signal that he is looking for that pardon.

  29. NEOCONVICT says:

Yep, they’re lying again. So what elese is new?

Make no mistake. Fascism is on the march.

Kellogg Brown and Root was recently awarded almost a billion dollars to build detention centers here in the US.

The Whitehouse’s recent “Bird Flu Summit” hints at what is in store for America. *Why* is the Department of Defense, Northrop Gumman (’Battle Management’ specialists), and The MITRE Corporation (’Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence (C3I)s’ for the Department of Defense) attending a *Bird Flu Summit?*

How long until everyone who disagrees with the NeoCons is sent to a “detention center”?

Click here to ask Barbara Boxer to lead the fight for fair elections!

Everyone please sign the petition urging Senator Boxer to get out in front on Election Fraud. Diebold is currently rolling across America just in time for ‘06. Unless a prominent politician (NOT Kerry, ahem) speaks out and forces the mainstream media to address this issue, we’re all in big, big trouble. Boxer was the only senator to stand up against the seating of the Ohio electors in the stolen 2004 election. I believe she can be swayed. Urge everyone you know who cares about the fate of America to sign this petition:

  30. Clif says:

#27 If Jack can negotiate a pardon out of karl rove then his sentence no longer is relevant.

  31. Doodle Dandy says:

#22, Leverage with this mob, is like ‘an offer you can’t refuse’. Similar to that offered by Rove to all Republicks, ‘If you vote against Wiretapping, you will be BLACK BALLED’. Heard this on Countdown MSNBC. Not another place. This country is being ruled by the worst of all evils.

  32. RightPunch says:

So these photos prove bush lied about the frequency and opportunity he had to meet Abramoff. And yet the partisan brain won’t be able to reconcile the fact that yet another republican lie was told. Poor things, I feel so sorry for them and their limited partisan brain capacity.

  33. gary jarvis says:

    Bush’s fantasy is America’s nightmare.

  34. Patricj J. Fitzgerald says:

Photographic proof from NSA of sleeper cell in US communicating with Al Queda! I never would have believed if I had not seen it with my own eyes.

  35. RemoveBush says:

Hey BSR – Go read this and note the final comment:

“The problem is not the legislation but lack of intelligence and analysis,” another source said. “We have a huge pile of intercepts that never get translated, analyzed and thus remain of no use to us. If it [surveillance] was effective, that’s one thing. But it hasn’t been effective.”

    http://www.insightmag.com/Media/MediaManager/wiretaps_0.htm

  36. Godfry Daniel says:

Off topic: Raw Story has an article up that says Scooter Libby is spilling some big beans today.

  37. Gus, the Loving OBGYN says:

“Libby also indicated what he will offer as a broad defense during his upcoming criminal trial: that Vice President Cheney and other senior Bush administration officials had earlier encouraged and authorized him to share classified information with journalists”

  38. Gregor Samsa says:

Here we have a twice Republican Pioneer, ace lobbyist (closely associated with the K Street Project) who knew how to cultivate the right friendships.

It is clear now Abramoff met Pres Bush more than once -not in “widely attended” occasions.

How long will George Bush stand by his assertion that his does not recall “ever having met” Abramoff?

Why is this administration so allergic to transparency?

  40. Wayne A. Schneider says:

    #27 Zookeeper,

First, thanks. I’m trying to squeeze these things in between all of my work duties, too. I know how it is.

Second, I may have this wrong, but my understanding of the plea deal with Abramoff is that he is going to cooperate with the feds to the satisfaction of the feds if he’s to get only ten years in prison. If they feel he isn’t cooperating enough, the deal is off and he could face up to thirty years in prison.

I am not a lawyer (nor do I play one on TV), but I think that even if the feds decide he isn’t being cooperative enough, the guilty plea still stands and he faces a different sentence. It’s not as though he can change his mind, not coperate, and go to trial. (I could be wrong, of course.)

  41. Meg says:

    José Chicas,

I love it! We have men, we have rockets, we have Photoshop, there’s nothing we can’t do!

  42. Jan says:

    Jose at 38 and 40…
it’s not nice to tease us and not put out. No photos to be seen at your link.

  43. José Chicas says:

My mistake, This is the Photo. I messed up on the link. Sorry Jan

  44. Zookeeper says:

Thanks, Wayne, RemoveBush, and progressive and proud. I think it’s sunk in now.

Jose Chicas, you are a sick, sick puppy. I love it.

  45. TJM says:

Has TP contacted any reporters with White House credentials to ask if they would bring up these specific names and dates? I thought Scotty said no fishing but if you bring up something specific he’d look into it.
This will simmer but not go away.

  46. MRM says:

    #4,
I’m really pleased at the use of linked text to recover the truth from the Mighty Shredder. Creative thinking that, this is a resource we should protect and treasure. We apparently need frequent backups of reality, hehe.

  47. MRM says:

Sorry, here’s the link to The Internet Archive:

  48. GOPHater says:

I hear that Abromoff and Bush used to swap wives. It seems that Laura wanted a partner who knew how to spell orgasm.

  49. thinkstraight says:

Bush and all his buddies are political/corporate/narco gangsters. Jack Abramoff appears to be a soldier or midlevel ranked capo under the direction of a top level capo. With the layer of the onion above that being your basic top level directors who are the ones who hand down the ORDERS from Rothschilds, Rockefeller etc.

Abramoff was used to corrupt and cause chaos. One amomg many unleashed to trash the USA. So he was apparently allowed to run wild. Will he sing like a canary now and rat out on his controlling capo? No way. He’s not Barry Seal. Who got burned and switched to deciding to become a true whistleblower. Abramoff is just going to continually try to work himself out of his jam so he can get back to his stash and return someday to less agressive racketeering. Having learned not to trust his capo. He knows their all slimeballs who lied to him.

Basicly – we are going to see the day when all these slimeballs in the various factions such as the Jewish-gangsters, jesuit-gangsters, anglo/american-gangsters, chinese and russion mafieas, etc, …start to tear into each other and war each other. Ever see a pond full of bullfrog tadpoles dry up down to just a large hole with the last remaining hundred gallons of water in it?? What happens during dinner time?? Hint. Keep a running count day to day of the number of tadpoles.

  50. Prissy Patriot says:

Check out Nancy and Prissy’s list of sooo many things this cabal has done. The list is long

  51. Wayne A. Schneider says:

    #52 thinkstraight,

So if I understand this correctly, we may soon see the president eating tadpoles? :)

Kidding aside, I think it will be interesting to see how much they make him sing for his plea bargain. Since his ten year sentence is contingent upon making the feds happy, he has nothing to lose by telling them everything he knows. They’ll only keep him in jail longer if he holds back something they want or need.

  52. Snake Plisken says:

Hey America, Snake Plisken here! What do you expect from a dictator like Bush to do except sit on his dictatorial but and waist other peoples live just like Caliguila of Rome. Dictators, you seen one, you can see them all and not to surprise they can rule in America either. Time to clean the American House of them from top to bottom of them.

  53. thinkstraight says:

    (wayne schneider quote)
“Kidding aside, I think it will be interesting to see how much they make him sing for his plea bargain. Since his ten year sentence is contingent upon making the feds happy, he has nothing to lose by telling them everything he knows. They’ll only keep him in jail longer if he holds back something they want or need.”

I think your perceptions of the depth of the corruption we are dealing with is too shallow in this instance. Mainly in your perceptions of the USA Courts and the so-called “justice” system we are stuck with at the moment. Money will change hands. Bribes, blackmail, threats etc. Prosecuter Fitzgerald is a Jesuit so don’t expect him to be untouchable. There are freemasons everywhere too.

What will happen is what always has happened when a major league but still mid-level slimeball gets in Abramoff’s position. Abramoff gets told how to conduct himself through this through his crooked lawyers who act as messengers in their mafia system. They have all the bases covered including damage control.

Abramoff will do some time but not the life sentence or execution for treason, murder, mega-racketeering etc. He’ll get a few years and then later after everybody forget get pardoned by the next slimeball president that steals the USA election.

If we ever have another presidential election that is. Snake Plissken (spelled with two s) and the movie ‘Escape From New York’ is not too far off the reality of the near future if nothing is ever done to start reversing the corruption. The goal from the top is to trash the USA economy, to create chaos and destroy the middle class. Then create a military dictatorship with a puppet government, similar to all the other operations around the World where the USA maintains control.

We’re in the process right now of a coup here in the USA. And hey, next time you see a joe-sixpack flag waver praising our USA troops for defending America just understand this. Our soldier don’t defend nothing. Because they aint worth nothing as defenders of our Constitution. They do what they are told to do. In Iraq it’s ‘go bomb the hell out of them and nevermind the DU radiation that’s equal to 40,000 Hiroshima bombs going off. Over 500,000 former USA troops are on disability since Gulf War 1 from DU and other filth in that warzone.

Yet when the current president visits our current soldiers he gets standing ovations for the lies he speaks. Less than 20% of our current soldiers understand what’s really going on. Another 40% are confused. The other 40% are jacked up mass murderers taking orders like Nazis to spread DU which is going to prove alot worse than Auschwitz deathcamps ever were.

Jack Abramoff is linked the Iraq as a part of all the current South African apartide mercenaries he used to be a part of. It’s all here to read. http://www.waynemadsenreport.com/

It’s a free for all and contracts handed out to mercenary companies are a part of the new wave of “thug class” that is arising in our World.

In the future the goal from the top is to create them as the top class with all the privalages, and a surf class of people they let live. In between is the enforcer class of thugs. Who for 3 squares a day, better food and living space, will betray humanity and hand us all over. Just taking orders. Like Nazis.

  54. MickeyG says:

The pictures depict two awfully chummy fellows (almost like bedfellows). If Bush could forget Abramoff, he must be getting early dementia. He should get that checked. There are drugs for that . But if they do an MRI, and they find only the brain of the size of a monkey, they’ll have nothing to compare it to. Maybe he was born that way. Poor George. Can someone help him?

  55. James Francis says:

Perhaps it is a Bush family genetic defect to “forget” aspects of their former life that may somehow connect them to internal governmental corruption. Ken Lay, the Bin Ladens, now Jack. Handy thing, really. To be fair, it seems both parties entire lineage has carried this dominant trait. X Chromosome definitely. The question remains, how do WE THE PEOPLE fix it? We have career politicians who have experienced ‘average American Life’ nearly never. We have, I hate to say it, a largely uneducated, unconcerned, population, and we have only our wits to guide us… What to do?

  56. thinkstraight says:

What did George Washington do. No. He did not rush into battle first based on his wits. He got down on his knees and prayed to his Maker. At Valley Forge was the perfect example of Divine Providence.

The British Monarchy and their syncophants are to this day just as sleazy a slimeball as ever. So is the every other gangster class slimeball “elite” sitting on a horde of wealth sucked out of the world off the backs of human misery and toil. Think they have any help from Yahweh?? No way!!

So “what to do” is get right with Him first no matter what it takes. There’s all our hope and strength right there.

When you look at the sleasiest scum of the bunch, …the satanic Jesuits and satanic Jews, …what have they got?? Only the money. Backed by total barabarism. They’re incredibly dangerous but who is more dangerous in terms of power?? Yahweh has a side to Him we too often forget. Wrath.

Our enemies are all ants with the power of deception to convince us they are giants. It’s really all about overcoming that scam. And rising above it all to spiritually walk with your Creator. Be your own best friend. Use you wits to think straight. You have to be able to think to do your part. We have great examples in history to follow. Evil can never triumph. It destroys it’s own self with it’s own madness. There own deceptions victimize themselves. Such as the idea that they can become God. And a host of other crazy notions.

When you study the so-called “elites” they’re always corrupted and duped by Satan into superdupes. It’s why men turn on each other to commit unspeakable atrocities.

Man destroying man has it’s root cause in Satanic duping of men’s minds by a creature vastly superior. The Lucifer the worship or serve one way or another. If you don’t believe in the Scriptures your lost as fare as ever understanding any of this.
