It’s a propaganda bonanza everyday at the Whitehouse.
More lies than money can buy.
Why should taxpayer dollars goe to helping poor, elderly and infirm Americans when it can go to big-whig media outfits and spind doctors to make Bush look good in the eyes of the nation.
I think there are only two things this
administration actually cares about:
1) Perpetual right-wing rule though any
means necessary
2) Making money for their friends who will
reward them once they leave office.
Everything else is just PR and it costs
quite a bit for that much PR. Part of that
cost is trying to hide that 1) and 2) is
all they care about.
You’d think the “conservatives” who back the radical right wingers would be foaming at the mouth about this kind of expenditure of public funds. But I guess it’s more important for them to have “their side” shown in a favorable light.
Clif, hmmm, which would be cheaper? I don’t think any amount of money of psychoanalysis would fix Bush’s head.
Seriously, how much of that money went toward his “60 Cities in 60 Days” Social Security road trip, which he continued on even after his 60 days were up and it was obvious that NO ONE was interested in his plan? What a freaking waste (him AND the money.)
Hopefully ThinkProgress will mention this bit of news that Fox News is actually reporting: Kenneth Starr (remember, the guy who headed the clinton/monia trial?) has been accused of submitting fake letters to Arnold Schwarzenegger to get Arnold to spare the life of a death row inmate. Starr refused to come on Fox News or talk to any press about it.
Yes, nobody wanted his SS bs, total waste of his time to try to convince us otherwise, so he stopped. Instead, he just stuck his privatization schema into the budget and hoped nobody would notice. He don’t need no stinkin public approval! He’s da King!
#10, I don’t know but you can bet the psychotropic drug to do it is in the next defense budget. Hey, maybe that gadget they used in ‘Men In Black’ isn’t just fantasy….hmmmm, what were we talking about?
Is this the reason why the News Media ISN’T reporting the more important issues relative to corruption, crimes and other misdeeds done by the White House Criminal Organization?
I was in a family who joined Organized Crime for more than 26 years. They are a part of this and I can tell you that there is a lot more going on that isn’t reported.
I wonder how much they are paying to get the “It’s Wittington’s fault” story out there. I would love to see a detail of the expenditures and see how much goes to the rightwing punditry.
But in all fairness What was the amount spetn by previous administrations? Are the amounts comparable? If so this is a non-issue. Or are the amounts an anomaly, either lower or higher. If this is the case then there is some splainin to do.
Was this money in the budget or was it off-budget like the Iraq war? Was it borrowed from Red China? Was it a gift from Abramoff? Who were the recepients? 1.6 billion could cure a lot of ills brought about by the idiots in the white house and the republican congress. Inquiring minds want to know how you can squander the assets in the treasury when the country is in such deficit.
I’m more concerned about the violation of the campaign finance laws. Is the US treasury a single donor or does one count the Americans now alive and still unborn for the next four generations as the donor base?
That’s one hell of a campaign chest.

February 13th, 2006 at 3:16 pmSo that is what happened to Chris Matthews…
February 13th, 2006 at 3:17 pmObviously.
This is what happens when anyone tries to solve their problems through PR, propaganda, and spin, instead of actually trying to solve the issues.
Coming up with solution to problems involves actual planning and thinking. It seems like not being apt at the “vision thing” runs in the family.

February 13th, 2006 at 3:22 pmHow much is it going to cost to make us all forget we know this?
February 13th, 2006 at 3:23 pm#10: How much does a good shrink cost?
February 13th, 2006 at 3:26 pmWonder how much of that $ 1.6 BILLION went to this guy?
“Call on me, Mr. McClellan…call on me!”

February 13th, 2006 at 3:42 pmIt must cost a lot more money to lie to the public than to tell the truth.

February 13th, 2006 at 3:53 pmI don’t mind giving tax dollars to Jeff Gannon. Do you know the services he provided Dick, George, and Karl — maybe Scottie too?
I think I’m going to be sick.
February 13th, 2006 at 4:12 pmImagine how bad things really are.
February 13th, 2006 at 4:16 pm1.6 billion dollars. Imagine the type of positive reaction that money would have generated if it was used to rebuild N.O.
N.O. reconstruction….a few dollars, the sick and elderly….a few dollars, WARS and P.R. Campaigns….priceless.
February 13th, 2006 at 4:37 pmAny chance of seeing the check register?
February 13th, 2006 at 5:00 pmGuess are resident Beta-Monkeys are scratching their collective heads wondering how the RNC will have them spin this.
What a waste of $1.6BB dollars. Spending that much and Bush still can’t get 40% approvals. Heck ova job Bushie!

Does that tell you anything?
February 13th, 2006 at 6:11 pmThese are the things that make me want to punch people in the face . This 1.6 Bil came right off my ass .
February 13th, 2006 at 7:32 pmJust more proof that this administration controls the mass media.
February 13th, 2006 at 9:13 pmThis administration controls nothing - it is out of control.
February 13th, 2006 at 9:25 pmHey! It costs a lot to “catapault the propaganda.”

February 14th, 2006 at 10:30 amTrolls should pay this cost. And really, republicans don’t need any of it, they will just as told - what a waste of money.
