Ha... Trying to say that Cheney was hunting quail illegally now? You left-wingers are REALLY outlandish.

Is this all you do is sit around waiting for something to happen so you can spin it into another completely false story?

Why don't you look at something objectively for a change?

Have you ever thought that maybe... Just maybe... TBIS is the reason that you haven't won any major elections in the last six years?

Oh yeah, and a former Vice-President of the U.S. went to Saudi Arabia - during a time of war in which we are trying to encourage the growth of constitutional democracies in the region - to proclaim that America is persecuting Arabs.

Comment by Blue State Red #48

<strong>Blueba*ls inbRed,

...in an effort to let the Arabs and the WORLD know that we Americans are not all WHACKED out with Bushiva and Cheney juice...

Give these traitors Bushiva and L'il Dick another year and you republiscum traitors- instead of quail- may become the "prey d' jour"...

Blueba*ls, why do you (and your treasonous inbred ilk) hate our Constitutional democracy, and way of life?</strong>

why hasn't anyone considered that the GAP in communications may have been staged until it was clear if Whittington was going to survive? Had he perished in those early hours, another shooter could have been announced. none of the statements we have heard so far has defined that local authorities wanted to interview Cheney as THE SHOOTER on Saturday.

Reporters tried to get an answer as to why Whittington was in ICU for two nights before the story broke. We have heard that Andy Card had not known that Cheney was inded so involved prior to the story hitting the Internet. It is now evident that Whittington must have been closer than 30 yards, and, I have not heard anyone ask HOW the shot penetrated his vest, causing those first-reported 'chest' wounds. I believe that Whittington was transported to a smaller, out of the way, hospital.

Scotty insists that reporters must direct their inquiries to Cheney's office...which can be interpreted as 'let them clean up their own mess.'

I go for: Maybe Drunk, perhaps not getting the response he wanted from this long acquainted lawyer who might either KNOW something, or, possibly because he DID know something...while hunting on the ranch of someone who lobbied for a favoured Halliburton-like company, also hunting with a female Swiss Ambassador. Legal counsel; corporate profiteering; Swiss Banking partner? With a hunting trip arranged while THE Special Prosecutor is interviewing Cheney's lawyers the previous day?

Yep. Something smells. A simple statement on Saturday evening may have stopped any of us thinking 'conspiracy.

Yeah, the minute they let Whittington out of intensive care he had to go right back in. I guess his HEART was "knocked silly."

They want it both ways----they couldn't concentrate on informing the media because they were all concerned with Whittington...but then they weren't all THAT worried because he just got "peppered pretty good" and it happens "all the time."

Now the Secret Service is revealing ANOTHER discrepancy in the story. Now, it appears the shooting took place *20 minutes later* at 5:50. I looked up sunset in Kenedy County Texas and it's 6:20 --- the legal limit to hunt is a half hour before sunset, so 5:50 is the ultimate last minute they can admit to having hunted. A low sun in Cheney's eyes may well have been another factor.

But why they can't get their details right even days after the event is a mystery.

===========

"Wait until more evidence seeps out. Here's a fresh tidbit: Late Tuesday, the Secret Service related that the shooting actually took place at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, 20 minutes later than previously stated--and therefore, right up against sunset. "

The two Armstrong daughters on the shoot are our only hope of ever really finding out what happened. Mom and the Ambassador are in the tank with the administration, but the daughters are younger and perhaps less well bought off. Who are they? Where are they now? Did they see the Vice President drinking that day?

Mr. Whittington's condition is apparently more grave than has been reported. If he dies, will V. Pres. Cheney be charged with manslaughter? Will his secret service detail be subpoenaed? Does anyone know the protocol for a sitting Vice President who accidentally shoots someone? If the VP was intoxicated at the time?

Scotty boy, the sputtering spinner, will probably be the next casaulty driven to hospital. He looks like his fat head is exploding. There's not too much crapola he'll be able to spitball at the gaggle of our press cause now, finally, they'll have a story they can sink their teeth into. The sponsors will be elated cause they won't have to wait for another white blonde to be kidnapped to push on their ill-informed audience. I know the spinning has begun in earnest, but even the most delusional bushwacked bigots won't be swallowing this 'hunting' accident. The mental picture of our VP of DOOM, all outfitted out in his colorful killing ensemble, emerging from his chauffeur driven SUV when the poor quail were released for his shooting fix-- priceless! And wasn't it lucky for poor (rich) Mr. Whittington that our prophet of FEAR travels on his hunts with an entire Mash unit! Oh boy Scotty, you'll be earning your bread this time, won't ya?

http://outside.away.com/magazine/200008/200008camp_bush4.html

<blockquote>Bush's finely tuned sense of Texas politics, however, may come across as a tin ear for American environmental sensibilities come fall. In his first race for governor, in 1994, Bush went on a staged-for-the-media mourning dove hunt—one of those hallowed rites of political passage that almost everyone lusting for high office in Texas has to undergo. An aide handed Dubya a 20-gauge shotgun, he took careful aim, and then he accidentally shot a killdeer—a protected species in Texas. <b>"I have a confession to make; I am a killdee killer," Bush writes in his autobiography. But a reader expecting mournful reflection encountered the following: "I think it showed a side of me that voters had not seen. I was able to laugh at myself, to make a mistake, admit it, and poke fun at it.... It gave me great joke material."</b></blockquote>

<i>As long as the Bush team can continue to create confusion, they’ve won. All they have to do whenever accused is deny and get their paid media to say what they say. Then people are presented with conflicting news accounts, which neutralizes the story if the confusion goes on long enough. End of story. Don’t think for a moment that this wire tapping project of Bushy’s isn’t helping him intimidate those who would be “disloyal” He’s using it for whatever he needs to use if for. As long as he’s got a hefty number of paid reporter operatives, he can always create the psyops confusion he needs to. That’s also what McClellan was trying to do in the briefings……create confusion. Evil is like that……sneaks around in the shadows.</i>

For what it's worth, I think suzanne nailed it. Until we find a way to stop the domination of TV and radio by paid Republican propagandists, we will make little or no progress with anything else. That is why I say that the media problem should now be our most important priority... by far... ahead of elections or voting machines or scandals or anything else.

Some who post on here say this shooting incident is a distraction from more urgent news items, but those who support Cheney want a diversion from this event!

It was not a minor wound. They should have told the truth from the very beginning, but they didn't, they are incapable of thinking that way.
Because it's the law, Cheney should have had his blood alcohol level tested but he didn't. Neo Cons don't have to obey laws.
Maybe he shouldn't be drinking, given his heart medicine might react badly with it. Maybe he shouldn't be driving, hunting, and sitting in Congress, either, but he is.
I am moving on, because he did it. He beat the law and there is nothing that can be done now. As usual, US loses, neo-cons con.

I'd say it's 50-50 about now, those blood clots have a way of killing people.
