Sound like you are saying the the Iranians are holding all the cards and the real plan is to blackmail the U.S., but you failed to mention that they have been planning to do this Euro conversion since 2004.

BTW Iran won't even be able to consider it's move to the Euro untill it starts cooperating with the IAEA and the U.N. Security Council.

"They have now crossed a point where they are in open defiance of the international community," Rice said.

Iran seems not to be trusted ey, too bad it's exactly the same for the US under the presidency of Bushwacka. 'Defiance of the international community' are words that Dr. (!) Rice should keep out of her three-tongued mouth. First take a look at yourself, than maybe you can say something bad about an other nation. Doctors have realy small brains these days...probably a side effect of this administration.

The U.N. has had more that a year to do ANYTHING regarding Iran’s nuclear program since the E.U. began talks with Iran…which failed BTW. The U.N. is inpotent when it comes to solving an international crisis. Same thing happened in Bosnia.

Trashy,

Unlike witless, treasonous, right wing hypocrites and Bush/Cheneyfarteaters like yourself and your inbred brood...

...the UN has to take into consideration Iran's sovereignty, the hypocrisy regarding Israel's nukes, heavy handed pro-Israeli American support, and Russo-Sino-Iranian-Syrian-Latin American relations...

...there are forces at work here (against American-Israeli and European hegemony) that you don't have the capacity to see or understand...

...because of the positioning of your head up Bushiva and L'il Dick's a*ses alternately...

Iran WILL have nukes, no doubt...

...there's NOTHING your gods Bushiva and L'il Dick can do to stop the process...

...don't believe me?

...ask L'il Kim...

...it's NO ACCIDENT that you haven't heard his name mentioned in a while...

I do NOT trust President George W. Bush one bit, but nor do I trust the UN under Kofi Annan who seems to be a stooge for Bush! As for Iranians > they are ZERO threat to America
and only a minor nuisance to Israel, so attacking them is criminal!

POLL: Bush still has higher favorability rating than Hillary's 37%. Republicans have nothing to fear in 2008. Progressive Liberals will give us the election. Thanks in advance.

******Dear Turtle & Clif - No, I didn't "sponge off pop" - he was dead. I earned a scholastic scholarship and worked summers and nights to pay for books, room, board, the payments on my Volkswagon Bug and the gas to keep it running. Law school was paid for by the Navy and paid back through service. All of my siblings were able to earn scholastic or athletic scholarships - Mom expected no less. Different parents have different expectations, I suppose....

I don't have a problem with student loans....I just expect them to be repaid before plunking down the $$$ for the BMW or the Prius.

IRAN OIL BOURSE IS THE REASON, NOT IRAN'S WMD!!!

For all of you people who think we attacked Iraq because we thought Saddam has WMD, I feel bad for you guys. Saddam was starting/had started an OIL BOURSE (like a stock market for oil [best explanation I can give]) in which he was going to sell oil in exchange for EUROS and not DOLLARS!!! We didn't like his plan, because it would bring down the value of US DOLLAR in the world, so we attacked him. Now Iran is going to start it's OIL BOURSE on March 6th, and guess what, they're going to trade (sell) their oil in EUROS and not DOLLARS!!! Deja Vu? I'll let you decide!

In politics, whenever you hear something, that's the cover up story, what you don't hear is what's really happening. I hope you guys can research about this and spread the word around. Yeah, Iran might be after WMD, but that'd be of %5 importance to US because there's no way in hell any of their missiles can travel to US! The OIL BOURSE probelm is the other %95.

I must say that not only I dislike Bush and his administration, but I'm also very disappointed at the right-wingers that don't want to hold their own idiots responsible for their wrongdoings and the crimes they committ, and they just follow the "talking points" like the sheep they are!

I most certainly agree that the US has created the crisis in Iran and has been instrumental in creating the present repressive fundamentalist atmosphere which exists today. We installed the Shah, creating a decade of a repressive police state. The reaction was the Islamic Revolution. Of course their anger was directed against the "meddling" CIA. How dense can you be not to see that?
After 2 decades, Iran was beginning to loosen up as a society and what happens? We stick our noses and opinions into their electoral processs and the directt result is a nationalistic knee jerk reaction to elect the more conservative candidate.
The US has created the atmosphere of crisis that has scuttled any attempt for rational diplomacy to succeed. Now the admisitration is trying to coherce Europe to participate in its program against Iran.
I think that the hysteria that was generated in the last few months is beginning to diissapate. The reality is beginning to appear. Iran is a formidable opponent. The toy army that I see referred to in Conservative blogs is a myth. The Iranian people are definitely not going to welcome Liberators with flowers and songs!
America has only succeeded in setting the Islamic world aflame. It is obvioust that the "Cartoon Riots" are about much more than boycotting Danish Bacon!
I really don't think that Russia has any wish to let the US start a conflict that could involve nuclear materials of any kind on its doorstep. I also think that the real wisdom is the Chinese who seem to be outside of this, asking for tolerance and if that fails, well, let the jerks desttroy each other and then pick up the pieces.
I truly believe that this could have been resolved easily if the UN had been allowed to stick to its inspections.
I wish that more Americans would wake up and see that this self righteous, total victory or the rapture( whichever comes first) administration has destroyed the Republic
For a view into Iran and to see that they are rational human beings, just like us(most of us) try to find the SAHAR 2 satellite television broadcasts. They are the Iranian English language station and you will be surprised to see the content. A real window into their culture.

I most certainly agree that the US has created the crisis in Iran and has been instrumental in creating the present repressive fundamentalist atmosphere which exists today. We installed the Shah, creating a decade of a repressive police state. The reaction was the Islamic Revolution. Of course their anger was directed against the “meddling” CIA.
It is obvioust that the “Cartoon Riots” are about much more than boycotting Danish Bacon!

This country needs a new party, one that will unite all libertarians, greens, and independents. Then we will be in the majority. We must do this before it is too late..for starters vote out most current congressmen come mid-term elections..They must be committed to ending all bush policies and a massive jailing of the thousands of corrupt power elites..Law enforcement must do it's job..

These poll results do not surprise me. The Bush Administration spent $1.4 billion in taxpayer dollars on PR over the past two-and-a-half years, according to a Government Accountability Office report.

Much of the PR was in the form of "news reports," used to manipulate the American mind. I would assume that much of the PR was in the form of DISINFORMATION as well. The Bush Administration does not like the UN (for obvious reasons.) So, I am sure that $millions were spent to bash the reputation of the UN.

In order to turn these numbers around, Rove will need to call his buddy Osama bin Laden for another attack and blame it all on Tehran.

Ridiculous and duplicitous... but those qualities describe Karl Rove 100%.

#53 Palestine/Israel? That's a good one! Israel is an artificially created by the UK and the USA state. USA supports whole-heartedly Israel against a LOT of UN rulings against Israel. The USA has messed in the politics of EVERY country in the Middle East. And now the UN is guilty of the situation there? Stop smoking crack.

#33 Only TP would tout 51% figures? Umm a little ove a year a go a guy was toutiung his 51% figure as a mandate fromt he people. I guess it's all a matter of how you take 51% and interpret it isn't it?

#38 & beyond - MA you mis read what I said, that was from an article regarding the Iran situation. And if you agree that we need to step away from the rhetoric and actually talk then you will end up on the beating end or IRI's anger. But I know you disagree and do not believe in negotiation, you only believe in the bullying blow it up diplomacy as practiced by your master.

My class was international marketing and in business you need to get along and actually negotiate to do business (please exclude Wal-Mart though as they do nto believe in win-win situations). If you treat your customers and partners as adversaries then you are truely a fucked up business person. Sun Tzu figured it out 2000+ years ago that you always leave your opponant an out and an opportunity to claim victory even when everything is on your terms. Leaving them no opportunity to maneuver only makes them want to fight with more reckless abandon to save themselves. Taht was 2000+ years ago, and we have that much more history to back up his assertions, yet our current leadership can not see any further back than 9/11, except of course when there is an opportunity to blame something on Clinton.

I'll bet way back when the whole Iranian hostage situation hit you were majorly conflicted. Does the US continue to support Iran, and the shah, Our allies of 30+ years, even though the shah was a major human rights abuser on par or worse than Sadaam (I'll bet you say yes support him). Then once his government collapsed do we take him in as a refugee for treatment like we did? Or do we abandon our former allie? Then once the hostages get taken what do we do? Your way is to blame the current president and not take into account the previous history with Iran. Of course then when Reagan got in office we know the hostages were released in exchange for weapons spare parts which congress had dissallowed (i.e. we broke the law in a major way) and we encouraged Sadaam to fight with iran and had a market for business on both sides of the fence. You see Iran Contra actually started in 1980, it's just we did nto add the contra portion until later. But your way, whatever it is works best, don't bnegotiate, threaten and bully.

BTW every single one of my instructors save one, professed that they were conservative in values. Shoudl I have filed a complaint with the mind police who want to shut down college campuses across the country?
