‘Presidents like pork, too.’

President Bush may publicly slam congressional earmarks, but he put 15,877 of them in his 13 appropriations bills in FY2005, largely benefitting social conservatives and his wife.

    Dear TP team

Has any one come up with a specific dollar amount of the Republican corruption scandals? It would be nice to say “this republican corruption has cost you personally $150,000 year since 2000.”

  2. Pete Bogs says:

I definitely smell pork products of some kind…

  3. Fretter says:

Makes Congress look like saints. Congress had only 14,000 in FY2005.

  4. Albert says:

    Oink, oink. The kleptocracy grows.

  5. Judy says:

Doesn’t it seem like a GIGANTIC CONFLICT OF INTEREST that he’s earmarking things for his wife’s priorities? If any congressperson did that, he/she would be excorciated!!!

Presidential Pork…the other white meat that screws you.

  7. big papa says:

Read today’s NYT editorial on the Bushite budget and it’s missing information…

…then maybe the magnitude of the treason all of your poor, middle working class Bushite al Cracker neighbors, family members and friends

…will become more apparent to the decent Americans on this board…

  8. Albert says:

Jobs cut at energy lab restored before Bush visit. Now we just need to get him to visit the Veterans Administration, Medicaid offices, Pell Grant offices, any school, any hospital,… basically anything but Halliburton.

  9. mr ho says:

you know fukuyama may have done us a great favor by naming the end of the Neo-Cons. Perhaps this will give the Press, other Think Tank Ideologues and Senators the Heuvos to start going after the ‘Dead’ Neocons

  10. mr ho says:

Thats how Bush pays back his Supporters for giving him a Job that he was never Qualified for

  11. mr ho says:

While the Education Department’s budget would be cut, Mr. Bush proposes a 16% increase to $204 million for teaching sexual abstinence in high schools,

Except all the Children were left behind with the No Child Left Behind Act and Wont ever Benefit from any of these “Ideologies”
I remember a Bush Kid got caught in some parking Lot havng sex with a Girl, Underage. Perhaps Laura should LOOK in her own Backyard before Wandering into others.

Yale or Harvard, I forget which just Had ‘Sex Week’.
Is that teaching Abstinence? Is that Conservative?

I wonder what Falwell and Robertson think of the Ivey League Liberal Conservatism.

  12. Rio de los Ladrones says:

All that money to train (what kind of) librarians! As disseminators of knowledge and information, will they be keeping tack of who is studying what, eh? Will the occupation become a political appointment? As G. Dubai Bush busily re-writes his own history, and as declassified documents are busily being re-buried, the reigning establishment (executive and congressional, and sadly with the judicial perhaps now in close tow) continues to try to convince themselves the American public has eaten enough fries and watched enough tube to be sufficiently dumbed down to believe the irrelevant non issues they try to cram in our faces.
Who cares what Saddam Hussein thought of al-Queada? Irrelevant now, except that Bin Laden owes him bigtime for creating a new theater of operations, after losing his home in Afghanistan.
Bin laden is G. Dubai Bush’s (and his “buddies from Texas”) best friend, and vice versa. Without each other neither would have a justification for their existence, and the world
might be at least on its way to a hope of a
    home for all.

    Presidential Pork…

I don’t know why some things still surprise me. I really don’t….
