Molly the reason they are putting Military Bases next to Venezuela bushcabal is planning on taking Pres Chavez out and taking over his Country For Oil . I support Chavez this is a man who is really take care of his country like a President is supposed too. That’s why we pay Taxes Folks On Everything we’re supposed to be Investing in our futures with these Taxes altho’ bushcabal would have us to believe its all Entitlements when in reality its getting returns on our investments!

I buy citgo gas and wish my president had a tiny tiny bit of the goodness of Hugo Chavez. I’m very concerned that we are putting military bases next to Venezuela, they are our 4th biggest supplier of oil. You know that ain’t good…to have oil in your country, that is.And have a bunch of criminals running your country, who only think of stealing and killing.

Perhaps Joe Barton is mad because he is one of those who believe that economist Milton Friedman is a god and that business should be conducted according to Friedman’s theories. Friedman is, of course, a free marketer who believes that no government regulations on busieness are the only good regulations on business. Friedman has said, and his followers believe this will all their hearts, that a corporation cannot have compassion, and that its sole responsibility is to show a profit.

And here we have Citgo breaking that rule and showing compassion. I believe that the reason Friedman hates compassion so much is that you can’t quantify it, you can’t put a dollar value on it because it is so priceless, and because it’s almost impossible to predict the longterm benefits of corporate compassion. If Citgo is allowed to continue doing this, it will help them in the long run. (I also blame Friedman’s theories for why health care costs so much in this country, but that’s a rant I’ve gone into elsewhere.)

I guess I should be ASHAMED to have received one of those them-there letters offering me a break one ONE delivery of oil.
Hell. I get 600.00 per month. Well, not just for me,WOO, that’d be a laugh. For me AND my kid. 7200.00/ yr.
That’s all one adult and one kid should get, right?
That’s not even GVT $$. No welfare. No rent assistance.
I don’t get that.
Well, except that nasty coldness here from Nov-Apr.
Get Fuel Assistance. But I guess after reading that wonderful TexASS polititian, I simply am not worthy.
Well, I for one am going to turn in my ONE TIME chance at getting some oil to heat us. So what if we’re getting 5″ of snow tomorrow, and then Sunday the temp plumetts to 20 degrees.

Betcha Barton makes sure to sing the hymns real loud on Sunday morning.
What is it about these rich oil bastards who think they can/should control the world and keep everyone else who isn’t into “oil money” in their proper place?
The Citgo deal was a slap at Bush by Chavez and it was helpful to people in the northeast who were having to choose between food and heat.
We should check Barton’s financials, as well as his cronies to find the real crimes.

#37, I’m with you. As a Minnesotan we do have long,cold winters & people need help. I’ll be looking for a Citgo station on my next fillup, just because Chavez & Venezuela are doing something good. Christ, Exxon blew a gasket when somebody suggeted they weren’t ‘deserving’ of the $7B+ windfall from the Feds. Barton…blow me.

I’m way up in Minnesota, don’t get no heating oil from CITGO, but they do have gas stations up here. After reading this article, I’ll be buying ALL my gas from Citgo.Screw Exxon/Mobil. Citgo gets my buck!
