Aspartame has never been adequately tested - sure, plenty of tests were carried out by the company that developed it, but the FDA itself published a 57-page report drawing attention to the dishonesty and inaccuracy of the company's test methods. The company's CEO vowed that he'd get the sweetener approved anyhow, and when he quit the company to go back into politics, one of his first acts was to appoint a new FDA commissioner, whose first act was to over-rule the government scientists and approve the stuff. That CEO's name may be familiar to you. It was Donald Rumsfeld. What... rig intelligence to fit the policy? Rummy? How COULD I suggest such a thing?! Besides, 50% of the tests carried out so far on Aspartame show that it's PERFECTLY SAFE. Unfortunately, those are the tests carried out by the company. All the OTHER tests disagree.
