Do all of you have a propensity for absurd and incognitive contemplation, or is it just this page? I mean really now, there was a comment on here that said "I’m sure most self-described Republicans support the troops, but very few of them actually sign up for military duty."
Now, I wonder, where is he? Did he enlist? Chances are the answer is: NO. Why? Because he would rather tell us all about how republicans are capricious, hypocritical imbeciles who enjoy seeing our soldiers die. There's something that you people need to understand: FOR EVERY PENNY, EVERY OUNCE OF FREEDOM THAT WE, AND ANY OTHER COUNTRY, HAVE, THERE IS A PRICE OF SOME KIND!!!
Think about it, how is it that we are a free country now? Why aren't we still a part of England? Because there were people who were willing to fight for it. There were people who were willing to give their lives for the cause.
However, I am not going to say that this war in Iraq is completely exempt of criticism. But I cannot sit by while all you talk about is why it is so important that we establish that 'the war is bad'. What war isn't? When was there ever a war that was free of 'the death toll'? Never. There has also never been a war that didn't have a downside. Never.
To address president Bush, nobody is perfect. And I am relieved that no one (in the fairly moderate overview I conducted of this page) brought up, and compared, Bill Clinton. He was, afterall, a pardoned felon for draft dodging. Like I said, nobody is perfect. The whole point of an election is so that we can come as close to [the perfect president] as we can. But to get back to my topic sentence, I said this with the bottom line of this debate: You can't know everything. There is no way that a single person can know every aspect of every issue that arises. You are just supposed to know enough to make wise decisions. I will admit, there is something to be said about the war and its toll on the troops. This war was started not for oil, not because we remembered past crimes committed by Suddam Hussein, not because we just felt like it, but because we saw it as a threat. Bush was informed by the people who are paid to know these thingsthat they had weapons of mass distruction. This, regardless of whether the information was true or not, is a problem of PERCEPTION, NOT POOR DICISIONS!!!
Well I am too tired to continue this now, but you get my point. War is bad: absolutely
Bring 'em home: absolutely
Is it Bush's fault that terrorism exists: NO!!!!!!!!

Lets get something straight here. I have served three tours of duty in Iraq. I've seen combat all three tours on a daily basis. The reserve combat medic that was talked about by Robin is trying to bleed the government out of money. He never saw combat, he may have seen some bloody soldiers come in but ptsd comes mainly from the actual combat. Having bombs blow up 30 feet away from you, being shot, that causes pstd. Basically I could go to gore.com and look at pictures of dead soldiers and claim pstd if they didn't sift through these fakers. When I was over there I prayed every night that Bush would pull us out but once I got back and started thinking with a level head. WE CANNOT pull out of Iraq. the Terrorists will overrun that POS government in no time and that place will be a terrorist breeding ground. they will develop and stockpile weapons and train terrorist daily. If you bring home 130,000 soldiers you will save 1,000 from dying over there but you will be killin 50,000 civilians when the terrorists strike again 5 years from now. and thats the BIG PICTURE

Protests in India against Bush visit

Among the speakers was Raj Babbar, a Hindu politician and actor, who said: "Whether Hindu or Muslim, the people of India have gathered here to show our anger. We have only one message - killer Bush go home."

I’ll give you that when you give me your real name, your address and telephone number. How do I know whether you’re a foreign enemy of this country or just a domestic enemy of this country?

One thing you have to remember is, the PXs in Iraq do not stock Time, Newsweek, etc. It's all biker mags, car mags, comic books, light stuff.

On the one hand you can say that's good because it doesn't weight them down with the controversy back here, but OTOH it leaves them ripe for disinformation like Rush Limbaugh, who, incredibly, is broadcast on Armed Forces Radio without any sort of equal time for opposing opinion (although they were going to start carrying Ed Schultz, who's sort of a Liberal Lite.

In my opinion, that makes the results understandable, even the ones that don't seem to jibe with each other. It's hard to get an accurate picture or idea of what the controversy is back here unless you really seek it out, and that's hard to do. So it seems like people are unpatriotic becasue you may not have a clue what else it could be. Etc.

Oops my bad, I had Hitler was asking Roosevelt to get rid of them, he was thinking the USA would take them - dear oh dear how times have changed in the good old US of A. Let's try again:

"Why does the world shed crocodile’s tears over the richly merited fate of a small homosexual minority? … I ask Mr Bush, I ask the American people: Are you prepared to continue to tolerate in your midst these well-poisoners of the American people and the universal spirit of Christianity? I would willingly give everyone of them a free air-ticket and a twenty-dollar note for travelling expenses, if we could get rid of them."

That's better, makes sense now - up with the times kind of thing.
