Anybody notice that Trent stops himself from saying "I am a conservative" and quickly changes to "I am a Republican."?
Still, Lott, Hastert and DeLay, all against Bush on this is a great thing.

March 1st, 2006 at 2:13 pmLott is just mad because Bush and Frist threw him under the buss for the remarks at Strom's B-day bash. He'd love to stick it to them but he know he can't so he rants. He was all for demonising the opposition when he was the majority leader but he got the same treatment that everyone gets who becomes a liability to Bush-Cheney. He needs to have some tea with Libby, Lay, Abrarmoff, so they can share their "horror" stories about how bad they got what they used to give...

1 - It's stupid to allow a country that supports terrorism to control an American port.
2 - He's trying to distance himself from Pres. Bush and his failed policies before the mid-term elections, and will claim "I'm not a rubber-stamp politician! I think for myself!"
3 - Someone disagreed with him.
As much as I hope #1, I doubt Sen. Lott would place partisanship behind American Security.
As much as I'm joking about #3, I wouldn't be too surprised if it were true.
Personally, I think it's #2. "I'm not a rubber-stamp politician! I've been told that I think for myself!"

One minute Frist is against the port deal, the next minute (and after one of those infamous White House meetings with Rove) Frist is now for the port deal. I am SO hoping that the republicans will put their Haliburton/Carlyle millions behind the Frist monkey.
