Abramoff Bills Contradict DeLay’s ‘Clean Bill of Health’ Claim

Delayfox.JPG

During his interview with Fox News today, Tom DeLay said his hands are clean of Abramoff’s malfeasance:

I’ve hired lawyers that look through everything that we’ve done, my relationship with Jack Abramoff, every contact we made with him, everything. And they’ve given me a complete bill — clean bill of health.

DeLay might want new lawyers. From an ABC News report published today:

When Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Texas) and his wife flew from Houston to a golf resort in Scotland in June 2000, the first-class airfare cost $14,001, a big-ticket item for a public servant. But someone else paid.

The American Express bills of convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff show he footed the bill for the tickets, in an apparent violation of House ethics rules.

    Shoot the moron.

  2. Gerald Gibson says:

As long as you lie and everyone else is to so no one questions you then you are clean…that is the rule.

  3. Grant says:

How can his hands be clean if he’s shoveling this much manure?

  4. Tom DeLay says:

    Ummmm….oops!

I meant I didn’t do anything wrong except that thing…. and all the others.

Hey, did I tell you about that test I took in high school? I got 100% on it, if you don’t count all the questions I got wrong.

And I figured out the cure for cancer. Only I my dog ate it.

And I am a descendant of Jesus. Just ignore the fact that I’m really not.

  5. afterthought says:

The lie gets more coverage than the truth,
therefore the truth doesn’t matter… except
    to the courts, I hope.
We live in Orwell’s “1984″, some of us know
    it, others never will.
Now I’m off for some “Victory Gin”!

  6. Vance says:

Delay is a child Molester im certain…..scumbags like him and Bush always touch children….only a matter of time before this comes to light for them both.

They all sit on the Republican Throne of Lies.

  8. Howdy Neighbor says:

He stumbles on (my lawyers have) “given me a complete bill…”
Yeah, a complete list of just how screwed you are.
A completed bill for our services because there is nothing more we or any other army of lawyers can do for you now.

  9. afterthought says:

    #9,

And when have lawyers ever failed to give
    a client “a complete bill”?
    Thank you very much…
    I’m here all week…
    STOP Throwing things…

  10. daniel says:

I always thought is was doctors (not lawyers) who are supposed to comment on your health? Maybe Delay is so twisted around with all his lies that he now gets legal advice from his doctors and medical advice from his lawyers…
Maybe he means the lawyers gave him a healthy bill(very big number) which if he paid completely, would clean him out?

  11. dlet says:

Oh lordy, lordy. If Texans don’t revolt against these scumbags that feed them sh#t everyday and expect no consequences, then good riddance. Having pride is one thing but when that pride gets in the way of admitting errors in judgement and you continue to follow the same path even when its clear that you are following sh#theads, well thats just stupidity.

  12. Impeach Justices Who Ignore Privacy says:

I thought this was old news. Am I wrong?

(Moi?) Did I hit something or somethings?

  16. Marie says:

Delay’s saying his hands are clean is like the four year old who claims he didn’t eat the chocolate cake when his face is covered in crumbs and frosting.
You don’t believe either one — except you can excuse the four year old for being a kid.

  17. G.W.SuperChrist says:

I think he’s telling the truth.

  19. Progressaurus Rex says:

bush … delay … even lbj was a jerkass.

the state of texas owes the rest of america an apology

personally, i’m for a constitutional amendment that prevents texans from any government post besides their congressional delegations.

  20. Jay Randal says:

Tom DeLay got caught red-handed in dirty deals with Jack Abramoff, so he must RESIGN from his House seat, and return to Texas as a Cockroach Exterminator for the rest of his damn dumb life!

  21. Solitaire says:

It’s the GOP mantra; when all else fails, deny everything, admit to nothing. If you tell a lie often enough, people might begin to believe you.
    War is Peace.
    Black is White.
    DeLay is Honest.

  22. ElectricBassPlayer says:

    Awww, no trolls?

I guess DeLay isn’t on Troll Talking Points these days.

  23. ElectricBassPlayer says:

PS: Haha, I guess trial attorneys are now OK for Republicans to consort with.

Suddenly one man’s frivolous lawsuit is another man’s courageous countersuit.

Fucking neocon hypocrite liars. They obviously don’t believe in the religion they spout so loudly for all to hear, or they would be dreading eternal damnation.

  24. Politics in the Zeros»Blog Archive » Abramoff paid for DeLay trip says:

[...] DeLay isn’t real bright, is he? Especially since he claimed on Fox that his records were squeaky clean. [...]

  25. Zimzone says:

Let’s put old Tommy Boy in a slow boat to Dubai.
He can work on the docks, learn Arabic & do all
the bug exterminating on the ships.
This MoFu has got to go!

  26. blueneck says:

The “circle of trust” only works as long as everybody lies to protect the lie. If someone finally tells the truth in order to get a shortened sentence, then the whole thing comes crumbling down. Tom seems to think that the lie is still continuing and that all “team players” are “still aboard”.
