Combating the radical gay penguin agenda.
A children’s book “about two male penguins who raise a baby penguin” has been removed from the kid’s section of two public libraries after complaints it had “homosexual undertones.” The book is “based on a true story of two male penguins, named Roy and Silo, who adopted an abandoned egg at New York City’s Central Park Zoo in the late 1990s.”

March 7th, 2006 at 6:11 pmThe ultra conservative repugnicans strike again - had they taken the time to consult any web site dealing with penguins they would have LEARNED that the male penguin cares for and incubates the fertilized egg after it is dropped on his feet by his mate. The Female penguin then goes off for weeks to feed while the male stands guard over the egg,keeping it warm and free from danger. Once the egg is hatched mother nature sees to it that the female returns to raise the baby. The male does not eat during this incubation period. Now I know how stupid these ultra conservative repugnicans really are.

The people who complained about the books were within their rights to complain. The libraries, however, were not within their rights to remove the book form their shelves. Their duty was to protect free speech, not join Hitler in a book burning party. Shame on the libraries for knuckling under to this sort of bigotry.

Penguin fathers share care of their eggs with the mothers, in fact they normally spend more time doing so as the mother travels and consumes food.
