Santorum, 1/17/06:
QUESTION: Senator Santorum, you have been the Senate’s liaison for the so-called K Street projects. It’s been reported you hosted monthly meetings with lobbyists, the top lobbyists in town. What makes you the correct person to lead this charge to reform?
SANTORUM: Well, I don’t know what you mean by Senate liaison to the, quote, “K Street Project.” I’m not aware of any Senate liaison job that I do for the K Street Project.
After saying in January that he would end his regular meetings with lobbyists, Sen. Rick Santorum (Pa.), the third-ranking GOP leader in the Senate, has continued to meet with many of the same lobbyists at the same time and on the same day of the week.
Sen. Rick Santorum (R-K Street)
March 9th, 2006 at 10:24 amSantorum is a certified nut, so he needs to resign from the Senate today! GOP is crazy to give him any position of power!
March 9th, 2006 at 10:33 amRemind me again, which party is it that still gets labeled as being tyhe party of special interests and being in the hip pocket of the lobbiests? I’m so confused on this issue!
March 9th, 2006 at 10:38 amI dont trust people that have no shame…there is something missing from their “soul”
March 9th, 2006 at 10:39 amCan we say “Culture of Corruption”?
March 9th, 2006 at 10:42 am“I did not have “sexual relations” with that woman.”
Semantics; The right question would have not used the title “Senate Liason” or “K-Street Project.”The reporter should have stuck to the 2nd half of the Question, which Santorum weasled out of by correctly although misleadingly stating there is no such thing “officially” known as the K-Street Project” or a Senate Liason to K-Street, in response to the 1st part.
Sleaze, Sleaze, and more Sleaze, please.
March 9th, 2006 at 10:43 amNow that we are living under a Dick Tater Ship, does that mean the rest of the world can stop hating our freedom now?
Goper’s Lament
March 9th, 2006 at 10:58 amHe’s learned from Rove, Cheney, Rumsfeld – So we can’t find the quote WMD’s in Iraq. Saddam was quote connected to Bin Laden.
March 9th, 2006 at 11:05 amFar be it from me to accuse a politician of lying. The red state people strongly believe their politicians never lie. They actually say Bush is a man of his word! And that’s just the sort of religious belief I have to respect ;)
March 9th, 2006 at 11:08 am“Read my lips, no new taxes!”
“I am not a crook!”
“We don’t torture”
Oh, and that Iraq thing?
“Mission accomplished”
Gee, thanks for that.
March 9th, 2006 at 11:11 amSlow Down #4, you are making a big assumption there. How do we know he has a soul period, let alone a soul lacking something?
March 9th, 2006 at 11:13 amHe was against corruption after he was for it, and before he was for it again.
K for Klepto!
#4 “I dont trust people that have no shame…there is something missing from their “soul†Comment by Gerald Gibson — March 9, 2006 @ 10:39 am”
My working theory these days is that Neocons worship George W. Bush. They certainly put more faith in him than Jesus up in Heaven or the Constitution down here on Earth. They lie for him, defend him, attack others for him, break faith with their constituents (the average ones, that is) for him, and have indeed sold their souls for him.
#5 “Can we say “Culture of Corruptionâ€? Comment by S.D. — March 9, 2006 @ 10:42 am”
LOL The K in K-Street must mean Kulture of Korruption
March 9th, 2006 at 11:15 amI think my favorite quote about Santorum was from Bob Kerrey (Nebraska), who at one time reportedly said, “Santorum must be Latin for a$$hole.”
March 9th, 2006 at 11:17 amSantorum, another zealot and our version of Al-Queda, using religion to further his personal goals. And really, do we want someone like that making law? C’mon, he sleeps with fetuses – the only thing he doesn’t lie about. He is wicked.
March 9th, 2006 at 11:26 amI dunno. Looking at the picture, I mean.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but Ricky looks so clean, handsome, and well groomed sitting there. So Republican. Especially with the American flag behind him over his “right” shoulder.
March 9th, 2006 at 11:33 amK-Street Kulture of Korruption (KKK) hmmm now it is starting to make sense.
March 9th, 2006 at 11:38 amIt is now called “Senator Santorum’s Sewing Circle”, where such sordid subjects are surely secondary. Semantics, see?
March 9th, 2006 at 11:45 amActions speak souder than words. Santorum gives Gumbies a bad name.
March 9th, 2006 at 12:48 pmSantorum and his ilk: if their lips are moving, they’re lying. How can the media and America still ascribe any legitimacy to this cabal of thieves? How many more lies to they have to be caught in?
Appalling, yep. But it’s what you get courtesy of Karl Rove’s election fraud machine. Plenty more of this to come, folks…
But then there’s Clint Curtis. Clint Curtis is mounting a congressional bid in Florida against Tom Feeney. As many of you know, Curtis was the programmer hired by Feeney to write election-stealing software a few years back. Since then, much has happened, including the suspicious death of the Florida Inspector General Raymond Lemme looking into the matter and the total media clampdown of any serious discussion of electronic election manipulation in Florida and across the nation. Curtis, a former Republican, became so disgusted by what he saw that he became a whistleblower. The whole sordid tale is chronicled on http://www.bradblog.com.
Here’s Curtis in his own words:
My name is Clint Curtis. I am considering running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida’s 24th Congressional District. This great district is currently represented by one of the most corrupt politicians in history. Having personally attended closed-door meetings where Tom Feeney spoke candidly about his aspirations of corruption forces me to provide this district with an alternative to this man. I will need your help.

Now Curtis is considering a congressional run against the VERY well-funded Feeney. He promises to fight for fair elections and to expose electronic vote fraud. He is the ONLY candidate who will take it to the NeoCons on this issue. And he needs our help. He’s got to raise $300K in the next month in order to take on Feeney. Note that being a man of integrity, if he does not run he plans to return all contributions.
Because of his willingness to take on election fraud, I believe Curtis may be the single most important candidate for the progressive community to promote. Please visit his web site and offer to help, donate even $5 if you can spare it, and help spread the word. It’s time to TAKE BACK AMERICA–and Mr. Curtis may be own only chance of overcoming a rigged election system.

March 9th, 2006 at 1:24 pmIt’s okay, they don’t call it the K Street Project anymore, it’s just breakfast with contributions.
March 9th, 2006 at 2:09 pmIt’s always the same – don’t pay attention to what they say — watch what they do. Your own eyes will tell the truth.
March 9th, 2006 at 3:49 pmOh Rickie – the shit never stops with you.
Pennsylvanians – vote Chuck Pennachio in the May primaries for US Senate. The State Democratic party is endorsing Bob Casey and the Pricinct Committe leaders are endorsing Chuck Pennachio. Harrisburg is out of touch with the real issues. Bob Casey will be Rick Santorum “light”. Chuck Pennachio will bring a change to Washington. Chuck will vote for impeachment, Bob may sit on the fence.
March 9th, 2006 at 5:11 pm[...] Sen. Rick Santorum, on the other hand, was his old ideological self, voting with the 46 Republicans. Mr. Santorum talks a good game about family values, but when push came to vote, he decided not to help the working poor lift themselves from poverty, siding instead with the Chamber of Commerce types.” [...]
