Fighting them there so we can fight them everywhere.

“A new U.N. report said Wednesday that al Qaeda in Iraq is aiming ‘to launch attacks wherever targets are available’ and that some ‘senior fighters have left Iraq to gather existing supporters and these fresh recruits into new cells.’ The report…said that both the core al Qaeda leaders in Afghanistan and the more active leadership in Iraq are making efforts to extend their influence.”

This is what you might call the ‘retro-active’ talking point: Seeing as one of the completely fictitious excuses for dragging as much of the U.S. Armed Forces to Iraq as the U.S. Treasury (and the American People) could bear, was…

There’s al Qaeda in Iraq! There’s al Qaeda in Iraq!

…that makes this ‘UN Report’ just a present-day echo of that completely fictitious chant back then; back then in those phony ‘pre-war intelligence’ “let’s say whatever it takes to justify this treasury-busting invasion” days.

So, we’re back where we started: An Administration pulling out all the stops to justify the continued occupation, in addition to smoothing over that pre-war lie of yesterday, all by way of (let’s all chant!)…

There’s al Qaeda in Iraq! There’s al Qaeda in Iraq!

    The retro-active talking point.

You know, in the interest of sharpening up the dialogue on this issue, I’m going to perform a public service, right here, right now: I’m going to define for you just what “al Qaeda” is.

A lot of the confusion that has surrounded the post-9-11 ‘get no Justice, but get an invasion of Iraq’ environment, has been a confusion about this word “al Qaeda”.

The American People were told “al Qaeda” did it; but they couldn’t find “al Qaeda” on the map, and they didn’t know what kind of uniforms they wore, or what kind of tatoos or other insignia they were recognizable by, or what Nationality or Race or Ethnic group they were (though they had an idea as to Religious preference)…

But still, they were told “al Qaeda” did it; which made it kind of hard to focus all that Anger and Grief that resulted from 9-11 (which was sort of the point, I think).

Well here you go, the public service of defining the word “al Qaeda”:

    Who “al Qaeda” is, is…

The International Political Action Committee of the Saudi Royal Family

    (you know, GWB’s “good friends”)

And, as opposed to what persons it is who take that name “al Qaeda” (which I just told you in the above), what the word “al Qaeda” actually means is…

    “They went thataway!”

(”thataway” being whatever direction you’re pointing to, when you say “they went thataway!”; which was at first Afghanistan, and then it was Iraq, but it’s never Saudia Arabia; even though that’s both where they went, and where they came from)

I don’t know about y’all, but I would like to take a vacation from the constant harangue pressurring us to blow up somebody or go to war somewhere.

Hey…How about we take a break and start working an a different tack. You know, one where we work toward common goals with each other and other nations. It would be a lot more human and Christian in nature than all of the drum banging going on.

How about we start leading by example instead of trying to force all nations into our idea of democracy? Our model hasn’t been working too well when exported (cf Russia, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Palestine). People need to just STOP and think. The more threatening (read rightwing) we become, the more they move to the right as well until finally it is just a big shooting Gallery. This ultra-religious militaristic mindset has to stop sometime. Doesn’t everyone need peace of mind sometime.

For Christ’s sakes! I’ve had enough. We win every point on a rational argument, but it doesn’t matter a hill of beans because the con’s own/run the government, the media, and the law. And the only “voice” in this country is bought with hideous scads of money.

Anyone know of a good island to retreat to without partisans?

#The fundamental change in U.S. policy, however, came several years later, in 1950, with the policy paper produced by Paul Nitze for the White House National Security Council, entitled “NSC-68.”[6]

  8. Irishamerican says:

    To mr Ho…….

    This is from NSC 68:

III. Fundamental Design of the Kremlin

I have Changed just a couple of names in reference to “Kremlin” or “Soviet Union”….Tell me if you think this sounds farmiliar……

III. Fundamental Design of the Bush Family Legacy

The fundamental design of those who control the United States and the Global Economy is to retain and solidify their absolute power, first in the United States and second in the areas now under their control. In the minds of the Bush Cabal, however, achievement of this design requires the dynamic extension of their authority and the ultimate elimination of any effective opposition to their authority. (see PNAC)

The design, therefore, calls for the complete subversion or forcible destruction of the machinery of government and structure of society in the countries of the world and their replacement by an apparatus and structure subservient to and controlled from the The White House and US Corporate Board Rooms. To that end Bush Administration efforts are now directed toward the domination of the Eurasian land mass. The minority of free thinking peoples of the United States, as the principal center of power in the remnants of the no defunct “Republic” of the United States and the bulwark of opposition to Corporate Global expansion, is the principal enemy whose integrity and vitality must be subverted or destroyed by one means or another if the Bush Administration (PNAC) is to achieve its fundamental design.

  9. Irishamerican says:

And this is what we USED to stand for……This is just a memory now….

II. Fundamental Purpose of the United States

The fundamental purpose of the United States is laid down in the Preamble to the Constitution: “. . . to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.” In essence, the fundamental purpose is to assure the integrity and vitality of our free society, which is founded upon the dignity and worth of the individual.

Three realities emerge as a consequence of this purpose: Our determination to maintain the essential elements of individual freedom, as set forth in the Constitution and Bill of Rights; our determination to create conditions under which our free and democratic system can live and prosper; and our determination to fight if necessary to defend our way of life, for which as in the Declaration of Independence, “with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”

  11. Jackie Rawlings says:

Bush knows who to mess with and who not to mess with. North Korea would blow him away and wouldn’t think twice about it. We know its not about terror its about profit, greed and stealing. If any country has what the US wants then we invade we just use the word terroris. Notice as we stand in Iraq and Iraq people want us out. England is withdrawing troops. Soon we will be the only country in Iraq fighting for oil and power. Maybe Iraq should have George W Bush as their President that way the United States can recover from the corruption by the Bush Admiin.

#3 Very Good! How right you are… Now how do we get this out to the general unknowing public about bushbinladin best friends and family of oil, murder and general mayhem?

This bush Saga is only costing us 38,000 per man/woman/child and unborn children and that’s why very important programs like Education,Medicare,Medicaid and…. Community Action Grants are cut down to weenie size. NOLA will not be getting any more money to rebuild and the poor in America will become like the poor in other 3rd world countries living in the mud and dirt and no one sees them.

We need a 3rd party that has the Guts to knock these ba&&&7trds down and out………

At some point the president actually said “I want to punish POWs more sadistically than the law will allow.” And quite frankly, I’m saddened that the survivors of this torture are profiteering from it.

(glumly) Hmm, 3 years since the war started. . . I guess they finished their training in their new geographical base in Iraq.

We will reap what we have sown.

  21. James says:

Great News! The GWOT can be expanded into an almighty crusade to liberate the opressed people in all muslim lands. Our stretched army will spearhead that effort..

The UN tends to be behind the times, given that they are sensitive to political (US) pressure. It appears that even they can criticize the US freely now – which we also saw with the report on G Bay.

  22. Cyra Brown says:

So… would this be considered “creationism” or “evolution”? Thoughts ?

Bush, the Pandora president. We are left with only hope — hope that he is removed from office; hope that somehow the effects of his administration can be undone; hope that sanity will return to the world.

  24. Paul in Mexico says:

This OPERATION SWARMER, or whatever it is called, is swarming all over the news.

But – you aint seen anything yet. Karl Rove, as CofC is going to have an operation a week because of the low polls of our fearless leader.

Yep, we are gonna take Iraq apart now by the square mile, 10 of them at a time. Once again putting American boys and girls in danger, but the papers and news outlets will be told that most of the fighting is done by the Iraqis. The casualty figures will be closely held, and no news agency will be allowed to be embedded with these suprise raids.

Rove thinks that this is going to take all of the heat off of Bush. You will see more and more stuff coming out indicating that the Qaeda bunch was running Iraq at the time we invaded.

The MSM has got their marching orders and will follow in lockstep. Bet on it!

  25. Keith H. says:

War is the only things these superhawks know. They have no diplomacy and can’t understand other nations’ leaders. They just can’t formulate a good plan because they are incapable. We can’t expect any more from such low IQs.

If it weren’t for Bush’s wealth, he would have been on the small bus heading to school. When you think of it, I guess we almost can’t blame him as he doesn’t comprehend the logical.

This admin’s only option is war as they just don’t have the powers of deduction to even think about anything else. No diplomacy, just big sticks.

  28. lpt says:

Too late Mr. President, we are fighting “them” here-it started when on Sept.11,2001 flight 93 passengers bravely fought back suicide attackers. It should never have happened if you pulled your head out of your armpit and read the freaking pdb.
