[...] That does not mean we have to give up on our principles to get things done. It means sticking to principles and reaching across party lines to build bridges with likeminded people on the other side. More importantly, it means holding onto your senate seat with the tenacity of an eighteen year old smear of chewing gum that will never, ever leave the pavement. Remember, Lieberman isn’t actually talking about resolving a political crisis beyond his loss of the Democratic nomination. His false comparison of bipartisanship in New London undercuts his argument for Kumbayah in the Senate chambers. As someone who has supported the war, I feel a heavy personal responsibility to end our mission in Iraq as quickly as possible. But I believe that Ned Lamont’s strategy of pulling all our troops out by an arbitrary, politically determined date will lead to the collapse of Iraq, Iran surging in, and Iraq becoming a safe haven for al-Qaida and a launching pad for terrorist strikes against other countries in the region and the United States. Look guys, you know me! I’m against “arbitrary, politically determined dates” in all their forms. Iraq, senate terms, whatever it is, I’m against it. Our disagreement, however, does not end there. I believe that the best way for us to win the war in Iraq is to come together - the administration, Congress, and Republicans and Democrats - to find a solution that will allow our troops to come home with Iraq united and free, with the Middle East stable and the terrorists denied a victory. My opponent has a different idea: unilateral, arbitrary withdrawal, and never mind the consequences. There’s so much self-indulgent throb wankery in here it’s hard to know where to start. The Bush administration has no interest in coming together to win the war. Bush has committed US troops for the duration of his term. Coming together, from Bush’s standpoint, would only take place in the form of rubber-stamp approval of Bush’s methods. No one is moving towards the solution that you present because it exists only in the Klonopin addled minds of the most rabid Bush supporters. Sane observers (or even newly-sane politicians like Chris Shays) have known that this war is unwinnable, will not create stability and has served to train tens of thousands of new terrorists who hate America. Lieberman is endorsing a vision of Iraq put forward before the start of the war, unchanged despite tens of thousands of American casualties and hundreds of billions of dollars wasted. As Atrios said, simply “gather[ing] around the campfire and agree[ing] on something” is not a solution. My opponent’s idea of change is no change. He wants to simply wrap the partisanship and polarization of the last few years in a blue ribbon instead of red one. My plan is to be the most vehement partisan for the Connecticut for Lieberman paisley ribbon of bipartisan sing-alongs and weeny roasts. Seriously though, Lieberman is putting forward the notion that ideas can only be bad when systematized within the coherent structure of a party platform. This is taking stupidity to a brave new level. I have a different plan. I want to build a new politics of unity and purpose that will cut through the gridlock in Washington and solve problems for my constituents, my state and my country. After serving you for 18 years in the Senate, I still believe that together, Team Connecticut can renew America’s greatness and make our future as good as we all want it to be. Nothing cuts through gridlock like becoming a political pariah that other elected officials have to bolt from events to avoid any inopportune photographs. [...]

[...] “Staying ’til we win Iraq” (paraphrasing, but not much) is too simple and insulting. In essence Bush already gave a timetable when he said the time to withdrawl would be for future presidents to decide, which means that he’s not responsive to a changing scenario. And isn’t that we he and he neo-cons keep reminding us that he deserves these immense powers –because of that elusive, ever-adapting enemy? [...]

If you Liberals think the President did all you say in these post as wicked as you portray him then how come you say it on TV and in the paper but you can’t take your Proof to the people or the authorities?(And make sure there not forged). How come he is still the President I don’t know how you believe what you do but that’s your right it’s not your fault the why you were rasid. But if I were you I'd call Ted Kennedy and tell him to call an impeachment or something I mean if you think his the one responsible for Katrina the war on terror. Let me ask you if we are losing the war how come we haven’t been reattacked. And why can’t we still win?

Your expletives maybe but not a lot else.
I will not bother answering to any more of your insults and expletives for the time being. It’s a waste of my time, and I seriously doubt that you have convinced anyone here but your fellow trolls of your imaginary “intelligence and superiority.”

I-WRONG-I
You’re a riot! You regularly use foul language and more incorrect grammar and spelling than I have bothered to try to correct,

Nonsense, all my expletives are spelled correctly and perfectly phrased.

and now you think I should be banned for politely making a few suggestions for better grammar?

There is no such thing as a polite leftwingfucktard.

Or are you upset that I pointed out to you that World War II ended not “50 years ago” but in 1945–about 60 years ago?

Yes, you can't imagine how that stung.

You’re the Nazi, Buddy!

You think only Left Wing Fucktards suffer from the product put out by the NEA and this nation’s teachers?

Judd…this person should be banned. We should not allow some Grammar Nazi to cause the products of public education to feel any loss of self esteem whether on the Left or the Right.

I really appreciate your feedback...

...I guess I do tend to take this situation too seriously...

...after all it's only a bunch of raghead Iraqis, and misguided american youngsters who are dying and getting maimed, right?

...I really shouldn't be so upset with TREASONOUS anti-American, right wing racist propagandists like Laura Ingraham, who spport this mass murder and bankrupting of America...

...and I REALLY should control my impulse to tell you to kiss my entire a*s...

...you peddle that sunny side of the street sh*t somewhere else...

...and as for my spelling errors you get the gist...sh*thead...

And, Heather dear, how many times can you write sentences that are clearly questions without using question marks (not to mention certain commas and periods where required)?

It’s interesting to note that WWII ended fifty years ago.

To I-WRONG-I,
For the record, World War II ended in 1945. If that's "50 years ago," then this year is still 1995. You certainly do make quite a case for your vaunted home-schooling.

#355, let me add my data point on MA to the list - she told me once that her Dad was a B-17 pilot - now deceased. We were talking about ‘what good was the New Deal anyway?’ Funny the B-17 stuff didn’t come up again after I brought up the GI Bill.

You have more patience than I do.... ;)
