While the average rate of U.S. troop fatalities in Iraq has fallen this month, the rate at which they are being wounded has dramatically increased. “[I]n the 39 days from Feb. 11 through March 21, 616 U.S. soldiers were injured in Iraq, an average of 15.8 per day. This was more than twice as bad as the Feb. 4-10 period when 47 U.S. soldiers were injured at an average rate of just under seven per day.”

As a happy, healthy, heterosexual, Christian man, all I have to say to this is thank God.
It seems that most of America is starting to wake up and realize that gay marriage is not the end of the world and perhaps we have more important things to worry about: war, the economy, the national debt, political corruption, corporate corruption, foreign relations, Medicare, health care, etc.
Now, let’s keep this issue on the front burner so those numbers of people who disapprove of gay marriage continue to drop.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:11 amYea, Katie Couric, Wal-Mart is as American as crappy minimum wage jobs.
It’s as American as people using Medicaid as a healthplan.
It’s as American as selling crap goods from Saipai sweatshops made by children.
It’s as American as small town business going out of business.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:14 amOpposition to gay marriage is declining.
The telephone poll of 1,405 adults was conducted March 8-12 and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
Meaningless nonsense. The majority of states have passed laws forbidding sexual deviants from marrying and there is a big push to keep them from abusing children by adoption.
Homosexuality is and always has been a disease of the mind and that is what the majority of the people in this country know to be a fact. It’s my hope that the Donks once again champion sexual deviancy in the upcoming elections. The party of Treason, Abortion and Sodomy must be destroyed and the people will vote them out of office. Thanks Think communist for bringing this issue back to the fore where normal people can see what it is you really stand for.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:18 amIRI–
Do you have any facts to back up your “homosexuality is … a disease of the mind” claim, or are you just yanking stuff out of your homophobic ass?
Oh, and did any notice the note at the bottom of Cheney’s commands? What the hell is a “Super Volunteer”?
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:24 amKatie Couric — when you’re a millionaire, when you have fans eager to catch of glimpse of you, when the world knows your name, you become increasingly unaware of how the most of us (and your fans) live.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:24 amThe ignorance on display wiith her words of praise for Wal-Mart make my point.
My mom and pop didn’t exploit me, they looked out for my welfare – whose mom and pop is Wal-Mart?
Amen to Marie’s comment! Good lord, Couric is not a respectable journalist. She is a joke. Her interviews are just a game of easy softball on a Sunday afternoon. It’s strange that she seems to be aware of only butt cancer as human suffering and not any other type, such as poverty-level living due to Wal-Mart’s wages, or living without any health care as a Wal-Mart employee and the effects of that, particularly when there are children involved.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:29 amMarie – you’re an anti-business commie. Leave Wal-Mart alone, asshole.
Opposition to gay marriage is on decline because we are not talking about it. Bobcat fuckwad – bring it up in the next election. I dare you.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:33 amBush needs to give a big present to the nation today > his RESIGNATION! He can go back to Texas forever and ride his bicycle and have sex with Jeff Gannon >lol.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:33 amJay – ain’t gonna happen. Get resigned to that, dipshit.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:35 amPost 9 > are you one of those lame idiots that was at Bush’s event yesterday? LOL if not you should have been there > Karl Rove needs fascists like you!
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:38 amGotta disagree here bobcat. This is one of the emotional smoke screen/ wedge issues the rethugs are counting on this fall and 08. Dems for homosexuality- Thugs against. In Wisco, the rethugs have proposed a bill due to be debated just before the elections this fall. It has already been exposed as a tool to remove our dem gov. The current emotional issues don’t bode well for dems- especially on abortion.
However, I do agree that folks are waking up to the fact that there are bigger issues of concern.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:40 amHuman sexuality and gender preference runs along a continuum; from monogamy to polygamy, heterosexuality to homosexuality. Throughout human evolution (biologically, socially, culturally) many variations on human sexuality have been expressed.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:43 amYeah Jay – and we need Stalinist sympathizers like yourself to show how unhinged the left is. We can NEVER let you back in power.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:43 amIRI,
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:43 amI think I have come to the conclusion that the so-called left is really just a logical response to corrupt regimes. The Neocons would state the opposite is true byt I don’t think they really believe it. I personally do not care for radical lefties and I did not become politically involved until 2000. Moreso after 2004. I’m ready for a new government, whether Republican, Democrat or other.
The Neocons know that their philosophies totally counter the spirit of freedom and when they threaten it all bets are off. You’ve got some serious problems IRI, not the least of which is your obsession with other people’s business. I think most of the problems you have are because you simply enjoy having problems.
I think most people here would agree your behavior has changed over the months you have posted here. You think you have a strong identity but really your identity is controlled by the behavior of others.
Meaningless nonsense. The majority of states have passed laws forbidding sexual deviants from marrying and there is a big push to keep them from abusing children by adoption.
You are an idiot. Did you know that the percentage of pedophiles that identify themselves as homosexual is LOWER than the general population? Meaning you, I-Right-I are more likely to be a child molestor than your gay neighbor.
Homosexuality is and always has been a disease of the mind and that is what the majority of the people in this country know to be a fact.
Assinine. Truly. It’s not a disease of the mind. It can’t be cured. People are born that way. It’s not a choice.
You like women, right, IRI? At what point in you adolesence did you DECIDE that you liked women? I’m sure you just realized one day that, “Hey. I like boobs.”
It’s my hope that the Donks once again champion sexual deviancy in the upcoming elections.
It’s only considered deviant by 28% of America, dude. That ain’t most. And elections aren’t won with 28% of the vote.
The party of Treason, Abortion and Sodomy must be destroyed and the people will vote them out of office.
I agree. The Republican party should be voted out of office.
Thanks Think communist for bringing this issue back to the fore where normal people can see what it is you really stand for.
Once again. “Normal” is defined based upon what the standard is for most people. 28% isn’t most.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:44 amBobcat – SHUT UP. You are not a Christian. You support killing babies, I am sure.
As for gay marriage, please bring it up. You will be wiped out at the polls…. again.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:46 amI-Right-I “invade their country, kill their leaders and convert the rest to Christianity.â€
Comment by I-RIGHT-I — March 20, 2006 @ 10:17 am
Sorry to let facts get in the way, but we did invade their country. We did kill their leaders. And we did let them instill ISLAM as their STATE RELIGION. Read the new Iraq Constitution.
But I guess it is ok, in your view, to have a State Religion, so long as it is Christianity. You would have outlawed the beliefs of many of our founding fathers. Washington and Jefferson, to name two, were students of the Enlightenment. Their beliefs were closer to contemporary Paganism than the mainstream Christianity of their day.
If you are the model of what it is to be a Christian, what does that say about Christ’s teachings? Are we to convert everybody into a religion of intolerance, bigotry and hatred? Is that what it means to be a Christian?
Christ did not wish to kill nor incarcerate those who did not choose to follow Him, yet you do. I see no congruence between the message in your posts and the message of The Sermon on the Mount.
You might want to think about the image of Christ you are projecting.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:46 amPost 13 > You and your lover Bush are why most Americans want Republicans out of power for all eternity > lol.

March 23rd, 2006 at 9:50 amIf Bush were a real man he’s state his affiliation with the PNAC cult.
But he won’t.
He knows he can’t be himself and win.
He knows he can’t support PNAC and have support in the Congress.
We all know.
Having worked in a diverse work enviroment, including homosexuals, blacks, latinos, etc, I find that there is very little difference between any of us. Sure they may have different sexual preferences, different skin colors, and religions, but the majority of people want the same thing. To live their life as they please without bigotry and hate. We all want to raise our familes, work at our jobs, and be happy.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:51 amIRI,
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:53 amHow does it make you feel that your PNAC friends made the biggest strategic blunder imaginable?
PNAC is dead. There are no soldiers. There is no money. There is a fading, dark dream. It died faster than the hippy communes.
I-RIGHT-I you are a complete twat.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:55 amCriticism of George Bush has to stop. Criticism of the war in Iraq has to stop. Do your part and start recognizing the positive. Turn a blind eye to the negative. America can take more wounded and dead soldiers in Iraq. It would be nice if everybody would fall in line and all agree with I-Right-I.
Come on, be nice. Be polite.
George Bush would appreciate it too!

The 1950s are over idiot. Ed Murrow BURIED your hero McCarthy. YOU LOST. Communism has NOTHING to do with Americans on the left… It didnt in the 1950s and it doesnt today. Your attempt to go back to the bad ol days of the red scare make you look really stupid and young.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:57 amKatie Couric desrves an obnoxious singing bass on the wall in her cubicle at nbc. It will look good above to her warped particle board desk, plastic picture frames containing her well medicated prozac grinnin’ mugshot. Yes, thank you Wal-mart, for creating a world like Bu$h’s…where you don’t expect much & you don’t get much.

Do you have any facts to back up your “homosexuality is … a disease of the mind†claim, or are you just yanking stuff out of your homophobic ass?
Comment by Unholy Moses
The better question is to ask the American Psychological Association if they had any “facts” at hand to take homosexuality off the list of mental disorders in 1971. They did not. All they did was succumb to the demands and threats of violence from radical homosexuals inside and outside their organization. Of course this kind of thing never stops either. Now there is a movement inside this “professional” organization to remove pedophilia as well and also noises that sex with animals is quite natural and normal.
People are fucked up aren’t they? Oh, and my ass IS very homophobic the rest of me is just disgusted.
Oh, and did any notice the note at the bottom of Cheney’s commands? What the hell is a “Super Volunteer
Nope, don’t know what you’re talking about.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:57 amI-R-I: The majority of states have passed laws forbidding sexual deviants from marrying and there is a big push to keep them from abusing children by adoption. – - You keep this up and your knuckles will never get a chance to scab over.
March 23rd, 2006 at 9:58 amHelen Thomas is a Pig – “Bobcat – SHUT UP. You are not a Christian”, “Leave Wal-Mart alone, asshole.”
Yep! Your such a GREAT Christian!
Now go and read your Bible, because you sure as hell are not a christian. Christians are suppose to love thy neighbor. You show no love and all you do is spew hatred, the exact opposite of what Jesus taught, and this is what the Right stand on.
This is why I quite going to church years ago! Most people who go to church use it to justify their deceitful and hatred on a daily basis, because they simply go to church on Sunday and things are OK.

March 23rd, 2006 at 10:01 amBobcat – SHUT UP. You are not a Christian. You support killing babies, I am sure.
Nope, I don’t want to kill babies. But I am for early term abortion. Is it a heart wrenching decision? Yes. But one that should be left to the mother.
God said killing is wrong. Please show me where in the Bible where God defines when the fetus becomes a baby. Oh wait, that was men in the Catholic church that decided that.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:05 amSince we can’t have the theory of intelligent design taught in our schools without substantial scientific evidence, since that seems to be a requirement by those on the left, where is the scientific proof that you are born homosexual? Can anyone here proof one shred of evidence to back that claim up?
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:08 ami was channel sufing last night and Fox is right next to the cooking channel and Fred Barnes was on basically saying how the Gay Marriage issue rallies the GOp base like Abortion does the Democrats. He is right and hopefully people realize having Gay ballot initiatives in 11 states during the last election was the reason IMHO we have what we have now in the White House. They are used as the poison pill by the GOP if things get desperate. I don’t doubt the y will suface again. My motto is I want the Government out of wallet and out of my bedroom.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:08 amHehe you support killing babies… There is a reason why the bible doesnt say anything about the fetus: because the morons who wrote it didnt care at all about the natural world, or the truth: they just wanted to invent a simple happy universe with them at the center.

IRI -
You never answered my question.
At what point did you DECIDE to be straight? Or were you just straight? Didn’t you just realize that you thought boobs were sexy?
Same thing with gay people, dude. They didn’t DECIDE to put up with the ridicule and hatred from the compassionate Christians. They just found themselves attracted to the same sex.
How does that hurt you? If you don’t want to be gay, fine. Don’t.
How come the most anger and hatred towards homosexuals come from the Christian right who profess love and compassion?
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:10 amBobcat – you support killing babies, but I’d bet the farm you are anti-death penalty. Even for vicious murderers. It is you pro-criminal types that really bother me. Thankfully, you are not in power and conservatives are on their way to a five seat majority on the Supreme Court.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:12 am“where is the scientific proof that you are born homosexual?”
Where is your proof that people are born Heterosecual???? There is none! You are either born liking men or liking women.
Just like you are born with a favor towards using either your right or left hand.
I would love to see your scientific data that shows that men and women are born being heterosexual and that this is a learned trait. I for one would never have anything to do with a man, and there is NOTHING that anyone could do to make me gay. Therefore, this is not a learned trait it is something you are born with.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:13 amSince we can’t have the theory of intelligent design taught in our schools without substantial scientific evidence, since that seems to be a requirement by those on the left, where is the scientific proof that you are born homosexual? Can anyone here proof one shred of evidence to back that claim up?
Like I asked IRI.
Iraq Vet, when did you decide to be straight? Or did you just realize that you liked boobs and vaginas more than penises?
The proof is in your life, dude. You didn’t decide to be straight. Homosexuals didn’t decide to be gay.
You are straight because you are.
They are gay because they are.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:13 amFunny that Republicans are frothing homophobes, because many Repubs in DC are closet Gays like Ken Mehlman and Karl Rove! Remember that Bush himself had Jeff Gannon/James Guckert the male escort/prostitute stay over at the White House at least 12 times according to Secret Service logs, so if Bush is bisexual then you homophobes should hate him?!
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:16 amSince we can’t have the theory of intelligent design taught in our schools without substantial scientific evidence, since that seems to be a requirement by those on the left, where is the scientific proof that you are born homosexual? Comment by Iraq Vet
Heheheh thanks for admitting this!
Reason and scientific proof are traits of the left! You are 100% correct.
As far as proof of homosexuality at birth… well I will have to look up what genetic studies have been done, but everyone knows that some people are born part male part female …and many other variations.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:16 amJay – you’re gay. Stop throwing around accusations without proof.
THat said, I could careless if Bush was “gay”. As long as you commie loving pigs aren’t in charge, I’m happy.

Bobcat – you support killing babies, but I’d bet the farm you are anti-death penalty. Even for vicious murderers.
You owe me a farm.
I’m for the death penalty. Some people don’t deserve to stay around. In other cases, I’d rather the criminal waste the rest of his life in a jail cell. It’s a case by case basis for me.
It is you pro-criminal types that really bother me.
What an idiotic statement. Pro-criminal? Yea, we want crime because that is good for…. umm… wait. No, crime’s bad.
Quit making crap up.
Thankfully, you are not in power and conservatives are on their way to a five seat majority on the Supreme Court.
Sure, nothing like society stagnating. Because all of the cultures throughout history that go regressive, repressive, and conservative are so successful.
You know, like Germany in the 1940s. That went well.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:19 ami believe in the more people dead the better…is anyone paying any attention to the environment THERE ARE TOO MANY MOTHERFUCKERS HERE

I have no idea what you’re talking about. My “identity” is my on-line persona and accurately reflects they way I think and feel about The Filthy Left in all its multicultural, multicolored America hating idiocy. Of course my behavior is somewhat colored by the way other people treat me, who’s isn’t?
But nothing really changes,my opinions remain the same. I mean there has been no great revelation that has come to me to cause me to want to be one of this site’s Left Wing Fucktards and in spite of the venom that is tossed my way as a matter of routine I don’t hate them personally and never have.
I’m just here to have a little fun with the ratbastardcommie losers that for whatever reason didn’t have the advantages I had growing up; like havinig both parents and a brain.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:20 amThe Big Bang Theory is nothing more than disguised creationism.

Let’s begin with: All Hail to the Chief!
ah one and a two…
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:21 amDon’t let any of us stop you from pushing this issue this year or in ‘08. I’d love to see gay rights as a plank on the dem’s party platform. That would certainly guarantee that no red state would go for a dem.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:22 am“As long as you commie loving pigs aren’t in charge, I’m happy.”
Letter to GOD:
Dear God,
Perhaps you should move up your second comming date! The people who are suppose to follow your good book, the Bible, simply use it to beat people over the head with and do not bother to read it or practice your teachings. Please end this suffering of these Anti-Christ followers by presenting your wrath upon the world for their false profit claims and the destruction they have done in your good name.
Sincerely,
Not a Christian, but respect and treat your people as I have read you teach.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:23 amWell Bobcat, at least you are consistent on “life” issues.
As for the Supreme Court being like Nazi Germany, if we could only get Democrats on record saying this. Then, we could get a couple more appointments.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:23 amThe proof is in your life, dude. You didn’t decide to be straight. Homosexuals didn’t decide to be gay.
You are straight because you are.
They are gay because they are.

Some people are fucking insane murderers too. Some are inveterate liars, thieves and whoremongers. There is something wrong inside their head, we don’t know why but we can see the result. Most of the people in prison have some sort of mental disorder. Why not just call it “natural” and give them a day time TV show?
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:25 amPost 40 > I think you are a closet Gay guy like Ken Mehlman and Karl Rove! As for proof of Gannon staying at White House > the Secret Service was forced to release their visitation logs and Jeff was listed as staying overnight 12 times and visiting almost another 400 times for a few hours during daytime! Interesting that you do not mind that Bush is Gay > lol.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:28 amIts not something you decide. There is no decision.
Good, we agree.
Ever hear of natural law?
Yup. That’s a term crafted by homophobic heterosexuals.
God made or designed the sexes for reproductive purposes.
Nope. We evolved to this point. Question for you: If God designed us for reproductive purposes, how come he made ONLY Adam first? Bad design if you ask me. I guess Eve was just Human Species V 2.0.
If I am to follow your logic then why isn’t polgamy legal as well?
I’m not against mongomy. I have no patience for homosexuals who aren’t faithful to their life partner. I have no patience for adulterers, period. If you commit to someone, follow through on your commitment to them.
Hell, why even have marriage at all?
Because love is human nature. Sexuality is, too.
Why don’t we all just form one huge commune and anything goes.
Hey, whatever makes you happy, Irag Vet. I’m not stopping you. As long as you don’t force me to join, you can do whatever you want.
See, you just can’t make up the rules as you want them to be.
Really? Isn’t that what you’re doing?
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:29 amThe great thing for IRI is that lefty blogs allow commnets, of course the big righty blogs dont. Confrontations with the truth can be painfull for Bush Cultists.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:30 amI grew up on a farm. Bulls (male cows, for you slickers) would often hump other bulls–even if there were female cows in the same pasture. Male dogs frequently hump other male dogs. And there’s plenty of obsevational evidence that male chimps often bang away with other male chimps in the wild as part of the routine chimp society behavior. So it appears to me homosexual behavior is pretty common throughout the animal world–and therefore it must be somewhat “natural”.
Frat boys often require sexual hazing rituals for their incoming members–and frat boys are often budding young republicans.
Jeff Gannon, that famous republican-boosting “journalist” that somehow got security clearance to the Whitehouse, is a male hooker.
Anyway, why the heck should I care who’s banging who? And why should republicans like I-R-I, who supposedly want to get the government off the backs of people? (ha-ha, pardon the pun).
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:31 amSome people are fucking insane murderers too. Some are inveterate liars, thieves and whoremongers. Many people are different “in their head”. History channel last night had a show with alot of evidence about how some people are natural born liars…. some are born without the connector between the two halfs of their brain and thats is why they can do amazing tricks with numbers and dates… science is everyday using reason to classify what makes people WHO they are… your ignorant taliban way of thinking is setting like the sun… only a near total distruction of humanity will save your rediculous religious backwards thinking ways… science is truth… enlightenment is science… I welcome the demise of organized religion!

I don’t actually (I think) hate anyone but by wretched sister in law. That said there is much to be hated about radical activist homosexuals and the damage they do to our society. I think that should be hated and to turn the argument and the animosity into something personal is dishonest.
I don’t know when I first started to like girls, I was curious early and stole my first kiss from a girl as soon as I could run fast enough to catch one, but I’m fairly sure that had I been raised in a culture that accepts homosexuality as natural and put it on TV and taught it in schools that right now I’d fuck just about anything in sight…kind of like some of the losers right here on “Think Communist.”
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:35 amJay – you’re a hell of a smear merchant, aren’t you. As for Bush being gay – if he was and he was lying about it, that might bother me. However, looking the anti-American opposition could make me get over it real fast. Liberals will never be allowed to have power again.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:35 amHey IRI,
Let’s see here….. Many creatures in nature will have sex, and even morph sexes in many cases. Just look at many frogs. They will often change sexe. Look at the Sea Horse, the male will actually carry the eggs in his belly and give birth. So does this make them gay?
This is part of NATURE! Just because you don’t understand or like something does not make it wrong.
“Some people are f**king insane murderers too. Some are inveterate liars, thieves and whoremongers.”
And most of these people are taught, learn, or placed in a situation that they are driven to do such things. Then there will allways be people who do terrible things, but to say that everyone who does these things are “natural” is just insane and are not even comparable to being gay.

So, two consenting adults who are in love just happen to be the same sex and want to get married. They’re just as bad as murderes, thieves, and whoremongers?
Okay, let’s look at this.
Murderer: Okay, they obviously hurt the victum (cause he’s dead) and the victum’s family.
Thieves: Okay, they hurt the person they steal from. And insurance companies, and inturn all of us cause our insurance rates go up.
Whoremongers: If married, they hurt their family for not respecting their spouse.
Who did the two homosexals hurt?
Really, what’s your problem with homosexuals. They aren’t asking anything from you. Heck, they aren’t asking a Church to recognize their union. If a religous group doesn’t want to recognize the union, they don’t have to. They get to make up the rules when it comes to their religion. They just want to have a secular law recognize their union.
Most of the people in prison have some sort of mental disorder. Why not just call it “natural†and give them a day time TV show?
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:37 amPost 56 > smear mechant lol I think you mean Karl Rove > he is a pro at smearing people!
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:41 amGo ask around DC > half of the Repubs in Congress visit the Gay bars there! Most of them LIE about their secret underground lifestyle like Bush himself does!
That said there is much to be hated about radical activist homosexuals and the damage they do to our society.
Examples of the damage, please.
I don’t know when I first started to like girls, I was curious early and stole my first kiss from a girl as soon as I could run fast enough to catch one,
So girls run away from you?
but I’m fairly sure that had I been raised in a culture that accepts homosexuality as natural
Maybe because it is.
and put it on TV
Change the channel if you don’t like it.
and taught it in schools
Must have missed “How To Be Gay 101″ in college.
that right now I’d fuck just about anything in sight
That’s your issue, dude. Just make sure your partner is consenting during it.
…kind of like some of the losers right here on “Think Communist.â€
Seriously, if you keep up the silly “Think Communist” thing, I’m going to have to start taking your name to the extreme and refer to you as I-NAZI-I.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:43 amMy last paragraph in 58 wasn’t mine, it was leftover from a neo-con’s post I cut and pasted while trying to respond to their ‘points.’
You see, I like to address their ‘points’ instead of just spouting talking points, sterotypes, and hatred.

Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson and George Washington might have a thing or two to say about that…
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:47 amso everyone stopped reading thinkfast at the second article this morning…stop feeding the trolls
there are some serious environmental issues that are not only being surpressed here in the US….but pullouters are being fueled by the current administration….all we can do is debate about gay marriage that (unlike the trolls stance) will not bring about our destruction…the amount of harm being caused to the environment will!!!!
don’t feed the trolls, its fun to watch them wither & die
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:47 am#3 Get used to it. You can try as hard as you wish to stack the deck but people will get what they want and extremists such as yourself will just have to get used to the differences. This is America and we all don’t think alike. Difference is our foundation and the few of you that are on the fringes can get as much air time as you like, but yours and Bush’s constant “convincing” is useless.
You can’t stop abortion no matter how many laws you come up with saying otherwise. Get the picture? You are trying for force young women to do as you wish. Again, not valient, but obtrusive and hateful towards women who you hate so much that you have convinced yourself that we have abortions as birth control. Do you think so little of women? Why do you hate them? Bad mother? Too controling?
Anyway, your problems and issues and pathologies are not mine or any other females problems. You can’t stop abortion and you can’t control women. You can’t say lies over and over and expect them to become truths. You are outnumbered and apparently very angry about it. Again, not my problem, yours.
Just like Bill Napoli, you are sick and twisted and hide under the guise of moral superiority. You are what Jesus warned us about in the Bible. You are a false profit and are using religion to further your anger and obsessions. That is generally what religion focuses on anyway – violence.
So, post away, but your anger is yours and we aren’t soaking it in, just feeling pity. So if it’s pity you want, you have come to the right place.
On another note, are you in agreement with Frist or Bush on immigration? Seeing as though the repubs are infighting, you now have to take a stance.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:51 amSo, two consenting adults who are in love just happen to be the same sex and want to get married. They’re just as bad as murderes, thieves, and whoremongers?
Comment by bobcat_grad — March 23, 2006 @ 10:37 am
Well, considering that science has begun to prove that homosexuality is a result of nature, and neither nurture or choice (anyone see that 60 Minutes episode?), that would be akin to saying that anyone born with Down’s Syndrome or Autistism is just as bad as murderes, thieves, and whoremongers.
Give them enough time, and I have little doubt that the neocons will be saying exactly that…
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:52 amMust be Bush loving troll day on TP this morning, or perhaps they are on assignment to prop up Bush since his TV speech yesterday was a complete failure!
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:58 amNeD, and all of your many names, when you post Helen Thomas is a pig, do you think of yourself as smart and clever? Are you so angry you can’t help it? What is with the smearing and in the same post accuse others of what you are doing? Do you understand that we, and any person who took Psychology in high school, are on to you? We can plainly see your issues and troubles.
Don’t you find that a little humilating? Or do you not ever feel humility? Do you feel kind of mean and juvenile when you post such silliness? Why have you latched onto the communist thing? Do you understand that we are not communists? Do you understand that when you say the same things ad nauseum that to all of the world, to people here from other nations, you sound low IQ? You are making the US appear to be stupid; like we are a bunch of monkies repeating ourselves. You are not representing your country with class and it is embarrassing to educated posters here who wish to discuss, maybe vent, about our lack of leadership.
As far as hijacking this, or any other, thread, have your fun. If it takes so little to appease you I suppose that is good for you. Ignorance is bliss. And really, thanks for all of your intelligent, thoughtful, meaningful posts that truly show your grasp on your anger. I hope you don’t have pets.
March 23rd, 2006 at 10:59 am#65 These types of folks used to feel that way not too long ago. They either have to get with the program or just deal with it. Progress cannot be stopped and good always wins over evil — eventually.
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:01 amThis thread is a microcosim of what I expect the fall of this year to be like. The republicans will tote out the devisive issues and the language of hate in order to stir up the electorate and maybe even ride that to victory. They will then shelve these issues until the next election cycle as they always do. They will ignore issues such as what is relaly happening in Iraq or the islamofascist theocracies they are creating in Afghanistan and Iraq, they will ignore the illegal wire tapping and simply label it terrorist suveilance etc… That’s their strategy for this election cylce and they will tote it out every cycle to try to win. Since i have been paying attention to politics the republicans have always toted out the devisive issues year after year and then they do not act on them because it’s really all they have to win votes.
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:02 am#66 Don’t you see, they are on Bush marching orders to “convince” the world. I say, if something is right or good, it will be obvious and no need for convincing.
What Bush is trying to talk people into is tantamount to a shady used car salesman trying to sell a lemon. It is pathetic and obvious. Just when you thought he couldn’t look for inept; he has to go on a national convincing tour. Sad, so sad. It is all crumbling. Stupid only goes so far and then it catches up with you.
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:04 am#69 I’m waiting for the evil swiftboaters to come out and call all the Iraqi vets that are running as Dems traitors or liars. I’m sure Tammy Duckworth, missing legs now because of her fighting for the trolls, will be in for some ugly smearing.
But you wouldn’t do that would you, trolls?
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:07 am#65 Sounds a bit like social Darwinism to me. Thought the Christo-fascists didn’t have any time for Darwinism – how confusing…
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:09 amJay – I’ve heard the Mehlman rumors, but the Bush/Gannon crap is a lie. And it doesn’t matter anyway. Bush is President and that’s that. You can’t beat him and your foot soldiers on the left can’t even debate him. You fools have sold out ideas for hatred.
Progressive and Proud – for the record, Helen Thomas is, in fact, a pig.
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:09 amFor those who say god created man to be straight etc… I will assume that you take the bible literally. If that is the case how did Michael Jordan, Elle McPhearson, Tom Cruise, Yassar Arrafat, Jackie Chan and others of the many and varied races come into existence when I am assumign Adam and Eve were white jews. How can you have a black baby born from two white parents? How can you have a Chinese baby when you are white? Actually how can you get all these varied races out of people who were more likely than not to look like Sadaam Hussein and Yassar Arrafat, than they are to look like Tom Cruise and George Bush? How does intelligent design make the leap from two people of presumably the same race to a world with multiple races?
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:09 amYes post 70 > Bush and his brain-dead followers are trying to force us to accept their insanity, but it is NOT working! In a way though look at those who were sitting behind Bush yesterday > every one was White and average looking > I think Bush is just trying to hold onto the remaining 34% who still support him! If he loses some of them he could drop to rock bottom 20% who are Pat Robertson disciples > lol.
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:11 amhttp://www.livescience.com/humanbiology/ap_050510_pheremones.html
that’s one of the first that comes up… if you search for pheromones and homosexuality on google you’ll get plenty of articles pertaining to how homosexual people naturally respond to pheromones that heterosexual people do not. for people like IRI i dunno if that’s nature enough for you. sometimes i question the ability all the “good christians” out there on the right have to read and comprehend things without harsh misinterpretation due to science working against the bible.
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:12 amHey right wing fringe dwelling nut jobs. How about explaining how a gay person simply existing affects you and your life? How does it affect our country? How aout explaining how gay marraige affects your ability to be married? How it affects the country? How do you reconcile equal protection under the LAW with your views that gays are not entitled to these same rights?
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:13 amYou know, I was going to post a response to I-R-I, but have realized it’s pretty much pointless.
If we post links and facts, he just ignores them.
If he posts something as fact, he does nothing to back up his claims.
While I’m a big fan of open debate, I have yet to understand how someone who contributes absolutely nothing to this board is still allowed to post here.
Typical conservative strategy, however — don’t bother addressing the facts of the issue. Instead, hurl insults and use devisive language to stir up shit.
Thank god the American people are finally waking up to that fact.
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:15 amSorry post 73 > Bush and Gannon were together in the White House > not a love affair because Bush had to pay Jeff at the rate of $200 an hour or $1,200 for an overnight stay > these rates were posted on Jeff’s escort website!
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:16 amI asked you other questions. Is all you can say, Helen Thomas is a pig? You know who is hateful. Check out your posts. Read them over a few times. Not only do you repeat yourself, you contradict yourself too.
You should really try some introspection. When you listen only to Rush, a drug addict who uses and lies to doctors, and Bill O’Reilly, who degrades women with sexual harrassment and won’t go to trial so he can “get rid of it”, you will become like them. There are many many non partisan places to go. You don’t have to fill yourself with so much anger.
You will feel much better if you just turn all that stuff off for a week and do some good works. Hell, just be by yourself for a week and try not to think about who you hate.
Again, you won’t answer my questions and you won’t debate anyone. You are here only to post venom. Now, NeD, who is hateful?
Doesn’t it sound disingenuous to call others full of hate all while posting under the name Helen Thomas is a pig? Now think about that for a minute, however long it takes. Just read your own posts and then say we are hateful. You can’t do it and be honest. And really, NeD, if you aren’t honest with yourself you are only creating trouble for yourself and distance from those around you. That is why you feel so “alone” in your thoughts. That is why you can’t understand why everyone is so screwed up. It is actually you that has the issues but cannot see it.
So answer some of my questions or spew more hate – your choice, buddy.
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:17 amChrist you bushies are ugly today. I-right-i, you have changed over the last few weeks. Whereas you used to post conservative dogma, now you stoop to smears and veiled threats. Honestly I really mean it when I ask you to seek out a mental health professional and talk to them. Hell talk to them about what whackjobs we are, I don’t care, but you need to talk to SOMEBODY before you do something very bad.
Helen Thomas – troll, nuff said.
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:19 am#80 – spare me your analysis. I don’t know what it is about me that you find so intriguing, but it’s there. I shouldn’t have engaged you, but I thought I thought I’d throw you a bone.
March 23rd, 2006 at 11:20 amYou can’t beat him and your foot soldiers on the left can’t even debate him.
It’s tough to debate him at his little pre-arranged, pre-screened audience Town Hall meetings with questions like, “Mr. President were you born awesome? Or did you have to practice at it?”
You fools have sold out ideas for hatred.
Really? Hmmm….
Quotes by you, Helen Thomas is a Pig, in this thread:

#7 Bobcat fuckwad – bring it up in the next election.

Some of us think so, yes. But the degree is not the issue it is the mental affliction. As I’ve already pointed out some “professionals” are moving to declare sex with children as natural and good. One day you’ll be trying to rationalize that by comparing it to being a murderer or a thief as well.
Hey IRI,
Let’s see here….. Many creatures in nature will have sex, and even morph sexes in many cases. Just look at many frogs. They will often change sexe. Look at the Sea Horse, the male will actually carry the eggs in his belly and give birth. So does this make them gay?
Comment by RemoveBush
I’m well aware that to the Filthy Left a man is just an animal. It’s how you rationalize to yourself the awful things you do. Be all you can be, be an animal I don’t care.

APA Under Fire for Child Sex Abuse Report
31 March, 1999
By Scott Hogenson
CNS Executive Editor
(CNS) – The American Psychological Association is trying to correct what it called misrepresentations of the organization’s positions on child sexual abuse and the findings of a report on the topic published by the organization. But the association appears to be selective in who it publicly criticizes for their use of the report.
The APA found itself at the center of a burgeoning controversy after publishing the report A Meta-Analytic Examination of Assumed Properties of Child Sexual Abuse Using College Samples, which concluded that child sexual abuse “does not cause intense harm on a pervasive basis,” among victims.
http://www.cnsnews.com/InDepth/archive/199903/IND19990331c.html
new book published by Haworth Press features multiple Ph.D. “experts” claiming that sex with children “can benefit” boys and even serve a “mentoring function.”
“Same-Sex Desire and Love in Greco-Roman Antiquity and in the Classical Tradition of the West” features “scholarly” treatises by a raft of mostly-PhD academics, all praising earlier civilizations – particularly Greece and Rome – for the role homosexuality played in those ancient cultures.
In the chapter titled “Pederasty: An Integration of Cross-Cultural, Cross-Species, and Empirical Data,” Bruce Rind Ph.D. lauds the rampant child molestation that reportedly occurred in those societies, at one point citing evolution as supporting a pro-pedophilia worldview. Writes Rind:
Pederasty, or sexual relations between men and adolescent boys, is condemned in our society as an unqualified evil that maims and destroys. In ancient Greece, samurai Japan, and numerous other cultures, pederasty was seen as the noblest of human relations, conducive if not essential to nurturing the adolescent’s successful intellectual and physical maturation.

The mainstreaming of “adult-child” or “intergenerational” sex, as it is euphemistically called by its supporters, is the next big “sexual liberation” movement on its way, says David Kupelian, WND’s managing editor and author of the “The Marketing of Evil.”
“Many people seem to think having sex with children is a good thing,” says Kupelian, noting “a reported 100,000 websites now offer illegal child pornography, and worldwide child porn generates a reported three billion dollars in revenues every year.”

Pro-Euthanasia Princeton Professor Singer’s Pro-Bestiality Article
Professor Gary Francione today called for Princeton philosophy professor Peter Singer to stand down as President of The Great Ape Project International.
Francione, who is Professor of Law at Rutgers University School of Law and author of several books on animal rights, called for Singer’s resignation in the wake of Singer’s essay on bestiality, available in the March/April edition of Nerve Magazine.
In the essay, Singer maintains that “sex with animals does not always involve cruelty” and that humans and nonhumans can have “mutually satisfying” sexual relationships.

March 23rd, 2006 at 12:36 pm#107, Agreed Moses, if Iraq was colluding with Al Qaeda, why would it be looking for Al Qaeda members who clearly did not want to be found by the Iraqis. March 23rd, 2006 at 12:46 pmWhat a lovely compilation of bad news. Back to bed, I say.
Of course this will continue forever, with our democracy supplanted by a sham one, thanks the the Help America Vote Act and electronic vote fraud.
But then there’s Clint Curtis. Clint Curtis is mounting a congressional bid in Florida against Tom Feeney. As many of you know, Curtis was the programmer hired by Feeney to write election-stealing software a few years back. Since then, much has happened, including the suspicious death of the Florida Inspector General Raymond Lemme looking into the matter and the total media clampdown of any serious discussion of electronic election manipulation in Florida and across the nation. Curtis, a former Republican, became so disgusted by what he saw that he became a whistleblower. The whole sordid tale is chronicled on http://www.bradblog.com.
Here’s Curtis in his own words:
My name is Clint Curtis. I am running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida’s 24th Congressional District. This great district is currently represented by one of the most corrupt politicians in history. Having personally attended closed-door meetings where Tom Feeney spoke candidly about his aspirations of corruption forces me to provide this district with an alternative to this man. I will need your help.
http://www.clintcurtis.com
Curtis promises to fight for fair elections and clobber corruption. He is the ONLY candidate who will take it to the NeoCons on the issue of election fraud. And he needs our help. He’s got to raise $10K in the next two weeks to get on the ballot.

March 23rd, 2006 at 12:54 pm#112, “It’s obvious that Sadam was a threat to America.”
How was it obvious? If you make a statement about the “obvious”ness of something it is a good idea to back it up. Particularly when you are in a forum where many disagree with your unsupported statement.
So. How was it obvious? Was he going to hit us with those WMDs he didn’t have?

Stop dear troll trying to endear yourself and please, ignore my posts, eventually you will have no one left if you do that, though. And you just can’t take being without us. You know I’m right.
Look troll, just admit it, you can’t leave and you can’t stop posting. We have you. Now, back to a little back and forth. You should answer me or continue to be impotent to all of us you try so hard to impress or, if you cannot do that, just try and make us mad and then call us hateful.

Though they appear to say what has been said all along in that Bin Laden Asked and Sadaam listened. Do you think Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have similar contacts? Just wondering?
March 23rd, 2006 at 1:11 pmIRI, one more question…What is your fascination with beastiality, child porn, etc.? You often post about it and in quite a lot of detail. You might want to go with your usual excuse of “it’s you, it’s not me” but again, the jig is up to most Americans — finally.
So, I wonder why Rush, Robertson, Bill Napoli (who likes to discuss, at length, the raping of christian virgins) and you are so obsessed. You do understand that the normal psychologically mature individual will not spend inordinate amounts of time thinking, nay discussing, this sort of material. Well, unless you work with those kinds of kids or are an advocate or medical provider. And really, IRI, we know you are none of those things. Sorry, hate to be so judgmental, but is it kind of apparent that you aren’t scientifically educated or helpful to those less fortunate.
I would think though, that you wouldn’t want to post so frequently about such things. Dude, try to hide those kinds of feelings. Or maybe you post here to get it out.
Ah well, glad to have you here.

March 23rd, 2006 at 1:16 pmSome of us think so, yes. But the degree is not the issue it is the mental affliction. As I’ve already pointed out some “professionals†are moving to declare sex with children as natural and good. One day you’ll be trying to rationalize that by comparing it to being a murderer or a thief as well.
Nope. Because the child is a victum. Not a consenting adult.
You just don’t get it, do you?
Two consenting ADULTS of the same sex aren’t hurting anyone by being together. It’s not their fault that you can’t stop thinking about them having sex.
March 23rd, 2006 at 1:23 pm#120 if you have ever read anything about John Wayne Gacy you would find out that he would publicly castigate gays and queers etc… He hated them while people were around. He choose his victims because they looked gay to him, some were and some were not (A friends brother was one who was not). One of the reasons he killed them was because it gave him a thrill to kill while f*&king someone, but another reason is that he killed to hide his homosexuality. The way IRI goes on about this and the venom he spews brings Gacy to mind every time.
March 23rd, 2006 at 1:41 pmReading your arguments about homosexuality…I am on the fence. I have personally seen so much unnecessary pain directly related to homosexuality, it is hared to justify is as normal. For example, the young men you have commited suicide due to a losing battle with aids. The durg abuse, specificaly alcohol directly related to those who are actively homosexual. The very confused children subjected to a homosexual homelife (we are just beginning to see thise children in counseling). The abuse and physical violence within homosexual relationships. Yes, I understand these issues occur in heterosexual relationships as well, howver, statistically, it is far greater percentage within the homosexual arena. Why do we NOT talk about this. If we want to accept homosexuality as normal, which I am not necessarily opposed, do you think we should look at the FACTS of it first??? We must remember that one individual and their choices do, greatly, affect many others. It is not all about ME!

March 23rd, 2006 at 2:44 pmplease show statistics indicating that physical violence is more prevalent amongst homosexuals than heterosexuals.
Comment by Jane E. Schneider
Not a healthy environment for adults let alone kiddies.
Despite homosexual claims that “Love Makes A Family,†homosexual domestic partners are experiencing
an epidemic of violence—both physical and emotional abuse at the hands of their “lovers.†Until recently,
this was a dirty little secret that was kept from the public. In a PBS “All Things Considered†interview with a
Boston homosexual activist in 1996, the commentator noted that the problem of homosexual domestic partner
“battering†is not new. According to homosexual activists, battering has “been kept quiet in the gay community
for political reasons. It was dirty laundry that didn’t need to be aired in public.â€
It appears that homosexuals are now going public with the truth about homosexual domestic violence because
they’re seeking local, state, and federal funds for “safe houses†and counseling programs for the victims
of domestic abuse.
It is instructive to compare the various published statistics of how many homosexuals are victims of samesex
violence each year to how many “hate crimes†are committed against homosexuals by heterosexuals. In
TVC’s special report, Hate Crime Legislation: Unequal Treatment Under the Law, we noted that the latest
FBI hate crime statistics are from 1999. They indicate that in that year only 1,317 hate crime incidents involving
homosexuals were listed. Of those, many of them were name-calling or simple assault. In 1998, there
were 16,914 murders committed. Only four were considered hate-motivated murders against homosexuals.
This is not stated to minimize the horror of murder, but to point out that overall, homosexuals are relatively
free of violence directed at them because of their sexual behavior.
Domestic Violence Is A Serious Threat To Homosexuals
Recent statistics compiled by researchers and by homosexual lobbying organizations show that it takes
more than “love†to make a family. In 1999, for example, the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs
(NCAVP) issued a report indicating that there were 3,120 documented incidents of homosexual domestic
violence in San Francisco, New York City, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, Colorado, Cleveland, and Columbus,
Ohio. Compare the 3,120 figure to the 1,317 hate crimes committed against homosexuals nationally in
1999. The conclusion is obvious: Homosexuals pose a far greater threat to other homosexuals than do
heterosexuals.
“Violence in Lesbian and Gay Relationships: Theory, Prevalence, and Correlational Factors,†was published
in 1999 by the Clinical Psychology Review. This study surveyed 19 different studies on homosexual domestic
violence, comparing those rates to heterosexual rates of violence. It found: 28% of heterosexual couples,
48% of lesbians and 38% of homosexual male couples reported physical abuse in one study. In studies using
only lesbian couples, psychological abuse was reported by 73% to 90% of lesbians. More than 30% of
lesbians had been in a relationship where at least one physical incident occurred.
In “Extent, Nature, and Consequences Of Intimate Partner Violence: Findings From The National Violence
Against Women Survey,†published by the federal National Institutes of Health in July, 2000, researchers
found “that same-sex cohabitants reported significantly more intimate partner violence than did oppose-sex
cohabitants.†Among lesbians, 39.2% reported being raped, physically assaulted, or stalked by their samesex
partner. For male homosexuals, 15.4% reported being raped, physically assaulted, and/or stalked by a
male partner. Overall, the research indicated that partner violence (both heterosexual and homosexual) is far
higher among unmarried couples than married couples.

March 23rd, 2006 at 2:50 pmBobcat says: “Homos are cool”
homosexual domestic partnerships don’t work. They are fraught with violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and
March 23rd, 2006 at 2:59 pmdespair. The Internet is now rife with “anti-violence†and “battered lesbian†web sites devoted to the rising epidemic
of homosexual violence against each other. In “Battered Husbands: Domestic Violence In Gay Relationships,â€
published in Genre magazine, Fall, 1991, homosexual researchers estimated that 500,000 homosexual
men are battered each year by their sexual partners. The differences between alleged hate crimes
committed by heterosexuals against homosexuals pales in comparison when contrasted with how
many homosexuals physically or emotionally assault their “lovers†each year.
The researchers argued that homosexual violence is greater than heterosexual violence because when there
are two men in a relationship, both can be the batterer. Citizens for Parents’ Rights (CPR), a Maryland-based
organization keeps an updated database on statistics involving homosexual-on-homosexual violence on its
web site: http://www.cprmd.org. Here are a few shocking statistics from CPR:
• Approximately one out of ten homicides in San Francisco is the result of sadomasochistic sex among homosexuals
(1981).
• A study in 1990 indicated that 9% of male heterosexuals; 24% of male homosexuals; 2% of female heterosexuals;
and 11% of female lesbians reported having been homosexually raped.
• A 1994 study of 113 lesbians indicated that 41% of them had been physically abused in a same-sex relationship.
• Male-on-male rape constitutes from 5 to 10% of all rapes.
• The San Francisco Police Department reported at least 100 calls per month on for cases of domestic homosexual
violence in 1987.
• One study found that 15% of lesbians engaged in torture for sexual fun that included “piercing, cutting or
whipping to the point of bleeding†with their lovers.
• The L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center reported in 1998 that approximately 25% to 33% of all homosexual relationships
involve abuse.
In short, homosexuals pose the greatest threat to other homosexuals, not heterosexuals, “hate crimes,†or
anti-homosexual slurs. Homosexual domestic partnerships are the greatest breeding ground for violence
against homosexuals.

Well Jane my girl I guess you could hunt a few of your own up couldn’t you? If those reports are correct and not outright lies then some of that information is available on homosexual oriented websites and from homosexual friendly organizations. Violent homosexuals are nothing new and it makes perfect sense that two guys are more likely to beat the crap out of each other than a man and a woman. Ditto two female dykes.

Or you can find out about the “Rev.” Fred Phelps here:
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/michael_haggerty/expose3.htm
Or, you can just got check up on the info coming out of Paul Cameron. Just ignore the fact he was discredited by numerous sources for his methodology in spinning his statistics. He resigned under fire from the American Psychological Association and was later formally terminated from membership following complaints about his research methods. He has had run-ins with other professional groups, including the Nebraska Psychological Association and the American Sociological Association. According to Mark Pietrzyk’s exposé in the Oct. 3, 1994, New Republic, the state of Colorado initially hired Cameron as an expert witness to defend its statute restricting gay-rights ordinances, then elected not to use his testimony after it got a closer look.

I don’t know why homos are homo. It’s a mystery to me but I do have some ideas. You know…weak fathers and strong overbearing mothers. Being molested as a child they think has something to do with normal boys turning into flamers….
Childhood Molestation Increases Likelihood of Domestic Violence
March 23rd, 2006 at 3:20 pmA report published in the April, 2001 issue of Child Abuse & Neglect indicates that homosexuals who are victims
of childhood molestation are far more likely to engage in risky sexual behaviors as well as violence
against their sexual partners than non-homosexuals. The study found that a fifth of all homosexual men
(20.6%) had experienced childhood sexual abuse. (A 1988 study published in the Journal of the National
Medical Association found that 58% of boys who had been sexually abused described themselves as homosexual
or bisexual. Ninety percent of boys who had not been molested described themselves as heterosexuals.
Clear, same-sex child molestation helps create homosexuals who then molest others.)
According to the Child Abuse & Neglect study, early sexual victimization typically involved physical force,
penetrative sex, and were highly distressing. The greater the severity of the sexual abuse, the more likely the
person was to engage in risky sexual behaviors and to become violent. Those who had been abused were
also more likely to be HIV positive (24% to 14%). The researchers discovered that child abuse victims had
higher rates of unsafe sex under the influence of alcohol or drugs, engaged in frequent “one night stands,â€
and were abusive to their sexual partners. (This study used data collected from four homosexual-friendly cities:
San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.)

If this doesn’t read well, I’m trying to monitor a test…
They aren’t gay by choice. One prevalent theory indicates that during the later stages of development, boys who are born gay have received estrogen during third trimester brain development. Why you ask? Well, you will love this – because the Y chromosome of the male fetus is a ‘foreign’ substance in the female body (where we have only Xs) – the immune system is set up to resist invasions of unknown or foreign substances in the body so that we build immunities to these things – with each male child a woman carries, the body will at some point release estrogen in an attempt to neutralize the Y chomosome… creating a gay male child.
I don’t know how it works in the case of gay female children.
March 23rd, 2006 at 3:43 pmHey bobcat, he is like the little kid that no one likes and must cause turmoil to get attention. It works for him, but remember what mom said, not all attention is good. Also, he thinks he is hijacking the thread, but I think his posts represent him well. I don’t mind folks coming over to our neck of the woods to catch a glimpse of our sideshow here.
It is kinda funny because you really can’t take the trolls seriously. And really, their half-assed childlike manner of accomplishing nothing does bode well for us in Nov. There have many discussions “around the water cooler” here in redstate and I find that I am elated by the relevance and importance of the content. See, the way the trolls talk is how a lot of these trailer park rednecks talk as well. When they can see themselves in these mean spirited trolls, they are taken aback. It works in much the same way as someone filming you really drunk and then watching it sober. Quite telling it is. People can learn introspection, even the weak minded.

If 90% of molested boys consider themselves heterosexual, then 58% can’t be considered gay. That’s absolutely retarded – just like every whacko nonsense you post. And MORON, Christianity consist of the NEW testament, not the old testament – and in the NEW Testament Jesus says that adulterers like yourself who are divorced and having sex with women are to be stoned. Anyone got a rock, MizzWrong believes in Christianity and wants you to assist him with his devotion?

March 23rd, 2006 at 3:48 pmHey MizzWrong, you know you’re going to hell – Jesus said so.
matthew 19:9 “I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery.”
Luke 16:18 “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
1 Corinthians 7
10 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband.
11 But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.
12 To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her.
13 And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him.
MizzWrong is like most of the whacko christians. They take passages that are completely out of context, irrelevant and insanely retarded and quote them like they’re divine inspiration – and they ignore the most basic, clear and direct quotes like they were never said.
These kind of ‘convenient shopping’ christians ‘fix the facts’ to meet their agend – anyone recognize who else does this?
This ‘brainwashed’ approach to religion is how the Reichwing learned it’s selective reading and propaganda techniques – from the Pat Robertson and the Texas Taliban whackos. MizzWrong is perfectly suited to belong in these throwback primitives – he’s a retard, a simpleton and a fool.
March 23rd, 2006 at 3:53 pmA valid reason that young gay boys are sexually or otherwise abused at a higher rate is that their tendancies are already being sensed by the pedophile who prays on vulnerability. I believe that is an obvious logical answer to those brutal statistics that IRI was so joyous to post. What a redneck.

Wrong, the kids are molested before they know what a homosexual is. Of course there are some little boys that are more sensitive and serious and of course the teachers are quick to label them as queer and send them to gay training schools. That’s another good reason to get homosexuals and liberal woman out of the classrooms. Liberal female teachers hate little boys anyway and what better way to “fix” them than to turn them into queers. Just a thought.

The reality is that most serial pedophiles are homosexuals, AIDS is a homosexual disease and men that do the kind of things to each other that these men do are seriously fucked up in the head. If you don’t believe me I’ll trot out the medical studies of San Francisco homosexuals that describe in detail what it is they do to each other and the diseases that come from it. There is no way a rational person can look at these people and their “lifestyle” and conclude anything other than they are mentally ill. That’s why doctors called them mentally ill from the dawn of time until the radical homos invaded the APA in 1971.

Let’s see, I have lived in Atlanta and San Francisco, working in architecture + design firms. I’m gonna go with me on this one. I’ve known enough gay men to know that they are molested because they are gay and not the other way around.
How many gay friends do you have again?

How is it that we’ve been ‘talking’ for this long and you refuse to consider for one second that you know a liberal woman who does not subscribe to this blatant generalization. I don’t do anything to try to feminize boys. Other than not punishing the girls who slug them when they deserve it, I expect them to act like teeange boys – not girls. If anything, I probably expect the girls to be more assertive than most of us have been culturally indocrinated to be here in the deep South (though, I was 6 when we moved here from New Jersey).
It’s not about changing people – but about making them aware that their actions have consequences – sometimes negatively for someone else. Surely you can’t think that eduaction and awareness are in themselves bad things.

We’ve had this discussion. I can’t keep having the same argument over and over. Do you remember what i told you? That abused children grow up to be abusive… so if gay boys are easy victims, then there would catagorically be more gay men in the cycle.
AIDS is a homosexual disease and men that do the kind of things to each other that these men do are seriously fucked up in the head. Let’s be frank. Men are sex machines. They have to be, since women are ony fertile once a month and men have to be on stand by. Heterosexual men have less sex and less ‘creative’ sex due to the fact that woman are selective (usually). But when you have two men who are equally receptive to sex, you’re going to have more instances and variety of experiences.
Look, I know it’s deviant for you. It is for me as well. I have never in my life had an inkling of curiosity of what it would be like to be with a woman. The notion grosses me out. But for women who happen to be attracted to other women, it’s what they know. To them it’s their norm. And who am I to judge what other people feel?
But even if you’re right and they are ill (which I do not agree with), then shouldn’t we be helping them instead of abusing them? I mean, would you treat a retarded child like this? By your standard, if that’s what they are akin to, then degrading them isn’t very kind.
And I bet you a cheeseburger you’ll just dismiss me without consideration yet again.

And Unbelievable, I wonder if I-RIGHT-I has ever thought about what other men do with their ‘hands’ every time he shakes them? Maybe that’s how he stays ’satisfied’, with all of those images in his head about where penises get put. After all, I don’t know many straight men that even think about such things – and here MizzWrong can’t seem to stop thinking about men’s penises and where they get put.

“That’s another good reason to get homosexuals and liberal woman out of the classrooms. Liberal female teachers hate little boys anyway and what better way to “fix†them than to turn them into queers. Just a thought. Comment by I-RIGHT-I”
Your hatred for women is consistent with a closeted homosexual – because you BLAME women for your condition. You’re sick, and need help.
“The reality is that most serial pedophiles are homosexuals, MizzWrong”
Who told you that? Most pedophiles prey on little girls – you’ve been spending too much time on those hate sites again. Your ‘anecdotal’ proof is just heresay and lies.
“AIDS is a homosexual disease and men that do the kind of things to each other that these men do are seriously fucked up in the head. MizzWrong”
Most AIDS cases worldwide are heterosexual. This kind of ‘thinking’ – if you can call it that – is 1980s idiotic moronic lies. You’re an absolute FOOL if you believe this.
“If you don’t believe me I’ll trot out the medical studies of San Francisco homosexuals that describe in detail what it is they do to each other and the diseases that come from it. MizzWrong”
Did you find the ‘details’ fascinating? For someone who claims to be straight, you spend more time talking about, and reading about gay sex than anyone I know. You’re one of the biggest closet cases I have ever seen! What a sad little worm you are.
“There is no way a rational person can look at these people and their “lifestyle†and conclude anything other than they are mentally ill. MizzWrong”
What about all of the ‘lesbians’ that are less likely to get aids or VD then heterosexuals? I’m guessing that your anger is towards ‘gay men’, since that’s what you’re repressing – you ‘love’ for gay men? As for your ‘conclusions’, well look at the source – retarded people come to retarded conclusions. Considering that many heterosexuals engage in the SAME – yes SAME practices as homosexuals. So are you saying that heterosexuals who have oral sex are mentally ill?
“That’s why doctors called them mentally ill from the dawn of time until the radical homos invaded the APA in 1971. MizzWrong”
Actually it was because no scientific studies had been done – once the studies were done different conclusions were reached. Since then we’ve learned that those who harbor homophobia are almost guaranteed to be closeted and unhealthy homosexuals – much like yourself. In fact there’s almost an 80% correlation between homosexuality and homophobia – so odds are that the person you REALLY hate is yourself MizzWrong.
But anyone with half a wit already knew that was your problem. But in true RETARDED fashion – you’re always the last to know.
March 23rd, 2006 at 5:54 pm#176 – “you do have to wonder why AIDS spread so quickly to the gay community”
Well, then that means that gay women are God’s chosen people. They are much less at risk of contracting AIDS than anyone else, so you have to wonder why God isn’t afflicting them with it at the same rate as anyone else.
Also, if you check with the CDC, the group with the highest rate of infection are heterosexual women, followed by IV drug users, followed by bisexual men, then homosexual men, then heterosexual men, then heterosexual women, THEN homoseual women.
I wonder what that sayd about “God’s plague” argumetn?
Also, in every other country in the world AIDS afllicts heterosexuals at a MUCH higher rate than anyone else. Even in countries with a prominent homosexual community. Go figure. . . .

Methinks the homophobes doth protest too much. Obsessive behavior can be an indicator of mental illness. I cannot stand Sean Hannity, so I do not watch his show, or listen to him on the radio. I do not carry on about it, nor do I call or write Fox News to complain about him. I do not holler at those who do like him, telling them that they are stupid or evil, etc. for liking him. To each their own. But those suffering from homophobia are seemingly unable to just ignore homosexuals, and instead, form an unhealthy fixation on the subject, and at times have become homicidal due to this obsession of theirs. These are the people who need professional help, I think.

I have a love of the ‘arts’ and ‘business’ which takes me into the extremes of social posturing and expressions. I can tell you from my personal experience that MizzWrong is off kilter, repressed and hiding it from the world. My guess is that he’s a pedophile – they hate gay people almost as much as closeted gay men do. I think they need to feel they are ‘better’ than someone – or some such twisted nonsense.
Anyway, he’s a certifiable looney, and highly repressed sexually. It’s probably why his marriage failed – that’s very common among the repressed. But at least he isn’t like mighty moron who ‘fabricated’ a family to deflect from his rejection and loneliness. They’re both very messed up cases though – and it’s easy to see why they would be drawn to nazism with it’s emphasis and power, control and security. The things they don’t feel they have enough of.
It’s classic psychosis.

Poor closet cases like MizzWrong end up like this old guy. The old freak was arrested for pleasuring himself in a public library in a flowered dress. He looks very much as I imagine the old loser MizzWrong probably looks.
So you’re saying MizzWrong lives in the ‘gay’ section of Houston? That explains a lot. One would wonder why someone who’s so homophobic would live in a gay area, and constantly talk about killing gay men. There are several serial killers who have been caught in the last 50 years who so hate gay men because of the ‘temptation’ they represent that they turn to serial killing.
I just did a google search, and there has been a serial killer lose in the Montrose area of Houston – I wouldn’t be surprised if our resident creepy idiot was the culprit. It would fit his psychotic nature, and explain a lot about his fascination with violence, death threats and lynching.

All smart people have issues. It’s a byproduct of being smart – damn brain doesn’t turn off. With you men, there’s a need to act out against those who you think are ‘bad’. I simply believe this hate he has for unlike things is a result of a religion and a society that tells people to ’smite those who aren’t like you’. I don’t think it makes him gay. Remember, in his circles, not bashing those who ‘God hates’ is considered a lack of conviction. And that leads to H-E-L-L…
It’s why they hang out with us, Ryan. They think it’s to convert us, but really, it’s because they like that we are the accepting side. Don’t take him so seriously. I don’t.

March 24th, 2006 at 12:43 pmRyan, just to clarify, I was simply mirroring the kindergarten playground talk that I saw presented here. I do not necessarily think being gay makes one a “weaker” person. I was just trying to lighten things up a little to attempt to bring some sort of balance to the conversation. For you to compare to one of the “trolls” just shows that you too may not be here for actual discussion, but perhaps only to find things to take offense to so you can project a self-righteous attitude.
It is interesting to me how only one or two rightwing posters can disrupt the whole discussion and turn the vibe into a negative one. It makes you almost as bad when you give into that kind of energy. They are only trying to get a rise out of you all and don’t care about anything regarding the truth or honest discussion of you opinion on any matter. They have succeeded in getting and keeping your attention and diverting you from any type of “progress”. Can you guys just try to (re)elevate the conversation a little and not get so personally defensive on some intentionally divisive topics?
However, I sincerely apologize for the confusion and (unintended) offense you may have taken with my comment.

WHY HOMOSEXUALS THINK WE HATE THEM
By
Dale O’Leary
We find ourselves in a situation where homosexual activists are asking the members of religious groups to change their 4,000-year-old beliefs about sexual morality and when the believers answer that they are not authorized to make such changes in God-revealed teachings, the homosexual activists accuse them of “hate.”
It doesn’t matter how gently the words are spoken or how carefully the message is phrased, the homosexual activists only hear “hate.”
Christians and Jews need to understand why. First, homosexuality is, in the vast majority of cases, the result of a development disorder, specifically the failure to identify strongly with one’s own sex during childhood. Such identification normally takes place at about 18 months of age. Some homosexuals as children wanted to be other sex or pretended to be the other sex, while others simply felt “different” from their same-sex parent and peers.
In a substantial number of cases, the child’s relationship with the father was either seriously deficient or pathological. Not having a positive, healthy relationship with one’s father effects the way a person deals with authority, rules, and rejection. Every time the unhealed adult homosexual feels rejection, faces discipline, or is confronted with rules he remembers the pain of his relationship with his father. He transfers his feelings toward his father to those who oppose him and screams in pain “You hate me, you hate me.”
The only real solution in these cases is for homosexual attracted persons to forgive their fathers and to be reconciled with their father God. Until that happens we cannot take their anger personally. We must speak clearly about the need for healing and repentance — but remember that the sexual sin is the fruit of a developmental disorder and in many cases the first sin that must be repented of is the sin of resentment.

March 24th, 2006 at 3:12 pmOoops not one word about gay genes but plenty about emotional abuse and neglect. Conclusion: their problem is all in their head. Not the kind of man you’d trust with a gun, raising a child or as scout master.
In 1962 members Society of Medical Psychoanalysts lead by Irving Bieber published the results of a comprehensive study of 106 male homosexuals and 100 heterosexuals controls, both groups drawn from the patients in psychoanalysis clinics. This was not a one shot questionnaire, but one of the most in depth and authoritative studies of its kind ever done. The study involved over seventy therapists, 10 years of work, multiple evaluations and follows-ups.
Bieber, et al., found a pattern of detached and/or hostile-detached fathers. They concluded that: “Profound interpersonal disturbance is unremitting in the homosexual father-son relationship. Not one of the fathers (of homosexual sons)… could be regarded as reasonably ‘normal’ parents’.”(Bieber 1962, p.114)
For example, in one case a patient reported that he always felt uneasy with his father who was like a boarder in the house. The father not only did not touch his son, but did not permit the son to touch his possessions. The son was not even permitted to wear his father’s discarded ties. The patient had a vivid memory how at age three and a half he was given a new tricycle, but was not tall enough to reach the pedals:
I got on to ride it, but I started to roll down the hill. My father was standing there–tall, still, dressed very correctly. He watched but did nothing to try to stop me. I was terrified. I went racing down the hill and fell off. My father just continued to stand there.” (Bieber 1962, p.94)
Bieber found that the fathers of the homosexual patients were not just lazy or too-busy; these detached fathers exhibited severe male-rivalry problems which they took out on their sons. Not one of these detached fathers favored the patient over his brothers or sisters. Some of the relationships were totally barren, but in a larger number of cases the fathers actively rejected, minimized or otherwise crushed their sons’ masculinity. These boys not only feared their fathers, they hated them for abandoning them to their mothers smothering influences.

Makes you wonder what is going to happen to the children of little boys who were brought up as neuters by left wing feminist parents.

March 24th, 2006 at 5:11 pmNEW YORK – As debate over the issue flares in several states, a major adoption institute says in a new report that it strongly supports the rights of gays and lesbians to adopt, and urges that remaining obstacles be removed.
“Laws and policies that preclude adoption by gay or lesbian parents disadvantage the tens of thousands of children mired in the foster care system who need permanent, loving homes,” the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute says in the report to be issued Friday.
It advises agencies and officials to make firm statements in support of such adoptions, forsaking a “don’t ask, don’t tell” approach which prompts some gays to feel their chances of adopting hinge on being discreet about their sexual orientation.
Adoption agencies should energetically recruit gays and lesbians, including them in outreach programs and parenting panels, the institute said.
The report arrives on the heels of a nationwide poll by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press that found public approval of gay adoption is increasing. In 1999, 57 percent of Americans opposed the practice and 38 percent approved, while the new poll found 48 percent opposed and 46 percent in favor with a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
The divided sentiment has been reflected recently in Massachusetts, where Catholic Charities is ending its century-old adoption program rather than comply with a state law barring discrimination against gays.
Florida is the only state with an outright ban on gay adoption. Mississippi bans gay couples, but not single gays, from adopting; Utah requires adopting parents to be married.
Some Florida legislators have been working — unsuccessfully thus far — to modify the state’s ban and allow gay foster parents to adopt children already in their care.
Measures have surfaced in a few other states that gay-rights advocates fear would restrict gay adoption or undermine gay families.
_In Arizona, the Senate is considering a House-passed bill that would give married couples priority over single people in adopting children who are in state custody. Family Pride, a national group representing gay and lesbian families, says the bill is discriminatory because gays cannot legally marry in any state but Massachusetts.
_In Utah, Gov. Jon Huntsman this week vetoed a bill — vigorously opposed by gay-rights groups — that would have allowed biological parents to terminate their child’s relationship with third parties, such as same-sex partners. The bill stemmed from a custody dispute between two lesbians; the biological mother sought to prohibit her ex-partner from visiting her daughter.
_In Ohio, conservative lawmakers introduced a bill to ban placement of an adoptive child in a household where anyone is gay. House Speaker Jon Husted does not intend to let the bill advance to a vote, spokeswoman Tasha Hamilton said.
The bill’s chief sponsor, Rep. Ron Hood, contends that children raised by gay parents face increased risk of physical and emotional problems. His concerns are shared by many conservative groups which argue that same-sex partnerships are less stable than heterosexual marriages.
The Donaldson study, written by Illinois State University adoption expert Jeanne Howard, acknowledges that research on gay parenting remains relatively scant.
“Still, virtually every valid study reaches the same conclusion: The children of gays and lesbians adjust positively and their families function well,” the report says.
The report was funded by the Gill Foundation and the Human Rights Campaign, both active in gay-rights causes. The Donaldson Institute’s executive director, Adam Pertman, said the financial sponsorship did not influence the report’s findings.
It concluded by suggesting that gay parents could play a major role in reducing the backlog of more than 110,000 children in foster care awaiting adoption.

On second thought, the fact that you see the condition as having a scientific explanation (albeit the incorrect branch in my opinion), rather than the result of evil or demons or choice, is actually surprising. Especially in light of the fact that most religious people say that homosexuality is an educated choice made by evil and demonic people.
To most of us here, you’re still off-the mark. But, in comparision to most of your brethren on the right side of the playpen, looking to science for the explanation rather than a red dude with horns is actually bold.
I suppose the problem in going all the way and seeing it as a scientific condition of nature rather than nuture is too big of a leap. I gave a test on the Universe on Thursday. To the question of ‘How did the solar system form?’ a few people wrote ‘God’. They just couldn’t accept any other explanation than that because that would be questioning something they’ve believed their entire lives (and they are only teenagers). I still marked it wrong.
So, keep your cheeseburger. I won’t eat a ‘real’ one anyway. Just thought it was more interesting to play off your joke than use the standard ‘5 bucks’ wager.

Oh, I think men who have those kind of thoughts do have something of a demon…but that could be said of so many people (and is) who have so many destructive things that they do to themselves or others.
I don’t for a second think the homosexual one day decided that he was going to do the dirty with another guy but at the same time he did decide didn’t he? Just because you’re attracted to men, boys, little girls, dogs or furry woodland creatures doesn’t mean you have to act on that compulsion. In that regard homosexuals choose. If they don’t like women they should choose to be celibate. Hell, in my own personal experience I can say without qualification that even if you do like women…a lot…it’s better to leave them alone. They just get you in trouble. Don’t they?

It’s a natural inclination. Survival of the species depends upon us having sex. Just because their brain is telling them that they are attracted to the same sex doesn’t change the fact that the drive to mate is just as instinctually overwhelming as it is in all of us.
I have gay friends. They love just as much as you or I do. It’s no different. And if they are in happy monogamous relationships, why would that be anyone’s business but their own?
Just because you’re attracted to men, boys, little girls, dogs or furry woodland creatures doesn’t mean you have to act on that compulsion.
Personally, I am only attracted to men. Though its a little curious that you listed bestiality yet again…
I am compelled by my nature to want to be around certain men (I don’t believe in soul mates or one right person for each of us). It’s not something I want to control. And why would I? It’s part of who I am and how I or any of us exist. Sex is not a bad thing, unless someone gets hurt intentionally. And in the case of two consenting adults, I really don’t understand the problem.
In that regard homosexuals choose. If they don’t like women they should choose to be celibate.
Why?

Why are you asking in me? I’ve never gotten you in trouble. You’ve done that all on your own without my help. But, I would have to say that it depends on the woman. And your relationship with her. You just need to find one with a strong internal compass who likes you inspite of yourself. And when you are really ready, you will. You’re just not ready.

Here’s something interesting. Science creating havoc among the GOPhers:
Forget the polls that show that a majority of respondents are either outright believers in, or are at least leaning in favor of, creationism as opposed to Darwinism. It doesn’t matter: Except for the fringe, who will vote conservative come what may, few of these people feel strongly enough on the issue for it to affect their voting.
But that’s not true for traditional business Republicans, who tend, on average, to support the teaching of evolution, and who, in any event, strenuously oppose anti-evolution political action that generates bad publicity and damages the business environment in a state. Look what happened in both Dover, Pennsylvania and Kansas (the first time the State Board of Education acted); the voters, with considerable business Republican help, threw the bums out.

I’m not so sure… after all, what goes up, must come down. You should know that as an engineer… though I had you pegged as an MBA.
Evolution does not exist to refute God. In fact, I accepted evolution and believed in God for most of my life. The two can exist simultaneously. Not your version of God, but most religions who are willing to accept that if there is a god, or gods – then it is something that set the universe in motion and is not a seperate, detached being, but the life force that connects all life.
Another lesson on science – theory does not mean conjecture. It means a very educated expression of observed and tested data (a.k.a. facts). No one knows what really happened, but we have a lot of evidence for the reality that evolution is a part of our past, present, and if we don’t blow up the planet – our future.

That’s a new one on me but I flat out guarantee you that they do not contradict each other. There is NO contradiction in all of accepted scripture. I do not count the apocrypha that the Catholics have unwisely included in their book.

I’m not Baptist but if I had to choose between Baptist and Methodist or Catholic I’d choose Baptist. I attended a couple of Southern Baptist churches but they had a problem with some of the sins I wasn’t ready to give up and some that I wasn’t convinced were sins. Now I attend a rather strict but patient pre-millennialism fundamental Bible church where a couple of us get together over a beer and discuss in detail why so many Americans can’t get over the fact that you can be a Christian and imperfect as well.

March 26th, 2006 at 8:52 pmThey disagree about the order in which things were created:
Genesis 1
1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
11And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13And the evening and the morning were the third day.
14And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
20And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
25And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Genesis 2
1Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
4These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
5And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
8And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
9And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
10And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
11The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
14And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
15And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
18And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
19And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Here is the order in Genesis 1:
Day 1: Sky, Earth, light
Day 2: Water, both in ocean basins and above the sky(!)
Day 3: Plants
Day 4: Sun, Moon, stars (as calendrical and navigational aids)
Day 5: Sea monsters (whales), fish, birds, land animals, creepy-crawlies (reptiles, insects, etc.)
Day 6: Humans (apparently both sexes at the same time)
Day 7: Nothing (the Gods took the first day off anyone ever did)
The order in Genesis 2:
Earth and heavens (misty)
Adam, the first man (on a desolate Earth)
Plants
Animals
Eve, the first woman (from Adam’s rib)
.
March 26th, 2006 at 9:13 pmThere are many more. But right off the bat, they get the order different in the first two chapters. I’m not trying to be derisive, I think you should know that by now. I just don’t understand how you decide. Because I never knew. I just kept my mouth shut and went along.

The answer to your question is two fold in this instance. First and most importantly there is no attempt to re-order the events of Genesis One. Genesis One deals with the big picture of creation and gives the order of creation in a time line. Genesis Two deals specifically with Man’s creation and in doing so recaps the major events of Genesis 1 but not necessarily in chronological order. The events are mentioned in relation to the story being told about the creation of Adam in a way that makes sense and compliments the story being told and the story that was told in Genesis 1.
Secondly the conflict between the order of creation of Adam and the animals in Gen. 2:19 is a translational problem of the verb tenses that occurs in the Greek and English when translated from Hebrew. In Hebrew the verb tenses are determined by the context and in Genesis 1 it is clear that the animals were created before Adam. Several new editions have translated the verb used to “had formed” correctly restating what was said in Genesis 1.
On the other hand and if you still refuse to admit that the translation issue fixes the problem and are not satisfied let me just say that Genesis does not flatly state that there was NO special group of animals created after Adam then brought to him to be named. In fact I kind of like that idea myself. It’s my opinion that after creating Eve God in His infinite wisdom and foreknowledge new that for some of us men a woman was not going to fit the entire bill and would not be the perfect help-meet and “best friend” for him. Knowing that he created the dog. I know it doesn’t say that but it works for me.
I would never have looked at this and even for a moment thought that this could be some kind of contradiction but obviously some who need a contradiction will go to extremes to find one. This then in my opinion is a very petty complaint but is typical of those you will find touted by the fundy-atheist obscurants that write for and who lurk in the dark corners of places like infidel.org.

When I googled it, I got the lists. No I didn’t type those, but I could have because I came to the realization first myself. Not the other way around as you have suggested. I’m smarter than you frequently give me credit for you know.
No one sold me anything. In fact, I realized the other day, when I read that Scientists now believe the Universe will not end in a Big Crunch, and recycle, but will just run out of fuel (hydrogen actually) and die. That changed something about what I believed. And that lead me to realize that my Atheism was in response to the cultural definition of god I’d been raised with and not ALL possible definitions. And it made me wonder about how does anyone know anything.
I just wanted to hear what you had to say, yourself. But, as usual, you think I have ulterior motives. I might have issues, but I don’t have ulterior motives. It’s not my style. I figured you’d know that by now. And, just in case, I even spelled it out – that if you didn’t want to talk about it I’d understand.
Sometimes, you act more like a woman than I do :P
March 27th, 2006 at 3:30 pmWhat do yo mean “never mind I answered your question didn’t I?
YOU didn’t… the guy you Googled did. I can’t have a conversation with him about what he wrote.

Well your objection was so obscure I’d never heard of it before. Of course I looked it up but I took the time and I answered you. Had I known you were just giving me busy work I’d have told you to google it yourself. Ungrateful wretch.

Did you read my entire response? Go re-read it then. I WASN’T giving you busy work. I DON’T do that. Clear?
Okay, fine. I do appreciate you spending two minutes to Google an answer instead of dismissing me as usual. Though, it felt like you were being dismissive of my question and assuming the worst in me when you pasted someone else’s words and told me to go Google it.
But hey, I said something instead of just calling you an asshole and disappearing. I call that progress… on both our sides :)
March 27th, 2006 at 4:33 pmYou know, IRI, if you and I, the poster children of dysfunction, can find common ground, how the hell do people with most things in common fight?
March 27th, 2006 at 4:39 pmOkay, so it occured to me that you wanted a response to the stuff you posted?
It made sense that it could be a problem of translation. But the next thought that evolves is taht unless you speak Hebrew, then how do you know what the Bible really says? And considering the cultures who wrote it, it sounds much more literary than factual. Because it does still conflict with science. I’m willing to consider it as a literary interpretation that would fit with the possibility of a god. But not a literal interpretation because of the scientific conflicts (can’t have plants without the sun first, there is no ‘evening light’ that isn’t generated by stars, the firmament is not made of water but vapor, etc.)
And I thought the part about the dog was very funny. You always make me laugh (well, almost always), I didn’t think I had to tell you more than once in a forum, but if necessary, I will.
Also – I did value your opinion enough to ask you rather than some random strangers online. Doesn’t that count for something?
All better?

If you like.

God whispers in your ear and says things like…..hey dummy…I know you didn’t get that last bit because the word as you understand it doesn’t make sense in context; so why haven’t you pulled our your Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, looked up the word in the original language and figured out the solution?
And considering the cultures who wrote it, it sounds much more literary than factual.
I don’t know what this means, “considering the cultures that wrote it”? The Bible is a beautiful piece of writing. Why shouldn’t it be beautiful, it was composed in the mind of the Author of the Universe.
Because it does still conflict with science.
It conflicts with scientific theory not scientific fact. Some understanding of the Bible conflicts with scientific fact but that’s their problem not mine. I have no problem with a billion year old earth or the fossil record and neither does my understanding of the Bible. Your mileage may vary.

Since you’ve already proven that you can do the Google there’s no need for me to comment. If you have a question and want the Christian’s answer to all those objections I guarantee you can find it.
And I thought the part about the dog was very funny. You always make me laugh (well, almost always), I didn’t think I had to tell you more than once in a forum, but if necessary, I will.
I was serious about dogs.
Also – I did value your opinion enough to ask you rather than some random strangers online. Doesn’t that count for something?

It just proves that all your taste isn’t in your mouth.

You mean you wrote that and didn’t cut and paste it? I apologize – for real. I thought you copied it. It didn’t read like you normally write. Wow. No wonder you got irked. Oops…
God whispers in your ear and says things like…..hey dummy…I know you didn’t get that last bit because the word as you understand it doesn’t make sense in context; so why haven’t you pulled our your Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, looked up the word in the original language and figured out the solution?
A lot of them don’t makes sense in context. I studied French in high school and college. Very little of it translates well and that’s a much closer language in derivation than Hebrew. So why bother to translate it so so poorly?
I don’t know what this means, “considering the cultures that wrote it The Bible is a beautiful piece of writing. Why shouldn’t it be beautiful, it was composed in the mind of the Author of the Universe.
They were nomads (see I know more about history than your last dozen ‘girlfriends’ combined). They would meet up at the local watering hole and tell each other stories. Everything was passed down through generations by work of mouth – folklore. I just had the kids do a constellation project where they had to research both the science and the folklore. And even I will admit that the folklore is so much more interesting than the science of the constellations. And in turn, the hirtory of the universe is so much more interesting through a literary expression than through facts and theories alone.
While I still think Christianity has become a modern cult, frought with misogynistic undertones and violence – I’m not so ignorant as to chuck the wisdom of ancient cultures either. Just am trying to find a blend between science and spirituality that doesn’t make me a subservient puppet. I like thinking for myself. I just haven’t been doing it very long yet.
It conflicts with scientific theory not scientific fact. Some understanding of the Bible conflicts with scientific fact but that’s their problem not mine. I have no problem with a billion year old earth or the fossil record and neither does my understanding of the Bible. Your mileage may vary.
You don’t? Then you don’t take a literal translation of the Bible?
The solar system is about 5 billion years old, so the Earth as a planet, about 3 billion. The universe is about 13.7.
Have you ever been to the Grand Canyon? (It’s a serious question).
Since you’ve already proven that you can do the Google there’s no need for me to comment. If you have a question and want the Christian’s answer to all those objections I guarantee you can find it.
That’s not what I am looking for. I like interaction. Can’t do that with a web page.
So are you saying you don’t want to keep talking about it? (Just a clarification).
I was serious about dogs.
Scary women you’ve been hanging around then…
It just proves that all your taste isn’t in your mouth.

Sure, just read the posts of comments made to me for being nice to you. There was one in this forum, and a few near the front. It’s just general backlash. No one specific. Trying to socially pressure me to hate/ignore/fear/whatever you. I don’t work that way. In fact… oh, nevermind, that’s not good to tell you.
So you’re not going to answer my questions? Or is ignoring them the same as answering them?

Just like grade school girls.

I know, you do the opposite of what you’re told unless you suspect reverse-reverse psychology, then you get totally confused and do nothing.
So you’re not going to answer my questions? Or is ignoring them the same as answering them?
It’s too complicated. Let’s just say I trust the Bible and what doesn’t make sense today will make sense tomorrow.

So that’s why you hang out here… You must’ve loved it when Spudge agreed with you today.

Funny… but nope.

Whatever. Just like a man to take the easy way out… Leave it to women to do all the complicated stuff. As usual.
I’m thinking that in the next evolutaionary round of men (since all life actually started out female and man evolved from female chromosomes), there will be less testosterone and more blood vessels redirected to the brain…
