With out the repug lap dogs to provide cover where they hold the hearings with out any truth sought then the whole range of policy which condi was part of from the lack of appropriate responses to the aug 6th memo, run up the Iraq war, and complete fiasco of Iraq and Afghanistan would be rehashed which could only produce negative headlines for bush and push his numbers into "Cheney" territory.
