You guys are honestly the greatest bunch of idea-filled garbage I've ever had the displeasure of seeing. After reading through a few of Iraq Vet's posts, I can completely sympathize with his views. Everyone screams bloody murder and how carbon dioxide emissions from the 1900s are causing the temperatures to rise along with the C02 levels. I'm wondering that if this theory is true, how come global temperatures DECREASED from 1940-1970, while C02 levels INCREASED in that same period. And don't gimme any of that "anomaly" bullshit, because 30 years is anything BUT an anomaly. If you all don't agree I can give you the accurate references from NASA.

although Bush made a comment about Global warming, it's his opinion and that's all it is. There is scientifical evidence proving him wrong but don't "crack" on our nations leader just because he's said something stupid. We are all entitle to our opinions and if you have a problem with Bush, maybe you should leave the country and live in a place where you are excuted for having bad thoughts about a governmental icon. Yes the first ammendment gives us the right to say and write what we want but it makes the people of the United States look ignorant and rude when you "crack" on the president. The fact of the matter is Global Warming is going to kill the people of the world one day and although you will be dead when it happens you should care about it enough to at least do something

Whenever you tree-hugging hippies get a chance
could you *please* post links to least 10 (ten) polls
- of only climatologists - where a vast majority
state gw is not only man-made, but actually a
problem.

Can't do it? But, everyone in the world is sure
there is consensus among an overwhelming
majority climatologists gw is man made!

Polls of average joe's - like everyone posting here,
incl myself - carry the weight of diddly in terms of
scientific reality.

The only thing 'man-made' about global warming,
is the fearmongering.

Glad someone posted that bit about the ninth century temperature maximums. Remember what happened next - it is called the Little Ice Age.

What most global warming alarmists are missing is that there is evidence--most based on ice core samples over geologic time scales--for global temperature changes as extreme or greater than the current worst-case warming forecast models for 2100 (e.g. many degrees over a couple of decades compared to a few degres over a century).

Climate Change is natural. The earth is tilted, it spins, it wobbles, that is why we have seasons, and "global warming" or climate change. Sheesh. We've had thermometers hardley even 100 years, I dont think we can compare our last ten years since 1990 to 4.5 billion which is how long the earth has been here. I think alot of people need to get their own heads out of the sand before they tell others to.

[...] As President Bush recently admitted, global warming is here. We are already feeling the effects of climate change on our budget as well as foreign and domestic policies. The U.S. government spent almost a billion dollars on tsunami relief including the efforts of 16,000 military personnel. Millions of refugees were created by the disaster. Total federal spending on Hurricane Katrina is estimated at over $100 billion. Imagine the cost in human and financial currency if entire American cities had to be permanently evacuated due to rising sea levels, or if Katrina-like storms became the norm rather than the exception. With a projected budget deficit of $350 billion for each of the next two years and the national debt nearing $9 trillion, these are costs that we can ill afford. [...]

The Pollution Gap
By Andy McSmith

Over 70 million Africans and an even greater number of farmers in the Indian sub-continent will suffer catastrophic floods, disease and famine if the rich countries of the world fail to change their habits and radically cut their carbon emissions

Fiddling As The Earth Burns
By Captain Paul Watson

This week the United Nations issued a 92 page Biodiversity Outlook Report. Like every other U.N. previously released report, this warning will be predictably filed and ignored. The report states that humans are responsible for the worst spate of extinctions since the dinosaurs and urges nations to make unprecedented extra efforts to reach a goal of slowing losses by 2010

We may be destined, sooner rather than later, to follow into extinction the thousands of failed species that have preceded us.
If you order a package from Omaha Steaks, you can observe the greenhouse effect. Just take the cooler full of dry ice outdoors at twilight. Shine a flash light into the cooler asnd you will notice a reflective effect. Next hit the dry ice with a propane torch - better do this on a concrete or stone surface. You will see lots of gas but nary a reflection. This is the premise of the greenhouse effect. Excited carbon dioxide will let energy in, but unexcited carbon dioxide (as in the middle atmosphere) will contain it. Net result is that Crawford will be beachfront property in about 90 years.
