Here’s a man who is 55 or older, been married not once, not twice, not three times but 4 FOUR times, has NO CHILDREN and is an admitted drug addict yet he tells his audience that he represents the Moral Conservative Majority of Americans.
Last time I checked, Christians were fighting for preserving the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman (oh but that only applys to gays, not from people who are thrice divorced and sue for assets from their spouses, my bad), and were not big fans of heroin addicts.

April 3rd, 2006 at 5:55 pmMy house is relatively close to Duke so I have received the bombardment/hysteria that has accompanied this woman’s alleged rape (particulary from the black community that are accusing Duke in general of being racist).
The local paper, the News and Observer, has gone to *great* pains to minimize what this woman’s sideline job is (she is a student at NCSU so she’s having to work to continue apparently) going so far as to (yesterday) call her a ‘dancer’ with no surrounding context. A few days ago it was an ‘exotic dancer’. The first day it was a ‘escort service’ exotic dancer.
The lacrosse team is being demonized – 46 of their photos were put in a kind of ‘mug shot’ from crimestoppers that ran with one of the stories. (implying they did it or are hiding it).
The local DA somehow managed to get 46 DNA search warrants (which is extreme imho) on the basis of DNA evidence they have. Now he is saying that 1. the DNA is irrelevent if it comes back as no match (presumably not if it’s a match) and that he’ll continue is witch hunt and 2. that he won’t release the results of the tests – which the defense attorneys have asked to be done.
It is a very fishy allegation. They argued over the fee (team thought 100 woman demanded 400), someone called 911 who was apparently on the street saying they heard an epithet at the house number (when you can’t see the house number from the street), the 4 finger nails and the 400 dollars were found in the house 3 days later when they finally got a search warrant. The woman claims that 1. they stole the money and 2. she scratched them with the nails.
I find it odd they didn’t get the money in those 3 days. If she scratched, there’s DNA evidence.
Duke students are all but calling the lacrosse team guilty. It is not a pleasant topic around here.
I believe in innocence until proven otherwise and the coverage is sickening.
Note: THEY HAVE HAD RUN INS WITH THE LAW. At the end: public urination and drinking violations. Yah, fair and balanced.
The house, by the way, is one that Duke recently purchased to make a ‘buffer’ to stop citizen complaints. Duke is going to be financially liable in a lawsuit. People here don’t know that for some reason (Duke is liable because of the lacrosse coach and his apparent knowledge of prior behavior as well as their property rights).
I’m not saying the woman’s story is a fabrication. It’s probably true. It’s probably not true that 46 lacrosse players are hiding anything or that a lacrosse player necessarily raped her.
Also – no one on the team ran after giving DNA samples. Condoms were not alleged to have been used per the rape screen but now the Duke students are saying ‘they could have used condoms’.
She’s not a ‘ho’ but she could find other employment that is not dangerous and degrading.

I have no idea what happened and the fact that a woman makes a living dancing with her clothes off does not make her a whore or that she consents to sexual contact. On the other hand someone who makes allegations that she was raped because of a dispute over a fee which are subsequently found to be without substance could be called a lot of things worse than a whore. Limbaugh, of course knows no more than I do about what happened and how this thing will play out, but then he is not known for having any sense of discretion or decency.

What’s funny is the Right accused Jill Carroll of being a terrorist, and the Left accused the whole Duke team of being rapists, both without waiting for the facts. I think what needs to be said is that even if technically Limbaugh is right—that’s she’s a prostitute, he has no proof of that. It’s true that escorts can be prostitutes, but no one definitely knows if that’s true or not.
Either portraying her as a dancer or an escort has nothing to do what really happened, and by positively identifying her as a ‘whore’ without knowing the facts, he’s inferred to his listeners into thinking that a prostitute went into a house of guys and got what she deserved. And for that, he certainly is wrong.

Thats FUNNY, the Topless Bars here in Dallas are what they Call High Class, The Million Dollar Saloon. And to James — I agree with you that people should be considered innocent until proven guilty. If the DNA tests don’t match any of the members of the lacrosse team or are inconclusive, then that should throw enough reasonable doubt into the case to necessitate either dismissing the case outright or the jury rendering a “not guilty” verdict. Gang rape is a brutal, sadistic, and inhuman crime — but it’s still no excuse for a witch-hunt, nor is there any justification for not releasing the results of the DNA tests publicly. That being said, I protest the veiled insinuation that you appear to have made to the effect that this woman’s profession somehow automatically renders her less credible than the members of the lacrosse team –although I’ll give you credit where credit is due in that you didn’t stoop to Limbaugh’s level by writing her off completely. Regardless of her profession, NO woman ever deserves to be raped — not even a prostitute — because rape is not about sex, but power. If this woman was really raped, it shouldn’t matter what she initially agreed to — even if she actually was a prostitute and agreed to accept payment for sex with one of the players, that still doesn’t mean that she could rightfully be considered fair game for everyone whether she agreed or not.

The urban dictionary definition of of “ho” is a female (or male) who exchanges sexual favors for money. In casual usage, it can be equated to slut, not necessarily requiring intercourse. A woman can act like a ho and not necessarily be one.
An escort/stripper/ exotic dancer fits the definition. Whether she was raped or not doesn’t make a difference. If a girl who shakes her ass in front of a bunch of drunk morons for cash isn’t a ho, who is? At the very least she’s a half-ho.
If I’m not mistaken, the term was popularized by the hip hop community, well known for it’s legendary respect for women.
