Tracy — April 5, 2006: Thanks for the link as I really enjoyed it. If you have others, please post them.

DeLay’s bragging is full of interesting tidbits, that’s if you can get past the anger that lays on the surface. He seems to be talking a lot right now and that’s good because we can learn what else has been happening.

I was in a family for more than 26 years who joined Organized Crime, but this wasn’t any ordinary Organized Crime system. They called it “The World’s Largest Criminal System” and rightfully so. Having many criminal function facets, the most interesting is the Very Wide Scale Political Coruption System. It extends from my local area up through our largest city of Chicago on up through the State Government and up into the most top part of our Federal Government. I could tell you many experiences but just accept that they called it “The World’s Largest” for good reason! An interesting statistic is from what I know, out of every 10 Politicians involved, 3 are Democrats and 7 are Republicans, so this isn’t ONLY a Republican crime system.

The sleaze, pay to play and other schemes are all part of how they do their business. But what many don’t know is where does the corruption money go? The Corruption Laundromats haven’t surfaced yet, but they are out there waiting for their curtain call, I’m sure. The largest that I’m aware of is called “Mandarin Oriental Group” which the Tribune breifly probed and found suspicious MOB ties. Hey, wait a minute! Isn’t Mandarin owned by Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum who owns Dubai? I have links if needed!

My life’s experience in this crosses multiple times with GusBoulis/Abramoff, MOB, Rosemont Il, Former IL Gov Big Jim Thompson, Former IL Gov Ryan (currently on trial) and many many more. To be honest with you, with what is coming up ahead, you better have seatbelts on your computer chair!

Corruption is ONLY one little part of what this is. Considering that I’ve said this is called “The World’s Largest Criminal System” then add that “Corruption is one little part of what this is”, should offer some insight with how huge and involved this is. It also extends beyond our shores. Better get that seatbelt installed quick!

TP is a TABLOID to the Nth Degree and is no more or less accurate that those sites I mentioned.

"Had it ever dawned on you that maybe they were re-negotiating the deal at WLIB because of the HIGH RATINGS?"

They are re-negotiating and REFORMATTING because of their bad ratings. Rush is on WABC and he is ranked #8 in NY and #1 in talk radio. WLIB is #24 in NY and #3 in talk radio, i.e. LAST.

http://www.nyradioguide.com/ratings.htm

I do believe that Mike Malloy is now off the air on WLIB. Why is that?

http://www.mikemalloy.com/listen.html

"Air america went from basically 0 liberal radio stations to 90 in 2 years."

Rush was on 56 stations in his first year of syndicated broadcasting....alone.

"Sorry, but these reichwing hacks don’t have ‘talent’, they have ‘access’ from corporate masters that want to promote their own values. Nothing more."

Well that's a undefendable assumption.

Actually Tracy, it would be a damn sight better for your argument if you actually brought up what makes you say <em>New Jersey is the most politically corrupt state in America.</em>

I mean, you have basically made the general sweeping accusation of corruption, but you haven't actually stated anything in support of it.

Further, like I keep on saying, if you believe both parties to be corrupt, vote for somebody else. It isn't like corruption is made any more acceptable because the other guy did it too. "The other guy doing it too" smacks of a four year old whining about getting caught misbehaving.

I never brought up Ernie Fletcher…you did. As long as we are clear that neither the Democrats OR the Republicans are saints. The fact that New Jersey is the most politically corrupt state in the U.S. makes the Democrats just as foulable.

Comment by Tracy — April 4, 2006 @ 10:52 pm

Since The governer of the State HAS to pardon a large part of his staff and is fighting the Attorney General to stop the investigation the corruption is pretty rampent.........You make a statement about a state but no fact to back it up, typical troll stupid and angry.

"Air America programs hosted by Al Franken and Randi Rhodes have outperformed their conservative rivals Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly among adults between the ages of 25 and 54, a key demographic for advertisers."

ONLY in New York. Did you even read the quote? You are going from LOL funny to annoying...real quick.

"I guess the 14 year old crowd (obviously the one you belong to) still prefer the lies of pappa bear - but the rest of america says you’re an idiot."

Considering you use that word quite a bit you are far better suited to it.

"Reportedly, Limbaugh ended the show due to disappointment that it was aired too late in the evening in many markets"

Again after 5 years on the air and the imense prep time it takes to do a TV show, it was getting to be a waste of his time.

"I guess you never saw saturday night live - Al has talent, something you wouldn’t understand."

Just because Al Frankin was on Saturday Night Live doesn't make it HIS show. He was just another commedian on that show that should have stayed there....he was actually funny when he read from a script. It's telling that a comdian would actually have the audacity to think that anyone would take his political commentary seriously...when NO ONE really does.

"Air america is launching an ENTIRE NETWORK, not just a single headliner."

And with ALL of that so-called "talent" they haven't even begun to approach Rush OR Hannity...all by themselves.

"But despite what IDIOTS like you think, they’re profitable,..."

Oh no they are not! Educate yourself.

WLIB to drop Air America...didn't that use to be their "flag-ship" station?

Gary Krantz, president of Air America Radio:

"Most importantly, we have a dedicated board and investors who support our business."

That would be all of those wealth billionaires like George Soros who keep Air America afloat as noted here...

I never brought up Ernie Fletcher...you did. As long as we are clear that neither the Democrats OR the Republicans are saints. The fact that New Jersey is the most politically corrupt state in the U.S. makes the Democrats just as foulable.

Oh, I thought Ryan was talking about nation wide demographics. He shouldn't have left that very important piece of information out when he made the claim. New York is but a small corner of the U.S. and that one station you mentioned is one of hundreds across the nation.

"Now, knowing that you’re living in Dallas, turn in to AM 950. You’ll get a breath of fresh air to counteract the calumny and mendacity of Rush Limbaugh."

Uh, that would be AM 910 and yes I do listen on occasion to the Randi Rhodes show. She is on from 4-8p p.m. CST. and when I listen I constantly need to roll down the windows as I am driving home. Considering Jerry Springer is also on Air America radio (LOL!), that right there tells alot about the entire Air America program. The main thing that amazes me about Air America is that when the hosts try to be funny or when they play their lame little skits you have to have a really dry sense of humor it order to get a chuckle.

FYI Sean Hannity was syndicated in 2001 and he's way beyond any of Air America's hosts.

How long has he had to spread his “message” on the radio compared to Air America?

His syndicated show will be comming on 20 years. Must be doing something right considering to get syndicated you have to have good ratings.

"What were his ratings in his first two years on the radio?"

As a syndicated talk show host? Much higher than any of the Air America talk show hosts that were on the radio way before Air America started. Randi Rhodes has been on talk radio since the late 1980s and her show is STILL not syndicated (I think).

"What ever happened to his television show?"

It was on from 1992-1996, i.e. five years., so your assertion that it "bombed" quick is inaccurate, a lie, or both. If Al Frankin ever gets his own television show, that will be a bigger miracle than when Jesus walked on water.

#67 - "In New York City, Air America's flagship station WLIB ranks 24th of 43 measured stations in the New York market with a 1.4 rating, behind competing talk stations WABC (ranked 10th with a 3.4 rating) and WOR (ranked 20th with a 2.1 rating), [9] though Air America programs hosted by Al Franken and Randi Rhodes have outperformed their conservative rivals Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly among adults between the ages of 25 and 54, a key demographic for advertisers. [10]

Nationwide, however, conservatives continue to dominate political talk radio, benefitting from greater name recognition and a much larger networks of stations. For example, Rush Limbaugh, the most popular talk radio host in the United States, averages a cumulative weekly audience ("cume") of about 13.75 million listeners on more than 500 stations nationwide, [11] whereas the Air America network as a whole reported a cume of 3.1 million listeners over 67 stations for the spring 2005 ratings period. [12] <strong>(Air America Radio has added more than 20 new affiliate stations since then, however, so the network's cumulative audience has almost certainly grown significantly since spring 2005.)</strong>

A daily podcast of The Al Franken Show was offered for download for a period in 2005 from Apple Computer's iTunes website, where it consistently appeared in the list of the most popular podcasts downloaded each day.

For more ratings information, see the listings at Radio and Records, and search by call letter within the specific markets. Alternatively, go directly to the Arbitron website for this data: [13]"

Now, knowing that you're living in Dallas, turn in to AM 950. You'll get a breath of fresh air to counteract the calumny and mendacity of Rush Limbaugh.

In Austin, Air America plays on 1600 AM.

Now, before you start to gush about how Rush Limbaugh is outperforming Air America, ask yourself three questions: How long has he had to spread his "message" on the radio compared to Air America? What were his ratings in his first two years on the radio? What ever happened to his television show?

I'll answer number 3 for you: it bombed faster than Pres. Bush bombed Iraq.

Considering I live in Dallas...yeah I have seen in depth media coverage of people not obeying police officers...especially those camped out in ditch outside Crawford. As for Ohio here is a typical example...

There's an old saying from somewhere - the Good Book, I believe - that describes in the simplest yet most perfect way the kind of scenario we Americans are dealing with these days.

"The love of money is the root of all evil."

It goes without saying that there are a lot of people in office these days that absolutely love money. It's nothing new, I know. It's a long-running trend of ever worsening corruption and what is now considered by many to be the profound and absolute putrification of the American political process. There's a good reason so much faith in the ballot box has been lost from the people of this once fine country. A vote is only as good as the note of legal tender it's written on now.

The love of money is a scourge, an abominable plague brought upon the leaders of this country and spread among themselves without abandon. To carry this disease of the heart and mind is likened to a badge of honor, as we can now clearly see thanks to DeLay and his antics in office. However, I see that many of us are afflicted as well, not by greed, but by the maladies of wrath and pride. We mustn't forget that all politicians are human, and therefore they are all subject to the same forms of sin. We can see now that the entire system has been broken for some time regardless of the ruling party. If anything, the powers that be are using our divisive political nature against us to create smokescreen after smokescreen to shield our eyes from the truth of their corruption, and as long as we remain divided and refuse to unite against our foes in office, or worse yet, support them for their party alone, they will continue to do as they have and sell this country piecemeal to the highest bidders.

No one party here in America is a party of saints. The Republican party at large, with their so-called conservative rightist values and their near-fanatical support of Christianity, has proven to be every bit as godless as the Democrats they condem. Meanwhile, what have the spineless sheep in wolves' clothing sitting on the left been doing to further the Democratic party's cause? Not much, and as we can see in places like New Jersey, as another reader pointed out, they're up to the very same tricks that have brought infamy to the Republican party in recent weeks and months. It's a no-win situation for us citizens, and with leaders like these, who needs enemies? With the help of the self-corrupting political system that both parties have helped to bring into existance, they're doing an excellent job of destroying this country and its core values, one dollar at a time.

That's not to say that all politicians are bad, of course. There are still some good people out there, but the problem seems to be that they have the hardest time winding up where we need them. Perhaps our votes still mean something, though, and I know our money certainly means just as much if not more. What we are witnessing here is a brief moment of vulnerability in the system. Years of lies, bribes, and corruption are being revealed right before our very eyes. Let's set aside our differences and our party affiliations, shall we? We all know this is very, very wrong, regardless of whether we happen to be Democrats or Republicans, or even independents like myself. I think that we can all agree that these living monuments to greed and downright dirty politics need to be struck down and brought to justice. Write letters to your representatives and support efforts to remove these people from office. Group together and make your presence known, and say out loud, "No," to these moneymongering scumbags that control our country!
