Fox actually publicized this poll result? Good for them. I would have expected them to pretend the poll never happened rather than reveal that there is less support for their president than they think.
This is a great victory for Bush he has sucessfully avoided falling to a 30% approval rating now two months in a row. This goes to show his tremendous political capital that he does in fact have and he should spend it…
… at a dollar store. It’ll last a bit longer that way.

Is MSNBC actually still on the air and if so how or maybe the question be why? Their 4 Top Shows: OLBERMANN 490,000, ABRAMS 412,000, HARDBALL 396,000 and SCARBOROUGH 386,000 combined are barely better than Fox’s SHEP SMITH 1,402,000 in viewership. The Fox Report with Shepard Smith is a 7pm show while the MSBNC one’s are more traditional Prime Time Shows. When the entire MSNBC line up competes with either Hannity & Combs or The O’Reilly Factor its not even a contest.
I feel obligated to mention to MSNBC that Tom & Red are available to do a Prime Time Show. I am sure the blogoshere would tune in and give us better ratings than Chris Matthews and everyone would be glad to see Olbermann go. Just a suggestion.
ThinkProgress… what are you talking about?!? I don’t see his rating at 37% on the site. Did they change it?! What I see it…
“Today, 36 percent of Americans say they approve of the job George W. Bush is doing as president and 53 percent disapprove.”
and I see this…
“Today, 29 percent of Americans say they approve of the job Republicans in Congress are doing, down from 34 percent approval last month and 37 percent at the beginning of the year.”
Why does Faux News hate America? They are undermining our Preznit by publicizing the fact that Americans think he’s an idiot. Don’t they know how propaganda works?
it’s way past time for the republicans in congress to grow a set and ask the president to resign and avoid the embarrassment of impeachment…this mis-administration has to stop…
#16 – it’s way past time for the republicans in congress to grow a set and ask the president to resign and avoid the embarrassment of impeachment…this mis-administration has to stop…
Exactly! Well said.
One would think the Republicans would consider their increasingly tenuous position on all these matters and “deal with their own”. But maybe they’re as stupid as they behave?

Actually, Magnum, maybe TP just wanted to make sure no one would accuse them from exagerating. But you are right, of course.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but it is the older Time poll dated 29 March that gives junior the higher rating: 37% approval vs. 57% disapproval.
Wow!! And the much-hated-by-the-right President Clinton was at 65% when he left office. He REALLY must have been quite a leader given all the barbs that were thrown at him throughout his eight years. I guess an amazing record of economic growth and prosperity doesn’t hurt either. Too bad Bush can’t seem to come up with a SINGLE policy that works.
Bush’s policies work, for the people they are intended to benefit, they work fine. He has served his masters well.
The number is 37 on Fox! I wonder what the REAL number is.
Oh, sorry, I see that’s what everyone else said.
Heheh.
I am one who is not happy with the President in many areas, but liberals forget that the reasons one may not be satisfied with the Presidents performance often differ greatly. As a result of this fact his poll numbers do not automatically translate into grain for the Dems.
#27… I get confused a lot too. So many different versions of what may be happening. But here is a site that gathers all kinds of polls into one section:
Poll: Democrats have ten-point lead over Republicans – Many voters in the United States will support Democratic Party candidates this year, according to a poll by SRBI Public Affairs published in Time. 51 per cent of respondents would back the Democratic contender in their congressional district, according to Angus-Reid Global Scan.
or
Bush, GOP Approval Ratings Find New Lows – By a 49-33 margin, the public favors Democrats over Republicans when asked which party should control Congress…. The public gives Democrats a slight edge on what party would best handle Iraq, a reversal from Election Day 2004.
So excuse me if I show some excitement that America actually may see light again.
37%–the percentage of Americans with more koolaide in their veins than red blood.
April 6th, 2006 at 4:29 pmFox actually publicized this poll result? Good for them. I would have expected them to pretend the poll never happened rather than reveal that there is less support for their president than they think.
April 6th, 2006 at 4:33 pmI doubt it will ever go any lower than that.
It goes to show you how much people want to believe in whatever it is they have invested emotionally.
Although it is uncomfortable to realise how many adults still need a strong father figure.
April 6th, 2006 at 4:34 pmGeorgie keeps flailing around trying to get those numbers up, but all he can manage is a flat line. Keep up the good work.
April 6th, 2006 at 4:35 pmHe will probably get a bump in Fox’s poll after the Henry Taylor incident. The pundits will rally to his defense.
April 6th, 2006 at 4:36 pmit is hard to imagine it staying tied now that this is officially out.
April 6th, 2006 at 4:39 pmWow 37 percent on FOX News
cant wait to see how Brit Hume spins this…….
37 Fox reallly means 30 percent elsewhere……..
April 6th, 2006 at 4:40 pmI too am shocked that FOx published this poll.
When will they realize that their ratings will go up when they start telling the truth about Washington and the Bush cabal?
I mean really, you would think that a higher viewership would be what the big wigs are after. I just don’t get the bad business practice.

April 6th, 2006 at 6:31 pmThis is beautiful news – if this facist regimes biggest supporter reports an approval rating of 36%, that’s pretty significant.
April 6th, 2006 at 7:12 pm#17 – Glenn Becker – good point. I say religion was created so that men could control women.
April 6th, 2006 at 7:17 pmWho gives a S*#! about” Hoax ”news,or their polls?
April 6th, 2006 at 8:48 pmTHAT’S PRETTY AMAZING, CONSIDERING THAT FOX ALWAYS COOKS THEIR POLL NUMBERS TO MAKE THE REPUBLICANS LOOK GOOD.
THE REALITY’S PROBABLY MUCH WORSE FOR BUSH.
April 6th, 2006 at 9:26 pm#23 I concur;On T.V. and radio Hannity didn’t even mention Libbys’ statement about Bush.Limbo;about three seconds,literally.’Fair and balanced”.

GOOD
April 7th, 2006 at 4:52 amWho do they survey on the phone? I have never gotten a phone call.
It’s a good thing because I think OLd Bushie should be INPEACHED.
