could be Rep. Adam H. Putnam (R-FL), Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), or Rep. Patrick T. McHenry (R-NC). McHenry: “I’m blown away … I’m so excited that Tom DeLay would say that about me.”

McHenry: Wow! I knew he liked me, but I didn’t know he liked me, liked me! Like, I didn’t even know he knew I existed! *squeal!* I’ve got to call all my girlfriends!!!
-It’s ominous that this is my first thought on a Monday morning…
You too could be a corrupt, lying, cheating, and stealing politician….
C’mon down!!!
This whole Tom Delay “is a hero” nonsense the right wing is pushing is dispicable….
I cant wait until the full dtails of his wrong doings are disclosed to the general American public….then we will see how much love the Rethugs still throw his way…
It won’t matter how bad things get with Delay, the right will always see him as a persacuted good guy. think of how they have nearly enshrined Ronald Reagan.
“. . . enshrined Ronald Reagan” — oh, where do we start? Reagan was a mediocre president, at best. You’re right–the conservatives have done everything they can to try to show Reagan should somehow be viewed as the greatest president of our generation. Of course, who else do they have, Bush 1? Bush 2? Nixon??? Any president who requires a “legacy project” to tout his great achievements obviously didn’t have any great achievements.
… ‘course, some knee-jerk conservative will now quote, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.” Yep . . . end of the Soviet Union. Thanks, Ronnie. bwaaaahahahahaha.
These people scare me more and more each day.I’ve been cruising around RedState and the logic and holier than thou mindset is really starting to get to me.What kind of responsible human being would use the phrase”I’m so excited”after being targeted to become the new parriah,to replace a real honest to goodness sinner who thinks that Jesus has hid him behind his skirt?
Whoe knew that McHenry would be so excited about future prison time?
But wait — the next DeLay needs a new Abramoff. Who’s that going to be? Maybe the Hammer himself once he gets out of prison.
Just be thankful that you’re not a member of DeLay’s district. It sucks to not actually be represented, and to have neighbors who still support the guy.
Someone is really stupid here: it’s either the Federal Government, for expecting us to believe this mularkey, or it’s us, for swallowing it whole and asking for more.
Poor McHenry. If someone suggested that I was going to grow up to be a Tom DeLay clone, I’d shave my head and enter a Buddhist monastary to avoid such a horrible fate.
McHenry is the typical College Republican operative without any real life experience (or skills) who inserted himself into a district where the long-time R Congressman (Cass Ballenger) was retiring. In typical GOPer fashion, he trashed the reputation of his older and definitely more qualified primary challenger with inuendo and aspersions for an easy primary victory then won an essentially unopposed general election.
The good news is that he will have a real, functioning opponent in November.
My money’s on Adam Putnam. He already has a seat on the House Rules Committee and, interesting to remember, he also happened to be with Bush in Florida on 9/11.

April 10th, 2006 at 11:36 amDude, I live in Los Angeles,
take a drive over to Simi Valley sometime, you can use the Ronald Reagan Memorial Freeway to go to the Ronald Reagan Library.

April 10th, 2006 at 11:41 amMcHenry; It’s NOT a compliment to have DeLay like you…..
April 10th, 2006 at 11:44 amIs this the same sort of “Blown away” that someone who has just gotten invited to go hunting with Dick Cheney feels maybe?

April 10th, 2006 at 11:44 amI was wondering who the next crook would be. And who better to name him. Funny, now we know who to watch out for and who the bad guys are. Thanks Tom.

April 10th, 2006 at 11:53 amNothing says “please investigate me” like a Tom DeLay endorsement!

April 10th, 2006 at 12:23 pmI notice that Patty McHenry is the youngest member in congress. A 29 year old, unmarried, pudgy fat kid from North Carolina.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m guessing DeLay isn’t the only one blowing him.
April 10th, 2006 at 12:27 pmI mean blowing him away.
April 10th, 2006 at 12:30 pm#18 – Glad you cleared that up, Joe. ;)
April 10th, 2006 at 12:47 pmLet’s not forget how “Washington National” became “Reagan national” in the blink of an eye.
