I used to like Chris Matthews a lot, but I think he’s becoming a little unhinged. The deal was sealed when I saw this “video of Delay ball-washing that Harry Shearer caught.
I have to agree; Santorum is more likely to energize his base than Matthews, who is perceived (HUH!!) as a “liberal” in republican circles. He doesn’t have a prayer (ha ha).
BTW, has anyone noticed that we all take for granted that he plans to run as a Republican? No questions asked? Maybe we should send this to Matthews, so he realizes that he cannot even remotely think of running as a Democrat. He’d be given the Lieberman treatment for DINOs.
Now I understand why he said to Delay in that tape, “I owe you one…no two.” He plans to run in Penn. Then if (big if) he wins he will be directly connected to Delay lobbying efforts. Sounds like a nice little plan for the two of them. Too bad he has to get voted into office first….hmmm…Diebold anyone?
#7 – he could only run as a democrat if he wanted to go the Lieberman route…Get voted out in the primary and become a perot/nader independent ticket splitter thus forcing the republican running to win. Hmmmm. Maybe that’s his plan after all.
#11
Devious…and yet he could still claim that he was a Democrat and not a Repub shill. Thus securing a repub win and supply himself with ammo against his detractors. Eewww…I feel unclean just thinking that way.
I can hear it now. “He was against the war before he was for it before he was against it before he was for it before he was against it before he was…” They should call that show Mushball.
The guy is unelectable, why do you even entertain such media hyperbole? These Neo-Christian Faux News People, they have a Very Odd way of Being ‘Christian’. A war on Christmas? A War on Easter?
The comments on the Huffington Post indicate that Matthews would run as a Democrat. I don’t know much about him myself, what I do know of him is mostly through the parodies that Darell Hammond does of him on Saturday Night Live, which is hysterical, but probably not too reliable as a source of information.
I’m not crazy about Casey, but my concern with the prospect of Matthews running is that he might divide the Democratic camp by stirring up some trouble and controversy. Media figures know how to do that pretty well. And if he chooses to go the independent route, we’re REALLY screwed. So I’d say that it’s probably best if this rumor just dies down and doesn’t go anywhere.
First, I thank God I don’t live in Pennsylvania. If I did I would be more inclined to vote for the local garbage hauler than for this cretin. Go ahead prissy Chrissy run. and I hope you are so soundly defeated that you will never show your face in public or be heard from again.
Chris must be on the Bottle ,he appears to have that look on T.V. does anyone know for sure? Will he run prolly so with delay backing him . he is in delay’s lap a lot just snuggle puppy time for the Camera..
I would like to put Sylvester the Cat as an opponent. Tweety won’t last long, his big head is too edible for our own Sylvester. I never thought I’d root for the cat to get his paws on the Tweety Pie.
Santorum will blow him out of hte primaries, no question asked.
April 11th, 2006 at 10:05 amWell that would be one way to get him off the air.
He can not win. He does not have an honest bone in his body. The Penn voters are tried of dishonest Senators.
April 11th, 2006 at 10:06 amHuh? Spector’s seat in in 2010?!?!?
April 11th, 2006 at 10:07 amI thought his brother in law (or some close family member) was running. Or he might be a campaign manager for some republican who’se running.
Not that that should disqualify him. It just seems that is one of the reasons he has been a fluffer to the republithugs that appear on his show.
I say, bring him on! Then we can really nail his ass to a cross.

April 11th, 2006 at 10:44 am#11: Good catch. That’s really the only way his candidacy makes any sense…

This sounds much like the Jewish Karaite meme.

I thot I thaw a puddy cat.
April 11th, 2006 at 11:39 amWhat’s to say that if he runs as an independent that he would pull more votes away from the dems than the rethugs.
Almost everyone here sees him as a rethug – maybe they do too?
April 11th, 2006 at 12:02 pmPlease run, Chris, please!

April 11th, 2006 at 1:11 pmHe couldn’t stack up to even “Magic Bullet” Specter. But Santorum…? How could be any worse than the Froth Man?
Btw, for those of you just tuning in, I have a new Assclowns up, which wasn’t posted until late last night.
April 11th, 2006 at 1:12 pmI hope the two-face motherf***er does run. He will be exposed as the prick that he is, I suspect.
April 11th, 2006 at 2:08 pmThis story deserves a fark version of LGN, where did Huffington hear this from?
April 11th, 2006 at 2:47 pmDoes that mean he will be off the TV?
April 11th, 2006 at 3:15 pmThat might make it worthwhile. After he loses, he will have to be one of those “paid consultants.”
