		<description>T &#039;I-RIGHT-I&#039; comment #17 and your position that Cheney getting booed at the ballgame isn&#039;t the least bit important, I&#039;d like to counter by saying it is VERY IMPORTANT when a sitting Vice President cannot attend a public event without getting booed by that public. The same would be true for any high level administration official. 
It&#039;s important that the general public gets a chance to express their feelings directly, and just as important that the administration official hear it! Too many of the almost scripted appearances of this President and Vice-President are held in front of nothing but highly screened audiences in which there is about a 1% chance of there being a person in the audience who is not one of their few remaining idealogue supporters who hate to admit (Just like Bush, Cheney, Rummy) that they&#039;ve ever made a mistake in their lives. A bit of insecurity there, isn&#039;t it?
When an administration rules by nothing but fear, fear, and more fear, the public eventually overcomes the initial fear shock and begins to look at the reality of things, but there will always be that 30% of the public who give in to their fears, fears which in most of this group are numerous.</description>

If this were a stand alone event - then yes. It would be splitting hairs.

But in the context of all of the other things - the hiring of a dubious right-wing blogger, the reality challenged editorial regarding the leaks - which was somewhat sympathetic to president - and then there is #21&#039;s observation that a major story      ( the Joe Wilson editorial ...  a story, to me, that is somewhat reminiscent of the Washington Post&#039;s Watergate glory days ) possibly intentionally kept off of the front page and pushed into the bowels of the paper  ... 

In the context of all of these things, I would have to say that we are not splitting hairs over what seems to be a pattern of the Washington Post&#039;s recent pattern of splitting or spinning the truth.</description>

		<description>sigh,I tried to follow a fox news discussion tonite. They all looked like good ole boys chewing the fat and spinning stories. I checked their statements versus the libby /fitzgerald  filing and found
they were indeed spinning stories. The interesting thing about lies is that they get bigger and 
bigger. Eventually they implode. In this particular instance I keep tapping my foot and looking at my watch waiting for the event. implode already!</description>
