The cockpit recording from United Flight 93 was released yesterday. David Corn: “All of us who work on Capitol Hill — in the Capitol or not — owe these passengers our profound gratitude. Having heard about the attacks in New York, they decided to take action. They probably realized that the lives were already lost, but they would go out fighting — to save others .”
It is a tragedy for the lives of those lost. They do deserve our respect.
Why is it that the right leaning sites think that flight 93 adds credence to their views and takes away from ours? I don’t get it beyond bloated self ego masturbation.
April 13th, 2006 at 3:19 pmyou all know that the last 3 minutes of the recording was never played because the Passengers overan the hijackers, so the military shot the plane down cause they did not want any hijackers left alive ………?????
April 13th, 2006 at 3:23 pmTrue bravery is shown by performing without witness what one might be capable of doing before all the world.

My God bless those wonderful souls of Flight 93.
April 13th, 2006 at 3:26 pmAnd then Bush besmirched their last full measure of devotion and sacrifice by ignoring the man responsible for their murders – bin Laden – and turning his focus onto that shiny object called Iraq.
April 13th, 2006 at 3:26 pmRemember when Rumsfeld accidentally admitted that we shot down that plane? Search for it. Its there. He said it.
Lets roll indeed.
April 13th, 2006 at 3:28 pm#1 – The answer to your question: They think they own morals and compassion. Funny how their ethics are screwed up and want to screw the poor even more.
#2 – Please don’t go there.
Let’s just feel compassion to the friends and families of those lost.
April 13th, 2006 at 3:28 pmGod Bless those brave souls who battled in their last few minutes of life…
However the transcript just seems fishy to me….
“Unintelligible” and “Allah is the greatest” is about it….
Who wrote it Cheney or Rumsfeld the RNC…
I would be interested in hearing it but the US has a poilicy of not releasing audio version for the sake of the families…..
Its sad that you cant even trust this current adminstration to handle this in a truthful manner so I have my doubts….
and BTW here is the Rumsfeld saying PLANE shot DOWN

Fully Agreed
April 13th, 2006 at 3:44 pmyou can honor the families of the dead and still question the official story. in fact the greatest way to honor the victims of 911 is to find out what really happened.
true patriots constantly and vigorously question their government, especially when the media refuses to.
April 13th, 2006 at 3:44 pmIt all has had an impact.
No one has tried to hijack a plane in the US since. I don’t think it’s undercover air marshalls who stop people from trying. i think it’s cause they know the passengers would kill them. Literally tear them limb from limb. A hijacking isn’t a free trip to Cuba anymore. We all know that & we will all act on those lines if it ever happened to us.
April 13th, 2006 at 4:02 pmYou think we’ll ever get the truth about 9/11? How many things had to fail. All the people they passed, all the officials. Few cared about doing a good job. Want to fly without landing, sure, no problem, just give me the money and I don’t care. I”ll never forget the 7 minutes our President sat in a children’s schoolroom, while our country was under attack. Another tragedy, Katrina, and where was our President as Americans were dying
April 13th, 2006 at 4:05 pm:-( But seriously, our politicians continuously evoke emotions in people with guns, abortion, and gays, and they spend our money on pork wasteful projects, and yet the really important issues, life and death, quality of life, our future, they ignore. Too difficult to solve, they leave, they recess, accomplishing nothing. Congress has abdicated their responsibilities to power hungry man and his party.
There are some things worth dying for, and the passengers and crew on Flight 93 understood that.
April 13th, 2006 at 4:23 pmAnyone who thinks incompetence is to blame should do ten seconds of research regarding Cheney and NORAD. Essentially, Cheney took over control of the institution 3 months before 9/11 and then return it to the proper generals shortly after 9/11. Strange? And Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta testified that he was with Cheney on 9/11 and that Cheney was tracking flight 77 from as far as 50 miles out from the Pentagon. Andrews Air Force base is 15 miles from the Pentagon, but no fighters were launched to intercept Flight 77.
How obvious does it have to be? Now google The PROJECT FOR A NEW AMERICAN CENTURY and see how badly Cheney wanted a “New Pearl Harbour”.
April 13th, 2006 at 4:34 pmFlight 93 was our first response back to the terrorists showing them that America could not be defeated. I know the left will never admit to this, but it is clear that we have clearly disrupted the Al Qaeda organization. The MSM did not give much air time to a recent story showing that the London bombings last year were not the work of Al Qaeda but a bunch of free lance terrorists. The left in this country has done nothing but take swipes at the president, something you never do during a time of war. All of the propaganda spewed out has aided our enemy and made the Iraq war tougher for our brave men and women to fight. The fact that it took the democratic party four and half years to develop a policy on national security shows how pathetic you guys are. I hope you never get your power back.
April 13th, 2006 at 5:00 pm#14 – You are correct, this is the most incompetent administration ever.
April 13th, 2006 at 5:15 pmLet’s remember that one of the biggest heroes of the day was Mark Bingham, an openly gay businessman from San Francisco who was, by all accounts, the one who uttered the famous words, “Let’s roll” — the battle cry for the passenger assault on the cockpit.
Bingham had been on his cell phone with his mother, who told him about the WTC. He knew exactly what was going on, and did not hesitate a moment do his part.
Every American serviceman — or redneck yahoo — who hollers “Let’s Roll” in support of our Middle East adventures is (probably unknowingly) paying tribute to this particular American hero. It might be fun, when the occasion arises, to remind them of that.

April 13th, 2006 at 5:16 pmI just wish to echo Mr. Corn’s words. I was working on K-street that morning, just a few blocks from the White House. One jet had just hit the Pentagon, and word was flying through our building that another plane was headed our way.
I am humbled that those people may have saved my life, and/or thousands of other DC workers scrambling to get away from the White House, Capitol complex and other likely intended targets. May the flight 93 passengers RIP.
April 13th, 2006 at 5:46 pmI am so sick of the passengers of Flight 93 being disgraced by this lying administration. Cell phones do not work at 35,000 feet. Jet engines do not bounce or blow in the wind for five miles. And an airline crash site ALWAYS has pieces of bodies in it. This was did not. That plane was shot down on the orders of Bush and Cheney. Why all this bullshit about heroes and struggles? The only way the victims of Flight 93 will be honoured will be when Bush and Cheney are thrown in jail for lying.
April 13th, 2006 at 5:59 pm#14 Randy – I hope that you are being dispatched to fight in Iraq or are you just another hollow, yellow elephant?
April 13th, 2006 at 6:01 pmI think if we put that terrible man to death for him knowing what was going on, we better be fully prepared to be hit again!!!!! That scares me very much. Mr. President…..What are you prepared to do? I thought so…nothing of course!
April 13th, 2006 at 6:05 pm#14
Stop coopting patriotism just so that you can us it as a sheild to hide behind while you criticize us. Fuck You and everyone who listens to your garbage! If you’re not hiding behind the troops, then you are hiding under a rock. We understand that 9-11 was a tragic day in our country’s history, and we don’t even have to explain ourselves to someone like you because first off, we’ve explained it to people like you a thousand times. Secondly, you would never believe us if we told you how we really felt about the 9-11 tragedy because you hate us anyway. You’d just never say it to our faces.
April 13th, 2006 at 6:07 pm#13 Justin – I just visited the PNAC website – it’s that group of nazis that believe in ruling the world. The Roman Emporers wanted to rule the world, Napoleon wanted to rule the world and Hilter wanted to rule the world, just to name a few, and where did it get them? It destroyed thier country.
As for flight 93 – my heart is saddened by the needless loss of lives. Now there is a movie about flight 93 which is probably another republican ploy to keep us afraid and focused on 9/11. What Bush&Co are forgetting is that the public remembers Osama and we lost track of him because of some crazy idea about invading Iraq (and getting even with Saddam and a one upsmanship of dear old daddy bush).
April 13th, 2006 at 6:13 pmMatthew you are 100% right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 13th, 2006 at 6:13 pmVery true, Bush feels that he must finish what his daddy started! Bush is quick to send relief help overseas, but what about our people? He wouldnt even help Hurrican Katrina victims….Great old America…Yea right, not as long as Bush’s ass is in the seat!Pardon my french but Clinton my have gotton his dick sucked under a table and and smoked some tweeds, but we were alot better off with him in there! As for flight 93, may they Rest In Peace!
April 13th, 2006 at 6:24 pmLisa – my only difference of opinion with what you said is that I think it’s Darth Cheney running the show. King dumbya is just a marionette.
April 13th, 2006 at 6:44 pm#14. You are just silly.
War is the most important time to disagree with the president. War is the most stressful time a nation can endure. War should never be taken lightly and should never be undertaken without the highest degree of inquiry and introspection.
Furthermore, the right and power of dissent should never be denied to the public for any reason whatsoever.
As for an emboldened enemy, do you think that CNN broadcasts and Time magazine are more powerful exemplars of our impotency than their own eyes? They can clearly see for themselves whether and how much (or little) our military can affect the situation on the ground.
You are just silly.

Cell phones do not work at 35,000 feet.
The FCC and FAA seem to think so
http://money.cnn.com/2004/12/09/technology/personaltech/cellphones_inflight/
Cell phone use has been banned due to concerns about how it could affect an aircraft’s navigation. And cell phones sometimes have trouble working when the plane is at cruising altitude because phone towers aren’t built to project their signals that high.
April 13th, 2006 at 7:51 pmI’m not interested in this story as too much doubt surrounds all the events to offer an attempt at a definitive “story”. Propaganda is done BEFORE facts are clear, generally. I file this as propaganda.
As soon as the complete tape is released (I understand the last four minutes that may only have the sound of wind before a crash,) I will be interested.
Personally, I doubt the entire official account, so I am not disposed to partake of this human drama. It’s a bit tawdry and vulgar, isn’t it? Speculating about the terror others may have experienced, all while making money for a film maker, but mostly for a studio.
April 13th, 2006 at 8:56 pmI have just one question…
Where’s the plane?
They show a hole in the ground in a field with some smoke.
Where’s the plane?
A757 is a huge aircraft.
They don’t just dissapear like the plane that supposedly hit the Pentagon and Bldg. 7 and the Twin Towers did.
Why where the laws of physics suspended on that day?
“Not only do we have a right to know, we have a duty to know what our Government is doing in our name… If there’s a criticsm to be made today, it’s that the press isn’t doing enough to put the pressure on the government to provide information.”

“They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety”. – Ben Franklin
April 13th, 2006 at 10:58 pmDaughter Of Jesus,
I’d really like to know where the liberal media was when PNAC was taking over our government.
And Randy, you have been fooled into believing that the current administration consists of something other than the most anti-american group of people on the planet. Unless you define america as the wealthiest 1%.
April 13th, 2006 at 10:58 pmWhat’s with the four plus year delay in the “release” of the tape? Since the debris trail from the plane was five miles long (impossible if the plane had crashed rather than exploded in midair) I guess they had a little trouble finding the cockpit recorder. Or maybe they’re so incompetent, it took them that long to manufacture this spurious nonsense.
April 14th, 2006 at 3:15 amSince the debris trail from the plane was five miles long (impossible if the plane had crashed rather than exploded in midair)
Since I am assuming you are a member of the FAA here or some form of engineer dealing with heavy passanger jets, I have a couple of questions (Based on the impossible claim).
How long is the debris field typically when an experienced pilot is trying to slow an aircraft of that size and do an “Emergency Landing” in a field?
What would the debris field be if a cockpit was trying to be taken over and a jet of that size had the throttle all the way up by force?
At what altitude would a plane have to explode to make a 5 mile debris field?
Please keep in mind the Columbia explosion in mid air.
The altitude of Columbia at Nacogdoches is determined to be 8,897 ~ 8,900 Ft. (What altitude did you figure the plane was impacted by the missle from the U.S Military aircrafts at?)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbia_Shuttle_accident
At 8:58:20 a.m. (EI+851), traveling at 209,800 feet (64 km) and Mach 19.5, Columbia crossed from New Mexico into Texas
More than 2,000 debris fields, as well as human remains, were found in sparsely populated areas southeast of Dallas from Nacogdoches in East Texas, where a lot of debris fell, to western Louisiana and the southwestern counties of Arkansas.
The Total Length: 250 miles
April 14th, 2006 at 4:02 amHILARIOUS, and don’t give me that ‘martyr’ nonsense.
Those passengers never knew what hit them.
When the fighter pilot landed, he said: “I hear we splashed a heavy over Pennsylvannia.” The other guy says, “We were on full-burner the whole way in.” That would be about 1,400 mph faster than the NORAD timeline.
The razorblade LIE was from the Pentagon “plane”, phoned in by Ted Oson’s wife who said she dind’t have a credit card to call with. And no other calls came off that flight, even though she said that the terrorists had told them they were going to die so call their families.
Bush hid behind our children while his treason went forward. That’s his speed.
Those victims on those flights are Bush’s fault, the start of his capital crimes.
April 14th, 2006 at 4:45 amNo doubt in my mind that this “tape” is manufactured by the cons.Last year there was a huge announcement made by the cell phone companies that it was now possible to make in flight calls, the technology did not exist in 2001.It’s funny how you never hear from the families of the passengers who were on the planes which crashed on that day,you hear plenty from the families of those who died at WTC(and the first responders who continue to die from their exposure to whatever nasty shit that was used to blow up those buildings),but the passengers families seem to be content with whatever they got from their deals.911 was a tragedy.bin Laden denied involvement then he died that December. The government knows this why do you think they gave up their search?Massoui is completely nuts, even if he wasn’t before he is now after the interogaters have gotten to him.Remember SirhanSirhan, the Palestinian who was convicted of RFK’s murder? He had no recollection of the event, but the Kennedy’s were down on Israel about their nuclear arsenal, don’t rule out the mind control tactics. After all this administration has put us through you cannot possibly trust anything they say.
