Again – it takes two. There’s a reason there are two people in a marriage. It takes the input, support and efforts of both people. And the ones who stay married are partners – by what ever terms the two of them decide. Maybe it is a submissive wife and dominant husband, or maybe it’s the opposite – so long as it works for those two people. It’s their decision. I guess if you look at the divorce rates, the declining number of marriages and children and then look at the “average” kid these days one could say most women don’t hold marriage and family in very high regard. It’s too bad. It’s really the only thing they can possibly be excellent at.

Whao, you can’t blame only women for this. In EVERY relationship between two adults, there are two people involved. Maybe you got a bad deal. But there are women who get married and their husband turns into a lazy slob. It works on both sides of the fence.

But what I’m saying that you seem to be missing is that things that are obligations are burdens, and burdens are not a lot of fun. If instead marriage is seen as a partnership without pressures from society to be married, I would wager that the divorce rate would drop.

Uh…that was one of my better little skits. OK I dressed it up a bit. There was no girlfriend, the lady was going to shoot me. It just sounded more redneck the other way.

Although I wish I could forget, I remember :) You made a very case. I no longer doubt that he is a transgender man who spends his time foolishly rather than positively counciling or helping other transgendered people. He could be devoting this energy into something positive, but he instead chooses anger, animosity and self gratification from insulting others who have what he wants – a uterus. To be sympathetic to this behavior would only be codependent to it.

Another reason I would like to add is her/his/its frequent reference to you as a “spinster.” With all the lifestyle choices available today, do you know any other woman supposedly in her 30s (”a tad older than 34″) or even 40s who call unmarried women in their 30s, 40s or even 50s with successful careers “spinsters?” I don’t.

I haven’t heard the word in a while. By definition, it’s an 80 year old woman living alone who never married or had children and hates others who did. Not even remotely close to who I am. I wasn’t raised to have marriage as a goal. My father watched his mother go through 3 abusive marriages, and he did everything he could to instill a sense of independence in me so that I’d get married when I was ready and not because I needed some man’s paycheck to support me. I’m thankful for that. It saved me the heartache of a divorce. And it’s funny how many divorced women tell me that :).

The last time I can even remember seeing “spinster” written out was when a Japanese woman a few decades ago asked me to look over and correct, if necessary, her application for some summer study program in the US. In the column “Marital Status” she had written “None, spinster.” After chuckling a bit, I explained to her that at all of 23, she was hardly a “spinster” by any standards.

That’s funny and yet sad all at the same time. Sad that cultures still label women by marital status and not accomplishments. I used to work with a woman from Japan a few yeas ago who speficially left Japan to get away from the demeaning way women are treated in the business world there. She said that the first day of work, right out of college, the men and women were divided into groups. And while the men were taught business strategies, the women were taught how to put on make-up and pour tea. She’s been gone 10 years now and when I saw her a few months ago, she hadn’t yet returned to visit. I think she didn’t want to risk getting stuck over there until after her greencard had been approved. Can’t say I blame her.

Au contraire, that’s exactly what a lie is. If you say “I did X”, and then say “I have never done or claimed to have done X”, either the confession or the denial is a lie. Either way, it is a lie. You are a fake and a liar. Olé!

In my opinion the satanic urge to kill the Jews is once again gaining strength and this time it has a solid base in the USA through the Transnational Progressive movement (Filthy Left) who internationally is closely allied with the fanatics in the Muslim world.
