(In my best Paul Gleason voice from the film ‘Breaking Away’) ….. Refund?…..REFUND???

  2. Spudge_Boy says:

Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife Lynne reported a significantly higher adjusted gross income, largely due to exercising stock options.

Did the “liberal” media bother to say “Haliburton stock options.”

Jeebus, why don’t these guys do their jobs?

  3. beavercleaver says:

It may be instructive to note that the V.P. paid $75,560 to churches last year. The price of get outa hell, as announced by his higher power has been seasonally adjusted upward…while the qualifications to be a member of the ruling elite have been significantly lowered. He’s still goin’ to hell.

#3 ONLY $75,560 to churches last year? That won’t get him out of hell–at least 10 percent gets you out of hell. God is watching…

  6. Wisco says:

Suck the national coffers dry and score a sweet tax refund on top of it.

What a sweet racket that must be – too bad you have to be soulless to get the gig.

  8. trueblue says:

How many years would the average person have to work in order to make what the Dark Lord has comin’ to him in the form of a refund?

    Just wondering….

I wonder if he shall live long enough to spend his lust of evil

  10. trueblue says:

    well, 1,900,000. / 50,000.(yr) = 38 years. GROSS

    1,900,000. / 40,000 = 47.5 years. Again, GROSS

To make the freaking refund amount of this a$$hole.

  11. SiriusA says:

Hey — this is a deceptive thread. I hate them as much as the next guy but if you read the article they paid in over $2 million in advance taxes. They’re really only getting their own money back. If you and I had $1.9 million on hand we, too, could give it to the IRS over the course of the year and end up with such a large refund.

I’m not saying he’s a crook, I’m only saying that bouncing around a headline like “$1.9 mill tax refund to Cheney” is really horse-pucky and beneath us.

There’s plenty to be angry about. This really doesn’t rank.

    Correct me if I’m wrong.

  12. AvengingAngel says:

You can buy a lot of ammunition for $1.9 million…

    SiriusA~
Just take to account money value…do you really think that this egotistical, hate-filled, soul-less sociopathic pathetically inept individual should be worth $8.82M. annually?
Come on man, fascits ownership society has some boundaries doesn’t it? Have you no decency sir…at long last, have you decency?

  14. James says:

It’s an issue that centers on their gifts to charity that were enabled by the exercising of stock options. They paid tax on those options when exercised and then received a refund thanks to the tax code for overpaying.

When I first saw it on CNN I was a little curious but the refund is normal and legal. Whether he deserves the money in the first place, let alone his position, is another matter:)

  15. banana says:

if he had any “heart” he would donate it to victims of gunshot wounds

  16. Stogie says:

Since he’s been in office, my hourly wage has dropped by $10 an hour, and I had to PAY $1200 this year. Refund? What f’n refund?

  17. Tundra says:

    http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/04/14/bush.taxes.ap/index.html

The Cheneys reported adjusted gross income of nearly $8.82 million, which was largely the result of exercising stock options that had been set aside in 2001 for charity.

The Cheneys donated just under $6.87 million to charity from the stock options and royalties from Mrs. Cheney’s books. That left about $1.9 million in income on which the Cheney’s owed $529,636 in taxes.

Wait a minute, wait a goddamn minute.

He paid 1.9 million in advance taxes, and then got a 1.9 million refund?

That means that shooter and his gay wife did not pay any income taxes.

That’s right Paul, I saw that right off to, yah I did. No matter. The point should not be how much blood money this evil sob has raked in, it should be how do we get his evil ass out of our white house, now whore house before they blow up another country or put us all in jail because we believe in our constitution and civil rights…..Blessings

Lee R. Raymond is the former Chairman and CEO of Exxon Mobil. He was one of the Chairmen who testified before the criminal TRAITOR Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens’ Energy Committee, who all lied to that committee- but because Stevens REFUSED to have them sworn-in got away with a felony. The New York Times now tells us of Mr. Raymond’s reward for GOUGING the American people:

“Mr. Raymond, who retired in December, was compensated more than $686 million from 1993 to 2005, according to an analysis done for The New York Times by Brian Foley, an independent compensation consultant. That is $144,573 for each day he spent leading Exxon’s “God pod,” as the executive suite at the company’s headquarters in Irving, Tex., is known.”

    -NYT-

…the rats are beginning to ride off into the sunset with their ill-gotten gains

…and the dumb a*s American people bicker about immigration and same-sex marriage, and fret about Bushiva’s scary boogeyman- “a nucular (sic) Iran”…

    …What a criminal country/government!

    …What a sh*t-for- brains electorate!

  25. Paul R says:

First off stop all of your whining. I beleive WE all should get as much of our money out of the govt.. You all rail against Bush and his govt but you want to FINANCE it by letting them take your tax dollar. Join the under ground market. Work off the books. Pay only Cash. Never run up credit debit. Why let the govt get one little PENNY of your money? I know how I want my money spent, by me. Why finance a war? Why finance a congress that spends money on programs that benefit only them. Do you think Cheney wants to fund the govt? I gotta go with him on this one

  26. Stashu says:

    #25

Like it matters if they have our tax money to fund anything…they just keep ratcheting up the national debt to pay for anything they want.

  27. doug says:

Newsflash: Cheney’s donates millions to charity; Liberals outraged.

    From the article:

They reported adjusted gross income of nearly $8.82 million, which was largely the result of exercising stock options that had been set aside in 2001 for charity.

They had already paid taxes on money that was donated to charity. Hence, those taxes were returned.

    No good deed goes unpunished.
