Outed former CIA operative Valerie Plame, along with husband Joseph Wilson, will be guests of ABC News at this year’s White House Correspondents Dinner, to be held April 29 at the Washington Hilton. “It is unlikely she will be seated next to [Robert] Novak, but perhaps [President] Bush may have a good view of her from the dais.”
For all the latest PlameGate news, legal filings, timelines, statutes and other key materials, see:

The name Hilton says it all. This is truly political pornography.
April 19th, 2006 at 10:35 pmCan’t you just imagine her standing up in the middle of the event and ripping Bush a new one?
April 19th, 2006 at 10:35 pmBush would cower from meeting her. Just like he avoided meeting Hugo Chavez in Argentina. When push comes to shove and we find out that Decider McPudbulge is a grade A pussy.

April 19th, 2006 at 10:50 pmWill Bush be drinking creme brulee? If so, perhaps we can get Ann Coulter an invitation.
In case you’re tuning in late, my last post is my take on the paradigm shift that I’ve detected between then and now.
April 19th, 2006 at 10:50 pmIf Valerie Plame is anything like Sydney Bristow, watch out. Bush could get his ass whipped.
April 19th, 2006 at 11:31 pmOf course, I’d much like to see Wilson and Plame confront Robert Novak and just beat the shit out of him.

That would be funny wouldn’t it? If the Dinner turned into a big food fight? Some Kind of weird war of the Roses Scenario?
April 19th, 2006 at 11:49 pmImagine;
Cynthia Mckinney Assaulted a DHS guard with a plastic cup of jello after the guard accosted her at the salad bar for sticking her nose under the sneeze guard. The DHS guard, a Brave Patriot who guarded the Salad bar lest a Terrorist Poison it.
Oddly a republican and a deomcrat had the Nads to actually stand up and throw something at both of the Misbehaved Adults, Hence forth Paul Wolfowitz declared that Food was a WMDm and Rummy instigated an attack plan by turning over a table and rallying his troops. Bush and Cheney immediately took cover, Jeff Gannon Appeared form nowwhere and threw his body on top of the Presidents, to save him from something, I think it was a Banana, Anyway by this Time MCain was screaming and turning Red, Armitage went Vietnam and set up an ambush attack on the ‘Mcnamaras’, the slide rule Chicken Hawks found themselves surrounded.
Cheney being Wise offered them Salad oil. Bush Offered 0 Calorie Evil, not good enough! The battle raged on for some time before the FOX security Team showed up with some kind of a list of dirty underwear………..
This should be a real shindig.Let’s see who backs out.
April 20th, 2006 at 12:17 amShe wasn’t an undercover agent. And even if she was, the President is the President and he can disclose whatever he wants to.
As for the disdain for Novak, I guarantee this blog would be the first place similar information would appear if you guys felt it would hurt a Conservative. Let’s not blame the messenger.
April 20th, 2006 at 6:16 amCstorms, Scooter Leaky still lied to investigators. I’ll give you every dime the Fitz team spends if you give me every dime the Starr team spent. Deal. I think it is a great tactic to come on a thread and paint the whole thread and Blog with a single cast based the pronouncements of anonymous comments. But in the long run you’ll just be frustrated by the endless supply of facts to counter ovelyrbroad comments. Please feel free to support any of your ideas here with links if you can it helps us all grow with the truth. Welcome.
April 20th, 2006 at 7:02 amCstorms, you have GOT to be kidding me. “She wasn’t an undercover agent. And even if she was, the President is the President and he can disclose whatever he wants to.” Keep denying reality, bud–and no the President CANNOT carte blanche “disclose whatever he wants to.” In a system based upon rule of law, he is subject to our laws. Dimwit.
April 20th, 2006 at 7:32 amBush will probably joke about how Brewster-Jennings was a stupid name for a business anyway.

Wrong and wrong. For the first claim, maybe Judd can point out the page on this site where all that’s carefully refuted–with documentation. For the second, let’s remember that it was not “disclosed,” it was intentionally and secretly leaked. If it was such an important and meritous disclosure, why did the WH try hard to have it said without saying it themselves? Let’s also remember that what was disclosed was such a selective excerpt and framing of the NIE as to change its meaning. Finally, the whole point was to discredit a critic who was right and they knew it. So you have a president who secretly spread lies against a whistleblower to defend his landgrab war.
This is the guy who said he’d return honesty and integrity to the White House. Anybody who voted for him should be ashamed, and by the looks of the polls, about half of them are.

And the right complains about our intelligence agencies failing. Well, how great a recruiting tool do you think this is: “Join the CIA. We’ll expose your cover when it’s politically advantagous to us just because we can!”
Makes me want to sign up.
April 20th, 2006 at 9:23 amAnybody remember the classic Star Trek episode where Frank Gorshin played an alien who was black on one side and white on the other, and he had an “arch-enemy” who was similarly tinted, but the sides were reversed, but they were terrible enemies and would always wind up grappling with one another in some kind of posterized quantum broom closet and their fighting would threaten to tear the whole universe apart?
Just wondering if anybody remembers that episode.

Just a couple of questions and a few comments.
Do you feel comfortable with a President having absolute power? Do you think it’s OK to just trash the Constitution? Why do you think the Founding Fathers put limitations on the President’s power?
As for Novak — “don’t blame the messenger” — hell yes I will blame the messenger. From a story on CNN.com:
In his column, Novak attributed the information about Plame’s involvement in Wilson’s trip to Africa to two unnamed senior administration officials.
“They asked me not to use her name, but never indicated it would endanger her or anybody else. According to a confidential source at the CIA, Mrs. Wilson was an analyst, not a spy, not a covert operative and not in charge of undercover operators,” Novak said.
Source: http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/09/29/novak.cia/index.html
Not only did the two senior administraion officials ask him not to use her name, the CIA also advised him not to use her name.
Novak’s excuse? The CIA made a “very weak request” to not use her name.
Let me explain it to you in plain English: 3 people either asked or suggested that Novak not use Valerie’s name. So what did the idiot do? He published her name.
Oh…and one more thing…if leaking her name was “no big deal” and there was “no harm to be done,” why do you think the administration shopped her name around to 6 journalists before they found one they could count on to publish her name?
“…what we’ve now learned is the number of journalists the two administration leakers tried the Wilson-Plame story out on before striking hot with Novak (six).”
Source: http://www.slate.com/id/2089017/
Sheesh.
April 20th, 2006 at 9:53 amif leaking her name was “no big deal†and there was “no harm to be done,â€
not to mention her co-workers and other covert people, brewster jennings and all ties, very important and necessary information about NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION – all blown, some probably even dead…
but hey, the boys got their fucking war and oil…
April 20th, 2006 at 10:02 amWC, you have hit the nail on the head with the part about a very weak request made by the CIA. Why was their answer a weak no, instead of a Hell no and BTW we’ll have the Justice Dept. in your office in 2 seconds? I don’t see how this is a gray area.
April 20th, 2006 at 10:23 am[...] Bush, Novak, Plame & Wilson In The Same Room. “Will Valerie Plame be the talk of this year’s White House Correspondents Dinner? E&P has confirmed that she is slated to attend this year’s gala, along with her husband Joseph Wilson and several other notable non-journalist guests, such as Alex Trebek and Ben Rothlisberger, according to organizers.” (via) [...]
April 20th, 2006 at 10:51 amPlame was a WMD Manager. She was in Who’s Who In America since the 90’s. She drove into her desk job at Langley, something an undercover operative would never do. She was outed by Aldrich Aimes in the 90’s. She made donations to Al Gore using her name and Brewster Jennings. Worst of all, that lying idiot Joe Wilson brought attention to her and even told Don Imus in a September 2003 interview that they were in no danger or fear for their lives when his wife’s name begin appearing in the news. So much for the undercover operative myth.
Keep on lying thinkparanoid.
April 20th, 2006 at 10:59 amFly-man:
I pondered about the “weak request” as well. Two obvious possiblilities:
1. The request was indeed weak (which raised the question, how exactly did the CIA official “word” the request?). Was it more of a suggestion? It could take on any number of forms: “I suggest you do not use her name” or “It would not be wise to publish her name” or anything along those lines. I don’t recall any reports about this CIA official coming forward to deny or affirm Novak’s take on it, so we may never know.
2. Novak is simply saying that it was a weak request to cover his butt. Again, since we don’t have the other side of the conversation, we don’t really know.
Either way, in CNN’s article Novak seems pretty clear on the administration’s request: “They asked me not to use her name…” To me, that’s pretty straightforward. On the other hand, I feel quite confident in saying that the two administration officials knew very well that Novak couldn’t keep his mouth shut, and that’s why they told him about Valerie. They knew he would publish it. By telling him not to use her name, they were in effect daring him.

April 20th, 2006 at 11:06 amWhich one? None of them.
April 20th, 2006 at 11:13 amThey are all true #26. Go ahead. Try to debunk them.
April 20th, 2006 at 11:21 am#27
Wrong choice of words. Let me try again:
Plame was a WMD Manager.
And…?
She was in Who’s Who In America since the 90’s.
And this 100% absolutely disproves her covert status how?
She drove into her desk job at Langley, something an undercover operative would never do.
You have proof of this? Sources, please.
She was outed by Aldrich Aimes in the 90’s.
Source(s)?
She made donations to Al Gore using her name and Brewster Jennings.
So?? It’s highly unlikely that anyone of any importance would make the effort to see which candidate Valerie was donating to. Besides that, do you really think that someone could ascertain that she was covert by reading this information? Where is the connection between Brewster Jennings and the CIA simply by reading about her donation on a Web site?
Worst of all, that lying idiot Joe Wilson brought attention to her and even told Don Imus in a September 2003 interview that they were in no danger or fear for their lives when his wife’s name begin appearing in the news.
Do you have a link to a recording or transcript, so that we can see the entire interview and confirm Wilson’s comments are not taken out of context?
One more question for you…why did the CIA request an investigation by the Justice Department if there was no harm or implications to the White House leaking her name?
April 20th, 2006 at 11:39 am#19 Yeah, I remember that episode. It was one of the few original Star Trek episodes I actually liked. The ending was reflective of what will happen if both sides don’t get together and overthrow a dictator like the Chimp King.
Anyone who thinks that Valerie Plame was not an undercover agent thinks that everything that Bush says is true. That’s like saying Tom Cruise knows more about the history of psychiatry than Brooke Shields.
April 20th, 2006 at 11:55 amJIMBO,
“That’s like saying Tom Cruise knows more about the history of psychiatry than Brooke Shields.”
But … but … but … Tom Cruise MUST be right because he is more FAMOUS than Brooke Shields. Right?
;^)
April 20th, 2006 at 12:01 pm#24 –
Plame was a WMD Manager.
Her actual title with Brewster Jennings was as an “energy analyst” but, yes, she was the head of a department of spies whose primary responsibilities included the gathering of information regarding WMD (usefull information to have given what’s happening in Iran, no?)
She was in Who’s Who In America since the 90’s.
So what? She was listed as an energy analyst with Brewster Jennings & Associates. NOBODY knew she was a CIA agent (or the BJ&A was a CIA front) until Novak outed her.
She drove into her desk job at Langley, something an undercover operative would never do.
WRONG! There are literally thousands of people that work at Langley every day that have duties other than those officially listed. She was an energy analyst who was on loan to the CIA as far as the whole world was concerned once again, until Novak outed her.
She was outed by Aldrich Aimes in the 90’s.
It was suspected that Aldrich Ames may have known her true role in the agency but it was never confirmed that said information was passed to anyone. This is the reason she was brought back to Langley to coordinate Brewster Jennings’ intelligence gathering capabilities.
She made donations to Al Gore using her name and Brewster Jennings.
Once again, NOBODY knew that she or Brewster Jennings and Associates were affiliated with the CIA until Novak outed her. Brewster Jennings and Associates, as far as the world knew (prior to Novak’s article) was just an energy company.
Worst of all, that lying idiot Joe Wilson brought attention to her and even told Don Imus in a September 2003 interview that they were in no danger or fear for their lives when his wife’s name begin appearing in the news.
Do you have a link to back this up? Joe Wilson is neither a liar or an idiot. He is a career diplomat with impecable credentials and a history of serving his country with distinction. George H.W. Bush even lauded him for his efforts as acting Ambassador to Iraq during the first gulf war.
So much for the undercover operative myth.
Do you really think the CIA would have referred the case to the Department of Justice if they didn’t believe that a breach of security had occurred? If you believe that, I’ve got some ocean-front property in Ohio for cheap. Or perhaps, you’re in the market for a bridge?
Keep on lying thinkparanoid.
When you can present actual salient facts to back up your wild assertions than, perhaps (I doubt it though) someone will take you seriously. What it comes down to is the fact that the Executive Branch violated national security and outed an intelligence agent of the United States at a time of war. In many circles (particularly those encapsulated by the Intelligence Identity Protection Act and the Espionage Act), that is known as treason.
April 20th, 2006 at 12:51 pmRemember why the Treasongate investigation into the exposure of Ms. Wilson began? Becasue The CIA requested an investigation by The Justice Dept. of the exposure of their covert agent. They don’t request investigations of the outing of the folks that cut the grass at Langley, I’m guessing.
April 20th, 2006 at 2:26 pmBush may have a good view of Valerie? She’s gorgeous and he’ll be leering and grinding his jaw. Joe might pop him. Could be fun.
(If you watched the Kennedy Ceter Honors program from last December (?), the camera caught a view of our dear leader lusting over one of the beautiful, scantily-clad Beyonce. Disgusting.)
