If Fox station aka Bush station reports 33% you must know that it is really in the
10 or 20 mark. All the fired/resigned employees of the Bush Administration will go to Fox as payment to keep them from talking to Fitzgerald. Scotty will have to tell a few more lies before he leaves. The way he was fired and outed by Bush Scotty could never get a job on the outside Bush made sure of that.
Lets not rejoice and do the hat dance until Monkey Boy’s approval rating is 3 point 3 percent – where it should be. Any bets on when Monkey Boy is in the mid-20s?? How low were Tricky Dick’s numbers when he finally waved goodbye from the steps of Helicopter One on that glorious August 8 day in 1974??
Not even FauxNews’ (faux) polls will give Pres Bush a decent approval rating.
Still, what are those 33% thinking… oh, they’re not, you say? That explains it.
Tina Fey said it best:
“A new poll shows that 66% of Americans think President Bush is doing a poor job on the War in Iraq. And the remaining 34% think Adam and Eve rode dinosaurs to church.”
#13. Bush is not a good Christian. He SAYS he’s a good Christian, but that doesn’t make it so. He basically ignores the poor in the U.S. while channeling tax money to his rich friends — the opposite of what Jesus taught.
Well, if Valerie Plame is fair game, as Karl Rove once said, so is Tony Snow. It appears that he may be heading into the job of being the mouthpiece of the Bush Administration, a job he’ll be quite familiar with and comfortable in considering his employment at Fox News.
So he’s a good Christian. Well isn’t that wonderful. And that is supposed to protect him from public opinion and judgements of his abilities how???
Do not know how the question was phrased, but I read an LA Times poll that suggested over 50% of the public believed that God created man and woman in their present form as opposed to people evolving from lower life forms without God’s intervention or people evolved from lower life forms as God directed. In other words something over half the folks polled do not believe in evolutuion. To think that something like a third of those people have now given up on Dumbya shows just how low 33% really is.
So, as a psychologist, I am compelled to ask: what is it that seems to have motivated such people to have become so depraved, to have chosen a style of life so opposed to everything that Jesus taught? What is it that has led fundamentalists to become such a mean-spirited gathering of folks? What is it that such people have in common, that which might serve to explain why they have led such horrid lives?
I read an article that stated when the Presidents Bush and Hu met for a photo-op and softball interview a Chinese woman yelled out “Stop the torture and killing” disrupting the event. I am just wondering to which President she was yelling it to. Any help?
#22: Don’t you know Good Christians can be forgiven for all their sins. How do you think GBush would get by with sinning so much without being a Good Christian?
The bushies find themselves on the wrong side of history. It’s hard to admit wrong .
Same attitude as any rightgeous dogma , including those on the extreme left or right , taliban or el quaida ,
Who are the 33%? If you listen to the bushites who call into Washinton Journal on C-span, you find out that like RayFromGA, they believe a war-mongering, black-oil trust-fund liar is a good christian; they still believe that the 9/11 terrorists were born in Iraq; that by some miracle of economic voodoo, massive back-breaking deficits and irrational tax cuts are great for the economy; and that America has ‘the best healthcare system in the world“.
If it was Clinton and Tony Snow was hosting Faux News, he’s ask when The Clenis™ was going to resign since he didn’t have the trust of the American people.
Every part of this, no matter what it is, quickly becomes a mind-swell. No matter what surfaces, it’s almost as overnight, there are reams of issues, questions, lies, spinning and what not. You may not know it, but there are books FILLED with Bush’s lies, criminal activities and more. When is it going to end?
We’re at 33% now….what number does he have to hit before FINALLY something is done? There were attempts to Impeach him, but that seems to be conveniently hung-up somewhere. Interesting huh?
I was in a family for more than 26 years who is part of this. There’s a lot more than just corruption that hasn’t surfaced yet. If just corruption has caused this stir, wait till when everything else surfaces. Believe me, life will be very different when that happens, just wait and see!
Unfortunately Bush isn’t the only one involved as there are others. That’s why it’s been difficult to eliminate the problems we’ve been seeing with each Administration. And be aware that they are well organized too, controlling to steal elections is only a small part of what they are involved in.
Some of the problem is that only a small part of the population actually reads anything about Politics. Plus the good stuff is on the Internet and most everyone reads mainstream news which is filtered. But the Internet is changing that around and this is one reason why Corporate America is trying to change it around. There’s been more than enough Indictments to start to explain what is really happening, so I shouldn’t have to give any detail. Just beware that there are many other criminal activities worse than just corruption that have yet to surface.
Bush needs to go, but there are many others surrounding him that also need to go as well. He’s not the only problem. They also exist in our Military who is also behind wiretapping us. The reason is they need to so they can support and maintain their criminal activities. Again, I know this from being in a criminal family for 26 years who is part of this. Just wait as there is a lot more yet to surface! When the rest surfaces, I expect the percentage to drop to ZERO!
How can ‘christians’ support George Bush when he as govenor executed more prisoners than any other govenor? did you catch his reaction and unspeakable derision when talking about Karla Faye’s begging for mercy?
i think ‘christians’ will have to pay for this when ‘armageddon’ comes around but in the meantime i wish they would get out of my bedroom, start teaching their children ‘real’ things and learn to live with others on this earth!
If Fox new has Bush at a 33% approval rating I can’t wait to see what the REAL polls have to say. He very well could break that 29% Nixon standard any day now. Come on Gallop, Zogby and Pew, show us what you’ve got!
When you vote in Nov, vote absentee (on paper) if you have electronic voting. Take a copy of your ballot before you mail it. There is a desperate and surreal quality to this administration of late. I don’t think they can steal enough votes to turn the tide this time around but why give them the chance.
MegMac #43, I’m with you. For someone who supposedly found Christ and turned his life around, Bush certainly had no empathy for Karla Faye. His ‘imitation’ of her pleas for mercy was despicable and inhuman.
Dianne, #49, you know that they’re going to continue to try to steal votes, and, now that Karl “Turdblossom” Rove will be helping with the 2006 Republican campaigns, it’s going to be even dirtier.
60%, I say 60% approve of the job Condi Rice is doing, however. Now that number has to be a surrogate “approval” for a generic Republican Administration, surely, as her press recently has been the shits. From her disastrous appearance in Birmingham, England, to the joint Baghdad fly-in with Jack Straw, to her recent pathetic Middle East venture, what is there to “approve”, for God’s sake? She is part and parcel of the utterly failed Iraq invasion, the less-than-credible Israel-Palestinian “road map”, her tenure as NSC head was an unmitigated train-wreck. I can only conclude that inasmuch as Rummy, Cheney, Boosh, Rove, all are so loathed by the public, that she gets the default vote.
does anyone know of a chart showing approval ratings for past presidents? it would be interesting to see the ups and downs charted of Bush’s 1st & 2nd terms vs Clinton & Reagan.
#54
This you must read for historical perspective on presidential polls.
Be sure to read Prof Franklin’s abstract on how the failure to keep in mind historical perspective distorts the presentation of polling results, something TP is guilty of. Ignorance, lies and distortion.
Hannity said to a liberal caller that he was glad liberals are now trusting Fox News as fair and balanced.. as opposed to “even the biased FOX NEWS admits this!”
25% of dems think the stock market has stayed the same.
So you’re omitting statistics, eh? So, what’s the definition of “stayed the same”? Within 10%? 1%? 0.0001%? Compared to mutual funds? Bonds? In absolute dollars? Inflation-adjusted dollars? Compared to average growth the last 10 years?
And, while we’re asking for numbers, how’d the Republicans perform? You didn’t mention that, did you? Nor did you cite your source. Shame on you.
What in the Hell are those 33% thinking?!! I’ve got a few of those 33% in my speech class and you can’t tell them shit. Whenever you draw them into the argument about how terrible Bush and his administration has been for America, they just pull the same old comebacks out of their asses:”I think George W. Bush is a great president because he does such a great job fighting terrorism,” or “I think George W. is a very intelligent man.” A pastor from my home town Baptist congregation practically gave Bush a standing ovation. It was just plain disgusting!
These 33% people are so God-damned stupid it is unbelievable. How can George W. Bush still have so much power over so many people? It just doesn’t make sense. Haven’t these people realized that most of their lives have gotten far worse since monkey boy entered office? Don’t they have any common sense? The few that actually have kids in Iraq are the worst of all. You can’t even talk to them. They are sooo afraid that if they criticized the presnit that they might be putting their kids lives in danger.
Conspicuous by their absence in this discussion: I-Right-I and Mighty Aphrodite…
Do they belong to the 2 out of 3 Republicans who continue to approve of Bush’s job thus far, or have they joined the 1 out of 3 Republicans who now disapprove of Bush’s job as Commander-in-Chief?

My source is the Fox poll that can be downloaded from the link provided by thinkprogress. Pay attention.
Once again, the question in the poll is:
“As far as you know, has the US stock market gone up in the last year, gone down, or has it stayed the same?â€
31. As far as you know, has the U.S. stock marlet gone up in the last year, gone down, or has it stayed about the same?
Lying for the cause, eh? I can only assume it’s a lie, because you repeated it when questioned; due diligence and all, you know….
They then proceed to lecture the poll respondents as to the “correct” answer (DJIA “up more than three percent”, and ask if that makes them feel a bit better. You know, they might also have told them that the Exxon CEO was taking a $400M golden handshake and asked if that made a difference in how they felt….
As I pointed out in my links, the DJIA has been for essential purposes pretty much flat in the last year. And both 25% of Republicans and Democrats gave that answer.
You know, JJF, there’s ignorance (and 8% more Democrats said, probably honestly, they didn’t know than did Republicans). Then there’s stoopidity. That would be you, no?
This cretinous president is as about as popular as a crudely cut fart in a downtown elevator. America deserves a breath of fresh air. The moron’s fundamentalist base appeares to be fragmenting; Calvinists are no longer galvanised. The rattle snake handlers have got lead feet and refuse to jump for Jesus George. White House aides have indicated that the paronoid little prick even taps his personal telephone to glory, just in case god tries to pull a swifty on him.
This dumb fuck, ex party animal president is furthur up Shit Creek than Kurtz ever was in the Congo or ‘Nam. The HORROR will be ours unless we relieve him of his office before he orders the nuking of Iran. How many chances does a country give a priveleged screw up before the citizens say:”OH NO YOU DON’T, YOU STUPID PUTZ”?
You’ve always been a passenger, Georgie Boy, you never, ever cut it as our President. Oh, one more thing, son. WE THE PEOPLE ARE COMIN’ TO GETCHA.
This land is our land. It is not a plaything of dynasty Bush.
#69 As I pointed out in my links, the DJIA has been for essential purposes pretty much flat in the last year.
I’m sorry, but the stock market has gone up in the past year. A majority of republicans and independents got it right, a majority of democrats got it wrong including you. That makes you one of the dumbasses.
Just going to ignore the fact you lied, eh? That’s the Republican version of “taking responsibility”, isn’t it?
But the word you ignored is important: “about”.
Then you go on with some s*** about how the Democrats don’t know the market “has gone up”. Sorry, Jack, but given a choice of “about the same”, that’s a perfectly reasonable answer, particularly considering the comparison of the Clinton years with the last 5. Hard to dispute that under Clinton. the DJIA soared, while under Dubya, over the last five years, the market’s pretty much stayed even. Even on the timescale of the five-year view, the last year has been relatively flat. So, the conclusion “about the same” is harldy wrong. You just don’t know, Jack….
Not to mention, you’re a dishonest cur. So we can take your “dumbass” comment with the solemnity it deserves.
BTW, in this statement:
A majority of republicans and independents got it right, a majority of democrats got it wrong including you.
you are once again lying. You have no idea what I would have said if asked the question asked (or if asked the question you claim was asked). Not to mention that the answer “Don’t know” is hardly incorrect, and the “about the same” is quite arguably accurate (and you’re a dumbs*** to assert that it is not).
You know, you can argue tons about the relative intelligence of nameless and faceless groups of people based on one question from an opinion poll (which sounds like the shortest “IQ” test I’ve ever heard of), but we can judge a fair bit more accurately both the intelligence and the character of just the two correspondents here based on the repartee here. Sorry, you lose.
BTW, Questions #32, #34, #36, and #37 are a kind of “push-poll” question.
Here’s mine:
If you knew that Dubya has lied repeatedly about many subjects, some under oath, and even about such important things as the circumstances of the war in Iraq, if you knew that pretty much every venture, both business and governmental, he has engaged in has resulted in bankrupcy or huge deficits, if you knew that his administration has had the first indictment of a high official in over a century, if you knew that he has admitted to violating the FISA wiretap laws, if you knew that he was friends with Kenny Lay, Jack Abramoff, and Ahmed Chalabi and has met them many times, but now says he has never heard of them and/or doesn’t know them, and if you knew that his party is pretty much the slimiest party ever, would that change how you felt about his performance and about him personally?
Hey dumbass, the stock market has gone up in the past year. That was the question in the poll.
Nope. You’re a liar. See your post #68 and my post #69. The proof is there for all to see … except for the wilfully blind and the disingenuous (which seems to be that 33% in the thread head). Which are you?
Hey Dumbass,
You know I was refering to question 31. That question was not a push poll question. Beating on the straw man is a typical tactic for you libs. That’s fine if you want to whine about other questions that came later in the poll. And keep on propping up red herrings. It doesn’t change the fact that most democrats think the stock market has gone down in the past year.
You realize you are arguing with someone who probably has auto-contempt for you on account of that fancy-pants “furrin’” sounding name of yours.
In other words, no amount of logic will work because the “con-troll” definition of “logic” is: “whatever my fat gut tells me.” And since there is very little active brain inside that mostly-solid skull, nothing kicks in to counteract the spittle-emitting rage issuing from that fat rumbling gut.
Just my 2c. Oh wait, though, it’s probably 4c cuz the stock market done gone up cuz of the brilliant leadership of the Bush administration.
Ok…. I tried to resist, but I am weak… JJF, the Stock Markert goes both UP and DOWN, EVERY DAY IT IS OPEN!!!! There, I feel better. And FYI, alot of the activity is based on FEAR, not great company performance. But BushCo is all about “feeding the fear”, where would they be without it? Halliburton is having another great year…
Hey Dumbass,
You know I was refering to question 31.
Hey, you clueless berk, I knowyou were referring to that question. In fact, I even quoted it (correctly n my case, I might add).
Clue for you (as if it would do any good): I was talking about different questions, and for another reason. Deal with it.
That question was not a push poll question.
Never said it was. I said that #32, #34, #36, and #37 were. Are you hard of reading?
It doesn’t change the fact that most democrats think the stock market has gone down in the past year
That newfangled “fuzzy math” fer ya: “14%” is “most”. No wonder you Republicans (and the b***sucking Republican sycophants) are running the debt to stratospheric levels and the country into the toilet.
Here is President Bush’s legacy. Here’s my post on the innocents at Guantanamo.
April 20th, 2006 at 2:50 pmStill way too high. I cant imagine one third of nation is so out of touch.
April 20th, 2006 at 2:51 pmWow, it actually dropped below 37%!
So, the lowest approval rating in history was Nixon’s 29%. We are just 4 clicks away to record time. Maybe Bush is pushing for 28% to beat the tie.
April 20th, 2006 at 2:54 pmWow Fox News poll at that…I wonder if their ratings are down as well…..
Will Fox spin this like they spin the unemployment rate….
95 PERCENT OF THE COUNTRY IS EMPLOYED!!!!
are we gonna get
66 PERCENT OF THE COUNTRY DISAPPROVES OF BUSH!!!!
I doubt it…..

Dianne, #49, you know that they’re going to continue to try to steal votes, and, now that Karl “Turdblossom” Rove will be helping with the 2006 Republican campaigns, it’s going to be even dirtier.
April 20th, 2006 at 5:26 pm60%, I say 60% approve of the job Condi Rice is doing, however.
April 20th, 2006 at 6:01 pm#47 – I agree. Who the frick are these people… Zell Miller’s extended family? Diebold’s phantom bushbots?
Beats me.
April 20th, 2006 at 6:40 pmdoes anyone know of a chart showing approval ratings for past presidents? it would be interesting to see the ups and downs charted of Bush’s 1st & 2nd terms vs Clinton & Reagan.
April 20th, 2006 at 7:08 pm#47 Those 11% are so cynical they simply enjoy watching the train wreck.
April 20th, 2006 at 7:35 pmThis is great. Show how stupid democrats are.
“As far as you know, has the US stock market gone up in the last year, gone down, or has it stayed the same?”
Only 36% of democrats even realize the stock market has gone up. 14% think it has gone down. 24% don’t know. What a bunch of dumbasses!
April 20th, 2006 at 7:49 pm#54
This you must read for historical perspective on presidential polls.
Be sure to read Prof Franklin’s abstract on how the failure to keep in mind historical perspective distorts the presentation of polling results, something TP is guilty of. Ignorance, lies and distortion.

April 20th, 2006 at 8:12 pm25% of dems think the stock market has stayed the same.
On the Republican curve…..let’s see…. that ah….. works out to an A-. Very nice job!
April 20th, 2006 at 9:21 pmHannity said to a liberal caller that he was glad liberals are now trusting Fox News as fair and balanced.. as opposed to “even the biased FOX NEWS admits this!”
April 20th, 2006 at 9:26 pm#59:
25% of dems think the stock market has stayed the same.
So you’re omitting statistics, eh? So, what’s the definition of “stayed the same”? Within 10%? 1%? 0.0001%? Compared to mutual funds? Bonds? In absolute dollars? Inflation-adjusted dollars? Compared to average growth the last 10 years?
And, while we’re asking for numbers, how’d the Republicans perform? You didn’t mention that, did you? Nor did you cite your source. Shame on you.
Cheers,
April 20th, 2006 at 10:37 pmWhat in the Hell are those 33% thinking?!!
I can’t wait for this friggin nightmare to end.
April 20th, 2006 at 11:31 pmThey weren’t.
April 21st, 2006 at 12:20 amConspicuous by their absence in this discussion: I-Right-I and Mighty Aphrodite…

April 21st, 2006 at 3:38 am“As far as you know, has the US stock market gone up in the last year, gone down, or has it stayed the same?â€
#68:
OIC. Yeah, deep in the PDF (not the article). Only one tiny problem here, JJF. The actual question is (from the document you pointed me in the direction of):
Cheers.
April 21st, 2006 at 8:54 amThis cretinous president is as about as popular as a crudely cut fart in a downtown elevator.
Let’s impeach the lying warmonger now, shall we?

As I pointed out in my links, the DJIA has been for essential purposes pretty much flat in the last year.
I’m sorry, but the stock market has gone up in the past year. A majority of republicans and independents got it right, a majority of democrats got it wrong including you. That makes you one of the dumbasses.
April 21st, 2006 at 10:56 am#71:
Cheers,
April 21st, 2006 at 11:53 amEven on the timescale of the five-year view, the last year has been relatively flat.
Hey dumbass, the stock market has gone up in the past year. That was the question in the poll.
Hard to dispute that under Clinton. the DJIA soared…
What’s that have to do with the past year or the question in the poll? Nothing, dumbass.
April 21st, 2006 at 12:07 pm#71:
See, that’s how it works. ;-)

Cheers,
April 21st, 2006 at 12:13 pmHey Dumbass,
April 21st, 2006 at 2:40 pmYou know I was refering to question 31. That question was not a push poll question. Beating on the straw man is a typical tactic for you libs. That’s fine if you want to whine about other questions that came later in the poll. And keep on propping up red herrings. It doesn’t change the fact that most democrats think the stock market has gone down in the past year.
#76 Actually it is you that like the strawmen, but way to turn that around. You even used ‘red herring.’
April 21st, 2006 at 3:00 pm#75, Arne -
You realize you are arguing with someone who probably has auto-contempt for you on account of that fancy-pants “furrin’” sounding name of yours.
April 21st, 2006 at 6:54 pmOk…. Halliburton is having another great year…
April 22nd, 2006 at 7:51 am#76:
Hey Dumbass,
You know I was refering to question 31.
Hey, you clueless berk, I know you were referring to that question.
