  1. zmark Says:

This is why they demoted Rove,

  2. For Truth Says:

    Watching intently

  3. For Truth Says:

Has the big money and power grab clique been smoked out of their hole?

  4. For Truth Says:

Just remember Karl, keep smiling your ass off no matter what, keep up appearances.

  5. Screw Bush Says:

I fear if they come down on Rove today, we’ll see something spectacular to take media attention off of this. Just how spectacular is a scarry thought given the track record of this band of criminals. I just can’t imagine they’ll leave us to stew all weekend on Rove being a criminal without an attempt at a major diversion.

  6. dumbstruck Says:

’bout time for a terrorist alert…????

  7. Styve Says:

He needs to be detained immediately, when the indictments come down! Is that possible, and how could it be done, to try to limit the damage to this country that he still has up his sleeve!?!?!

    Styve

  8. Zookeeper Says:

But it’s The Note. Anything else…?

  9. Wayne A. Schneider Says:

I remember that when Karl Rove called Matt Cooper to talk about welfare reform (Rove’s story), Rove supposedly told him something and said, “This will all be declassified soon.” Either this statement is an accurate reflection of the facts or it isn’t. If it is not accurate, then forget the rest. If it is accurate, then there is evidence that Karl Rove knowingly revealed classified information to someone not entitled to receive it. So, Karl Rove violated the law. Simple as that.

  10. Pescadero Bill Says:

Wasn’t it always Rove that was behind all the spectacular distractions in the first place?

Has anyone been appointed to the post of Distracter to fill in for Rove?

And finally what will the Preznut do without his “brain”?

    Interesting (and scary) times indeed.

  11. barfly Says:

    Raw Story has more.

  12. buzzbomb Says:

Karl is setting aside his white house duties to focus on the nov. elections. Yeah fucking right!!!!!!! Pig face is going to be indicted. I really think the Plame leak will be the scandal among the thousands of scandals that finally bring down this cabal of criminials. Who the hell would want piggy campaigning for them? Fat head is toxic!!!!

  13. Mary Poppin Says:

Why does this happen on a Friday? Next week the good for nothing congress come back from their vacation. We will have alot of spin on this from the right wing nut.

  14. agua fiero Says:

The diversion away from the Rovian menace might well be the (snicker) “Ethanol Crisis” as gasoline prices are over $4.00 / gallon, and unavailable in some places. Refineries are struggling my A$$…..
Some clues as well may be:
    Where is Dumbya at present?
    Where is Chainee at present?

  15. Goose1 Says:

So when will Bush say he doesn’t recall ever meeting Carl Rove. Sure there may be pictures but he has his picture taken with lots of people.

  16. Blackie Says:

I’m te distracter and I will distract the decider until the detractors have subsided.

  17. John Clavis Says:

Watch out. Rove focusing on the elections means we can expect the nastiest, dirtiest tricks. Rove knows his chances of going to prison increase dramatically if the Dems take over the House. There’s nothing he won’t be willing to try - swiftboating and whisper campaigns, not to mention worse. Calling Democratic “get-out-the-vote” centers to jam their phone lines will look like tiddlywinks compared to this election. Mark my words.

  18. the fly-man Says:

Folks if the VP or the President declassified Valeri Plame’s stautus the only thing Karl’s guilty of is perjury or obstruction of justice or both. Not to be little this but, think about it : If you were one of the other 5 journalists and were told by Karl Rove about anything wouldn’t you have to really consider his motives? What if the only way to check on her status was to call the CIA, like Bob Novak did because he wasn’t afraid of any investigation because he knew she was outed by the VP or POTUS. Bob Woodward had to know of this declasssification thing. Why was he so cavalier on Larry King? Just telling someone she was in Who’s Who wouldn’t be enough. I think Scooter is just covering for his boss. Your thoughts please.

  19. ShamRockNRoll Says:

If the grand jury is meeting right now? Would the indictment come out today and get lost in the weekend, or would it come out on Monday?

  20. WC Says:

Speaking of Rove & elections, yesterday a conservative columnist (national - can’t recall the name) in one of our local papers wrote about McCain’s probable 2008 run. He made reference to the 2000 run and said that McCain’s bid turned sour after he made some negative comments about Jerry Falwell in S. Carolina. What he conveniently left out was the effect of Rove painting him as mentally unstable.

  21. Seixon Says:

    Fitzmas! Fitzmas! Fitzmas!

I sure hope that Shuster and Co. aren’t going to let us down. Kind of like Lawrence O’Donnell and the entire media did back in the end of summer when they tried to nail Rove as “the one” only to hang their head in shame while the case turned over to Libby.

  22. barfly Says:

You don’t think Bush will pardon his architect, his brain, the true decider-in-chief? He will, because Karl knows where ALL the bodies are buried (even the ones Bush wouldn’t dirty his hands with). There is no way Karl will allow himself to go down. He’ll make a deal first; Cheney should definitely watch his back.

  23. Silly Little American Boy Says:

So, if demotion is the precursor to indictment, when the fuck does Bush get sent to timeout and back to Texas Gubner?

  24. Colorado Jyms Says:

I think Pig Face will squeel like the pig that he is if he is indicted. Just like all of the unethical republican scum bags that have been cornered in the last year, he will protect his big fat butt if it means bringing down Bush, Cheney and Rummy. I say the sooner we get these guys cornered the better. I am so tired of watching them crap all over our country, killing our troops and wrecking our name for their political gains.

  25. agua fiero Says:

Chainee needs to at least stay awake…….

  26. barfly Says:

Clean-up on comment 21! Somebody dropped a jar of Republican Freedom Spread and it’s a Gawd-awful mess! Billy Ray! Bring the mop!

  27. GSD Says:

Must be springtime, I can smell the Turdblossoms baking in the sun.

  28. Zimzone Says:

KKKarl KKKan’t KKKover his fat white ass forever!

  29. Spudge_Boy Says:

Kind of like Lawrence O’Donnell and the entire media did back in the end of summer when they tried to nail Rove as “the one” only to hang their head in shame while the case turned over to Libby.

Libby is just a stepping stone. He perjured himself to protect higher ups. Keep dreaming.

  30. Mary Poppin Says:

Why is Old Bushie runnng all over the country and wasting our tax payers money?

He is going to be in California for the weekend. and Cheney is going to be in Indianapolis campaigning.

I hope the Republicans lose big in November so we can impeach Old Bushie and Cheney.

We can not aford them in office for 3 more years. Our country will not be able to take this.

  31. Mark Says:

Do you think Libby said I’m not going down alone and produced something linked directly to Karl?

  32. pablo Says:

shhhhh… keep it down folks. uncle dick get’s cranky if he’s awakened from his nap and all of this excitement is going on!! tee-hee i love the smell of indictment in the afternoon. smells like….. impeachment!

  33. The Witch Says:

Is their meeting different than what’s been going on? Are they deliberating? Do we have any idea?

And 9:30 am THIS morning? When?

  34. Randomfactor Says:

Who’s that? “Turd Blossom”? Never met the guy.

  35. Zimzone Says:

The only one ‘going down’ in the Clinton administration was Monica.
    Wake Up, Dick!
W’s got more people going down than the Titanic

  36. cynicalgirl Says:

The note says that *every* day! The only reason my hopes are up is because Jason Leopold says so.

  37. james risser Says:

why is no one sourcing this to the sidney blumenthal article that appeared before anyone else wherein he opines the exact argument a day before these others????

    fair is fair, no?

  38. turd bloosom Says:

they will never take me alive!!!!

  39. the fly-man Says:

James riser, you mean like Bob Woodward or Judy Miller fair?

  40. jurassicpork Says:

Hmm. Just the day after Rove stepped down as policy development chief, too. Coincidence? I think not.

Btw, for those of you just tuning in, I have Paul Krugman’s latest up.

  41. katy Says:

    YOU GOTTA HEAR THIS!
just heard on randi rhodes show - earlier this week she interviewed the psy.doc. (franks) who wrote a book - bush on the couch (?) - VERY INTERESTING - she will play parts of that interview in “hour 3″ of her show - coming up soon - her show runs 3-7eastern time…
sorry i’ll miss it today, but i heard the original and it was enlightening, to say the least…
yep, bush is psycho - you’ll find out why!
gotta go - have a great weekend all!

  42. Heynow Says:

#24 Ditto… You have hit it right on the head.

here is what i think of judith miller.

no, i just mean that everyone is saying they have a SCOOP and all they have done is read Blumenthal and not noted it.

think progress, i love you, but, you need to realize that sidney had a day before these folks…

    peace.

  44. Kenny Says:

would someone here at TP please tell me who your progressive hope for the future is? all these calls for Bush/Cheney impeachment still makes Dennis Hasert in charge. So who is your favorite for 2008? just a con asking questions.

  45. james risser Says:

russ feingold is the only hope left in american politics.

  46. Prantha Trivedi Says:

If (and it’s a big IF) the grand jury returns an indictment, it will be announced at the very last minute, at the very end of the day today.

The purpose of releasing announcements at the last minute on Fridays is so that any articles written about it in MSM newspapers will not make it to the front page of the Saturday news papers — which are already set-up (Saturday being the one day of the week that newspapers are LEAST read).

So, if the indictment does come down (which I doubt), look for it in the last ten pages of tomorrow’s newspapers.

    –Pran

  47. Kenny Says:

#46 James, seems your the only one with a candidate. I thought I’d be overrun. While I don’t agree with Feingolds politics, Ya gotta admire a politician who beleives in what he says. To many yak out of both sides of their …er…..mouth. thanks for the reply

  48. Berken Says:

Feingold, Warner, and a few governers are lining up as the best candidates. H. Clinton and Gore are hated too much by the Beltway. She is running low profile right now, but every time she speaks in public, the spitting and sneering come out. Same with Al. He’s got ideas and expresses them eloquently, but the consensus at Beltway junior high is snicker and gossip whenever he speaks. You’ll never learn anything about what he actually says unless you go looking for it.

  49. Seixon Says:

Tick tock. It is 9:22PM EST. Guess it’s time to pack away the party balloons and go home folks. Again. That’s what ya get for listening to David Shuster.

  50. one eye buck tooth [X^B Says:

I think you are making too muvh of Rove, he’s as lame as bush and cheney, besides who would believe what Rove Said?

The people here on this Blog have not worried about ROVE for months, yet the Bush Ratings have plummeted, as well as Cheneys.
Really who cares about Rove? He’s been dead [politically] for some time, in case you haven’t noticed BUSH’s ratings have dropped dramatically, ROVE was capped months ago =)

  51. one eye buck tooth [X^B Says:

Center not on the man, but his objectives, and if his agenda is hidden follow the money, and if the money is hidden follow the accomplices, and if the pundits are hidden follow the Editors.

Aye, Truth guides you, does it not? Have not you been succesful without resorting to muckraking or lying? Have you had to cherry pick facts? Have you had to lie to your religion?

No. You have not. Think about that.

  52. Drew Mackenzie Says:

  53. GURU^ Says:

What ‘goods’ does Karl have on George?

  54. Sharon Cox Says:

Good Morning every one, In checking my in mail recieved a post from Truthout yesterday that Condi Rice may be a leaker as well…….Check them out, good site….Blessings

  55. Sharon Cox Says:

Sorry, not enough coffee yet. The site is truthout.org…….Blessings

  56. big papa Says:

    Please God,

    …take a giant sh*t on Karl Rove

…and make it stink so badly that…

…he’ll have no choice but to squeal on Bushiva and L’il Dick…

  57. Seixon Says:

That sound? Ah yes, the sound of the liberals finding out that they’ve been lied to once again.

What to do? Whip up a story about Condi Rice leaking something! Yeah! Forget about that whole story about Rove being indicted! Rice is going to get nailed! Yeah!

Keep your eyes on the prize folks. One day, one day, you’ll get it.

    Or… maybe not.

  58. Seixon Says:

    Ryan,

As soon as Reichwinger like you opens your mouths - it’s assured we’re being lied to… You can’t help yourself, you’re all either too stupid, too deluded or too foolish to do anything other than spread lies…

My ad hominem scale just broke. Keep spinning!

You call a request for testimony in a criminal proceeding ‘whipping up a story’? Wow, you’re a FOOL.

Let’s see how the story turns out, mk? Someone alleged that Rice leaked something, and now it is being followed up. If that wasn’t the case, then why was this alleged? Hmmmm.

Which eye, which prize? And why only one prize or even one criminal case? Small minds (yours) think small thoughts (always). Multiple crimes (this administration) means potentially multiple convictions. You act like if Condi is being investigated then the single investigator has to stop investigating Rove. You must live in a small town in Norway if you think we have so few federal investigators. Then again, based on the STUPID things you write, I doubt if you’ve EVER thought in your life. You’re SUCH AN IDIOT.

Thanks for never addressing the fact that Shuster and the typical liberal robots all lied to you guys once again about Rove being indicted. You do this by…. attacking me with ad hominem. As usual. Standard MO. Nice strawman, by the way, as I never said anything remotely resembling your frothing ranting.

If I’m such an idiot, why didn’t Rove get indicted on Friday? Didn’t I warn that he wouldn’t be? Didn’t I warn that Shuster was lying again? Oh, I think I did. Get a life Ryan, you need to learn how to discuss rationally and without using a bunch of hateful words. You have become your own enemy.

  59. Colleen Betsinger Says:

Watch out Rove, Watch out Dennis Hasert, the Democrats are on the march , l00 days till Nov. 7th, we want our country back. You Republicans have made us a laughing stock. No Republican deserves re-election.
