Lowry’s article in a nutshell: It is the Congress’ fault for not sticking with the Pres.
It is interesting to see how, with the expectations for the GOP flying so low, even Pres Bush’s dismal approval rating at 33% seems worthy -in Rich Lowry’s eyes- of praise and mention (”he is actually more popular than they are”).
I would say “he is less unpopular than they are”. But that’s just me.
That little twit is blaming Congress for all of Bush’s woes. Congress certainly has a lot of deserved blame, but GWB is at the head of it all. His divisive rule, his unwillingness to work with the opposition, his lies and deceit, his Nero like approach to the world, his false piety, his ignorance and his arrogance for starters.
Gee, Rick, some friend of Republicans you are. I mean they bend over backwards to give the boy king everything he wants. Then they trash their personal integrity by not doing oversight. What more could they do for you? You ought to be praising their low poll #s as validating their willingness to put Party before Country.
You know given the Falwellian Faux News and The Liar Neo-Cons such as Delay,. The War on Easter, or Christmas didn’t make much if any sense..Probably doesn’t to many either, except MAD or IRI.
A book entitled “The Jew, the Gypsy, and El Islam,” indicates that the Talmudic god [Not the God of Christians] is a blood loving god:
“The Talmud declares that there are two kinds of blood pleasing to the lord, viz: (1) that of Paschal holocaust [Easter sacrifice ‑‑ the Feast of Purim]; (2) that of circumcision.”
The irony of it is this is the peak of the Conservative movement in American politics.Forget compassionate conservativism, what about the rule of law, smaller government, state’s rights, non nation building policies ? I guess the pork and power out weigh the principles huh?
I care about what Rich Lowry says and everyone else should too. This is the Prince Harry if you will of the House of Buckley. He should have a paper bag on his head like Sylvester’s son and be walking around saying “Oh Father”. Progressives should pay massive attention to what goes on over at the NRO. This is the more practical wing of the Conservative movement, sans Mike Ledeen, and they have to be shown that their lack of credibility when it comes to thier almost non existent contempt for the ugliness that the republicans have governed and exploited in the name of conservativism. They treat the GOP as bastard children when they are responsible for a large chunk of their current philisophical, if only as a PR gimmick, DNA. They have blasted Liberals for years. What have they provided in the form of Working strategies to implement their precious core principles? Vacumesque ideals to be hijacked by the GOP’s Pork Huns and the PNAC.
But it’s not Georgie’s fault, and he’s still Georgie’s boy.
