#44 Your opinion. And there are lots of facts against your opinion.

What’s my opinion? That Spanish communists are progressing by giving monkeys the same rights as you? That Spaniards=Monkey? What could you possibly be talking about?

Curious... the post #44 is from bhealy. You're bhealy? Why are you using so many nicks? Maybe feeling a bit (more) schizo lately, IRI?

And surely the Spanish communists read blogs and saw your posts, that's the reason of thinking in monkey's rights. After all, Spanish communists are compasionate even with room level temperature IQ rethugs, as you... basic charity with retards... and sorry for the comparation of IRI with a retards, true retards aren't responsible for his retardiness...

just found this in my email...wanted to share (i may post in another thread also, since it's so late)

While suturing a cut on the hand of an old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to former Texas Gov. George W. Bush and his elevation to the White House.

The old Texan said, "Well, ya know, Bush is a 'post turtle'." Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was. The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle."

The old man saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain. "You know he didn't get there by himself, you know he doesn't belong there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, and you just want to help the dumb shit get down."

let's help: http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/?q=taxonomy/term/17

Bush's approval polls could eventually drop to about 20%, the same as Cheney, but NO lower because that 20 % represents Pat Robertson's dummy disciples, skin-head Nazi freaks in Idaho, and pediphile pud-puller weirdos > lol.

True, but it was done as a war time policy, that was removed from the books as soon as possible.
Comment by squegeeboo — April 25, 2006 @ 3:46 pm

I am not sure what you are trying to prove to yourself with this line of argument -if taxes were so abhorrent for conservatives, no Republican administration would have expanded or otherwise modified the tax code; they would have simply got rid of it.

The tax code is messy and complex thanks to contributions from both parties.

If we use your links, we get two different gov’t views on it. One that it is voluntary, one that it isn’t.
Comment by squegeeboo — April 25, 2006 @ 3:33 pm

::Sigh:: You still haven't read the IRS' "Truth About Frivolous Arguments”. It is voluntary inasmuch as you choose when to file, and you are on your own when it comes to determining how much you owe. In other countries these are not voluntary, they are compulsory and taxes are taken out of your paycheck -no need to file.

This also fits the definition of voluntary: "Capable of making choices; having the faculty of will", or "Done deliberately; intentional". Of course there will be consequences if you don't pay taxes; I cannot believe I am arguing semantics with you.

You are being contrarian for the sake of being it.

So your telling me the gov’t is contradictory and confusing. Sounds about right.

We can easily agree on this one. Specially when it comes to the tax code.

#65 The first income tax was signed into law by Abraham Lincoln.

True, but it was done as a war time policy, that was removed from the books as soon as possible.

As opposed to the Dem's that started using it as a platform starting in 1896, and where the main force behind it in the congress.

Bush has no regard for the environment, endangered species or anything that stands in the way of his enjoyment, self-indulgence, and greed.
BTW, this job as chimp-in-chief certainly affords him an awful lot of free time for his fun. The rest of us slog along, day after long day, making ends meet, but joy-boy certainly gets in his two hours of recreation followed by his two hour nap before dinner, followed by an early bed time.

#61 Why do you refuse to follow the links and read? Do you think I include them because they look “cool”?

you mean you don't?

There, I posted a link with my definitions this time, and included the accepted law defintion that applies also

http://www.answers.com/voluntary&r=67
1. voluntary-Done or undertaken of one’s own free will
2. Acting or done willingly and without constraint or expectation of reward
3. Normally controlled by or subject to individual volition
Law
 4. Without legal obligation or consideration

If you are penalized for doing/not doing something then it alters your decision making process towards an action(invalidates defintion 1), if you are penalized for doing/not doing something it means your are doing it with constraints (invalidates definition 2)
You have legal obligations towards taxes, invalidates definition 4

The third definition falls into unbelievables views on it, thats it's all free will.

So basically, 3 out of 4, including the law definition claim taxes arn't voluntary. If we use your links, we get two different gov't views on it. One that it is voluntary, one that it isn't.

"I am telling you what Congress, the IRS, etc. have said over the years."
So your telling me the gov't is contradictory and confusing. Sounds about right.

So then it isn’t voluntary. You can’t argue it both ways.

Squegeeboo,

Why do you refuse to follow the links and read? Do you think I include them because they look "cool"?

And again you fail to understand that it is not me who is arguing it (just like with our discussion on freedom of speech). I am telling you what Congress, the IRS, etc. have said over the years. Please follow the link to the frivolous claims and read the IRS' official statements on voluntary filing.

If your penalized for not doing something it stops being voluntary. See above definitions.

Not true.

For example... you have a choice whether or not you put your finger in the electrical outlet or not. If you chose to do so, you get shocked. That's a negative consequence (at least, I hope you consider it negative :). It doesn't make sticking your finger in the outlet not manditory becaue there are consequences. In life there are choices and consequences. Capisce?

#58 There have always been consequences to a person not paying taxes

So then it isn't voluntary. You can't argue it both ways.

voluntary-Done or undertaken of one's own free will
Acting or done willingly and without constraint or expectation of reward
Normally controlled by or subject to individual volition

wha?? Your little rant makes no sense... 1) There have always been consequences to a person not paying taxes, and 2) The tax code has been expanded over the years, by both Republican and Democrat administrations: History of the U.S. Tax System

Here is an article that explains "frivolous arguments" in regards to filing taxes: IRS Rebuts Those Making Frivolous Arguments on Paying Taxes -follow the link to "The Truth About Frivolous Arguments".
