Fox News’s White House correspondent Carl Cameron just reported that Rove will testify before the grand jury today. The AP reports it will be his fifth appearance.
This just can't be good for Rove. If I'm not mistaken, this will be his 5th appearance before the GJ on this matter. One just don't give a prosecutor that many opprotunities to pull out inconsistencies when one is also a subject of the investigation a bar. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. (btw- I'm a lawyer)
Humph. They must have caught him sneaking out the back door of the White House while Bush was out front trying to divert everyones attention by introducing Tony Snowjob as his new press-goat.
come on patrick!!!! i've still got my bottle of bubbly waiting for the day we take democracy back from the thugs in the shit-house! karl is gonna be someones pretty "little bitch from texas"!!
... Rove consulted with his private lawyers before a scheduled afternoon court appearance and was to answer questions about evidence that emerged since his last grand jury appearance last fall, the people said, speaking only on condition of anonymity because of grand jury secrecy rules.
That new evidence includes information that emerged late last year that Rove's attorney had conversations with Time magazine reporter Viveca Novak during a critical time in the case.
Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald met with the grand jury Wednesday. Among other things he is investigating why Rove originally failed to disclose to prosecutors that he had talked to Time magazine reporter Matt Cooper about the outed CIA operative,
Valerie Plame, back in 2003.
Months before Rove acknowledged speaking to Cooper about the CIA status of Plame, Novak told Rove's lawyer the White House aide might have disclosed Plame's CIA work to Cooper...
Yahoo News has this as their headline at this moment.
Am I the only one who is pesimistic? I'm not sure we could be that lucky. It also seems to speak volumes that the anti-Bush crowd (like myself) to have such high hopes pinned on Fitzgerald rather than making Rove irrelevant ourselves.
Although I would be laughing my ass off if Rove were indicted. I'd buy a ticket to give him a swift kick in the ass as he carries his moving boxes out of the White House.
[...] All the Networks are reporting that Karl Rove is testifying before the Grand Jury AGAIN, for the fifth time. It appears it may only be a matter of time before Father Fitzmas returns! [...]
basically, this guy fitzgerald is more concerned with "doing the right thing" than personal wealth and glory...now that the ryan trial in illinois has reached a verdict (GUILTY), he can get back to this business ... doesn't hurt to keep those fingers crossed also!
Fitzgerald's office just finished convicting former REPUBLICAN Illinois Governor George Ryan on 18 counts.
The minute he finished, he ran back to Washington to take down Rove. Yep, the minute Ryan was convicted, Bubble Boy announced that Rove's duties would be limited.
I guess Bubble Boy finally realizes that Fitz means business and he wont rest until all Republicans are in prison where they belong.

April 26th, 2006 at 11:38 amToday? Wow!

sorry
April 26th, 2006 at 12:01 pmKarl will be striking a deal.
April 26th, 2006 at 12:03 pmBut who's the target?
Can Fitzmas be far away?
April 26th, 2006 at 12:20 pmHumph. They must have caught him sneaking out the back door of the White House while Bush was out front trying to divert everyones attention by introducing Tony Snowjob as his new press-goat.
April 26th, 2006 at 12:26 pmKarl won't make a deal. He's too close to dumbya. I would think he'd take the fall for bushco rather than be turned by Fitz.
Karl, if you're reading this....think the movie "Deliverance". Then think what your boss asked you to do & is it all worth it?

April 26th, 2006 at 12:29 pmDid KKKarl swear under oath? If so, the fat pig better not lie.
April 26th, 2006 at 12:33 pmKindness- I loved that movie. Of course KKKarl and the Chimperor could be more like the crazed mountain man than poor ol' Ned Beatty.
April 26th, 2006 at 12:35 pmKarl sure does have a lot of confidence in his ability to bamboozle a Federal Prosecutor.

April 26th, 2006 at 12:51 pmJimbo, I liked the movie too. There were certain scenes that I admit I was somewhat queezy.
I always felt really bad for Ned Beatty after that movie came out.
April 26th, 2006 at 12:54 pmPatrick Fitzgerald is one-of-a-kind in this day and age you must admire his bulldog hang on tight keep digging kind of investigation.
