Fitzgerald’s office just finished convicting former REPUBLICAN Illinois Governor George Ryan on 18 counts.

The minute he finished, he ran back to Washington to take down Rove. Yep, the minute Ryan was convicted, Bubble Boy announced that Rove’s duties would be limited.

I guess Bubble Boy finally realizes that Fitz means business and he wont rest until all Republicans are in prison where they belong.

Praise Fitz!

basically, this guy fitzgerald is more concerned with “doing the right thing” than personal wealth and glory…now that the ryan trial in illinois has reached a verdict (GUILTY), he can get back to this business … doesn’t hurt to keep those fingers crossed also!

Jimbo, I liked the movie too. There were certain scenes that I admit I was somewhat queezy.

I always felt really bad for Ned Beatty after that movie came out.

Am I the only one who is pesimistic? I’m not sure we could be that lucky. It also seems to speak volumes that the anti-Bush crowd (like myself) to have such high hopes pinned on Fitzgerald rather than making Rove irrelevant ourselves.

Although I would be laughing my ass off if Rove were indicted. I’d buy a ticket to give him a swift kick in the ass as he carries his moving boxes out of the White House.

Here’s what AP news has on Queen Karl:

… Rove consulted with his private lawyers before a scheduled afternoon court appearance and was to answer questions about evidence that emerged since his last grand jury appearance last fall, the people said, speaking only on condition of anonymity because of grand jury secrecy rules.

That new evidence includes information that emerged late last year that Rove’s attorney had conversations with Time magazine reporter Viveca Novak during a critical time in the case.

Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald met with the grand jury Wednesday. Among other things he is investigating why Rove originally failed to disclose to prosecutors that he had talked to Time magazine reporter Matt Cooper about the outed CIA operative,
Valerie Plame, back in 2003.

Months before Rove acknowledged speaking to Cooper about the CIA status of Plame, Novak told Rove’s lawyer the White House aide might have disclosed Plame’s CIA work to Cooper…

This just can’t be good for Rove. If I’m not mistaken, this will be his 5th appearance before the GJ on this matter. One just don’t give a prosecutor that many opprotunities to pull out inconsistencies when one is also a subject of the investigation a bar. It just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. (btw- I’m a lawyer)
