Last month, Pat Roberts (R-KS) promised to complete a draft “statements” section of the Phase II investigation into manipulated pre-war intelligence by April 5. “You’ll no doubt be surprised to hear this, but guess what: It didn’t happen. Wendy Morigi, a spokesperson for Senator Jay Rockefeller, the committee’s ranking Democrat, acknowledged…that committee members hadn’t yet received the draft.”
Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawley… Shazam… this is quite the shocker!!!

April 27th, 2006 at 2:43 pmYes, the American people shouldn’t expect to find out why nearly 2,400 US Soldiers have lost their lives due to an illegal war.
What we really need is to have our coffers drained by another $67 Billion in pork.
Way to go Congress!
April 27th, 2006 at 2:48 pmAnd – as usual – Senator Rockefeller and the other Dem’s will take this firmly in hand and…do nothing. The R’s suck, the D’s suck and until we the people take this bunch firmly in hand – all of them – we will continue to get shafted.
April 27th, 2006 at 2:53 pmWhy does Kansas elect trogladites?
Between Roberts, Brokeback (hehe), and their born again Education Department…..they remind me of the Talibahn.
April 27th, 2006 at 2:53 pmThis is the beauty of one party control of the country – zero accountability. The repubs effectively control the federal government and the courts lean in their favor. The corporate press supports them so they are able to operate without consequences. Their effectiveness in winning elections with failed candidates gives them confidence into the future. They have the support of BIG business so can outspend anyone attempting to dislodge them from control. Why investigate yourself when you are in charge? It’s not going to happen with one party in control.
April 27th, 2006 at 2:56 pmIf Republicans can’t investigate their own, then guess what, they might not have enough electronic voting machines to steal the next election.
One of the great strengths of a properly functioning republic is self correction. Is our’s too damaged to correct itself?
April 27th, 2006 at 3:02 pmTired, archaic old farts spewing bullshit, doublespeak, and outright lies. Mr. Coverup, you’re not in Kansas anymore. Quit acting like the wicked queen of the west and get your flabby ass to work.
April 27th, 2006 at 3:28 pmThe American Republic will stand until the politicians learn that they can bribe the people with their own money.
April 27th, 2006 at 3:32 pmWhy do I think of Snidely Whiplash when I see Roberts?
April 27th, 2006 at 3:42 pmMark my often typed words here – do not believe what they say — watch what they do. They are seldom the same.
Yet more proof that the Republican “ethical standard” is to lie, and if/qhen caught, lie some more.
It’s the same for the ‘Phants in the House. They pulled the ethics bill from the floor today, when they realized they didn’t have th votes for it to pass.
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/04/27/congress.ethics.ap.ap/index.html
“House Republicans abruptly called off debate on a lobbying and ethics bill Thursday after it became apparent they lacked the votes to pass it. The GOP leadership called a closed-door meeting to try to persuade wayward members to support the package.”
“Persuade”??? How about “browbeat, bribe, threaten”.
April 27th, 2006 at 3:43 pmHas Roberts ever held true to what he has promised since the 9/11 commission?
April 27th, 2006 at 3:44 pmOf course not.
He gets his shorts in a twist when challenged and has himself a vertical hissy of outrage, but then he stalls, lies, and otherwise delays action — count on it.
I am feigning surprise.
I would now like to thank dlet for graciously teaching me how to feign. I used to just swear under my breath!
April 27th, 2006 at 3:45 pmThanks for the props Jules!!

April 27th, 2006 at 3:56 pmJules, I go ahead and swear out loud.
Dlet, how did your feigning surprise go again? One hand to the forehead, then what?:->
April 27th, 2006 at 6:40 pm“Brokeback”; I like that :)
April 27th, 2006 at 7:28 pm[...] 2) Oh Master(s) and/or Mistress(es) of All Creation, of this World and the Next, whose August and Surpassing Majesty we are unable to Comprehend or Describe – please, please, please, pretty please let there be other members of Congress involved, and let one of those Congressmen be named “Pat Roberts“. April 28th, 2006 at 1:04 amPat Roberts is from Kansas…
…Dorothy, Toto, Auntie Em, and the Wizard were also…
…draw your own conclusions as to wether or not you will EVER get the truth about Bushiva and L’il Dick…
…out of a committee he (Roberts) chairs…
…when your constituency consists of inbred, religious snake charmers…
…what accountability will they demand of you?
