OH MY F’CKING GOD! WHAT A DAY FOR THESE IDIOTS!! Woke up to hookers, bribes, and questionable contracts, and looks like I’ll fall asleep to drugs, illegal prescriptions, and the worst mouth on radio in a Palm Beach pokey.
As Rush would say, drug felons should do their hard time and take responsibility for their actions. He won’t be paying trial lawyers to defend him. He’ll admit to his junkie habit and using mules to score his drugs. Prison won’t be so bad, Rush…heck, you’ll fit right in.
In response to media and other inquiries, Roy Black, Rush Limbaugh’s attorney, released the following statement today concerning a settlement agreement with the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office to end the investigation of Mr. Limbaugh:
“I am pleased to announce that the State Attorney’s Office and Mr. Limbaugh have reached an agreement whereby a single count charge of doctor shopping filed today by the State Attorney will be dismissed in 18 months. As a primary condition of the dismissal, Mr. Limbaugh must continue to seek treatment from the doctor he has seen for the past two and one half years. This is the same doctor under whose care Mr. Limbaugh has remained free of his addiction without relapse.
“Mr. Limbaugh and I have maintained from the start that there was no doctor shopping, and we continue to hold this position. Accordingly, we filed today with the Court a plea of ‘Not Guilty’ to the charge filed by the State.
“As part of this agreement, Mr. Limbaugh also has agreed to make a $30,000 payment to the State of Florida to defray the public cost of the investigation. The agreement also provides that he must refrain from violating the law during this 18 months, must pay $30 per month for the cost of “supervision” and comply with other similar provisions of the agreement.
“Mr. Limbaugh had intended to remain in treatment. Thus, we believe the outcome for him personally will be much as if he had fought the charge and won.”
The actions taken today are as follows:
– The State Attorney has filed a single charge of doctor shopping with the Court. The charge is being held in abeyance under the terms of an agreement between the State and Mr. Limbaugh.
– Mr. Limbaugh has filed a plea of “Not Guilty” with the Court.
The formal agreement between Mr. Limbaugh and the State Attorney will be filed with the Court on Monday. The terms of the agreement are substantively as follows:
– Mr. Limbaugh will continue in treatment with the doctor he has seen for the past two and one half years.
– After Mr. Limbaugh completes an additional 18 months of treatment, the State Attorney has agreed to drop the charge.
– Mr. Limbaugh has agreed to make a $30,000 payment to the State of Florida to defray the public cost of the investigation.
listening to randi talk about this – she worked at same station as rush in palm beach..
she says that since his lawyer is roy black (?) he won’t spend a minute in jail…
now, it that were you or me… equal justice… riiiiiight…
#19 – Essentially a deferred judgment. If Rush can keep his fingers out of the cookie jar for 18 months, pays the money, and follows all of the court’s instructions, he’s free as a bird. It bites, really.
The agreement also provides that he must refrain from violating the law during this 18 months
they take the mugshot and essentially book him so that if he attempts to flee, or doesn’t live up to his agreement, they can put an arrest warrant out for him. not sure though…
I actually believe HeadRush should be sedated to some degree , he also should be treated for bi-polar disease and other psychotic illnesses . I mean look at him and the way he acts , saying druggies should be jailed when he is one himself .
Reading the article this is just an extension of his past legal troubles. He voluntarily turned himself in. I am not a fan of rush at all, but this doesn’t sound like a big deal if he can keep his nose clean.
I worked at a Methadone clinic as a drug counselor for 2 years, man those opiates are very difficult to get off of, thats why there is methadone treatment. Many of our patients were prescription pain killer addicts, like Rush. I also know that being actively addicted to a substance or alcohol makes you a one-tracked mind, self absorbed, poor judgement, whore to the substance. It has also been proven with CAT scans that drug addicts’ and alcoholics’ brains are essentially turned off, the activity is concentrated to the limbic system which is the older, survival-based area of the brain. All reasoning, logic, and ability to make sound judgement is lost. Thats why drug addicts do the crazy things they do. So if Rush ever gets off the opiates, he might look back at his talk show ramblings and ask “what the hell was I thinking”. Odds aren’t good he will get off the opiates, he really needs to consider Methadone treatment. I said this long ago about Rush, and walla, here is the painful truth about his drug addiction. When is he going to lose his job like all us would if we were caught like this?
Say, wasn’t he palling around with RumpsFelt a week or so ago? maybe Limpballs tried to blow up the Secraterries image in return for little somethings to relieve the pain in his backside……..
If Rush is being drug tested once a month, thats what the 30 bucks are for. But Rush probably will be looking into, if not already, the many ways to pass drug tests, I saw all the lengths these opiate addicts were willing to go to, put nothing past an opiate addict.
So this turns out to be more like a slap on the wrist for Lintball?
The $$ fines are chump change for him. Where’s the real punishment?
Do you think anyone with less celebrity would get similar treatment?
Of course Rush maintains his innocense, like any good addict would. I have seen these addicts deny till the end, at all costs. Also, his previous treatment was 5 weeks, what a joke, all the research and well established experience concludes that people have to be in treatment at least 90 days for any effect. Also, statistically, 1/3 of people entering treatment for the first time will “get it”, 1/3 will “get it” at subsequent attempts at treatment, and the last 3rd will never “get it”. Which is Rush?
Some of the posters are irritated that Rush has celebrity status and can afford the money for justice system, which subsequently affords him the slap on the wrist. Don’t even let that get ya down, its that very status that enables the person to avoid the help they need, thus Rush will continue un-treated and will not get off the drugs. Just look at Whitney and others of the like situations. Whitney’s money and status have been her chief enabler.
If only it were that easy, thats the problem with people who have no clue, they think its just bad behavior and drug addicts should just stop. Its a mental illness my friend that needs treatment. But the Republican Rush gets his just treatment, as most Republicans have no understanding of addiction.
As Rush would say, drug felons should do their hard time and take responsibility for their actions.
Was true when he said it and is still true.
– Mr. Limbaugh has agreed to make a $30,000 payment to the State of Florida to defray the public cost of the investigation.
And still pleads not guilty, wish I could afford to be not guilty and still fork out 30K “just cause”
19 I don’t get it was this a symbolic arrest then?
Sadly I’d say so
30 Do you think anyone with less celebrity would get similar treatment?
Hell no, The Attorney General was purchased.
What a coincidence that this “news” broke early Friday evening. 10 bucks its gone by the Monday news cycle. And, the end result will always be, he was not guilty. There will be no other argument unless he violates the conditions of his plea agreement. Only poor people go to jail for a drug addiction – rich white republicans can afford an excuse.
Actually, in the interest of fairness, I would like to strike the “white republican” portion of my comment from #38. We really do have the best legal system money can buy.
Actually Lindsey, I wanted to say lots of nasty things about Rush, but I didn’t in my posts, just the truth about his opiate addiction and what that makes him as a person.
You either have to be protecting your money, completely stupid, or on drugs to be a Republican these days, which one are you Lindsey?
Here are my impressions of this non-story that help to dispel the erroneous reasons for the excitement surrounding it. It’s the corollary issues that are important and how it exposes the hypocrisy and inequality in this country.
WoW, the caring and compasion here for a person trying to beat an addiction is just overwhelming. You guys say
‘if it was anyone else” yet IF it was ANYONE else, say a young woman or anyone, would it be appropriate to say such horrible things about them? Politcs aside, let he who is without sin cast the first stone. With that said I’m gonna light up a joint, pop open a beer and enjoy the sunset. You’ll never here me speak ill of the HEAD.
Was that Republiscum outrage accusing the Dems of having no decency?
LOL
Do Republiscums even know the definition of decency? I suppose they do when it comes to pornography — other than that, they are indecently corrupt and immoral.
#42 – the left are the ones on drugs, but yes some righties do them, as well.
1.) I am a Republican because Democrats are crooked thugs who slash tires to subvert democracy.
2.) I am a Republican because I don’t believe a woman’s right to kill her partially delivered baby is a constitutional right.
3.) I am a Repulbican because I believe in economic choice
4.) I am a Repulbican because with all their faults, they love America and would not sacrifice our safety to score cheap points.
Happiness is: Lush Limpwrist skewered on a slowly turning spit, roasting over a hot coals with a juicy red apple in his mouth. Feed his greasy fatty drug infused gristle to stray dogs, if they’ll have it, and can can keep from wretching it up.
Darren Kagan from CNN used to let this bloated scumbag push up on her? I think she may be under the influence of something as well. Also, if any of LimpBags interns are reading this for him like they did for Tony “Nice Wig” Snow….HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Lindsey, what sounds better to you , Ying or Yang? It’s the Second law of thermodynamics at play here,.Your just feebly trying to attach a feel good litmus test for your allegiance to pursuade who? Yourself?
#45
You said—I thought liberals were weak, capitulating, feminine, gay, French, cowardly, surrender monkies and unwilling to attack and be manly and strong?
God, you conservative hacks can’t keep your stereotypes correct for more than a day.

Actually most violent crimes are comitted by homosexuals—kind of stems from their perverse struggle against God and nature. I know you could care less about any facts regarding Limbaugh, this story is just an opportunity for you to scratch his eyes out like the bitch fag that you are.
It’s a Left Wing Conspiracy I tell you!
President Bush called Limbaugh a “National Treasure”. There’s just no way he can be a crack head!
And if Rush really is a crack head, it’s the Feminazi’s fault for driving him to become a drug addict.
Please I would wish all the republicans would just decide if they can afford to not have the Liberal left support thier government or not. I’m sorry, I thought that when I paid my taxes I got a right to protest my governments managment of those revenues, Apparently not. Lindsey could you please suggest to your party of litmus tests that if I have failed to adhere to your lock step morals and codes for better living I would like to voluntarily remove my self from the donation list. Thanks, and out of principle I will cherry pick which part of the government I care to subsidize based purely on party dogma. Muchas Gracias.
Rush needs to just quietly go away, figure out his obviously severe drug problem, and leave us with one less shrill voice of a right-wing loon. But it would be nice if they threw him in the slammer for a few years too.
Let’s find some dirt on Hannity too.
I think you are on the wrong site girlfriend. This is Think Progress not Think Regress.
1. Crooked thugs who slashed tires? Oooo … sounds real thugish to me. I would say the Republican PHONE JAMMING scandal in the NE is a little more serious than slit tires, hun. Read up, would ya. Or better yet, YOUR Preznit did not win the 2000 election. Election fraud in 2004. Look it up on the web.
2. Majority of Dems don’t agree with partial birth abortions. Dems are for choice. Inotherwords, abortions should be rare but legal. If you don’t approve of abortions, then don’t get one. Focus on your own damn family.
3. The way the Republicans run things, your choice will be poor or poorer.
4. Bullsh*t. There’s Katrina and the unprovoked war in Iraq. When do you leave for Iraq or New Orleans?
Someone should go through his archives, and pull out his “non-nonsense†quotes pertaining to drug users.

Well this would explain why so many republican politicians get caught committing crimes. Everyone from the BTK Killer to Abramoff and Libby. Based on your analysis, the whole GOP structure must be closeted gay men. Thanks for confirming your deep dark secrets of the Greedy Old Pervert party :)
And Smack,
Unfortunately many republican mothers who should have had abortions gave birth to babies with the cord wrapped around their scrawny necks. It’s produced an entire generally of retarded, stupid, fat crackers like Antagoist that are so delusional they believe their own crap, and so retarded they think others can’t see how stupid they are :)
Out here in reality, we don’t need to medicate or drink the Koolaid to feel better.
Feeling better won’t solve problems.
I do value innocent life, but abortion should be my choice and not my governments.
I also value the innocent lives of those in other countries like Iraq.
Clinton/Gore were certainly not perfect but they left our country with a SURPLUS budget. Since 2000 we are now TRILLIONS in debt, thanks to the Bush misAdministration. Check the economic and stock indexes from 1992 to present.
I’m sure your heart bleeds for the detainees at Gitmo too, and you don’t even bat an eye over the millions of babies killed in the name of choice. Consider that contradiction for a while.
Stocks are up, the unemployment rate is lower than it has been in thirty years, and experts are suprised that the economy is till going strong in spite of gas prices.
9/11 may have happened during Bush’s watch, but it was the result of intelligence agencies being unable to talk to eachother—thanks to Clinton policies.
I don’t know how you can possibly feel better by embracing the Democratic party of no ideas and treason. It sure sounds like you’re in some serious denial—reality indeed!
If you are for real I feel very sorry for the people that are around you. When I have enough off your stupidity I just dont read your post but your family and friends (if you have any) can’t just ignore you and I feel for them.
Ryan honey, check your blog topic. This one is about RUSH. No ranting about the rest of the silly things going on in that head of yours. Please Ryan try to focus.
So When is Rush gonna admit hes a Liar?
Of course he won’t, but this effectively ends his “moral”
argument, that was silly to begin with for a child could see thru his antics.
Do not listen to men whom speak as Rush.
Think Nothing of Him Purge the Words of that Fool from your mind forever.
And thy Grimm Krapper Continues
KKKKAAAACHUNNNGGGGG!!!!
Rush Limbaugh is getting what he deserves. He is a con man, a pathetic fearful child, a coward, destructive to other people’s well being, and fundamentally without honesty or character. May the Universe deal with him appropriately. He makes me sick at heart and angry beyond what I want to feel.
So now we know that the trolls might not be drug addicts but they listen and follow one.
kinda makes them beyond stupid, and irrsational but we knew that already…like the one who posts here pretending to be everybody’s mommy, must be residuals of the drugs that have failed to wear off.
Would someone please write about the Drudge Report’s “Not Guilty” headline??? How completely misleading is it for them to put Not Guilty in quotations? (obviously there is a slight difference between Not Guilty and “Not Guilty” — the latter is what he pled, the former would indicate a court or jury found him not guilty). How very lame.
I probably should have elaborated more: I would be very surprised if Rush and all his friends have not previously proclaimed someone guilty when they entered the exact type of plea as Rush (i.e., “I really didn’t do this, but I will pay $30,000, etc. to make it all go away now.”) This should be a shining example of their hypocrisy.
Ryan, your economic assertions are,as usual, completely baseless. The unemployment rate is not just people receiving benefits. It’s an estimate of the monthly number of employable people actively seeking work out of the total number of employable people. The BLS also contains enough data to calculate an estimate of those out of work who have given up looking for work. If those were includued, the unemployment rate would be 1.1-1.3% higher than reported.
The market crash, particularly the NASDAQ,occurred in March of 2001,hardly enough time for the Bush policies to be put in place, and the market continued to fall until 2003. Since then the broad market indices are up more than 30%.
Rush should be in jail, not just for the oxycontin doctor shopping (I’ve been on it for over 2 years due to chronic pain and it’s not that good a “rush”) but for spewing trash over the airwaves for too long. But,as Mencken noted, one can never go broke underestimating the taste of the American people.
Remember the prosecutor trampled on Rush’ civil rights so severely that the ACLU came to his defense.
The prosecutor was a partisan hack, had he had the goods on Rush he would not have dropped this.
The 30k Rush had to pay was a travesty of justice that a real liberal should be appalled by.
You act like Rush was addicted to recreational drugs and your lack of compassion for a fellow human who suffers from chronic back pain and accidentally became addicted to his prescription meds reveals your true colors.
Troll, Mr. L makes boat loads of money and could have easily paid for therapy for substance abuse as preventive medicine not used it as a Hollywood style fire extinguisher. What has he done to have Oxycotin banned? It’s all about holding our, or your, leaders to the standard they ask of others. Why did he have to take out 30 withdrawals of just under 10k for? This bothers me more than his Dr. shopping accusations. We all like laws that work for us but his sudden need for sympathy and understanding seems like he is the first one to need it and his Oligarchy status is supposed to let him off the hook. What has he ever done for the public’s good other than pay his taxes?
Once again in RACIST, corrupted, al CRACKER, white male privilege AMERIKKKa!!!!
A criminal sombi*ch- PUS LIMPHOG aka Rush Limbaugh- has bought his way out of prison…
…the Palm Beach County State’s Attorney Barry Krischer is a corrupt, no good scoundrel…
…allowing Limbaugh to “strike a deal” of this kind- after having the state’s Supreme Court rule that Limbaugh’s medical records had to be opened up to prosecutors, finding in those records that Limbaugh sought as many doctors as would prescribe his Oxycontin which is a felony- SMACKS OF A PAY FOR PLAY DEAL!
…prosecutors had Limbaugh’s a*s in a serious vise, and let that racist, fat ,slovenly cowardly mofo go…PERIOD!
…whether pressure from Limbaugh’s cult worshippers, a monetary “campaign contribution” , or both made this “deal” happen it is a slap in the face to all law enforcement officers, officers of the court, and the law abiding citizens of this country…
America is going to be brought down by its own greed, corruption and INJUSTICE, its Karma demands it!!!!
Hypocrisy knows no bounds. Someone’s talking about family values (multiple marriages), clean living (drug addiction), making the country stronger (dividing it with hate filled rhetoric).
What can you count on? For the most part, the opposite of what comes out of his mouth is usually true.
From Newsweek, 10/20/03: “. . .But Limbaugh’s story owes more to the “Wizard of Oz†than “The Scarlet Letter.†The man behind the curtain is not the God of Family Values but a childless, twice-divorced, thrice-married schlub whose idea of a good time is to lie on his couch and watch football endlessly. When Rush Limbaugh declared to his radio audience that he was “your epitome of morality of virtue, a man you could totally trust with your wife, your daughter, and even your son in a Motel 6 overnight,†he was acting. He “regards himself as an entertainer who is very pleased that people pay attention to his political views,†says Wall Street editorial writer John Fund, who collaborated with Limbaugh on one of the radio host’s books (“The Way Things Ought to Beâ€).
More Rush Limbaugh drug hypocrisy:
“”When you strip it all away, Jerry Garcia (former Grateful Dead guitarist) destroyed his life on drugs. And yet he’s being honored, like some godlike
figure. Our priorities are out of whack, folks.” –Rush Limbaugh radio show quoted in the L.A. Times, 8/20/95
“I have a solution for Mrs. [Jocelyn] Elders. I mean, if she wants to legalize drugs, send the people who want to do drugs to London and Zurich and let’s be rid of them. Now…The problem with legalizing drugs is, it’s just another abhorrent example of human behavior that we’ve suddenly decided, “Hey, we can’t handle it. We’ve given up and we’re going to sanction the destruction of lives. We’re going to let you destroy your life. We’re going to make it easy, and then all of us who accept the responsibilities of life and don’t destroy our lives on drugs–we’ll pay for whatever messes you get into.”…
I’m appalled at people who simply want to look at all this abhorrent behavior and say, “Hey, you know, we can’t control it anymore. People are going to do drugs anyway. Let’s legalize it.” It’s a dumb idea. It’s a rotten idea, and those who are for it are purely, 100 percent selfish.” –Rush Limbaugh TV show (12/9/93)
The prosecutor was a partisan hack, had he had the goods on Rush he would not have dropped this.
Comment by troll — April 29, 2006 @ 7:31 am
The prosecution did not “drop it”: They struck an agreement allowing Limbaugh to seek treatment.
This type of agreements is reached all the time to save everyone involved money and time.
The 30k Rush had to pay was a travesty of justice that a real liberal should be appalled by.
Had Limbaugh been completely in the clear, he would not have needed to pay that money as part of the agreement. Had he been clean, he would not had been involved in this mess to begin with -call it owning up to your mistakes and taking responsibility.
You act like Rush was addicted to recreational drugs and your lack of compassion(…)
So now being a drug addict is not that bad? Because an addiction isan addiction is an addiction. Whether “recreational” or not, the end result is the same: “Drugs destroy your life” as Limbaugh himself put it.
And by you defending him you show your priorities are “out of wack” -again, as Limbaugh himself put it.
He is suffering the consequences of his own decisions. You don’t “accidentally” become an addict.
Remember, abortion as well as gay marriage are nothing but wedge issues used by the wingnuts and their blind followers to distract americans from what their REAL agenda is.
Everyone has to remember that Rush didn’t get off scott free. He had to pay more than $30,000 and has to serve what amounts to 1 1/2 years of probation. He’s a dickhead, he’s a liar, he’s blowhard – but he’s also a non-violent drug offender.
This is exactly what drug sentences should be. Rush is benefitting from a program designed to divert addicts from prison to treatment. And the real beauty is that it’s exactly the sort of program that he’s opposed in the past. That’s the message – that the system works and Rush is a hypocrite.
from firedoglake: Now that Rush Limbaugh has turned himself in due to his plea deal with the Palm Beach prosecutor’s office, I thought a bit of discussion about what Rush has in store for his 18-months of supervised release would be helpful for everyone (well, everyone who hasn’t gone through a first time drug arrest anyway).
First off, this is a deferred prosecution — not a deferred judgment — which is a much, much better deal for Rush (and something of a coup for his defense counsel Roy Black, I have to say)…
The fact that the prosecutors were this generous in the deal-making says to me they may have had difficulties getting Rush’s doctor to cooperate with them in terms of testimony and evidence provision.
…
darn
#110 – This is exactly what drug sentences should be. Rush is benefitting from a program designed to divert addicts from prison to treatment.
You are absolutely right, Wisco. It’s Rush’s hypocrisy that gives me a problem. Prisons are full of non-violent drug offenders, and Rush will be happy to let them sit there. He’ll never speak out for anyone but himself. You’re right about the dickhead, liar and blowhard parts, too. I just like typing those words…
the unemployment rate is lower than it has been in thirty years, and experts are suprised that the economy is till going strong in spite of gas prices. Comment by Antagonist
Actually, due to the fact that the formula used to calculate unemployment was changed under the Bush Administration; the comparison is completely worthless.
Further, the economy is running on foreign money, and contrary to what you Yanks may believe, that money is going to have to be paid back at some point with interest. The Chinese didn’t give you those loans just to be nice.
if it is even true aboutRush, I think its a witchunt. At least he does not drive his car and put othersat risk like pill popper Brain Patrick Kenendy who learned well from his dad. “CHAPPAQUIDDICK TED KENNEDY”
This guy pill popped as a congresman and did notcare about his constituints or people whom he may ahve mowed down

Rush: The 35 Undeniable Truths
As read by Rush Limbaugh on his radio show, Friday, February 18, 1994:
——————————————————————————–
(All equally truthful: number 1 is not more or less important than 35.)
There is a distinct singular American culture – rugged individualism and self-reliance – which made America great.
The vast majority of the rich in this country did not inherit their wealth; they earned it. They are the country’s achievers, producers, and job creators.
No nation has ever taxed itself into prosperity.
Evidence refutes liberalism.
There is no such thing as a New Democrat.
The Earth’s eco-system is not fragile.
Character matters; leadership decends from character.
The most beautiful thing about a tree is what you do with it after you cut it down.
Ronald Reagan was the greatest president of the twentieth century.
The 1980s was not a decade of greed but a decade of prosperity; it was the longest period of peacetime growth in American history.
Abstinence prevents sexually transmitted disease and pregnancy -every time it’s tried.
Condoms only work during the school year.
Poverty is not the root (”rut”) cause of crime.
There’s a simple way to solve the crime problem: obey the law; punish those who do not.
If you commit a crime, you are guilty.
Women should not be allowed on juries where the accused is a stud.
The way to improve our schools is not more money, but the reintroduction of moral and spiritual values, as well as the four “R’s”: reading, ‘riting, ‘rithmatic, and Rush.
I am not arrogant.
My first 35 Undeniable Truths are still undeniably true.
There is a God.
There is something wrong when critics say the problem with America is too much religion.
Morality is not defined by individual choice.
The only way liberals win national elections is by pretending they’re not liberals.
Feminism was established as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society.
Follow the money. When somebody says, “It’s not the money,” it’s always the money.
Liberals attempt through judicial activism what they cannot win at the ballot box.
Using federal dollars as a measure, our cities have not been neglected, but poisoned with welfare dependency funds.
Progress is not striving for economic justice or fairness, but economic growth.
Liberals measure compassion by how many people are given welfare. Conservatives measure compassion by how many people no longer need it.
Compassion is no substitute for justice.
The culture war is between the winners and those who think they’re losers who want to become winners. The losers think the only way they can become winners is by banding together all the losers and then empowering a leader of the losers to make things right for them.
The Los Angeles riots were not caused by the Rodney King verdict. The Los Angeles riots were caused by rioters.
You could afford your house without your government – if it weren’t for your government.

Rush is in the business of dirt digging. Despite popular beliefs–Rush is not right. All he’s ever done is bash the opposite side.
The earth’s ecosystem is not fragile? Take a look around you. Would you want drink the water from the lakes around you if you saw the green algae and black stains that cross the beaches in my area? Mirabile dictu!
April 28th, 2006 at 6:35 pmIn response to media and other inquiries, Roy Black, Rush Limbaugh’s attorney, released the following statement today concerning a settlement agreement with the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office to end the investigation of Mr.
April 28th, 2006 at 6:37 pmYes, Lintball has said drug felons deserve hard time.
April 28th, 2006 at 6:37 pmDon’t drop the soap, Rush.
listening to randi talk about this – she worked at same station as rush in palm beach..
April 28th, 2006 at 6:40 pmshe says that since his lawyer is roy black (?) he won’t spend a minute in jail…
now, it that were you or me… equal justice… riiiiiight…
I HOPE THAT FAT, WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT NEVER KICKS HIS ADDICTION.
DIE, YOU PIECE OF SHIT.
DIE !!!!!
April 28th, 2006 at 6:40 pmI don’t get it was this a symbolic arrest then?
April 28th, 2006 at 6:42 pm#19 – Essentially a deferred judgment. If Rush can keep his fingers out of the cookie jar for 18 months, pays the money, and follows all of the court’s instructions, he’s free as a bird. It bites, really.
April 28th, 2006 at 6:46 pm#19
i think it has to do with the
they take the mugshot and essentially book him so that if he attempts to flee, or doesn’t live up to his agreement, they can put an arrest warrant out for him. not sure though…
April 28th, 2006 at 6:47 pmI actually believe HeadRush should be sedated to some degree , he also should be treated for bi-polar disease and other psychotic illnesses . I mean look at him and the way he acts , saying druggies should be jailed when he is one himself .
April 28th, 2006 at 6:55 pm#12 – interesting. Is that his REAL address listed???
April 28th, 2006 at 6:56 pmReading the article this is just an extension of his past legal troubles. He voluntarily turned himself in. I am not a fan of rush at all, but this doesn’t sound like a big deal if he can keep his nose clean.
April 28th, 2006 at 6:57 pmWHAT AN UGLY MUG SHOT!!!!!!!!!
FUGLY!!!!!
April 28th, 2006 at 6:59 pmSending out his housekeeper to commit crime apparently is an IOKIYAR offense. Doctor shopping is apparently an IOKIYAR offense.
Still, anyone expecting Florida to follow their own law didn’t get the memo.
‘America is beautiful, but she has an ugly side.’ — Neil Young, Looking for a Leader
And an ugly backside named Limbo. Hurl a bag of dogturds at Limbo’s limo today!
April 28th, 2006 at 7:01 pmI worked at a Methadone clinic as a drug counselor for 2 years, man those opiates are very difficult to get off of, thats why there is methadone treatment.
April 28th, 2006 at 7:03 pmSay, wasn’t he palling around with RumpsFelt a week or so ago? maybe Limpballs tried to blow up the Secraterries image in return for little somethings to relieve the pain in his backside……..
April 28th, 2006 at 7:05 pmIf Rush is being drug tested once a month, thats what the 30 bucks are for. But Rush probably will be looking into, if not already, the many ways to pass drug tests, I saw all the lengths these opiate addicts were willing to go to, put nothing past an opiate addict.
April 28th, 2006 at 7:06 pmSo this turns out to be more like a slap on the wrist for Lintball?
April 28th, 2006 at 7:07 pmThe $$ fines are chump change for him. Where’s the real punishment?
Do you think anyone with less celebrity would get similar treatment?
#22,
Typical Republican behavior, speak out against a behavior the most, becouse you yourself are doing it.
April 28th, 2006 at 7:09 pmStep away from the pills!
April 28th, 2006 at 7:10 pmOpiate addicts who don’t want Methadone treatment have to go inpatient for the detox, its horrible.
April 28th, 2006 at 7:11 pmOf course Rush maintains his innocense, like any good addict would.
April 28th, 2006 at 7:20 pm#32 Sexon
If only it were that easy, thats the problem with people who have no clue, they think its just bad behavior and drug addicts should just stop. Its a mental illness my friend that needs treatment. But the Republican Rush gets his just treatment, as most Republicans have no understanding of addiction.
April 28th, 2006 at 7:24 pm10
As Rush would say, drug felons should do their hard time and take responsibility for their actions.
Was true when he said it and is still true.
– Mr. Limbaugh has agreed to make a $30,000 payment to the State of Florida to defray the public cost of the investigation.
And still pleads not guilty, wish I could afford to be not guilty and still fork out 30K “just cause”
19
I don’t get it was this a symbolic arrest then?
Sadly I’d say so
30
April 28th, 2006 at 7:27 pmDo you think anyone with less celebrity would get similar treatment?
Hell no, The Attorney General was purchased.
My god it’s disgusting how low the left will stoop to attack their political enemies. You brownshirts are scary. Have you no decency?
April 28th, 2006 at 7:31 pmWhat a coincidence that this “news” broke early Friday evening. 10 bucks its gone by the Monday news cycle. And, the end result will always be, he was not guilty. There will be no other argument unless he violates the conditions of his plea agreement. Only poor people go to jail for a drug addiction – rich white republicans can afford an excuse.
April 28th, 2006 at 7:31 pmActually, in the interest of fairness, I would like to strike the “white republican” portion of my comment from #38. We really do have the best legal system money can buy.
April 28th, 2006 at 7:35 pmLindsey, yup we have absolutely no decency, as you have always thought. Now move along, nothing else to see here.
April 28th, 2006 at 7:39 pmActually Lindsey, I wanted to say lots of nasty things about Rush, but I didn’t in my posts, just the truth about his opiate addiction and what that makes him as a person.
You either have to be protecting your money, completely stupid, or on drugs to be a Republican these days, which one are you Lindsey?
April 28th, 2006 at 7:42 pmHere are my impressions of this non-story that help to dispel the erroneous reasons for the excitement surrounding it. It’s the corollary issues that are important and how it exposes the hypocrisy and inequality in this country.
April 28th, 2006 at 7:47 pmWoW, the caring and compasion here for a person trying to beat an addiction is just overwhelming. You guys say
April 28th, 2006 at 7:48 pm‘if it was anyone else” yet IF it was ANYONE else, say a young woman or anyone, would it be appropriate to say such horrible things about them? Politcs aside, let he who is without sin cast the first stone. With that said I’m gonna light up a joint, pop open a beer and enjoy the sunset. You’ll never here me speak ill of the HEAD.
Springtime for Limbaugh.

April 28th, 2006 at 7:56 pmWas that Republiscum outrage accusing the Dems of having no decency?
April 28th, 2006 at 7:57 pmLOL
Do Republiscums even know the definition of decency? I suppose they do when it comes to pornography — other than that, they are indecently corrupt and immoral.
#42 – the left are the ones on drugs, but yes some righties do them, as well.
1.) I am a Republican because Democrats are crooked thugs who slash tires to subvert democracy.
April 28th, 2006 at 8:06 pm2.) I am a Republican because I don’t believe a woman’s right to kill her partially delivered baby is a constitutional right.
3.) I am a Repulbican because I believe in economic choice
4.) I am a Repulbican because with all their faults, they love America and would not sacrifice our safety to score cheap points.
Marie – you are immoral and criminal. Treasonous liar.
April 28th, 2006 at 8:09 pmWhat about the 30 some odd acts of coitus interruptus of just under 10K to finance his hobby?

and #5 lindsey….your a sheep…and your boyfriend just got arrested to day…waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
April 28th, 2006 at 8:24 pmHappiness is: Lush Limpwrist skewered on a slowly turning spit, roasting over a hot coals with a juicy red apple in his mouth. Feed his greasy fatty drug infused gristle to stray dogs, if they’ll have it, and can can keep from wretching it up.
April 28th, 2006 at 8:26 pmDarren Kagan from CNN used to let this bloated scumbag push up on her? I think she may be under the influence of something as well. Also, if any of LimpBags interns are reading this for him like they did for Tony “Nice Wig” Snow….HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
April 28th, 2006 at 8:38 pmLindsey, what sounds better to you , Ying or Yang? It’s the Second law of thermodynamics at play here,.Your just feebly trying to attach a feel good litmus test for your allegiance to pursuade who? Yourself?

Actually most violent crimes are comitted by homosexuals—kind of stems from their perverse struggle against God and nature. I know you could care less about any facts regarding Limbaugh, this story is just an opportunity for you to scratch his eyes out like the bitch fag that you are.
April 28th, 2006 at 8:55 pmIt’s a Left Wing Conspiracy I tell you!
April 28th, 2006 at 8:58 pmPresident Bush called Limbaugh a “National Treasure”. There’s just no way he can be a crack head!
And if Rush really is a crack head, it’s the Feminazi’s fault for driving him to become a drug addict.
HA HA! Lumpy Limbo gets caught with his chubby hand in the jelly oxy belly jar.
April 28th, 2006 at 9:04 pmPlease I would wish all the republicans would just decide if they can afford to not have the Liberal left support thier government or not.
April 28th, 2006 at 9:06 pmRush needs to just quietly go away, figure out his obviously severe drug problem, and leave us with one less shrill voice of a right-wing loon. But it would be nice if they threw him in the slammer for a few years too.
Let’s find some dirt on Hannity too.

April 28th, 2006 at 9:12 pmMean Jean Schmidt gets a “reprimand” in the form of …. a letter.
Right now on LCL
Grow up Lindsey.
Turn off FOX news and get an education.
April 28th, 2006 at 9:13 pm18 months of ‘pee in the cup,fat boy, or go to jail’…
April 28th, 2006 at 9:15 pm#61 Lady’s Rule
Do you feel better now? You can always take a midol and have yourself a good cry. A good cure for you would be—
1. Get over the 2000 election. Bush won fair and square no matter what the left wing blogs say.
2. Start valuing innocent life. Babies are human beings—not a choice.
3. Move out of your parents house and get a job. The economy is booming.
4. Be grateful that Bush pulled us out of the Clinton/Gore recession, and for keeping us safe. We haven’t had any terrorist attacks since 9/11.
Follow this advice, and you will be a much happier person.
April 28th, 2006 at 9:32 pm“he also has agreed to pay the state $30,000 to defray its investigative costs” His lawyer said.
Isn’t that like a bribe? WTF?!

April 28th, 2006 at 10:00 pmDear Antagonist,
Out here in reality, we don’t need to medicate or drink the Koolaid to feel better.
That booming sound is the ecomony crashing.
9/11 happened on Bush’s watch. Feel safer now?
For advanced studies read:

Lady’s Rule
Keep dreaming little girl.
April 28th, 2006 at 10:53 pmAntagonist,
If you are for real I feel very sorry for the people that are around you. When I have enough off your stupidity I just dont read your post but your family and friends (if you have any) can’t just ignore you and I feel for them.
April 28th, 2006 at 11:17 pmRyan darling stop running with scissors and take your ritalin.

April 28th, 2006 at 11:24 pmRyan darling, sorry I dropped you on your head when you were a baby. Mommy loves you.
April 28th, 2006 at 11:25 pmRepublicans get their information from drug addicts and then wonder why we (the normal people) call them stupid and mental.
Republicans are delussional with or without drugs.
April 28th, 2006 at 11:25 pmMommy and Antagonist encourage drug use for everything.
And they wonder why we call them stupid and mental.
April 28th, 2006 at 11:28 pmRyan honey, check your blog topic. This one is about RUSH. No ranting about the rest of the silly things going on in that head of yours. Please Ryan try to focus.

April 28th, 2006 at 11:38 pmSo When is Rush gonna admit hes a Liar?
Of course he won’t, but this effectively ends his “moral”

April 28th, 2006 at 11:49 pmAll addicts are liars, whores and con artists.
Its funny how they stick together isn’t it?
Republicans are so mental.
Build more mental institutions!
April 28th, 2006 at 11:59 pmRush Limbaugh is getting what he deserves. He is a con man, a pathetic fearful child, a coward, destructive to other people’s well being, and fundamentally without honesty or character. May the Universe deal with him appropriately. He makes me sick at heart and angry beyond what I want to feel.
April 29th, 2006 at 12:20 amSo now we know that the trolls might not be drug addicts but they listen and follow one.
kinda makes them beyond stupid, and irrsational but we knew that already…like the one who posts here pretending to be everybody’s mommy, must be residuals of the drugs that have failed to wear off.
April 29th, 2006 at 12:21 amWould someone please write about the Drudge Report’s “Not Guilty” headline??? How completely misleading is it for them to put Not Guilty in quotations? (obviously there is a slight difference between Not Guilty and “Not Guilty” — the latter is what he pled, the former would indicate a court or jury found him not guilty). How very lame.
April 29th, 2006 at 1:03 amI probably should have elaborated more: I would be very surprised if Rush and all his friends have not previously proclaimed someone guilty when they entered the exact type of plea as Rush (i.e., “I really didn’t do this, but I will pay $30,000, etc. to make it all go away now.”) This should be a shining example of their hypocrisy.
April 29th, 2006 at 1:06 amHey you slimy liberals celebrate with me.Don’t be haters.Have a cigar;I am,and lovin’ every puff. Here, inhale my second hand smoke.

April 29th, 2006 at 2:55 amWould someone please write about the Drudge Report’s “Not Guilty†headline??? Comment by dawg96 — April 29, 2006 @ 1:06 am
I saw this as well dawg….dont be shocked, Matt Drudge is a loser and just as hypocritical as LimpBag. They should both be shot for treason!
April 29th, 2006 at 3:18 amIt is Clinton’s fault.
April 29th, 2006 at 3:31 amOh pore pore Rush aint that a tragedy, just when he was going to get a plum post in the WH shake up! ;)
April 29th, 2006 at 4:24 amRyan, your economic assertions are,as usual, completely baseless.
April 29th, 2006 at 6:47 amThe market crash, particularly the NASDAQ,occurred in March of 2001,hardly enough time for the Bush policies to be put in place, and the market continued to fall until 2003.
April 29th, 2006 at 7:31 amTroll, Mr.
April 29th, 2006 at 7:52 amOnce again in RACIST, corrupted, al CRACKER, white male privilege AMERIKKKa!!!!

Don’t let this Limbaugh OUTRAGE go by without being heard…
April 29th, 2006 at 8:59 amHypocrisy knows no bounds. Someone’s talking about family values (multiple marriages), clean living (drug addiction), making the country stronger (dividing it with hate filled rhetoric).
What can you count on? For the most part, the opposite of what comes out of his mouth is usually true.
April 29th, 2006 at 9:14 am

April 29th, 2006 at 10:19 amReminds me of Tom Delay’s mug shot…..what are you so damn happy about, Rush?
April 29th, 2006 at 10:19 amRush’s head looks like a bowling ball. What’s with the well-scrubbed look? Getting off the junk must bring back your appetite. Ugh.
April 29th, 2006 at 11:41 amThe prosecutor was a partisan hack, had he had the goods on Rush he would not have dropped this.
April 29th, 2006 at 12:07 pmRemember, abortion as well as gay marriage are nothing but wedge issues used by the wingnuts and their blind followers to distract americans from what their REAL agenda is.
April 29th, 2006 at 12:15 pmAnd Rush Limbaugh gets what he deserves. His radio show offers nothing but hate and poisons our society.
April 29th, 2006 at 12:18 pmDang, I finally agree with Rush on something: OC is sweeeeeet. Mmmmm-hmmmm.
April 29th, 2006 at 3:08 pmEveryone has to remember that Rush didn’t get off scott free.
That’s the message – that the system works and Rush is a hypocrite.

from firedoglake:
April 29th, 2006 at 4:12 pmNow that Rush Limbaugh has turned himself in due to his plea deal with the Palm Beach prosecutor’s office, I thought a bit of discussion about what Rush has in store for his 18-months of supervised release would be helpful for everyone (well, everyone who hasn’t gone through a first time drug arrest anyway).

In another unrelated survey, 34% of people were found to be incapable of comprehending simple facts.
April 30th, 2006 at 3:07 amActually, due to the fact that the formula used to calculate unemployment was changed under the Bush Administration; the comparison is completely worthless.
Further, the economy is running on foreign money, and contrary to what you Yanks may believe, that money is going to have to be paid back at some point with interest. The Chinese didn’t give you those loans just to be nice.

May 7th, 2006 at 10:31 amThe vast majority of the rich in this country did not inherit their wealth; they earned it.
Words mean things.
Too many Americans can’t laugh at themselves anymore.
Rush is in the business of dirt digging. Despite popular beliefs–Rush is not right. All he’s ever done is bash the opposite side.
November 2nd, 2006 at 9:32 amThe earth’s ecosystem is not fragile? Take a look around you. Would you want drink the water from the lakes around you if you saw the green algae and black stains that cross the beaches in my area? Would you want to eat the fish with mercury contamination? Would you like to see what kind of crap you’re breathing in? Do you want to see the animals losing their homes? No more deer hunting, what a shame.
