Its been stuck at 33% for the last couple of weeks. Gas prices and Rove’s indictment to follow(I am praying for it). My guesstimate is that the base is around 25%. We should hit that in a couple of months from now.
Dick: Hah Mine is still lower.
George: Look. [smirk] Rove is lower than a Snake
Dick: [mouthcorner] Yeh? So what. So was Libby.
George; Look.[Hic] mano a mano. First to 10% Wins.
Dick: Yer Drunk [grimace hate grimace]
George: Loser
Dick: Pig Farmer
Speaking of Bush doing a Schiavo, I hear that thing he wears is really for his heart, drugs and alcohol over the years…
George : you couldn’t get elected without me
Dick: want to go hunting?
George: See. Want to go drinking or driving? look.
Dick: How about drinking and driving [Grimace belch]
George: Been ther done that
Dick: Me too [$$ grimace bias hic]
George: Look. how bouts drinking, driving and hunting?
Dick: [grimace mouthcorner] Yeh and we could invite lawyers.
Damn baseball and fulltime jobs. There’s hardly enough time to blog, anymore, especially when the Yank Mes are in town. I hate posting stuff like this so late.
But better late than never. Especially if you’re an Animal House fan. Maybe this sympathetic essay will help his sagging numbers.
Just wait until all of our kids is reading gooder. As it is now, His approval rating seems to match the percentage of the adult population that either dropped out of high school or graduated with less than a 2.0 grade point average.
#22 and #24 actually the Majority of all voters in 2000 agreed but they all didn’t live in the right places at the right time to actually elect the canidate who got the most votes…..
Slip sliding away…and very little on the horizon to turn the trend around. They have to be totally frustrated…completely unable to find some traction or a winning issue.
I recall the President talking about the mandate he received in the election and all the political capital he had to spend. It looks like the only man-date left might be for those who may end up in the clink. As to all that capital, it was spent at about the same pace as the ever expanding national debt.
In the end, the ethically bankrupt are seemingly becoming the politically bankrupt…looks like a just outcome to me.
I”m wondering about the 8% that say Bush has a clear plan for keeping gas prices down. I guess they’d say Bush’s “Pray for no hurricanes” plan was a clear plan for safeguarding New Orleans.
33% is surely an inflated number bouyed by lobbying, dirty tricks and intimidation of the current administration. In light of Dubya’s failures, which is everything he has ever done or thought of doing, a rational person could not possible support him.
The rather high number of 33% must be due to either the factors alluded to in the previous paragraph or an inflated sampling of republicans and/or family members.
Just John, good point, add to that, don’t buy anything. If we could get all the truckers and transport people to join in we would stop everything……Trouble is many people today can’t afford to miss even one day of work. Worked with many like that, high mortgages and car payments, one day missed at work ment they could loose a lot. Sad state of affairs……..Worst president ever, ass in charge, no hat, no cattle, no pigs, just words, brush and bombs. Scary thought folks we have a insane, druggie ,drunk that can bomb anywhere. I told every one I knew about this madman as well, maybe they will listen now…….Blessings, we need them
You know, the comments about bush being upset seem at odds with what you actually see on the video of Colbert’s brilliant performance. Colbert snubbed bush. He shook his hand as bush SMILED and seemed to maintain eye contact until Colbert moved on past him. Then, he didn’t even offer a hand to ms. bush, and seemed to spend the same perfunctory moment with her that he had with her husband, the election thief.
Helen Thomas, the great Helen Thomas, seemed to be the one Colbert really wanted to speak with and be associated with on that dais.
I think all this bluster about bush being upset is belied by the fact that he has a smile, fixed probably, and he seems his dumb old self, just sitting there and taking it. It’s bush’s act to not respond to obvious, pointed, warranted criticism. He blithely pretends, as in all things, that the real world didn’t just happen. This Saturday at the dinner seemed to be more of the same from bush.
Rather, the real story here is that Colbert behaved heroically, and he did not shy away from maintaining his stance when it came time to be cordial to the president. He was cordial, then moved on to more important, honest people.
You know, people who are not destroying this planet.
And above all, good for Colbert to dog the media. He really nailed everyone. Why would a patriot do otherwise? Why pretend to like the detestible. Colbert did not betray himself, or his country, or his legions of fans.
I guess the glass is 2/3 empty.
May 1st, 2006 at 8:03 pm…and what’s there is all backwash!
May 1st, 2006 at 8:39 pmDeserving of a reprise…
Bush on Bush: 37% is remarkable achievement for an underachiever.
An EWM exclusive.
May 1st, 2006 at 8:41 pmIs this approval rating for George Bush or his impersonator?
May 1st, 2006 at 8:42 pmBush may go down in history as the most popular (90%) and least popular (30%? 20%? 10%?) president ever.
May 1st, 2006 at 9:04 pmOr as Stephen Colbert would ask: Does this mean that 66% approve of the job he’s not doing?
May 1st, 2006 at 9:20 pmIts been stuck at 33% for the last couple of weeks. Gas prices and Rove’s indictment to follow(I am praying for it). My guesstimate is that the base is around 25%. We should hit that in a couple of months from now.
May 1st, 2006 at 9:26 pmLet’s have an impromptu unscientific poll in this thread.
“President George W. Bush is an asshat.”
Do you Strongly Agree, Somewhat Agree, Somewhat Disagree, or Strongly Disagree?

May 1st, 2006 at 11:21 pmI warned people four years ago that George W. Bush is no damned good but noooooo!
Nobody wanted to listen to me. They were all like “Well what about the terrorists?” or “What about Clinton’s blowjob?”
Even today some of them still have that same stick up their asses.
May 1st, 2006 at 11:47 pmI feel the same way Lefty.
May 1st, 2006 at 11:48 pm#22 Lovable,
I was warning people in the year 2000, I knew this man was not fit for the job and was downright scary. It was bizarre that so few others saw this.
