Another new low.

“Approval for President George W. Bush among white evangelical Protestants, his most loyal supporters, has fallen to a new low (55 percent), with nearly half agreeing in a new poll that they are ‘tired of all of the problems associated with the Bush administration.’”

…but they are rising in the polls with white satanists and racists.

  2. Love-Practicing OBGYN says:

I have been banned by Americablah because I make fun of how often they discuss gay issues. It confirmed what I always suspected. Americablog is a gay rights site masquerading as a political site for cash…

  3. Zookeeper says:

“Tired of all of the problems associated with the Bush administration.”

And yet, 55% still support Chimpy.

  4. Smack says:

This begins to answer the question of ‘what will it take for people to wake up?’.

  5. Mary Poppin says:

How can anyone in their right mind support Old Bushie?

  6. G.W.SuperChrist says:

    Problems… what problems?

  7. Punchy says:

They can go shove their “tired of all the problems” up their low hole. They voted in his sorry-ass b/c they thought he was Jesus’s best friend. They voted based SOLEY on bigotry towards gays and non-Christians.

Reap what you sow, you clowns. Maybe next time you’ll actually vote your country and not your church….

  8. Clyde the Ripper says:

It is understandable that it has taken these people so long to realize the news of today. After all most of them are still reading that best selling novel written 2000 tears ago.

  9. Leoger says:

Who says that 55% has a mind , what thy have emotional hang ups , denying to themselves and to others their sexuality . They are latent homos , with small peckers and no balls unable to satisfy their women so they love some like bush to beat up on them . Real sado masochistics. They love football games where the slaves beat up on each other , they get pleasure at the sight of blood , not theirs , that’s why they love to send others to war . A mighty sorry lot , a la bush and cheney .

  10. Crystal W. says:

Is gay rights not an important political issue? I ask you

  11. G.W.SuperChrist says:

Leoger – Tell us how you really feal.

  12. Hunter Morrow says:

Hey, what is wrong with football.
These deluded saps have sowed wind and now they are reaping the whirlwind. don’t just complain about you fundys and fall for it the next time! Do something about it! Rail against Bush! I was in the nexus frothing-at-the-mouth-religio-rightard Wisconsin but not anymore. People who used to think of Bush as a step below God complain about him. That used to be considered very scandalous, nigh sinful even, now its de riguer. Mark my words, Bush has just screwed the Republicans for the next decade.

  13. SKdeA says:

Yes, #10, gay rights (which I consider merely a subset of human rights) are of course mportant. But these jerks all voted against gay rights, no matter how bad for their country, that was the point.

  14. dlet says:

Sad thing is, if you ask the 45% that said they are tired of all the problems which party they will vote for in the upcoming elections, they will probaly still say Rethuglican.

  15. Drew Mackenzie says:

Wow, how pathetic is that? Not to be Bush, but to be a loyal supporter of Bush – enjoying the extra benefits that only an industial-strength pimp can get you when you’re that rich and isolated but tired of being the butt of jokes at dinner parties?

“Wahhh, my 2000 bandwagon lost its wheels….”

What I’m waiting for is, King George’s, I have sinned speach.
” Please forgive me, I was mislead by the neocons, those devils.”

  17. Linda says:

To hell with those evangelicals. I refuse to tolerate them anymore. I don’t care if some of them don’t approve of Bush. They will vote Republican again because they are idiots.

  18. AvengingAngel says:

This piece suggest that white evangelical Protestants are just fine with President Bush’s policy towards Iran.

  19. Marie says:

Unnecessary war (killing countless thousands, maiming countless thousands), decrease funding for children, elderly, sick and poor, cut veterans’ benefits, rape the environment, give plum jobs to crooked cronies, accept bribes masquerading as “campaign donations,” lie daily to the American public, expose and endanger a CIA operative and an entire national security operation, and the fundies will continue to worship you because the dry drunk says he “loves god.”
Arrange a blow job for Bush and the support will drop to 0%.

  20. lib4 says:

I have been banned by Americablah because I make fun of how often they discuss gay issues. It confirmed what I always suspected. Americablog is a gay rights site masquerading as a political site for cash…

Thats a bunch of BS….you did something to piss off John and you got banned for it….85-90 percent of the things John posts are non-gay related issues…so can it…
Also you can be critical of AmericaBLog but you didnt have to make it personal…..

If and when you get banned from here …are you going to claim TP is an anti-Bush site masqaurading as a political site in order to get money …..come on dude…you are acting like a Rethug….Take responsibility for your actions…..

  21. Hardy Haberman says:

Much as I would like to I find I can’t really demean the Religious Right for lack of intelligence, rather I feel their devotion to the Republicans is a result of a Democratic lack of vision. Bush played to their fears and spoke with evangelical verve about morality. The Democrats should and can still play to their Christian principals of charity, caring for the sick and homeless. Give them a choice between a voice of fear and a voice of hope.

The Religious Right is not only disillusioned about Bush but they are feeling betrayed. They have been used by the neo-cons and they are beginning to realize it. That fact alone will keep many away from the polls, but Democrats cannot just sit back and wait for the GOP to meltdown, we must offer an alternative vision, not just GOP-Lite.

As progressives we need to articulate our vision and our principals loudly and proudly. That act will draw people to the cause as they see us offering meaning for their lives and votes.

  22. Zookeeper says:

The 45% who a tired of his crap would probably still vote for him.

  23. Zookeeper says:

    #2 – What’s your point?

  24. Gregor Samsa says:

63 per cent agreeing that newcomers posed a threat to traditional American values

“A threat to traditional American values”? What “traditional” values? Emptying the land of Native-Americans? Enslaving black people? Or invading other countries that pose no threat? Right -we don’t want any Johnny-come-lately threatening America’s God-given right to do all that; it would be awful indeed….

And then people are surprised at the finding that immigrants perceive the debate on immigration as being fueled by racism.

  26. The Muse says:

Polls schmoles…here’s an unscientific one that nails the problem:

Bush Solidifies Base: Tongues wag as 32% of U.S. turns into pillars of salt.

EWM- (May 2, 2006) The nation is reeling over a poll released today that shows the 32 percent of Americans that still approve of the president have turned into pillars of salt. The stunning discovery may account for the impervious few that still regard the Bush years as a success, despite abundant stimuli indicating otherwise…

There were whispers in the faith community about the odd coincidence of the diehard Bush supporters meeting the same fate as the Biblical Lot’s wife, who was turned into a salt pillar upon looking back longingly on the burning city of Sodom. A spokesman with the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington sought to downplay the divine connection, saying “any similarities between what Bush has done to the country and what was going on in Sodom and Gomorrah is purely coincidental…”

  28. buzzbomb says:

gop keeps sending me emails. Here is an excerpt from one that is really lame:

“And if you make a Grow Our Party Funds monthly donation of just $25 or more, you’ll receive this free “I am Proud Bush is my President” mousepad. With a commitment of $50 or more, you’ll get two – one for you and one for a friend.”

I want a mousepad that says: I am ashamed a strutting, dimwitted, bloodthirsty, lying, cowboy assclown is my President”

  29. big papa says:

…but they STILL support his policies, his surrogates, and will vote for ANY Republiscum “conservative in the next election…

    …nuff said…
