If you have a finely tuned sports car that demands constant attention to keep it in perfect running order, would you hand over it’s care to illiterate migrant field hands who have never even driven a car? This is analogous to what’s happened to the finely tuned democracy that once was America. One man, one vote is fine, as long as the majority of those voting are responsible with the use of their vote and intelligent enough to understand why their only loyalty must be to country and not party. Our democracy has been entrusted to people who know little about democracy and understand even less about how it works and why it works. If you allow people to start disassembling the parts and abusing the engine that powers your sports car, soon you will have a pile of junk which won’t run. I’d say we need to get this old heap into a reliable garage with a certified mechanic or else we’ll all be walking, and most likely walking down the road to oligarchy.

A poorly educated electorate, combined with a flood of immigrants unknowledgeable of the history and workings of democracy, have allowed themselves to be duped by religious talking con-men who were out for personal gain. Giving pardons to illegal immigration, and allowing people to become citizens simply because we want cheap labor to mow our lawns and pick our produce has helped America’s decline to the brink of a truly fascist state. The uneducated, be they native born or immigrant, don’t understand when they are being used and are simply too lazy to educate themselves. It’s so much easier for them to just let a talking head political hack do all their thinking for them.

Democracy is a team effort. An effort required by all of those who vote. When more than half are intellectually challenged be it by intellect or language barriers, the team is going to lose to the wealthy corporate owners of fascism. Every damn time.
